"Al Palazzo is the renowned restaurant at the Palazzo Murat hotel which is run by the Attanasio family. Dine alfresco in the restaurant’s beautiful botanical garden with its tiny vegetable patch, apart from on rare days of bad weather, when guests are served indoors in its small, elegant dining rooms. The Mediterranean cuisine includes meat and fish dishes alike, with slightly different menus at lunchtime (simpler options) and in the evening. Le Petit Murat bar is still open, offering an interesting selection of cocktails to supplement its excellent wine list." - Michelin Inspector

Definitely pricey but very good. Lobster pasta was amazing. Dessert was light and pleasant

We stumbled upon this place on our first night in Positano and I have to say it was possibly the best, most personal and generously kind service I have experience in my life. We were looked after predominantly by Antonia. Her ability to understand our needs, communicate well with great humour and leave us with a memorable experience was a true joy. Her passion for her work came through and I’m very grateful that we were lucky enough to meet her. The food was incredible and at a late hour, they accepted us as guests before the kitchen closed.

Amazing experience. My husband and I dined to celebrate our honeymoon. Everything we had to eat was excellent (especially the raw fish filet antipasti) and the servers were wonderful. It was absolutely beautiful and while it was pricier it was absolutely worth it.

Excellent fine dining experience in Positano! If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! Food: Meal started with a complimentary amuse bouche and ended with petit fours which was a lovely touch. The menu itself has a good range to select from including seafood, meat and pastas. We ordered al la carte with one appetizer, one starter, 2 mains and 2 desserts which was plenty of food for 2 people. Everything was beautifully cooked and very delicious. The standout dish for me was the Lemon Delight dessert. As a citrus lover this hit all the right flavour notes and I would go back again just for the dessert. The price is on the higher end but when the food is so well prepared and cooked and the quality is evident, it's worth it in my opinion. Also great selection of drinks including non-alcoholic which I appreciated. Service was impeccable all the way from when we were first greeted to the end. Very professional, attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself is part of the Hotel and situated in a very lovely and well designed garden courtyard. Great outdoor space for dinner on a warm summers night. Many thanks to the waitstaff and chefs at Al Palazzo for one of the best meals we had in Italy.

Our first dinner in Positano in our own hotel! Let’s start with the bread. OMG. Possibly the best bread i’ve ever had. I could not get enough of it, yes, it was that good. The eggplant parmigiana appetizer looked different than all the others i’ve ordered but it surprised me. The entrees were so delicious as well. Extremely savory. Service was so polite and friendly!

Great experience and the tasting menu was a joy. Top notch service and the cocktails were fantastic. The lobster and gnocchi dish was incredible. The lemon cake was a bit of a let down after 4 terrific courses but overall everything was fantastic. Plates were beautifully presented. Highly suggest stopping here for a fine dining experience.

What a special night we had! Incredible service from greeting and seating by Maria followed by our waiters Marko and Pascal. The greeting, the atmosphere, the service and the food were incredible. If you ever visit make sure to check their wine stellar it is a sight to see, wawwwww. The chefs working in the kitchen behind glass can be seen working on their masterpieces, quite meditative to watch them. Every dish that came out looked like an artistic canvas. The tuna tartare was one of the best we've had with a delicious citrus bearnaise. The raviolo and truffle pasta of the night were immaculate, and to finish we had the sea bass with succulent sides. Very special night, amazing food, great wine pairing, great location in pedestrian area. Highly recommend!

A perfect place to have our last dinner in Positano! While there weren’t coastal views, the vibe of the restaurant was still pretty nice and gave a different feel altogether (in a calm and relaxing way). We weren’t having any luck getting reservations online, but we’re able to get a table through our hotel’s front desk. The service throughout was great as we were regularly tended to. The suggestions by the waiter were also spot on. Our Eggplant Parmigiana starter was delicious, with the crunchy topper adding a perfect mix of texture. The two pastas we shared were great and very flavorful. The lobster dish would’ve been large enough on its own as it was more then generous plate. I also really appreciate the restaurant providing us a complimentary dessert for our celebratory occasion as well. All three types of chocolate were very decadent and rich, but equally tasty. Definitely a great option for a nice dinner in the area and one that I would love to repeat.

Yelp
Al Palazzo was the perfect spot for a stellar dining experience for our last night in Positano. Located in a 19th century palazzo, you get a taste of life as an Italian noble. The relaxed courtyard setting was perfect for a cool evening after a hot June day - fairly quiet, but not sterile. We went for the traditional tasting menu and wine pairing. Every course was delicious and carefully presented. It was the service, however, that truly stood out. Our server Marco was especially attentive, and Sebastiano provided excellent descriptions of the various wines. Highly recommended for a special occasion, or if you just want an awesome fine dining experience.

Yelp
Al Palazzo restaurant, connected to the Hotel Palazzo Murat, is regularly voted as one of the top restaurants in Positano. Italian with a Mediterranean emphasis, this garden restaurant is focused on fresh local ingredients. We were lucky enough to do a (gasp!) walk in dinner and were seated in the lovely garden dining area- while enjoying one of our favorite meals in Posi. Most go for the tasting menu here, but we opted for ordering several dishes a La carte and were blown away by the ziti pasta and anchovy antipasto- two of the best dishes we had during our two week Italy trip. Service was simply fantastic and the overall experience wonderful, we can easily see why this Michelin guided restaurant is so popular. 5 stars for Al Palazzo!

Yelp
Wow, what a restaurant you can't go wrong with this wonderful experience beautiful atmosphere. Make sure you see Carla he will take great care of you. The dessert and lemon cello is out of this world. This is a must stop restaurant in Positano.

Yelp
So my mother had stumbled upon this gem several years ago in Positano and last month, made it a point to be sure to stay at the hotel and also go to the restaurant as well. She had glowing reviews about the restaurant and insisted that if we do anything in Positano, that we at least make reservations there. So... we made the reservations and basically decided to make the this the highlight meal of our trip! We came to Positano on our honeymoon and decided that we'll do the tasting menu as our splurge for our honeymoon. The weather was absolutely gorgeous in Positano and then the storm rolled in the night of our reservation... I have never in my life seen rain rain that hard in my entire life. But none-the-less we made the trek from our hotel to go make it to our reservation. By the time we made it to the hotel, we looked like drowned rats, even with our umbrellas... So much for doing my makeup and hair for dinner... it didn't stand a chance against the horizontal rain. It appeared that the restaurant was typically set up in the outside courtyard however due to the rain was moved to tents due to the heavy downpour. We were sat immediately for dinner, one of the staff members took pity on me being completely drenched and offered me a shawl/scarf so that I could stay warm. We were given a winelist and then one minute after we were sat, all of the power throughout the entire facility went out amidst all of the heavy rain and thunderstorms. Thankfully with head our oil lamp candle on our tables... It seriously would have been the perfect setting for a murder-mystery dinner. Given the fact that the power went out What we ordered: Lobster salad, Zucchini risotto with truffle, Buffalo cheek, Rabbit ravioli and Succulent Pork. It was all absolutely amazing. With the power outages we made the sad and tough decision to decide not to move forward with the tasting menu as originally planned and decided to carefully check and see how the kitchen was doing even with the power outages. We decided to move forward with ordering the lobster salad, buffalo cheek, and ravioli. The power flickered back on and off throughout the night however we saw other dishes going out to other tables that looked absolutely wonderful so we decided to also order the pork and risotto (both absolutely delicious!). All of the dishes were so tasty and delicious and I attempted to take photos of them however the lighting was limited with our oil lamp candle so the pictures serve no justice to the beautiful presentation of the dishes. It's the times that where the circumstances are difficult that shows the strength, character and caliber of the staff and restaurant. Even though the power kept going out throughout the entire facility, the chefs still produced absolutely phenomenal dishes. With the horrible weather, the poor waiters and staff were completely drenched however they painstakingly took every effort to make sure that we all were having a good time and enjoyed our meal. Luigi who attended us was a superstar, he had a wonderful smile throughout the entire night and attended to all the tables and worked hard with all the staff. Although we unfortunately didn't do the tasting menu this time, we will be back at another time in the future to finally try that tasting menu that my mother was raving all about. Gracie and bravo for a wonderful time even in the worst circumstances, we'll definitely be back!

Yelp
One of the best restaurants to get away from all the crowds and craziness of Positano. Absolutely wonderful food and service!

Yelp
A clear disdain for American diners from a Michelin Star winning restaurant. Service towards us was so poor, it made Popeyes Chicken in downtown St Louis look and feel like Guy Savoy. The food is better at that Popeyes as well. Avoid. Walk down the hill to Chez Black, instead.

Edward Y.

Yelp
We had a wonderful meal. We were a party of four and each of us enjoyed our meal. Mostly seafood as is the case in Positano. My wife is not a big fan of seafood so they made her a special pasta and vegetable dish at her request. Very accommodating. Carlo our waiter provided exceptional service. Very nice restaurant

Yelp
Wow literally one of the worst meals I have ever had in my life. We were led here by our hotel concierge and we were so excited to try it. We walked in and noticed it was a Michelin star restaurant. The restaurant was fairly empty, maybe 6 tables of customers but there were maybe 12 waiters running around in circles looking very confused. We waited about 15-20 minutes before being acknowledged and then asked for a wine recommendation. And the wine was so dry and bitter but since we bought a bottle we felt bad saying anything. Next we ordered the caprese salad and asked for no anchovies but said ok for swordfish. We instead received the exact opposite. When I questioned the waiter he argued and said it wasn't anchovies. I had removed them from my dish and when another waiter walked by he confirmed indeed these were anchovies. Next the amber jack and tuna tartar just absolutely lacked any taste, again disappointed but decided to push thru to the main meal. I had the risotto with oysters and shrimp, again disgusting ! The dish was presented with a scoop of raw shrimp and oysters in the middle of the flavorless risotto, how is that possible in a risotto it's made with butter and salt??. My parter had the John Dory and it was the most dry piece of fish we have ever tasted, literally tasted like a over grilled steak that someone fell asleep on while it was grilling! The main server tried to make up for it by sending an actual sword fish dish out but we were so disgusted we honestly couldn't have another bite. Our bill was 164 euros and I literally feel as if I flushed that money down the toilet. Would rather a shit hole in Tuscany over this place any day, only Michelin Star this place deserves is a flat tire. If you're coming to this part of town for a good meal do Not come here order dominos pizza in LA, but hey the little complimentary biscuits at the end that weighed less than a gram were at least decent! Bye bye euros, now where is some ?

Yelp
It's like an oasis from the trinket shops and crowded stairways to and from the beach. Located optimally about halfway down between the main road and the Positano main beach itself, this hotel with it's gorgeous courtyard restaurant, is a great choice to avoid most of the crowds that walk by without even knowing it exists. Walk-ins are welcome, service is great, atmosphere is high class but comfortable and the menu is very approachable. Search this place out to get some calm back into a sometimes hectic area.

Yelp
This place is worthy of five stars based on the ambiance and service alone. After a day in Positano, we weren't truly dressed in Michelin worthy attire, so I was frankly concerned we'd be asked to leave. Instead, we were seated on the gorgeous patio, and then asked by our server if we preferred more intimate seating away from the children. We were served a complimentary fried risotto ball app and ordered from the impressive wine list. The seafood was amazing, especially the pistachio crusted fish. We ordered a ginormous steak feature, which came highly recommended. They carved it table side with a great au jus, but it was left on a hot plate so sadly it was pretty dried out. Dessert was amazing, but they also brought us a selection of complimentary chocolates at the end of the meal. All in all, left stuffed, feeling like Almafi royalty!

Yelp
Positano, Italy - The Amalfi Coast. Excellent service and the food is very good. Worth the Euros and get the Fungi dessert. You'll se how this is a 3M dessert.

Yelp
It situated in a beautiful setting, perfect for romantic summer night relaxing dinner at a court yard. I ordered scollop with white bean and I was amazed by how well scollop taste goes well with bean paste. So I had higher hope for my main which was a risotto with oyster and raw prawn . Risotto was perfectly cooked but bit salty for my taste. And even seafood lover like myself, raw oyster and prawn for risotto was too fishy. My BF ordered ravioli capresse which was tasty but arrived Luke warm at best. Veal osso buco which was georgous and disappeared very quickly. We shared very enjoyable a coconut lime mango tart dessert. Overall, gorgeous setting, you won't be disappointed at reasonable price.

Yelp
We had one of the best meals we've had in Italy! The setting is wonderful - like eating in a garden. The staff was extra friendly and helpful. The restaurant is part of the Palazzo Murat Hotel. My wife had the roast chicken and it was superb - I had some and asked why it was so good and I found out that they use very young chickens; it was the best tasting chicken I've ever had. I had the spaghetti and clams and loved it - great flavor and an abundance of clams. Positano has an abundance of expensive restaurants due to their location to the sea. Al Palazzo in my view stands out as being top quality, wonderful service and a peaceful setting that stands out from other Positano restaurants; also they speak English quite well!

Yelp
A very romantic setting (candles, open air, quiet) and some quality food. They have two prix fixe options: traditional and a tasting menu. We opted for the traditional, because the tasting menu looked like an enormous amount of food. Presentation was great, everything looked beautiful as it came out. My favorite dish of the evening was the bruschetta, but the pasta and sea bass were quite nice too. Wine seemed reasonably priced, we had a nice bottle for 25 EUR. A very good dining option in Positano.

John K.

Yelp
Dropped in for lunch while walking around. Had the seafood pasta and the seabass. Did not have high expectations but both were excellent. Small portions and pricey but expected. Nice outside garden to eat at.

Harrison S.

Yelp
Stopped in here for lunch - just a spectacular restaurant. Sitting in the garden of the hotel, you're surrounded by gorgeous greenery and flowers. The cocktail list is excellent, and the food was fantastic. We split a caprese and ravioli - the cheese was some of the best we had in Positano. Would love to come back here for dinner, but also recommend as a nice lunch spot!

Zi H.

Yelp
Excellent food and ambiance. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Will come again if visiting Amalfi coast again.

James D.

Yelp
Southern italian fine dining pretty much at its best. It get's 4 stars solely because it's overpriced, as are most things on the Amalfi Coast. It's part of lovely hotel right near the beach. Al fresco dining within a lovely garden. Immaculate service. Extensive italian wine list, but not overly expensive (unless you want it to be!) and the sommelier was more than helpful, suggesting a lovely local white at about 35E. The pasta was delicate and flavoursome, the fish fresh and tasty whilst being beautifully presented. They were also more than comfortable accommodating my 2 year old niece, which some places of this type frown upon. Would recommend for something special.

Aaron C.

Yelp
Al Palazzo is set in an amazing location. You sit in a beautiful garden, it is very peaceful and the service was amazing. All of the dishes we had both looked and tasted delicious. I had the ravioli which was served in a way that I thought was unique and had never seen before. Instead of multiple raviolis on a plate it was served as a grid of connected raviolis. Besides what we had ordered we also received complimentary amuse-bouche and some after dinner desert bites which was a nice touch. All in all a great meal in a nice garden oasis.

Chelsea G.

Yelp
Al Palazzo at Hotel Piazzo Murat oozes romance, I'll give them that. Their outdoor patio is inviting and upscale without being as bougie as its rival Le Sirreneuse. Al Palazzo seems to attract an older crowd that loves an overpriced tasting menu and wine pairings. Nothing we ordered was in the least bit unappetizing, but the meal was rather unremarkable, and a far cry from what I had been craving on the Italian coast.

Dylan R.

Yelp
I never, and I mean never, leave reviews, but this place is more than deserving of one. The food is spectacular and the service, even better. My boyfriend and I went two nights in a row and ate completely different meals both nights. Everything we had was delicious and well thought out. The head waiter, Luigi, was wonderful, extremely kind, knowledgeable about their food and extensive wine list and made sure every part of your experience was perfect. When my boyfriend ordered a glass of wine, Luigi sent the server back to pour him more because Luigi felt the pour was too small. I wish for everyone to go on a night he is working. Your dinner will be amazing either way but his energy and attention to detail made it that much more enjoyable. Dining in Positano can be expensive and often underwhelming, and not much cheaper than a dinner at Al Palazzo. For the quality of food and top notch service, it is definitely worth the visit.

Jay T.

Yelp
I almost never leave reviews but I just could not wait to write this one.. Truly an unforgettable meal. Set in a stunning patio with a live guitar player, the food was off the charts. It is easy to see why they were awarded a Michelin star this year. The wine list is also impressive - not super long, but skillfully thought out. We can't wait to visit Positano again and dine at Al Palazzo - a stunning experience.

Don B.

Yelp
After a few days in Positano we dreaded walking up to the top to have dinner. On the way up we found the Plazzo Murat and stopped in for dinner. We ate outside and were very comfortable. The service here is excellent from the time when you sit down until the time you leave. The menu has a lot of excellent choices and we were all satisfied with our entries -steak, seafood and pasta. Menu is a tough one for kids and if you have a picky eater you might be in trouble. It's a bit pricy but most of the restaurants in Positano are. The chef prepared a special plated the first night and we ended the meal with a free shot of limoncello - this is a custom most upper end restaurants follow in Positano. We ate their twice and walked away both times full and talking about a great dining experience. You won't be disapointed if you decide to eat here

Marc R.

Yelp
The food is delicious and staff are great! My wife took a pasta dish with cheese and I took a tuna dish with pistachio crust. It was the most delicious tuna i have ever had! Since it is a michelin rated restaurant it is a bit pricey. For 3 small pieces of tuna, it was 24 euros. However like I said the staff was great, as soon as we took a sip from our water, someone was ready to top it up from our bottle.

BlowIn I.

Yelp
Candle light and fresh food presented perfectly on the plate. I love it, when I go to a restaurant where there is passion for food. The waiters were friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere romantic. --------------------------------- Starter: Vegetables with chickpea, garlic, avocado/lemon sauce. Main: Paccheri Pasta in cream of Provolone del Monaco cheese, garnished with black truffle slivers. Dessert: Dark Chocolate ball stuffed with zabaione cream, almond crunchy and caramel sauce. Espresso.

Viviana B.

Yelp
Was a very refined and great tasting food you could tell the quality in it. We did a walk in no reservation and our service was not the best. Our food for some reason was delayed. Although they gave us prosecco and a free wine refill they did not say why just a Sorry... The first course and appetizer were to die for, so good. The dessert was really well done as well. The second course was OK. I would encourage you do a reservation if your going service seems to be better that way.
