Alshami House Mediterranean Cuisine Review - Northeast Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Alshami House Mediterranean Cuisine is good for a lot of situations. There are healthy options like Greek salads and chicken pitas, relatively unhealthy options like four cheese fatayer and manakeesh, and it’s also moderately affordable (the most expensive thing on the menu is $25). Stop by on a casual weeknight and have a lamb gyro platter that puts juicy strips of meat and tzatziki sauce over fragrant rice." - Candis R. McLean

Very unfortunate, they took 15 minutes to make a simple beaf or chicken shawarma, bro its food truck and everything need to be quick. FYI, if you don’t pay them tip it will take forever to make your order. There is no way to reply back, but here is my answer, the food you prepare was delicious that is why my review was only for your time and I didn’t pay tip and the customer behind me paid you tip, his order was ready before mind, that is why I complained, by the way i am coming back and will spend another $120.00, and if you treated me the same I will not change my review.

I had an amazing experience at this shawarma food truck! The food was absolutely delicious — the meat was juicy, the spices were perfect, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. What really made my visit even better was the excellent customer service. Mohammad, the cashier, was super friendly and welcoming. He made sure everything was just right with my order and had a great attitude the whole time. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Google
Possibly the worst Mediterranean food experience I’ve had in Houston. The pita was stale, chicken was incredibly dry and tasteless and the fries were overcooked. If you’re really craving Mediterranean cuisine and want food in under 20 minutes, just keep driving the extra half mile to Abu Omar Halal. You can never go wrong with them and still get your food fast.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hidden Gem on Wheels – Al Shami Food Truck! Al Shami Food Truck is an absolute treasure for anyone who loves authentic Middle Eastern flavors! From the first bite, you can taste the care, tradition, and quality in every dish. The shawarma is perfectly seasoned and juicy, the falafel is crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the garlic sauce is pure magic. Everything is made fresh, and the portions are generous — great value for the price. I especially loved the fresh-baked saj bread and the grilled meats — truly restaurant-quality food served with the convenience and speed of a food truck. The team is incredibly welcoming and friendly, and you can tell they’re passionate about what they do. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or a late-night bite, this place never disappoints. If you’re in the area, don’t miss it — Al Shami is one of the best food trucks in town!

Google
If I could give zero stars, I would. This is the second time I’ve ordered from this place, and both times the food was either stale, overcooked, or clearly old. The chicken shawarma was dry and looked days old, as shown in the photos. The coleslaw was just as bad—old and inedible. This business clearly doesn’t care about customer health or safety. I’ll be reporting them to Uber Eats and the local health department for serving unsafe, low-quality food.

Google
Really tasty Shawarmas here- I got the Shawarma Arabi and it tasted really good.

Google
The quality has definitely dropped compared to before. The chicken tasted old, and it was noticeable. I really hope they go back to their previous standards because I used to enjoy their food. If they improve, I’ll be happy to update my review.

Google
What has happened with quality food?. Food was highly disappointing. I have been to Deaborn Michigan the mecca of amazing Arabic food, I know good quality. This is the 1st time I try a food truck and definitely the last. The wrap had too much onion, and bread was saugy. The chicken and steak kabob was okay but the kafta was old and reheated. $49 DOLLARS FOR 3 KABOBS AND RICE, ONE WRAP and one sweet. DEFINITELY OVERPRICED FOR THE QUALITY!! INSTAGRAM GAVE U A PLATFORM BUT YOU HAVE DEFINITELY LOST YOUR TOUCH. STEP IT UP.

Yelp
Can be good, can be bad, depends on the day, time, or staff. Unfortunately like most trucks in this area, quality is all over the place. I have tried multiple times the chicken shawarma arabi, once it was pretty good (good garlic sauce, juicy chicken, and fresh fries), other 2 times were dry chicken in a sloppy sandwich. I also tried the beef arabi multiple times, once it was juicy and correctly seasoned, yesterday it was dryer than a desert (very sure it was not cooked the same day) served with what seems like expired pink sauce and close to expired coleslaw. The only good part about yesterday's meal was the fries. Finally, I've tried the grilled mix plate... and that was one time but based on that I think they should stick to shawarma. Service usually all over the place, expect a wait time of 15-30 mins for orders. I think I am personally done trying this place, it's like flipping a 20 dollar coin every time, but if you do want to try it, I'd say go on a Saturday about 2 hrs after they open.

Yelp
Not too Shabby. But it is too Shami, if you can be such a thing. Absolutely delicious kebabs and wraps and some of the most delicious items available from a food truck in Houston. It's a Middle Eastern food truck and it's absolutely wonderful. It's part of the large Middle Eastern food truck Park on Westheimer so there are lots of great options here but this is actually one of the best ones. Big Chef is my fave, which is Turkish mainly, and this one is a close second at the moment since a couple of the other great ones disappeared. Get the Adana, I love it. The shawarma is delicious too! Open very very late which is also a massive selling point.

Yelp
This food truck stays busy. Always a good sign. We've enjoyed both the beef and chicken shawarmas and the adena kabab sandwich. The food is comparable to Abu Omar. I appreciate the affordability of this place, most sandwiches are under $10. solid option for lunch!

Yelp
Huge fan of shawarma, and I have to say this may be the best Shwarma in the city of Houston. The flavorful beef Shwarma is very tender and not dry. It has all flavors hitting throughout each bite. Comes with side veggies and garlic sauce. What more do you need? Must place to try!

Yelp
I am from Damascus, Syria and a frequent traveler and this is the most authentic shawarma in ALL OF AMERICA. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, the garlic sauce is perfectly emulsified, and the wrap itself is nicer and seared. The workers are nice and try to be as quick as they can considering the volume of food they put out. And it is a food truck so the environment is wholesome, which is what you expect for a perfect street food experience.

Ana L.

Yelp
The employees are so rude and disrespectful. He wouldn't look into your eyes while taking the order, instead he texts on the phone and after waiting half an hour for my order, he gives you wrong stuff and starts being very argumentative. Good luck running the business with customer service like this

Yelp
I enjoyed the flavor of the food, but to be honest, it wasn't worth the cost. I paid around $50 for 2 small beef sandwiches and had to wait in line to get them. You can find similar sandwiches at any Mediterranean restaurant for a much lower price and with better seating options.

Yelp
Wow this Shawarma is the best I have had in so long. I highly recommend this place. Their service is amazing.

Yelp
This is the best shawarma in Houston !!!!!!! This is the place to hit up for a late night crave or just because your hungry.10/10 recommend. The ambiance is very welcoming and the staff provides good customer service. It was my first time eating Mediterranean food and Ali was nice enough to explain the menu to me. Affordable prices for the amount of food. Beef shawarma is my favorite:)

Jay S.

Yelp
Top notch shawarma spot. Food was great. Fast service. They had some outdoor seating but I got take out. The Turkish flavors here definitely stand out. Yummy

Yelp
We go to the one on Westheimer and love it. Great food and the staff is super nice. Try the grilled kibbe.

Keris D.

Yelp
10/10 best shawarma in Houston!!! I drive almost an hour to eat here. You won't be disappointed, the service is incredible, food is extraordinary

Rashan D.

Yelp
Al Shami has the best adana shawarma and beef shawarma I've had so far. Shawarma places usually never have good beef shawarma but Al-Shami is the first shawarma place that has great beef shawarma here in Houston. Al-Mankal grill still has the best Chicken shawarma but Al-Shami has the best beef & adana shawarma. The service is great and it's a food truck so the ambience depends on the weather. They do have a shortage of parking though so if you go here try to carpool.

Moe G.

Yelp
How is this possible? how can this place only have 4 reviews? the best shawarma i've had in houston! the food is amazing and the service is great!

Brandi W.

Yelp
Was in the area and saw the food truck yard, so I swung in to check it out. So glad I did. The food was absolutely delicious (#4). I ate it while driving and had to stop myself from turning the car around and going back for more. The staff were polite and welcoming. I highly recommend it. I will be back.

Noor S.

Yelp
Small portions! Paid $20 and not even full. What a waste of money! The workers are so rude. Not clean. I will never come back.

Yelp
Best Arabi food truck in Houston. The shish tawook is the best. Must try! It will transport you back overseas if not to a better place.

Yelp
Al Shami is a very tasty spot located in Houston mixed with many other Mediterranean and flavorful food trucks. My friend and I decided to try out their shawarmas as she was missing the food from back home. As soon as we took our first bite it was extremely tasty, the chicken was just right, nothing was too overpowering and my friend felt like she was back home in Syria. I definitely recommend eating here. The staff were also very helpful and friendly when asking them to describe the different options they offered in terms of shawarma plates. If you are ever around the area, I highly recommend stopping by Al Shami to grab a tasty shawarma. I personally really enjoyed the Chicken Shawarma Arabi which comes with friends and pickled veggies!

Yelp
Their Shawarma and Adana are the best in town. We have been to Hwy 6 and Voss location I don't know how many times. They are always kind and best service and food quality. Try it if you haven't already.

Kellie D.

Yelp
We had a beef shawarma and a chicken shawarma (sandwich only). Good quality, tasty, but we've had better. Phoenicia is the star for shawarma.

Nadav K.

Yelp
The food was ok,I believe they can improve it a little bit to get it to 5 stars review.
google avatar

Hbk S.

Yelp
This shawarma is like eating it back in Beirut or Damascus. There is no other shawarma that can get better. Must try if you are in Houston for sure!

Monika G.

Yelp
I've been here twice now and still one of the best shawarma I've ever had. Highly recommend!
