A very small walk away from the charming streets of Carloforte, Al Tonno di Corsa may offer a dining experience that captures the soul of the island’s culinary tradition—especially when you opt for the Menu di Degustazione. We were lucky to be seated at a lovely table, setting the mood for what became a nice evening.
The star of the meal was without doubt the filletto di tonno—tender, flavorful, and a beautiful tribute to Carloforte’s passion for tuna. Each course brought something traditionally linked to Carloforte to the table, highlighting fresh ingredients and thoughtful preparation. A Bravo to the kitchen.
🌟Dino, the sommelier, was a refreshing surprise. His explanations of wine pairings and dishes were not only informative but delightfully humorous, giving the evening a warm and engaging touch. He and the kind-hearted boss brought a sense of welcome and hospitality that made us feel at ease.
👎 However, service overall lacked the finesse and professionalism one might expect at a place of this caliber. Outside the commendable efforts of the boss and Dino, the rest of the staff didn’t quite match the standard set by the kitchen.
If you're after outstanding seafood and a few good laughs with your wine, Al Tonno di Corsa is absolutely worth a visit—just don’t expect perfection in the service department.
I want to underline here also the excellent quality price ratio of the menu di degustazione.
