Il Divo, from Al Valentino Owners, Opens on the Upper East Side Monday | Eater NY

"Known in Milan as a fashion haunt, Al Valentino is the inspiration for the U.S. outpost and embodies the owners' devotion to Rudolph Valentino, although the team could not transfer the Al Valentino name to their New York restaurant." - Beth Landman

Al Valentino Team to Open Il Divo on Upper East Side in Former Per Lei Space | Eater NY

"Owned by Antonio Sinesi and Claudio Della Monica, Al Valentino is a fifteen-year-old upscale restaurant from Milan that’s popular with the fashion set and has been visited by figures like Armani and Dolce & Gabbana; it's described as cozy with art-filled walls and known for signature dishes such as rib eye agrodolce, gnocchi with saffron and pistachio, linguini with scallion and tomato, and hangar steak with 60 herbs." - Beth Landman

So, we had dinner in the restaurant. I believe we have taken the menu number 2. Also, we had red wine that was the recommendation. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. All of the courses were very tasty, and it was more than enough food for 2 people.

Amazing food and service. The waiter was there to help us the entire time, recommended food, made jokes etc incredible service And the food was divine, we got the menu for 30€ and comes with a full bottle of wine and is so much food and an amazing tiramisu. Definitely come to this place when you're in Milan.

My boyfriend has been coming here for years but finally we made it here together. It’s a beautiful little restaurant that makes you feel like you’re somewhere in France. Lovely ambience and soft lighting, great service, and amazing food. We ordered the homemade pâté, chicory, and the chateaubriand plate with homemade chips and vegetables, so tender and flavorful. We’ll keep coming back here!

Service was excellent. Price was pretty good for 40€ 3 course tasting menu per person with a fantastic bottle of house red. The starter (pasta pictured) was excellent, and the two pastas complimented each other very well. However, the main course was a disappointment. We misunderstood what was being offered on the menu, but trusted that regardless of the menu we chose, it would taste good. Turned out it was very nicely cooked beef on a dry (some cheese but not enough) bread, served with a sweet and sour (Asian style?) sauce (but why??), and a ton of bland tasteless crisps (chips). The crisps made it feel so downmarket. I also wasn't a fan of the 80s pop music on the background, I thought this place was trying to be traditional but again I was mistaken. Also disappointing that all three choices of menus featured a slab of beef as the main. I think they could do with more choice. Regardless, we enjoyed the experience, but can't recommend the place. Also, bring cash as tips can't be paid with card.

Google
Excelent ambiance and service. Unfortunately not the food and I mean almost all the food: osso bucco extremely salty with top much vegetables on it losing its taste, risoto too all dente, Rudy steak poorly done with cips from bag.

This is an old style restaurant a bit retrò with a very professional staff Food is good quality and well served Dishes are very classical like in the 80s

Yelp
This place is absolutely stellar. Al Valentino is a comfortable restaurant that has some amazing vibes - the décor is amazing, and virtually every seat seems to have a good view. Better yet, the food is to die for - pretty much everything I tried was drool-worthy, and I'd order it again in a heartbeat. Needless to say, the pasta dishes were a stand-out, so I'd order those first. If you find yourself in Milan, you really owe it to yourself to try this place!

Yelp
A very busy restaurant for the upper crust and beautiful crowd. Reservations are a must. The waiters scurried around pleasing the guests as the manager or owner hurried them along. The food was very good and nicely displayed. Nice ambiance with lots of bottles of wine in view and walls full of framed items. The portions were large. I had Veal Milanese and asparagus as a side. The veal was a bit dry w no sauce but I assume that is Milanese. The asparagus was perfect. I would eat there again and hope for an English menu. Hated asking questions about the preparation of each dish.
