Aladdin’s Market & Kitchen

I love falafel and thought I would try theirs. I ordered the falafel plate with a salad, and it came with rice, hummus, and pita. The salad was delicious, and the olives totally made it. The falafel was flavorful and seasoned to perfection. The best part was probably my desert. I got two pieces of the almond cake to go. I am not crazy about sweets, but this was a good balance between sweet and savory. I will definitely be back. I didn't buy anything in the store, but they have everything you can possibly imagine. *Edit to add I am not going to take a star, but their desserts have undergone "shrinkflation" my latest Basbousa purchased 10/9/2025 was the size of my mailbox key 🔑 😳.

I want to give them 5 stars, but I cannot. I ordered chicken wings for $15 and they were the smallest chicken wings I have ever seen in my life!!!!! Huge rip off. I felt disrespected but I know it wasn’t intentional. I just will never order food from there again smh

Great falafel bowl. Very fresh ingredients and good variety of toppings. Both the red and green sauces were great (don’t remember the name of the sauces). Highly recommend the honey walnut baklava, sooo tasty!

This place has a very authentic Mediterranean food with all fresh ingredients. Taste was amazing, we ordered chicken shawarma plate and a build your own pita. Amazing and quick service. The staff was very friendly and it’s a grocery store too if you wanna pick up something to cook by yourself!!! I would rate it 5/5 for taste, cost and qty!!!

Ordered some food to go. The staff was so kind and really took their time going over all the questions I had. Everyone was so welcoming! On top of the exceptional service and atmosphere, the food was delicious

We absolutely love this place! My husband used to work in Saudi Arabia and he says that the food here is very similar to what he used to eat there. He always orders the Chicken Shawarma, while I prefer their Kofta Kabab Plate. Both dishes are extremely delicious, but the real standout is their Falafel. I have never tasted such amazing Falafel before! Additionally, my husband noted that their chicken wings taste very similar to the ones from Broaster Chicken in Saudi Arabia. We highly recommend giving this place a try as all of their food is Halal-certified!

Their falafel is so good and moist unlike most falafel I've had before it tends to be dry but not theirs! Will be back for more!

I went get for the first time today... well, I entered the establishment for the first time today. I've taken my mom here to get things a few times. I must say that I loved the food. My mom really liked the food from the kitchen and she is really, really picky when it comes to food... especially when she likes a certain type of food. She's buys from the market, but didn't want to eat from the kitchen this time from a bad experience a while back, but absolutely loved the food this time. I typically cannot comment much on food quality because I'm fine with most edible things, but this food was even really good to me. The service, which is my favorite part of any experience was great here too. There was a line forming so one of the guys working went and got a pen and pad and started taking care of the people in the line. That's pro-active and shows that they value their customers. He gave me a menu because he saw me looking at the menu in the kitchen. I like that kind of attention. It's actually why we went back in to eat after doing the normal market purchase.

I've been here 3 times now with my oldest son and a review was over due. The flavors here take me back 15 years ago. Sigh.. When he was 8 years old we would go on trips to TKD tournaments to Davies, Ca and we used to stop for Gyro sandwiches in this cute little spot near the college. Aladdin's reminds us of that traditional Mediterranean food we had on our trips there but this place takes it up a notch with all the products you find here. From Harissa sauce to home made dolmas and pistachio Baklava,this place is full of surprises. When we visit Aladdin's we order the Gyros (beef and lamb mix) sandwich. It comes in a pita type of bread with green lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and a yogurt based sauce. I like a little spice in mine so I ask for the red spicy sauce. The service is always quick and the ladies taking your order will help you with suggestions. They have 3 small tables indoors to enjoy your meals or there are picnic benches outside the building too. Stop by and explore this quaint little spot in Reno. You'll keep going back for more!

My husband has been raving about this place lately since coming here for lunch. I still have yet to try the food, but came here to pick-up a variety of sweet treats for my Book Club. The lady that helped me was really nice and was kind enough to help me make a selection. The desserts are made on-site and tasted really delicious and fresh. The market side is stocked with products from all over the Middle East. I didn't have alot of time to explore, but definitely will when I return. I also look forward to trying the food. Really cool place!

The shopping side is so cool to explore. You can get pita from Lebabnon, Israel, etc. Love the Lebanese dried olives and the Saudi cookies. They even have Lavash bread if you're into making Armenia style sandwiches. The baklava game here is hardcore, many varieties and nations respresented, TRY THE ALL! For the deli side, and shawarma or plate will be amazing, I promise! The Kibbeh with Toum or Harissa will make your toes curl either joy. The salads and sice combos do well. The pita and hummus is excellent. Nice people and great food, TAKE MY MONEY!!!! :)

A hidden gem! Amazing local market with a cafe menu as well. Gyro was amazing- meat was more flavorful than other places and you pick your own toppings and sauces. Big potions and super friendly local owners. Will definitely be back! You can tell this place is made with love :)

Service is always great and food always hits the spot. Gyro and fries are my favorite go to.

Aladdin's has become a signature middle-eastern food place in Reno. They do not serve a whole lot but whatever the items you see on the menu - all of them are too good. All of the people are super nice - no complains on service. They still have the corners to have food. You can also shop middle-eastern items. Clean space overall. I completely forgot the name of the item, but they have a dried mango pulpy food in front of the counter - that is something too good as a healthy desert item. This is my second review of Aladdin's, but 5 stars on both occasions.

Quality/Quantity - Both a grocery store and a hot deli. Chicken Shawarma Plate with Lentil Soup - My wife and I both got the chicken shawarma. Not typical flavors/herbs I am familiar with. I can't even describe it. It was not bad. I did like the lentil soup, and if you are following, you know I don't even like soups. Chicken Shawarma Sandwich - Same/similar as above. Just the right size for one person, well for one light eater. The plate looks much more appetizing rather than the sandwich, see pictures. But it tasted exactly the same. I look forward to coming back and trying some of your other dishes which might better suit me. Atmosphere - Beautiful paint job, not sure how recent it is...? See pictures. Semi open kitchen, mostly covered with the grocery items, shelving, etc. Outdoor dining only today; see pictures. Good size one unisex restroom. Plenty of private parking as there were only 3-4 of us here today. One car parked on the wrong side of the lot and it confused everyone.... Across the street from Fox Brewery; see picture. Can you believe my wife actually wanted to go there instead. Open 7 days a week from 10am to 7pm (kitchen hours are from 11am to 7pm). Service - Good. Price - $27 + generous tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2014.

Old y, but still a goody. I came here for their Aladdin Plate (Chicken, beef, rice, pita, hummus, & tabouli salad). Plus I also ordered the falafel appetizer. This meal was way more than enough for less than $25. The food didn't disappoint one bit. The chicken was packed with flavor and beef kofta was tender. The tabouli salad was refreshing & the falafels were like extra flavorful hush puppies lol. I loved all of it. I was so full, but decided to order one of each baklava + an almond cake. My personal fave was the almond baklava. The sweetness was subtle and it was perfectly crispy.

8/22/2024- In the area..(actually stopped in across the street).. and the staff said the food was really good.. Walked in and my son went straight to the deli.. Lots of grocery items.. coffees, pastries herbs and spices.. Ordered the lentil soup- son devoured it.. Falafel plate- he enjoyed especially the rice- Gyro- as big as a burrito!.. Also picked up some double pistachio baklava and a semolina treat..and walnut baklava.. Purchased a side container of tzatziki .. So glad to have enjoyed this experience!!

The place was tidy, i had beef kabobs and they were so yummy!! Hummus was excellent. But what stood out more to me was not the speed of your cashier, but the ladies in the kitchen. They smiled and were ready to assist at all moments.

A darling little international market with foods from the Mediterranean! I needed Bulgarian feta to make a few batches of Tiropetes and Aladdin's market was the best option to buy this in larger quantities. Not sure if other markets in the area sell Bulgarian feta, but Aladdin's was my first thought. While there I stocked up on a few other essentials like ghee, fresh and canned dolmas, Turkish coffee, fresh hummus, and several boxes of filo dough to make my tiropetes. I also placed an order for Shawarma Fries, which we've had many times from Aladdin's. They are so insanely yummy and often one serving is enough for two meals. Well worth the trip into midtown to pick up. A wonderful little shop and addition to Reno. If you haven't been in for the shawarma fries then you are missing out, but the market is a nice little treat as well!

We ordered takeout from Aladdin's for lunch yesterday after finding them on Yelp. The parking was easy as I arrived at 11:40. Since we had never been here before we decided to over-order so we could try different options. The hubby ordered the Falafel platter with a Greek salad and I ordered the Gyro platter with a Greek salad. As I walked around the market waiting on our food, I found their offerings of baklava! I went back to the register and Jeannie took my order for a house baklava and an almond bar. The baklava was outstanding...I must go back and get more. The platter portions were quite large and we had enough leftover to have lunch again today. The falafel was light and fluffy, not dense and the rice was a good accompaniment. The Gyro meat was tender and very flavorful with Tzatziki sauce on top and pita triangles to go with the hummus that comes with it. The Greek salad dressing was really good too! I can't wait to go back because there are so many other items on the menu that I want to try!

I was talking to a friend about when I went to Egypt and had chicken Shawarma. Through yelp I found Aladdin's and I went there for lunch. Aladdin's is a market/deli but it has a few tables inside and a few benches outside. You order at the front register and a large menu is on the wall behind the counter. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate which comes with hummus/small pita bread slices, saffron rice, chicken and a side. I ordered the Greek salad as the side. As I told one of the owners of my last experience with chicken shawarma she told me it was a family Jordanian recipe from her husband's family. I received my order very quickly. I ate the Greek salad first which came with a house dressing which was fantastic and the greens were very fresh. The hummus was traditional and very tangy and refreshing. The family recipe chicken shawarma was WOW so flavorful and way better than the one I had in Egypt. The saffron rice was also nice and fluffy. The portion was a good size to the point where I took some home. The is definitely a place I will return to. Highly recommended!!!

Reno's hidden Mediterranean gem, especially for good shawarma and baklava, all made in-store and for a quick bite! Also, all within a fabulous market that you can browse and get some great ingredients and snacks, all for a bargain. The store itself is cute and welcoming, and we were greeted by the sweetest woman, she shared that she was from Turkey! The food was fabulous, it was cooked and curated with the original spices that we have been looking for. I opted for the chicken shawarma and my husband got the beef shawarma. Both were absolutely delicious, and so filling. There was so much packed into our breads, that the filling kept falling out! Regardless, it was absolutely something to look forward to and the marinated meat gave us something that felt good and authentic. Additionally, what review would be completed without mentioning the baklava? We opted for the chocolate with pistachio baklava, and I'm still craving it! It was so delicious, and everything that I ever wanted from a fresh baklava. We can't wait to get the bigger pieces! All in all, if you're in midtown and looking for some good food, stop right in for a quick bite here. I couldn't recommend it enough.

we are big Big BIG fans of Aladdin's. My dad wanted a good restaurant and likes more untraditional places with traditional food so i brought him here. I love the shopping and bakery while you wait for your food. and my dad did too! it is so fun to pick up some new kitchen staples while waiting for your meal. the workers are all kind and helpful when it comes to choosing meal selections. i get falafel every time since i love how crispy and delicious they are! there are only four double seating tables so be sure to get there early to grab a chair and table! it's a grocery store and restaurant so it is a little untraditional but everything is tasty. my new favorite is the chicken shawarma fries!

I love this restaurant. The food here is amazing. This time around I made it in about 30 minutes before closing time. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate and it filled me up. The flavor is fantastic. I've probably come here 5 or 6 times over the past few years and it's always wonderful. Tonight I made the trip from South Lake Tahoe just to eat here. If you haven't already given them a try, I highly recommend it.

Six stars out of five! My family and I went to go eat here and it was really good! I had the kofta kabob, and was hella good. Would definitely come back. I didn't get the name of the man working in the front but he was super nice and chill. Thanks again.!

Aladdin's is such a. Treasure in our community. I've longed for the food of the Middle East here and Aladdin's does it for me. I said Middle East, not Mediterranean and that's because they're similar but distinct and if you taste them enough I promise you'll know and appreciate it. My order here is always the same. Chicken shawarma plate with tabouleh and all the things like babaganoush, hummus, garlic sauce, veg etc. I'd never ordered a shawarma bowl before my last visit, and that was basically the same except now I can see all the glorious toppings you can add AND all of their sauces too! I added the green hot sauce to my bowl and it was literally what my life was missing, so I am beyond grateful to have discovered it and hope they'll package it for sale like their baba and hummus because I want it at home! And what's even better? Shopping the amazing selection of products in the market while waiting for your food to be ready and chatting with Radi and his team to learn all about it! Get here! Found this place on yelp and what a terrific surprise! When one walks in the door, the smell of the kitchen is overwhelmingly delicious and made me salivate. I ordered a gyro and a grape leaves to go. The meat and the Gyro was so tender and juicy. The best one I've ever had! Salt grape leaves were also very very good. And sauce with them was perfect. This is my new go to place for Mediterranean food! My bad I ate everything before I took any pictures!

Went there to grab take out for dinner. I have always been a fan of shawarma, one of my staples throughout my college days and beyond. This place was good. We ordered the beef shawarma sandwich, the beef plate, the shawarma chicken fries and the dolmas. The taste was superb. I think any shawarma lovers out there would approve. The chicken fries had fries buried under a mount of tasty chicken. The only one that didnt catch my fancy was the dolmas which had a burst of flavor combination that was a bit too intense for my palate. The restaurant part is a part of a small grocery store that specialize in middle east and mediterranean goods. The service was fast. There are tables to sit down at but it's really designed for take out. Sandwich is on the expensive side, being 10.99. I recommend for the taste and quality.

Incredible market, amazing grocery food selection, great place for halal meats, amazing prepared food, sometimes a bit spicy for my palate tho, super friendly and heartwarming people. I suppose my only feedback is that I find the hours somewhat inconvenient. I keep forgetting how late they open. Especially in the summer when the sun is up before 6. I have driven there from way across town to get special bulk pricing on things like olive oil and rice and tahini - and I forget to check the time and I'm there like a half hour too early usually between 10-10:45 and end up leaving and choosing to buy stuff somewhere else. So it's a great place to shop and eat if you can catch them open.

I'm Persian and from Vegas, where there are actual Persian restaurants. There's no Persian food in Reno, but Aladdin's has given me a spot for delicious desserts and yummy kabob! The employees are always kind. I love that this spot is a little mom and pop type of shop. Support these types of local restaurants!

Being of Middle Eastern background, I was not impressed by the taste of the hummus, the chicken shwarma and the beef shwarma were not of the name shwarma. It was as if the meats were grilled and put together. The falafel was delicious with the garlic sauce. I have to say the grocery store was well kept and filled with Middle Eastern herbs, and canned foods. Great customer service from the Philipina lady.

Not just a market. I'm late to game for this business. I thought it was small market that I didn't need. But after several travels abroad the last couple of years, I headed into Aladdin for the flavors I was craving. Not just a market, there's a deli too. Eastern Mediterranean food is made fresh to order. The shawarma fries are shareable. Huge order of French fries topped with seasoned beef pieces, Mediterranean salsa, tzatziki sauce, and cucumber slices. Four different hummus's are the creamiest I've ever had. The dolmas are perfection, light lemony rice in grape leaves and olive oil, and just the right size to snack on. There are also sandwiches, pits and salads on the menu. There's a couple of tables to eat in at in the corner. But when I do actually want to cook, the market area has a fabulous selection of Mediterranean spices, sauces, teas, and canned and jarred products. And a nice selection of frozen items. They have their own small parking lot and some street parking. Credit card accepted- tap or swipe.

Nice spot in midtown to swing by for some delicious mid eastern food and groceries! The service is great and the price is reasonable.

Some of my favorite food is mediterranean and its hard to find some here in Reno. Heard about a market that also sells food and decided to come try it. Aladdin's did not disappoint and so excited that Reno has a place for some delicious authentic Mediterranean food. While waiting for your food, you can walk around see what the market has to offer. Ordered the Chicken shawarma wrap and Shawarma fries. The seasoning of the chicken is very good. The wrap is a good size and it contains all the veggies and special sauce. The fries were also loaded with tons of yummy flavors and same tender chicken the wrap used. For dessert we ordered some pistachio baklava. It was a good amount of sweetness and lots of pistachios on them. The staff was nice and attentive. If you are looking for mediterranean food you gotta check this place out!

The owner (?) is a super nice person he took his time and showed me a few things around the store. The falafel plate is delicious. I like grabbing this to go and eating it while having a picnic outside.

This place has delicious shawarmas!! And the portion size is so big. I got the lamb shawarma with red onions and it hit the spot!!

I wish I tried this place sooner! Cute, clean, little restaurant + market on Holcomb and Wonder. I ordered dinner to go since I was in the area. I put in the order on the way there and it was ready when I came to pick up, it took less than 10 mins! Talk about speedy service. The gentleman, which I believe is the owner was really sweet, I want to dine in just to have more conversations with him. We ordered the beef shawarma plate and kofta kabob plate, each for $13.99. The entrees also came with a Greek salad on the side. The portion of the food was more than enough, I had leftover beef for lunch the next day. The kofta kabob was full of flavor, and the salad dressing was sweet but tangy. I would like a bottle of that for all my salads. I'm going to make it a point to come out here more often. I'd really like to browse the market as well. Thank you Aladdin's for the fast service & yummy food!

Got take out, my husband picked it up for me when I was at renown. Cole to hospital. I got the lentil soup and chicken. The hummus was one of the most delicious hummus's I've ever had! The rice was yummy, the chicken was heavily seasoned, just not what I'm used to for Mediterranean. Everything was good, I would go back.

What a great little find! Tried the samosas and mixed plate with a Greek salad. So yummy! We will definitely be back the next time we're in town!

There are a Turkish market and also serves food. We ordered lamb salad and lamb giro. Giro was huge. They gave us complimentary tea. After lunch we went for their pastries. They are some variation of baklava with nuts inside. We also pickup some tea, Turkish coffee and grape leaf wrapped rice, in a can.

Best Mediterranean in Reno- bar none! When we went they were having some issues with the kitchen and only had falafel prepped- still very good! The market has a mixture of products- fresh, pre packed, shelved and frozen. Lots of goodness awaits! Food is reasonably priced and the service was friendly!

5 stars for the market. An abundance of great groceries you can't find anywhere else. The kitchen is also really yummy. 4.5 stars for the gyro, just because it's not the best I've ever had... But it's pretty darn good. Love the dolmas and samosas. I always get takeout from here as the ambiance isn't for me, and I live extremely close by. The food is pretty quick, and everyone is friendly. I just moved closer to this spot, so I will be eating here a lot!

This is my first time having this place or this type of food. I'm usually very picky with food. But wanted to try something new and let me tell you! I'm so happy I did! I ordered online and got a mix of things.I looked at everyone's reviews online and everyone raves about the Dolmas, I could eat those forever! I didn't even look up what they were just saw everyone saying how yummy they were. I'm so impressed! I got the sampler plate and it was so good! The portion of food was great I had yummy leftovers for almost two days. I also really enjoyed the garlic sauce. I want a bottle of it. Anyway to sum it up, I can't wait to order more!

I've already left a review about how amazing this place is. But I have to add onto it. This past weekend was my gender reveal. Although my family is middle eastern we didn't have time to cook for everyone and plan everything, so we catered from Aladdin's market. The process was soooooo easy. They again like always were so professional and friendly. It's now the middle of the week and I'm still hearing from people about how delicious everything was especially the chicken Shawarma. We got rice, pita bread, shawarma & tabouli. Everyone loved it, it was a super big hit. I would 100% cater from them again everything was packaged nicely and looked beautiful. They were on time with our pick up time. If you're not catering I just recommend to go in and try all the food, it definitely won't disappoint!!

I visited Aladdin's several years back. It was just a Mediterranean grocery when I was there last, so it has been awhile. It's well stocked, very neat and seems to be kept clean. I noticed that it can get quite busy with food to go and is getting increasingly popular. I was interested in trying their food for awhile. There is a large illuminated menu board on the opposite side of the kitchen . The cashier takes the orders for the kitchen and also is the same counter for buying the groceries. I didn't find the woman particularly friendly or engaging. She also serves the food. But doesn't communicate much. She did say ,Enjoy.. and that was it. No points for being friendly. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate, it came with rice, hummus and choice of salad or soup also a few triangles of pita bread. I believe the salad choices are tabouli or Greek salad and the soup is Lentil. I chose the lentil soup which when eating it didn't find many lentils. It was served very hot and a little spicy . The chicken is a marinated and generally done with lemon, garlic , cumin, paprika and maybe turmeric. It had a yogurt sauce drizzled over the chicken. It had a unique flavor. The rice seemed to be seasoned with turmeric because of the yellow color. It was descent. The hummus was nice but the pita was dry and not pillowy .The portion was generous. Everything is served in to go containers. Seating is about four tables with two chairs each. Seems there was a high standing table as well. People shopping for grocery items are wandering aisles as I was eating. That's fine, after all they do more To go than eat in. There are different and assorted baklava in a case that looked wonderful in the kitchen area. All in all it was an ok meal. I tried it out but probably won't go back to eat again I'll use it for the groceries and baklava next time. As a store I'd give five stars, not the same for the food.

Placed a large order over the phone and the woman who took it made it so easy! When I went to pick up I was surprised by the variety of unique foods and ingredients in the market itself. The food was absolutely delicious, I had the fries with the chicken on top. The garlic sauce and the baba ghanoush was a great addition and they definitely don't skimp on food. Everyone working there was so nice!

This place is amazing! Came here to get some food to-go to take outside to a park. Ended up building my own bowl with rice, greens, chicken/falafel mix and all the fixings. The end result was DELICIOUS. Lots of mediterranean flavor and the various sauces they provide are really great as well. There's a few small tables inside if you choose to eat in. Also tried the fries with the feta and it was a delicious little combo/snack. Highly recommend Aladdin's Market if you're looking for a quick healthy meal!

I love this place! They make such delicious food and is the best spot for Mediterranean food in Reno. The environment/place can get crowded since it is also a market which makes it hard to dine. Everybody is so nice and welcoming every time i stop by to get food.
