The Best Drive-In Movie Theaters in the SF Bay Area | Eater SF

"The grassy fairgrounds are usually home to the hundred-year-old county fair, but instead of rides and games, cars are pulling in for fun movies this year. Movies have included Clueless and Hairspray over the summer, and Sleepy Hollow for Halloween. What to snack: Food trucks will be in attendance, selling barbecue, churros, and candy." - Becky Duffett

*"Breathtaking Drone and Fireworks Show!"* I just witnessed the most incredible drone and fireworks show! The synchronization of the drones with the music was perfect, creating patterns and shapes in the sky that left everyone breathless. The fireworks added a magical touch, illuminating the sky with dazzling colors and shapes. The organization and execution of the show were impeccable, with attention to detail that was noticeable every moment. The excitement and enthusiasm of the crowd were palpable, and I myself felt thrilled and amazed by the beauty of the show. *Highlights:* - Perfect synchronization of drones and music - Impressive fireworks - Impeccable organization and execution *Recommendation:* - Don't miss this show if you're a fan of technology and pyrotechnics - Bring a camera to capture incredible moments - Enjoy the show with friends and family to share the excitement) "Best Fair Ever! I just visited the fair and it was amazing! The food was incredible, with so many options to try. The games and attractions were super fun, and I even won some cool prizes! The atmosphere was electric, with live music and a lively crowd. I had a blast with my friends and family, and we'd definitely come back next year. Highlights: - Delicious fair food - Fun games and attractions - Great atmosphere and live music Must-try's - Classic Turkey leg , BBQ ribs *Pro tip:* - Arrive late to beat the crowds and the heat and enjoy the best food and games.

Both of the dance studios I work at were performing on different stages on different days. Employees were not helpful nor were they able to point me in the direction I needed to go. The maps were not much help, but eventually I figured it out. My dancers and the stage worked out well, but it gets really hot there so hydrate and wear comfy walking shoes.

Atmosphere & Venue The Cuervo Amphitheater at the Alameda County Fairgrounds delivers a phenomenal mix of festival energy and fairground charm. With a 3,000-seat amphitheater and plenty of grassy areas, you’ll find a great view and vibe no matter where you sit . Even if tickets sell out, sitting beyond the amphitheater near the lawn still offers solid sound and atmosphere . 🎸 Star-Studded Lineup This year’s lineup is 🔥: • WAR kicked off opening night on June 13 • Gym Class Heroes, Many ’80s/’90s favorites—Air Supply (June 19), Sugar Ray (20), Tesla (July 2), and more • Too $hort brought Bay Area hip-hop energy on June 25 • Colbie Caillat serenaded on June 27 • Classic rock and tribute acts like Steve Augeri (ex-Journey) rounded out the series Concerts run nightly at 8 PM (no show July 4), often followed by spectacular drone-light shows, and fireworks on select nights . 🍿 Extras & Fair Perks Beyond the music, the fair packs in hot air balloon rides, pig-racing, FMX stunt shows, rodeo, action sports, and food galore—from corndogs to funnel cakes—with fun themes and contests like the new “Foodie’s Choice” . 💸 Pricing & Logistics Advance concert tickets ranged from ~$15–65; fair admission is about $17.60 (advance) to $19.80 (onsite), plus ~$13–15 parking . Bring a lawn chair, stay for a great show, and enjoy carnival rides (extra cost)—easily worth it for one night out

One of the best fair! Good food, great price for the bracelet on the rides, a lot of activities for everyone on the family, spe ial events, great weather, hot but breeze, also bring a sweater for the late ride is kind of chill. Fast passes recommended. Save a lot of time. Get there as soon as they open for the whole family experience. Good time

This year was my first time at The Alameda County Fair. I normally go to Santa Cruz or Santa Clara County fairs due to proximity. This fair is far better than those fairs just for the amount of seating there is and in the shade! Lots of consideration for the parents waiting for their kids on rides. Tons of food options. Movies, concerts, monster trucks! We had a blast. Oh and the rides are super fast and fun.

First and last time coming to this fair. False advertising and no response when I reached out to them. They were promoting $5.50 tickets on a Wednesday along with $1 carnival rides. It ended up being $1.18 per ticket and each ride needs at least 4 tickets ($4-$5+ per ride). On top of that, parking is $15-$25 if you want preferred parking, and the food/drinks (as expected) is expensive and not great. I got a $7 lemonade and it was nasty... could have at least given me a fanta?! Sure, these attractions are expensive by nature, but I felt scammed coming here. Only thing I did appreciate is how long the rides are. They do at least 4 rounds, which was fun for my daughter. But was it worth the effort to bring my family of 4 and money? Definitely not.
