Best Rooftop Patios in Dallas | Eater Dallas

"This rustic little patio has one of the city’s greatest views of Downtown. It’s off the beaten track for rooftop patio seekers, and drinkers are likely to find they have it all to themselves. The whole Glass Half Full Taproom menu features classic cocktails and Texas brews, plus light bites from the kitchen. Inside, there are karaoke nights. The rooftop patio, which is decked out in mostly iron and wooden furniture, with some coverage from the elements, is not fancy by any means; it’s just one with a damn good view and no cover charge to get in." - Amy McCarthy

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is a movie experience like no other. The lobby bar makes the wait before the film genuinely enjoyable. The architecture brings back the charm of classic theaters, with a unique atmosphere and an outstanding visual identity. Everything feels thoughtfully designed for true movie lovers. The highlight is being able to order food and drinks right from your seat, with a menu that’s far more varied than most other theaters. Just a heads-up: an 18% service charge is added to your check, but the quality of service makes it worth it. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a special and high-quality cinema experience.

While dealing with an active shooter incident at Kay Bailey, Alamo Drafthouse allowed many cheerleaders and families to shelter and hide while they locked the doors to protect everyone inside. I can never thank them enough because my daughter was one of the cheerleaders who had been running while my husband and I stayed in the building to try and stop the threat and get people out (we are first responders). You allowed these strangers into your back rooms and allowed them to hide until it was all clear and you definitely did not have to do that. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I will forever be grateful for your heroic actions that day.

So, some of my friends and i went to go see I Know What You Did Last Summer recently. Being a super fan of the original, I put my IKWYDLS themed windshield cover up before going in to enjoy the film. I guess some staff noticed my vehicle, because when I came out, there was a note on my windshield saying to "go to the box office for a gift" from management. They gifted me a badass poster and some other swag. It was incredibly cool, and i just love this theater for doing stuff like that! Plus, the food, service, and whole atmosphere is a solid 10!!!

The food tastes good but the quantity is very less for the price. I got the cauliflower. There were 8 cauliflowers and fries. The boozy milkshake was delicious but also small. Yummy. Lots of alcohol on the menu!! Yay.

The last two times I’ve been, the service has been super slow. Both times it took over 40 minutes just to get simple drinks like water or a beer. One visit, our food took over an hour. I think it got comped, but no one told us anything, no apology, no explanation. We just asked a random server about our tab, and he said, “Oh, y’all don’t have one.” Most recently, during the Fantastic 4 Thursday showing, I didn’t even order food because of what happened last time. I just ordered a beer and two waters, and even that took forever. 30 minutes for the beer and 40 minutes for water. I liked the beer, so I tried ordering another one, but no one picked up my paper order for a long time. Then, 20 minutes later, they brought me my tab, but it only had the one beer on it. No one said anything about not taking more orders or why the second drink never came. Honestly, super disappointing. I think I’ll just go to SMG next time even if it’s farther. (Would be 1 star but the screens are nice)

Generally speaking, I'm still a fan of this location since the reopening. The service has taken a big leap forward, particularly the smaller theaters in the back where service used to be non-existent. The reclining seats are great. Food is good, even if a little overpriced. Drinks are fairly priced, and there's always a good selection of drafts and cocktails. The bartenders at the upstairs bar are always awesome and fun to talk to. But as for the bar's hours, they are just suggestions now. Might be open before or after your movie, but maybe not. "It just depends," said one employee when I asked about it. So there is that. Overall, it's still a good experience.

Summary: Kevin and Brianna Bell at Alamo Drafthouse 1005 S. Lamar Street told me their theater "isn't for everyone" and refused to sell me a ticket today😑 wanted to share my Google review and experience to warn anyone else. I drove 30 minutes to see Life of Chuck and ended up parking across the street. I'm a mom and recently had surgery so outings alone like this are rare and I was excited to go (this was the closet theater playing the movie). I entered through the back door and was shown very nicely where to go up front for my ticket. Kevin at the ticket counter of Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar took a look at me and then refused to sell me a movie ticket saying the movie started 3 (three) minutes ago! I told him I didn't mind the 3 minutes as I'd driven 30 minutes to get there, and honestly thought he was joking around with me. But he flat out refused my entry and said I should come back in 3 hours for the next showing. I was in disbelief and asked for a supervisor; Brianna Bell arrived. They both doubled down saying this was a corporate policy and they told me and I quote that "their theater isn't for everyone". Brianna Bell said I should go to their competitor across the street. When I asked what the information was for corporate they both said they didn't have it but handed me a card for their general manager, Eric Hawkins, who they said was not available. I have never been treated this way. I thought it was a joke but they were serious. I also am offended by the statement "our theater is not for everyone". I am AA woman in the South, and saying that, even it's not the intention, has strong and hurtful implications. Both Brianna Bell and Kevin were vaguely polite but absolutely and completely uncaring and lacked any empathy . I asked why they would hurt tickets sales and future business and customers with the way the movie industry has struggled recently. I will never be a patron of this company again. Update: I called the number on the cards but no one answered, no voicemail option. I emailed the GM; waiting to hopefully hear back. **I looked it up online and although I had never heard of this before, ever from any movie theater, Alamo Drafthouse actually really does have a policy to decline patrons if late. I genuinely did not know this. They want you to be 30 minutes early for movies or you can be declined and they generally don't allow any children under 6 except certain circumstances. I still think the way it was stated should have had more awareness and empathy, the statement "our theater is not for everyone" is still hurtful&triggering**

To the dude working the back row of Weapons last night 8/8/25- they were not going to pick you just because you decided to be nicer to the group next to us. Maybe you should learn to treat every guest the same- regardless on if you’re interested what they have to say. Good thing I wasn’t in charge of your tip. :) Gross behavior.

Yelp
Woohoo, Alamo Drafthouse is back, baby! They've moved beyond the closure of the previous owner, and they are open again. We went to see Alien: Romulus here. They were doing a promo for coming back, so the tickets were under $7! Comfortable seats, though they do not fully recline the leg portion elevates. Theaters wasnt too packed, still had their full food/drink menu on offer and generally had a great time. Will definitely be back to my favorite theater the next time I want to catch another flick on the big screen.

Yelp
The food is excellent along with the service, but they have got to update these seats. The leather has worn off the arms. The reclining features have been removed except for the front row. And most seats, particularly the middle ones, are so worn you drop into the sunken place when you watch the movie. Who wants to do that for 2 hours.! Sometimes my back bothers me. I carry a cushion, but had I forgotten it, I would've been miserable in my sest - it had sooo much give. The movie was sold out, so I couldn't move. Alamo, upgrade those seats! Renovatoons and replacements are needed. But back to the food. Tried the Omnivore pizza and made it angry. My kinda pizza! Thin and crispy, piled with flavor. I love supreme with veggies and this was it! Also added a side salad. And we also got the Royale Cheeseburger, which comes with bacon and Fish n Chips. That was the best fish n chips I have had. It had the right balance of batter and fish plus it wasn't greasy. The sauce that came with it was bomb as well! Fries were all hot and fresh. Really enjoyed the food! Another necessary improvement would be the dining table trays; they need to be individual. Not everyone comes in pairs, and not every patron is kind and courteous on a shared table. It can be uncomfortable. I'd love to see them undergo some updates to get back to a 5-star theater experience.

Yelp
Came here to watch the Barbie movie. The place was decked out with photo opportunities, and brand merchandise. The theater was okay, the chairs were a bit worn out, and not the most comfortable. I didn't like that was a little confusing to order food, especially having to write in the dark. The food however was bomb. I had the pizza with jalapeños and it was so good, I ordered another. I shared loaded fries with my cousin and they were also really good. For the Barbie movie they had a pink cocktail, which was average but it was nice and pink and came with its own themed menu. One thing I do appreciate is the complimentary water on table. Overall I would come here again.

Yelp
I don't live far but, Alamo has been my favorite for years. It's small, close, and the service is good. Yesterday, not so much. I came to see Beetlejuice. We were there before the film began and attempted to order with 5 min of seating. It took 20 min to gain a servers attention. The film was at 3:25. We were still sitting after the cleaning crew came which was almost 6pm. No one ever brought us our tab. I said something to three people about the issue and 2 of the three found some humor after I said something. We were literally sitting there with all of the lights on. One person apologized. Upset was an understatement. It shouldn't take almost 30 min to pay. And our food came way before out alcohol which was watered down because it was obviously just sitting. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all. I pass up two theaters to get to Alamo and was excited about it opening again but, after my experience yesterday, I don't know how I feel about visiting again. Those employees need more training.

Yelp
My 2nd time in. 1st time was ok. I wanted to see Civil War and figured I'd go back to this theater. Everything was cool except for the fact that it takes forever to get food and drinks (even tho there were about 6 people in our showing) Fast forward to why I'm leaving 3 stars.... on 4/19 I went over my bank statements and see that my charge cleared for $66. I only spent $56 and didn't tip because I didn't like the service. So I call over and ask about the charge. I'm told by management that any unsigned receipts get charged an auto 18% (which I was already aware of as it's posted on the bar) Only issue is, I signed my receipt. So why charge me if I signed it? Management Emails me a copy of my "original" receipt (wasn't the original) and states that since I didn't sign, they added auto added 18% ($10.12) . When I got my receipt (half way through the movie) I looked over my amount, wrote $0 in the tip area and then wrote the exact amount of $56 and a few cents and signed my name. Now either your servers forgot and never came for my SIGNED receipt or they're just being shady and if someone leaves $0 tip, y'all just reprint the receipt to charge a gratuity. Well sorry but not over here. Again, I left $0 tip because my service was crap and I didn't want to tip for the service I received. This is a suggestion coming from a manager in customer service: I suggest additional training in service for your workers and in management since she wasn't much help and seemed condescending and made me feel as if I was lying. Anyways, Manager said she had too many other things to do and didn't want to argue the fact, and to give my card info to the front desk. I just got my refund and won't be back unfortunately. I recommend that y'all double even TRIPLE check your receipts if you come here. *attached is the alleged "original" receipt that was reprinted and added 18% to.

Yelp
I went here to watch the little mermaid, and it did not disappoint. The bartenders were attentive, and my drink was strong and by the time I went to movies I was just in such a happy mood. It was amazing. I really do like the aesthetic of this place, it made me feel comfortable it was different and it made the movie and whole experience different. I did have a little bites and they were really good as well.

Yelp
Pretty sure this is the "Cedar" location off Botham. Same phone number I called listed here, and it says "Lamar street" Anyway. Parking : ew. Small parking lot BEHIND the venue. I say behind, because the doors are exit only, and you'll have to walk around. There's street parking (limited) and another parking lot across from the parking behind the venue. I ended up parking here and walking to where I thought I could get in. Nope. Exit only, so I had to walk around the side. Entry: it was different. There was no one there to check my pre- bought ticket. I did approach the ticket area and told her I already purchased. She told me to go ahead. Didn't really verify anything. I just walked right on in. Maybe short staffed idk. Theater : old. Seats were peeling. Sat at the top row at the ONLY single seating. Others are SHARED SPACES. There is ONE eating table per two seats. I just happened to view the searing and saw one seat by itself, so I grabbed it. There was a charger by this seat too. I don't know if it worked. I couldn't imagine sitting with a stranger, sharing a table, so I'm glad I got this seat. You just walk right up the stairs and directly to this seat, no having to say excuse me or anything. Service: ehhh. I only tipped because it's standard. There is no button to press for service. It's very old school, writing your order on a paper and putting it in the little "paper holder" and hopping someone pays attention. When I got there, the papers were already there, so I'm not sure how a waiter can differentiate if you want to order or not. Very archaic. No one checked up on me after I was served. Food: Royale with cheese. I didn't know it was a burger. Limited brisket on it. It was dark, so idk. $17. If was decent enough. I was hungry. I would opt for something different next time. No picture because it was dark in there. Movie was great. Wakanda Forever. This location is a little raggedy, though, so I wouldn't come back :) Bathrooms clean.

Yelp
Tuesdays is the way to go! 50% off means $7.50 admission. Service is excellent. They come to your seat, takes your order and returns promptly with your order. Prices are a bit high but I guess that's normal for a theater. The seats are outdated. The armrest of the chair I was sitting in was so worn out, but they are comfortable. We went again on a Friday and three adults and a. Five year old cost us $52.50!! So again, I would return on a Tuesday visit to make the cost of seeing a movie more affordable!

Yelp
We came with my husband's company for a family night out but it was all mishandled. I'd love to try again, but the movie started late, the previews/screen saver ended up giving my children nightmares and it was SO loud it was unpleasant. The food was great bar food so we will 100% try again but hoping for a better experience.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying this is a smaller location that someone of the other places I've been however Alamo if you are listening I need you to take note of a few things. The staff have always been super friendly, from purchasing tickets, getting food, and just getting to where I want to be however it's TIME to revamp these seats. Every time I come here I feel Like I'm squeezing into the seats, trying to read the menu and fill out the card feels like I'm back in school in one of those old desk and as a shorter person it seems to block my view. I'm constantly wanting to recline in a seat that doesn't recline. Please, I'm begging you, update these seats!! I want to enjoy the movie and be comfortable and currently that's not my situation here. It seems like the price of the food has gone up and the quality has gone down. It's almost like things are being popped into the microwave and called gourmet. Also the last visit when I asked about a refill I was told that they weren't doing that at this time. Yes the parking lot is small, however folks look where you are. This isn't a shopping mall or a strip mall, you are looking at downtown and for what it's worth the parking is free and I personally have never had an issue wit finding a place to park. It's great to have a theater without having to drive to the suburbs but I need y'all to get it together!!!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
This was my second time to this theater and we like it pretty well. The food situation is one of the things i like best. Full menu and you can order from your seat and they bring it to you. Genius. I just wish they had full on recliners. The people there are always nice and it's decently clean. This is probably the nicest theater the closest to our place so well keep going here.
google avatar

Greg N.

Yelp
Service was really good, couldn't of asked for a better ambiance at this theater. I did not try the food as I had just had breakfast.

Yelp
Was not expecting the silly previews/commercials. Made the experience so much more fun. The food was good too!

Yelp
Maybe the employee that stood in the aisle to stare at me and my kids for 5 uncomfortable minutes should have just come and addressed me rather than creeping me completely out. Apparently someone complained about one of my kids and he was watching to view their behavior (to see a family film.) I'm sorry, but in this era of mass shootings all I could imagine was "is this strange creepy man about to shoot up the theater?" We weren't doing anything wrong and we weren't removed. It rubbed me the wrong way entirely. I haven't been back.
google avatar

Rebekah P.

Yelp
Great vibe! Stopped at Vetted Well, above the theater for some beers and food. Definitely grab some loaded fries they were amazing!! Service was great and attentive. We didn't get to see a movie but will be back to check it all out.

Yelp
My husband and I patronized this cinema and give it a 6 out of 10. I've passed this place for years and finally went but not impressed, probably because we only went to watch a movie and didn't go to the other parts. We walked in and went straight to our theatre. We thought it was odd no one checked our tickets but the waiter asked to see it before he took our order....wonder if we hadn't ordered. Any way, the waiter was kind and explained the order process, we didn't know to write it on a paper then stick it in the table area for pickup. The seats were very worn, pleather was pealing and needed to be replaced. The seats barely reclined and I expected our feet to go up but nope. The movie was good, we ordered lemonade, wings and garlic Parmesan popcorn. Lemonade was good, nothing fancy. Wings were just okay but the popcorn was really good. Will probably go back just to see the rest of the place. The cinema needs new seats. Definitely 6 out of 10

Joe F.

Yelp
Is there no way to reach the theater directly every time I call this place it's like the phone dosent work??.....

Yelp
Our first time at Alamo Drafthouse Theater. And we love it there. Food and drinks are great, a little high price but its highly priced every where'd. It was so comfortable there. I'm in a wheelchair and I had plenty of room to stretch my legs out. This will be where we go to watch movies. Service is great. I'm glad we went there.

Yelp
Today I had the pleasure of going to see The Little Mermaid...btw 10 out of 10...would see again. But I had to review the location. 1st the location is prime, parking is plenty and this place for me very convenient. Now since the last time I visited years ago the place has aged. The seats were worn but still a lovely place to see a movie. Service was fine nothing overly super but ok services as expected. Drinks yep my drink was a 10 out of 10 Old Fashion. However I wanted the Italian 75 and they did not have any. Now here is where the food comes in and this is the reason for 3 stars and should have been 2 but the fried pickles saved the day...They were a definitely must have..crispy fried to perfection and cut like fench fries.. loved it.yes....Now I ordered fish and chips and yuck..yuco i took a bite of these hot undone battered fish I completely had to spit it out..the batter was still wet inside it completely ruined my experience. I surely hope that this was an error and not the norm but I honestly could never ilwoth a good mind order this ever again I am scar for life...imagine eating wet batter in the dark...do better. Anyway I may try another theater for transformers next week. Lucky there is another one close by downtown as well. Anyway not saying do not try the theater nor the drinks but careful on the fish

Yelp
So I found this spot because I was with a group of people who wanted to see the new Doctor Strange movie, but it was late, and the nearest place with available seats where we could make it was this one. Anyways, the person who greeted us was super nice and friendly; he made sure to explain how to order and such if it was our first time, and he also laid out the ground rules for being inside the theater, which I love because they have a strict policy on phones being used during the movie and try to minimize talking as much as possible. Which in return makes the watching experience much better. Nonetheless, due to those rules, I was unable to obtain photographs this time, but I was able to locate photographs taken by the establishment, so keep in mind that I am not claiming ownership of these photographs and giving them complete ownership of the fact that they were taken and owned by them. I'm only using them as a source of information. Now, the reason for my low rating is that, while the person who greeted us was quite pleasant, the employees who cleaned/picked up the plates if you purchased food were extremely rude. When we got up to leave at the end of the movie, three of them were staring at us, and one of them singled us out and yelled at us to pick up our trash and clean, despite the fact that we didn't have any trash and had only just gotten up, not to mention the fact that we were the only ones treated this way. Which not to be rude, but that is technically their job and what they are compensated for. In any case, it was odd that they cleaned up for everyone else and appeared polite to everyone but us. I'm not sure if they were angry because it was already late, but they had no reason to treat us that way. Furthermore, their seats are possibly the worst I've ever sat on; I'm not sure if it was just my theater room, but they were extremely old, like that old leather couch you'd toss away because it's decaying. It isn't accurately reflected in the photo because these aren't the chairs I sat on, but they do show the next problem I discovered. Which is that the seats had a recliner, but I'm not sure as to why because the chairs didn't recline at all due to a metal railing/wall right behind the seats, so it'd move about an inch and stop, as you can see in the photo, and it could only be in an upward position due to the wall/railing. (Credits to Sarita G. for the photo of the seats) So, if you're viewing a three-hour movie, these seats start to become unbearably unpleasant about the two-hour mark, at least for my tolerance level; however, everyone's tolerance level is different. Another thing I didn't like about the chairs is that there isn't a movable divider between them, so if you ever wanted to get a little romantic and cuddle with a special someone, it's nearly impossible due to the enormous arm rest and its inability to be moved. Overall, the only reason I didn't give this establishment a one-star rating is because the person who greeted us was quite friendly, but the remainder of the experience was quite unpleasant; for me, this cinema is one of those last-ditch alternatives. I'd be compelled to come here if I didn't have anywhere else to go, but I don't think I'd choose it as a first choice.

Yelp
When I got there I was impressed! The style of the theater was amazing it was very chill and well designed. And when I took a seat I was immediately impressed with how comfy those movie seats were. And the employees were so quick to get my orders in and that food was delicious . Everything was perfect there and im glad to say that I will be coming back!

Yelp
Tried the fried chicken sandwich and chips and queso. I'd re-order both. Helpful staff and polite. It was a little chilly, but wasn't a full theater.

Yelp
It's an aging theatre with great food service that is consistent. I have yet to get something I did not like. PS - bring back the French toast!

Yelp
Love their vintage movies and movie parties. Great for adults and kids! It's no wonder their reviews are all positive!

Yelp
This is me and my Fiancés favorite movie stop and every time the service is amazing, I'm not sure who was working the Monday night before Valentine's but the box office guy was so nice and helpful! Our food was amazing as always. So much nicer than a regular theater! Get the chicken sandwhich with Asian slaw it hits everytime!

Yelp
Honestly, wanted to give 0 stars. I have been to Alamo a couple of times, loved it and was about to sign up for Alamo Victory. After the experience I had tonight, that is a big no. I went out of my way to come to an early screening, drove what was supposed to take 35 minutes (from McKinney to Dallas), and was stuck in traffic for an hour due to 3 accidents on 75. Due to factors completely out of my control - I was 10 minutes late and refused entry. Regardless of the circumstances, and the fact that the movie had yet to start with trailers still on, the manager continued to point at the late policy on a poster (which was not listed as a theatre policy on Cedar's website). What a great movie going experience! Thanks Alamo.

Kristi L.

Yelp
Apps & drinks are delicious and you can't beat the view in this relaxed atmosphere! Great place to chill after works!

Yelp
Dirty, stinky and run down. The seats are peeling and the service is slow. I took my mother in law here to see the Barbie movie and I was sooo embarrassed. She was so disgusted, she wouldn't even order lunch. We went to get crab legs after. Go to ANY other theatre in town. AMC in northpark mall and at Village on the parkway 9 are soooo much better.

Yelp
Top service, respectful audience, FIRE food, the most comfortable chairs, excellent legroom. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
This particular location reminds me of NY. It has to be the vintage elevator. Every time I frequent it's never a crowd (I don't prefer crowds) but if I owned this baby, it would be lit ! Btw... the lemon drop martinis and food is pretty darn good!

Yelp
Always love coming here for food and a movie and their comfy seats. Makes date night so much more!

Yelp
Nice place, parking is a little weird but more parking in the back. Staff very friendly.. Food was good. Clean theater and comfy chairs.

Shakil M.

Yelp
We went an saw Barbi. It was so much fun, surprisingly good , fun movie. What we weren't prepared for a theater saw in need of renovation. Sticky out of date furniture, the arn rest are literally falling part. Reclining chairs which sink in the middle long past their due date for replacement. Bathrooms unattended. The menu was uninspired, bland, no surprises. The theater is so in need of a capital investment to meet basic expectations of comfort.

Worst one in the metroplex. Assisted the Barbie costume movie party, Barbie being a movie about WOMEN empowerment and calling out misogyny/machismo. The winner was chosen by the host's random ass friends who where 2 MEN that had contestants strut for them. How ironic is that?? They where also allowed to text and talk throughout the whole movie...again for being random friends of a friend for an unknown host. I guess that earns you special privilege to break the "so important" Alamo Drafthouse rules of theatre etiquette.

Yelp
My only major complaint here is about the bar. Went on a Wednesday night so it wasn't busy but I don't think one of the bartenders knew how to make what we ordered (which was on the menu). Took a while to get the drinks but they tasted ok - not sure if what we each ordered was too sweet or if it just wasn't made right. The fandango tickets were really confusing to match up to the theater seating (fandango said 56/57 but theater seats were numbered entirely different). Even when we asked someone it was confusing so we just picked something close. ‍ Food service was good, though they charged everything to my card even though they'd swiped a card from both of us. MY VEGANS! They do have vegan options on the menu! I had the Buffalo cauliflower here and have had the Beyond burger at another location and both are delish. The cauliflower even comes with vegan ranch!

Yelp
Super convenient location, food is decent and the staff is pleasant; however, I'll likely drive further to go to another location or a different theater brand altogether strictly because of the chairs. They are worn out and not comfortable.

Yelp
Nearly every movie theatre in the Dallas area serves alcohol and snacks now - but Alamo does it way better than most! The upstairs bar is good enough to stand alone; downtown views, good bartenders at full bar, and ample indoor/outdoor seating! It is a great place to relax before or after your movie! A wider array of food is offered than in most theatres, and it is good. If you are old-school and just want popcorn, it will be served in a large SS bowl so it is easier to share. (Your date is less likely to complain about your greasy fingers and crumb-spotted shirt, if she is similarly disadvantaged! Hah!) Food & drink service during the movie is less obtrusive than at other ful-service cinemas we've tried. No distractions; just drinks & snacks delivered discretely! We will be coming here for more of our movie adventures!

Yelp
The truffle parm popcorn is so good. I also enjoyed their meat lovers pizza. Definitely close to NY personal pizzas. The servers were responsive and kind. The seats are comfortable and the theatre is dimly lit.

Yelp
For this to be my first experience here it was the worst experience..purchased tickets for a 10:50pm showing, arrived shortly after at 11pm. Door were locked and the host (short Hispanic female) came too the door and blocked the entrance demanding to see tickets for the showing.. After showing her the purchase confirmation, she opened the door and I walked in. She comes to me 2 minutes later while I'm waiting for someone to get out of the car and tells me that the kitchen is closed....WHAT IS THE POINT ??! The reason I purchased the tickets in the first place was for the "movie and dine In experience" complete waste of time and money... DO NOT COME HERE.. 0/0 Recommend

Yelp
The worst service and the rudest guests. Food was way too spicy and overpriced as well as having hair in my food. The oldest chairs and the most inconvenient table tops. I will never visit again. A disgrace to Dallas city life. As it was located in downtown Dallas.

Yelp
Need to figure out their parking. I got out of a movie and was trapped in their parking lot for an hour trying to get out because they let people going to a concert park in their lot.

Yelp
I never post negative reviews - and I mean ever. I think it's pointless and often times the person complaining is just being dramatic, but last night I had one of the worst movie going experiences I've had in my 23 years of life. It started out with me sitting next to a drunk guy who was making me HIGHLY uncomfortable. Kept offering to buy my boyfriend and I drinks, and within the first 10 minutes of the movie he had been yelled at by fellow movie goers to shut up four times. He was constantly on his phone and being annoying. I whispered to my boyfriend once that he was annoying me and making me uncomfortable, and another time when my boyfriend asked me a question about one of the characters in the movie. And guess who got in trouble with a female worker who told me if I talked one more time I would be kicked out? Me. When I informed her, very nicely, that I was talking to him about the drunk guy next to me who was making me uncomfortable she said "I don't care, I've seen you talk three times and if it happens again I'm going to have you leave." She then proceeded to stand in the corner of the theater and stare at me for an HOUR like a weirdo. So, the drunk guy next to me didn't get in trouble ONCE , even though everyone in the theater was yelling at him, and the worker watched that happen while she was staring at me. Mind you he also left without paying for any of his food or drinks. But no. I got in trouble and was never apologized to for talking directly into my boyfriends ear about how uncomfortable I was. The food was also horrible, I got a salad and took one bite and refused to touch it. And I also got a vodka redbull that tasted like gasoline. Never coming here again - absolutely infuriated that some teenager on a power trip had to ruin my experience of seeing one Spiderman.

Yelp
Service was great during my first visit to Alamo. I have been to places like the movie tavern but it was so long ago I didn't fully know if the service would match up! As a kid going to the movie tavern is a great experience but going to a similar place as an adult is different. I questioned whether the movie price and our totaled dinner price was worth it and in the end decided it was. We were served good food and the beers kept coming without having to leave my seat! Def will be coming back.

Yelp
I went to see the Bob's Burgers movie here and it was my first time at this theater chain. Definitely got cult following vibes from it lol and it came highly recommended. The person at the ticket counter was very friendly. Honestly, COVID lockdown has spoiled me and now I miss home releases. I think I was the first person to buy a ticket and there was no one else on the back row. When I got there, people had purchased tickets right next to me on both sides, even though there was plenty of room to skip a seat (that's not anything against the theater just a personal pet peeve). The ordering system is weird, you have to write your order on a piece of paper and stick it in a box attached to your tray table. The seats were really worn and the recline switch didn't work. The curated menu was a cute idea but could've been more creative given how sarcastic and punny the show is, especially with all of Bob's Burgers of the Day. I paid $13 for a sangria [shot] filled with ice, I literally finished it in like 4 sips. The pickle fries were really really good and the ranch was top tier, it might be worth it to go back just for those. I had to ask for water multiple times which was frustrating. They do not play about being on your phone, which I guess I can appreciate but the enforcement is a little embarrassing. The people on the right side of the row were being a little obnoxious and the guy right next to me reported them to the waiter. The next thing I know the manager came barreling down the aisle and made a beeline for the girl on the other side of me and told her to get off her phone. The guy tried to explain it wasn't her but the manager barked at him that she saw the girl on her phone. She never even said anything to the other group. Then she just stood against the wall next to the back row like a teacher supervising an assembly. She was more distracting than someone talking or using their phone. Average experience overall. Probably won't go back.

Yelp
Great last minute visit to Alamo. Seating chart had some spots blocked out for Covid safety which was cool. The tickets said we wouldn't be let in if we got there late, we have a 2 year old so getting out the door with him settled with grandma is always tough, so we were late but able to get in no problem. Decent amount of parking but not a ton like normal theaters. Food was alright, beer was cold, they forgot our popcorn but took it off the bill. We'd go back

Yelp
We were here for Top Gun: Maverick - half-filled theater on a Monday. We sat down and saw the servers walking past with drinks and order slips, so we filled out our order slip and placed it standing up in the slot at the front of our table. Eventually, we got through the previews and the movie started... 30 minutes in, and the servers had not noticed our slip, even though they kept walking up and down the stairs. Eventually, my friend got up to ask one of the servers during the movie. They just told us to wait. We then flagged down a waiter who was passing by behind us. We had ordered 1 chardonnay and 1 beer... But instead, we got a cider and beer, and it took another 30 minutes for the drinks to get back to us after they took our order slip. I didn't feel like complaining (or waiting another hour), so I stuck with the cider, it wasn't too bad after all. But by this point, we were almost halfway through the movie already, so we were pretty annoyed. Once we had gotten our drinks and started enjoying the movie again, we started hearing vacuuming in the theater next to us... Very loud and disruptive, even over the movie in our theater. I understand they need to clean between showings, but they also need to make sure they soundproof the doors/walls between the theaters! We came here thinking we'd enjoy a cold drink during the movie, but instead, we were a little frustrated with the ordering process. Regardless, loved the movie, but I don't recommend coming here for movies.

Yelp
The food is always phenomenal and the staff is friendly and attentive with our orders. Love coming here for movies as a season pass holder, my only complaint is that the seats are falling apart and peeling. I would also prefer the recline that Lake Highlands offers but I like the convenience of this location for me. I recommend the margarita pizza and a cookie shake.

Yelp
This is a really fun concept. You buy tickets, and when you get there you go right to your seat, which now has a little cocktail table in front of it. The server will take your tickets then give you a menu. You then order by writing what you want on a little slip of paper and putting it in a little stand on the table and the waiters know to come by and grab it and put your order in. We ordered before and during the movie and all went smoothly and we got food within 10 minutes. We ordered the pretzel and chicken strips for dinner and gummy bears for dessert. The Pretzel was super good and my favorite, the chicken strips had too much breading, and the gummy bears were good, it was $6 for a small Chinese take out container so, definitely movie theater pricing. The staff was super friendly and they have huge bathrooms so likely you're not too wait. Also, it gets a bit crowded in the hallways, I think it might be because there's a bar there that also seems to get quite busy.
