Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Downtown Los Angeles

We were in LA for the weekend to celebrate a birthday and valentine's day. This came up as a nearby theater and was withing walking distance of our hotel. This was a pretty unique theater experience. The old sci-fi posters and the cabinets with various memorabilia were a cool touch. They have a full menu and the food was good. We loved the unlimited popcorn which has real butter and comes in a huge stainless steel bowl. The servers come to you. You just write down your order on a slip of paper, put it in the holder and turn on the service button. Same thing for refills. I love their house rules: No theater admittance if you're late, absolutely no texting/cell phone use and no talking during the movie. They will remove violators and they have staff that check throughout the movie. There's old movie and TV show clips shown which you wait for your show to start. The whole experience was awesome and we plan to go back as often as possible.

Validation available inside theatre. Parking on the 4th floor will make it easier to go straight to hidden elevators on side of parking structure. There's signs on the wall letting you know where... some signs are in the regular elevator area, letting you know which floor to go.

I love this location, and apparently a lot of other people do too, because many screenings get booked up like 1 week in advance! The chairs are comfortable, the service and food are excellent. There is also a cool barcade area outside where they host comedy nights etc. Great place to watch limited release films, foreign films or throwback cult classics. Parking situation is sub-optimal, they validate but I still end up having to pay extra :(

Overpriced for an old theatre with falling apart seats and tables. Posters aren’t that interesting in the theatre. I prefer going to a Laemmle. Restrooms are way too far from the theatres. The layout of this theatre doesn’t work well. The content before the trailers wasn’t that good and I didn’t really want to watch them. This theatre needs a creative director. It’s all over the place.

My first time at a luxury/reclining seat movie theatre that had server service from your seat. The interior decor was very classic with old movie posters and art. I was able to watch with drinks and food without having to leave my seat. Seats were very comfortable and they also recline! A server will come to you and explain the process. The only thing missing is a bathroom at your seat, otherwise it’s the best experience for watching a movie. I now look forward to future movie releases and don’t think I can go back to a regular theatre again. The selection in adult beverages and food is plentiful. Their loaded fries were delicious and I’d try their other menu options next time. Customer service was excellent. I’d definitely come back again to watch movies here in the future. Parking is at the structure and there is also a bar/karaoke there after you watch your movie. I highly recommend this spot to rejuvenate your movie viewing experience.

While on my business trip to LA, I managed to take some time out and visited Alamo to watch an Indiana Jones movie. I must say, this place offers a truly distinctive movie experience. Their strict no phone, no text policy enhances the movie-watching atmosphere. What's even better is that you can remain seated throughout the film, and they serve food right to your seat as you order. The ordering process is seamless too – they provide a menu and a note pad on the table. Just write down what you want and press the switch, and they'll take care of the rest. Moreover, the seats are comfortable and electronically operated, adding to the overall enjoyment of the experience.

Great selection of beers on draft. The food is great. If you like blue cheese, I recommend the Hell Fire burger. If you go there on Tuesdays, there's karaoke from 8pm to 11:30pm. Come watch a movie early, then stick around for karaoke!

First time at the Alamo and loved it. Food going in and out was not at all disruptive like I worried about. Food was delicious and the vibe was great! Love the support they give to movie lovers when it comes to loud people. Shame that Sony has purchased them, they are probably going to ruin it.

Now owned by Sony Pictures, you would think they would have the resources to upgrade their seats. As others have commented, the reclining seats are peeling and beat up. Not a great first impression for me. I have always wanted to visit since my annual trips to Austin for SXSW, but never made it until now at their DTLA location. The craft beer selection leaves more to be desired. None of the beers on draft looked exciting to me. They did have a few local taps like Boomtown. I would have liked to see Highland Park Brewery or higher caliber local breweries from California. The flat bread ordered from my seat with goat cheese and broccoli was delicious. The service was friendly. I wanted to order before the film started so I would not get distracted. The movie selection also left more to be desired as well. Not sure if they are geared more towards Sony Pictures releases now since they now own the chain. I thought I would see more quality independent or foreign films like a Laemmle. I settled for a disappointing Sony Pictures release because of the high score on Rotten Tomatoes -- I feel now like the reviews were fake since I didn't enjoy that film. For $50-$60 for a movie and craft beer dining experience in DTLA, not sure if I would return again when I have a movies on demand at home and two Laemmle's in the Valley with better quality films. You can buy your tickets in advance online. I had some issues with their website and almost gave up buying a ticket. They have strict rules like "don't be late and no texting" so don't come if you're always late and can't put your phone down for a couple hours or so. There is cool bar on the bottom floor with a few old school video games along with free DVD rentals. You will see a different selection of craft beer compared to what is available at your seat. They also have merch to buy as well. I see potential if they can make improvements like better seats, better beer selection, and maybe more of a barcade vibe with more vintage arcade games and pinball machines. The restrooms are gender neutral with individual enclosed rooms and separate area for the urinals. Again, this is now owned by Sony, but they can't afford toilet seat covers. Nice to say that I have finally been and experienced Alamo Drafthouse Cinema! Side note: The Macy's nearby is closing down and they have a 60% off sale if shopping is your thing.

PARKING: There's a nice parking structure attached to the plaza the theater is in. Just make sure you validate. Parking in LA is so expensive!! SEATING: Comfy seats! They recline. I do have to say that the little tables do get in the way of getting in and out of the seat. Maybe it's a me problem but I always hit my knees getting up. Also some of the seats do look be worn out. Maybe time for an upgrade soon?! SERVICE: The staff here are super nice! They were willing to let me ask a bunch of questions I had about the menu as it's a full dine in service here. FOOD: I got an alcoholic peppermint shake from their seasonal menu and it was fantastic! It is called PAPA ELF'S PEPPERMINT SCHNAPPS SHAKE for about 15$. It was so good the couple next to me got curious and ordered one too! Every sip had crushed candy cane and I just love candy canes so much! I literally finished it in 2 minutes. OVERALL: Definitely recommended if you want a cool movie experience as they curate an original pre-show for the movie you'll be watching.

This is a great place to see a movie! Ordered the tickets online and were able to pick our seats in advance. The seats were very comfortable and it was a breeze to order food and drinks. Popcorn and lemonade were yummy. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Located in DTLA with a parking structure adjacent to The Bloc - take Metro to the 7th/Metro station and walk up to the Hope St exit and you're there!

First of all, I just want to say tip your servers in the theater! Honestly, they provide a great service here and I would argue that it's harder to operate here than a lot of other type of businesses/places. The menu is pretty great and I love their popcorn here, especially since they use real clarified butter. If I had to describe a perfect movie theater for me, it would definitely be close to what the folks of Alamo Drafthouse had done here. Vibe here is retro, but also modern and elevated at the same time. As you walk through the halls to your theater, you see oversized, gorgeous, vintage looking movie posters. On display there are also tiki mugs and collectibles that I want to say Mondo (or affiliated companies) has sold in the past. Just a great place to watch a movie. My only gripe about this place is that it's pretty hard to get to from where I live.

Everything about this place is just so cool, staff is great. Food is really good. The bar is so retro and I love it.

Come here to disrespect yourself, and also, kind of cinema. Every time I've come to the Alamo since the post pandemic re-open I've been nothing but disappointed. The spirit hath left the building folks.

It pains me to say it-- but this hipster-theater, located in a rough area of LA is aging fast. It's a bit dingy, it's over priced... it's dirty... 2 Stars. The unique etiquette policy (don't talk or you're kicked out), dining while eating, and showing of older films, aren't enough to keep you coming back... unless you don't mind the smell. Once you walk in, you're met with an almost hipster/movie vibe of past time C-grade films which is both interesting and artsy. That I liked! However, upon walking in down the hallways, there is a musky smell of urine throughout the area. Likely because their bathroom is wide open for guests to use without a door. The movie-goers are a unique scene. Ranging from the goth, to the odd, the fashionable, and quiet. There are no children here or smiling faces. It's a little bit like an old shoe in here. PSA: Almost every patron I saw use the UNISEX bathroom NEVER washed their hands. Gross. The Customer Service though was good! They were "to the point", but accommodating. Some didn't look like they wanted to be there either but... a jobs a job attitude. The food was also a hit! Not bad at all! The Theater Room itself? It's old. The leather seats, are worn and you stick to them like a beer-soaked College couch. You know the feeling... So why the 2-stars??? It's the price. All of it bundled together is almost $60+ a person just to go see a film. This is not a nice theater either. Unless eating and drinking really appeals to you while watching a movie (instead of at home), there is ZERO bargain here. Conclusion. AMC's seats, screens, cleanliness, and service rival this Theater --and are so much nicer. Did I say clean? If I had to watch a film again, it wouldn't be here. There are other, cleaner, safer venues than this location in the tougher neighborhoods of LA. I can still smell the urine. Sorry Alamo, pick a different place or clean up...it's embarrassing. I'm sure your Texas location is much nicer too.

Alamo Drafthouse is a fun place to see a popular movie - they usually do themed menus of the biggest blockbuster they're showing. The food is good; the beer selection and cocktail list are great. The cinemas aren't huge, and it can get a bit distracting with servers running back and forth delivering items during the movie. The gift shop is the perfect place to find an obscure DVD, shirt, or trinket for a cinephile. I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this cinema, but it's a nice change of scenery from TCL or Regal every once in a while.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is such a vibe! I've watched several movies here and the service from the staff is always top notch. Food (pretzel and chicken tenders) and drinks were pretty decent too. No complaints! Seats are recliners so they're very comfy. Only complaint is that the leather seats are pretty worn out so it does look a bit old and janky. Highly recommend watching movies on a weekday night so there's not much of a crowd. It's spacious and comfortable.

A colleague invited me to the movies here on a Tuesday. I almost turned it down since it was last-minute and in DTLA (which I'm not really familiar with) but after a nap, I revived myself, saw the empty seat next to theirs still open, and figured it was meant to be. Thanks to other Yelpers, I knew to park at The Bloc and to go (all the way) up to level 4A for the closest access to Alamo. Do NOT use the bank of elevators in the bright pink area; this will not get you directly there. Instead, there is a much smaller elevator that I posted that says 'Elevator for Cinema.' Once you step out, round the corner and you are face-to-face with the doors of Alamo. Guy at the front was very helpful when I told him this was my first visit. As he validated my ticket, he told me to go up the escalator to theater 6, another attendant will scan my ticket, and I can check out the menu under the table. I was the second one in the theater, and they were showing weird previews from years ago which were actually quite fitting for the movie we were going to see. A guy came over and told me how to order when I was ready and to push the call button, but he was attentive as it was so this was no issue. Looking back, I placed my order at a decent time and received it shortly after the previews started. Friends arrived during this time and were able to order as well. Not that the movie has much to do with the experience at Alamo but this was surprisingly good. I notice they seem to discount ticket prices on Tuesdays, so this will most likely be the day that I return. Even though we sat all the way in the front, it wasn't difficult to watch. Food was chicken tenders and fries (with some sort of kale slaw I didn't eat) and was more enjoyable than expected, and the bill was brought out about 45 minutes before the end of the movie. All in all, a great experience. The only downsides is even with validation, parking is still $4 but being in DTLA, this is actually very good for the area, and there is a surcharge on your food bill which I caught too late. However this Can be removed upon request which is notated on the bottom of the receipt. I never thought I'd see this in a theater, but the option for it to be taken away is a plus. And to think I wasn't actually going to come; so glad I decided to try Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas!

Came here to see The Temple of Doom with a date at night, and honestly it was so dreamy. The theater is tucked away, but once you find it, the aura transforms. They have a gaming area and a spot where DVD's and merch are sold, which is super cool. Once your theater is ready, you take escalators up to the auditoriums, and the whole way there you're greeted with tons of movie posters, new and old. The theater itself is super cozy and the chairs are really comfy. They give you a menu during the pre-movie show and you can order food and drinks. You write down what you want on a note and press a call button which illuminates a small light in front of your tray table. We just decided to share a hard kombucha, which was not bad. I can't wait to try their other offerings the next time I come here. Our server was super nice and attentive. We were slightly confused when we sat down and he made sure that we understood how everything worked and that he would check in on us periodically. I'll definitely be coming back here, and I'd recommend it to anyone who appreciates vintage vibes, oldies, and movie lovers! :)

The Alamo Drafthouse is my new favorite theater! Instead of paying $15 admission at a regular theater, I'd rather pay a few dollars more and get a luxurious experience here at this cinema! Not only is it a full-service restaurant and bar, but the seats are recliners and are very comfortable! Perfect for a mid-week date night after work where you can just relax and watch a good movie! I am obsessed with the theme of the place and all the horror movie memorabilia they have lining the halls. You can definitely spend an hour looking through the glass cases and be late for your flick (which we almost were!) I have not tried their food yet, but the drinks were pretty good, and service is quick. The only bad thing about this place is the parking. It's pretty common for patrons to get stuck in the parking lot if they're seeing a movie that is scheduled later in the evening. The Bloc better fix their parking situation because the exit bar never works, and you'll need to find security if you want to get out. That was a really scary experience!

My friend won four tickets to a Halloween Party and decided to treat us to a movie here at. I have gone to The Bloc several times but never knew this place even existed. I was impressed with the elaborate setup inside and the menu items they offered. The theater has a one-warning policy, which means if you are warned twice you will be asked to leave. Once the movie begins, you have to communicate with your servers by writing down your food and drink orders which then you place on a stand at the end of your table. They do a good job of explaining how it works before the movie begins. I really enjoyed the Queso & Chips (with beef) and Pepperoni pizza. They were both delicious. Unfortunately, they were not serving popcorn due to the "machine catching fire." That was a disappointment for me. I would love for this establishment to invest in another popcorn machine to be able to offer popcorn no matter what. The seats were comfortable and reclined, which is always a plus for someone with back problems, like me. Overall, our experience at The Alamo was great. It's a great place to visit for a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, or celebration. They offer other fun experiences like karaoke and Drag bingo, which I definitely want to check out sometime.

Service was outstanding, I was more than happy to give a generous tip. The food and drinks are alright, you're paying for the experience keep in mind. I don't remember the chairs being so worn out.. and it was a bit dirty. It used to really feel like a luxury experience- and I think it can go back to that by just maintaining the seats and cleanliness.

I wanted to check out Alamo Drafthouse for a while since I like their movie selection. This location is in DTLA at the Bloc. We took the subway so we didn't deal with their parking. The elevator going up is a pain, you have no control over it even if you push buttons! Take the stairs, easier to get to and get some steps in! I like the lobby, with a cool bar, nice display of merchandise and a great selection of movie on DVD you can rent for free! Decent theater, ok seating, didn't get food, clean restrooms. Kinda of pricey, $18, so we'll see about coming to see a movie here again. I don't need bells and whistles. Projection was OK.

Mine and my partners favorite movie theater. We love the vintage classic cinematic experience this establishment cultivates and prioritizes. Come here to watch movies as they were meant to be watched. Also the food/drink options are great. The bottomless churro popcorn is our go to and the cocktails don't disappoint. Not overpriced, similar to DTLA bar prices, you can get a margarita for $14 and a beer for $6. The staff is always on top of the experience too. $4 parking in The Bloc (validate up front) no complaints!

If you're 21+ there really is no better option than places like this to watch a movie the adult way. That's being able to enjoy alcohol whilst enjoying your film choice. We decided to watch Saltburn here on a Sunday, days before it became available on streaming. Dinner happened before the show, but because we decided to get cross faded before the show, we ended up getting dessert and more dessert. The staff working were all nice.

I love the Alamo's love for movies. The pre shorts, mini movie references prior to the main feature. The ambience and immersive experience of movie enjoyment. Wide food and drink selection. Attentive service too.

I love the concept of having a draft house combined within the theater and in one that serves food. First of all the choices of beer are great and diverse. Second of all the food was actually really good. We got the pretzel with beer cheese and the Korean sweet and spicy wings. They were all cooked very well. My only problem with this place is their seat covering are old and peeling. The leather is completely worn from the top bottom. Yes it's soft to sit on, but you can feel the bits and pieces of stuff coming off. Exactly how sanitary is that when everyone else's dead skin is pretty much etched into the seats? You really can't clean very well with seats broken like that. Please upgrade your seats!!!

We had to try it. The idea of having cocktails served along with bottomless popcorn while watching a fun movie like "Wonka" on the big screen with a good sound system made the experience memorable. The theatre/bar is located on the top floor of the open shopping mall beside Macy's Dept. store which is one level down. We bought tickets online, and their site recommended arriving a half hour early, so we did. We enjoyed the cartoons, and Willy Wonka tv show excerpts while sitting in nice recliner seats. Drinks and food are fairly pricey, but service was pleasant, and everything went as expected, plus the movie was great fun.

Nice theater in the middle of DTLA. They will validate your parking. Food was delicious, service was subpar. Took awhile for they to appear when you hit your light. Atmosphere was pretty cool, kinda takes you back when , movies were movies. Not all this digital crap they use in today's films. I would go back again. As long as it wasn't some crybaby liberal's film.

Okay you maybe asking yourself what's so special about this place compared to other movie theatres since most serve actual food and alcohol at this point as well as reclining seats for some theatre around town. WELL, there's a few things that'll definitely keep me coming back! 1) the customer service is great. I went twice. The first night I forgot my card assuming I could just tap (BRING A CARD OR CASH AS THEY DONT DO THAT) so I don't the first twenty minutes of the movie looking for an atm. Couldn't find one that accepted tap so I went back and they graciously gave me a rain check ticket (they originally offered a refund but I paid with Apple Cash so I also didn't have my card numbers for them to do that) and the price of the ticket for the first compared to second night was cheaper so I appreciate that they didnt try to make me pay for the difference. They also gave me a voucher for unlimited popcorn for the inconvenience which was nice as it wasn't their fault that I didn't bring my card. So the next night I went. The ambience of the place is very nice. Decorated with a more vintage feel. They have a bar area at the theatre as well that hosts a myriad of events like Tuesday karaoke. The DRINKs are great btw! Had a cider and a watermelon marg and both were so good. They also have some house rules like no late admittance and the ordering is silent with a paper and pen to write what you'd like. The tickets are also pretty cheap. My first ticket was only 10.99. The second was 20. Which is the same as any other theatre so for a better experience, atmosphere, and customer experience but the same prices and even cheaper than Cinemark sometimes? I'm in!

Love this theater, seats need some attention. I've been coming here for sometime now and it's been like this for a little too long.

It is a hipster movie hangout with an excellent artisan vibe. ADC showcases a theatre devoted to the cinema experience with the addition of large recliners and the option of munching down a full-on meal or snacks if you prefer. For a premium price of an attendance ticket, they have a matching menu full of great choices. The food here is good and the service is exemplary. Key note to remember is to be early for your showtime. This is a movie experience and not a casual last-minute choice to see a movie. The only item I would suggest is that this theatre really needs a better cleaning crew, or possibly a good deep cleaning ever so often.

Maybe I'm not a fan of Watching a movie while eating. Maybe I'm not a fan of the funky parking lot where I have to keep on driving for 4 loops while getting dizzy? Maybe I just don't like the DTLA location + the patrons who go? Maybe I'm just loyal to the New Bev? Maybe you should go yourself and see if you like this spot!

Such a fun, cool, classic theatre located in DTLA. There's parking in the same complex, too. This cinema has proper recliners, and table service, they play both new movies and classics so there's always something to choose from. They offer a full menu with American foods and beers, I liked their tator tot nachos, and lager beer. Once you write your order on a piece of paper, they bring it to your seats!

Pretty cool ambiance/decor - bathroom clean (tho I couldn't find the seat cover) - location of the theater is convenient - validated parking - service was welcoming and friendly -margarita drink was made strong. Blah: 1) the seats are old/tearing/rip 2) too close to others (not much privacy) So, for the price $18 a ticket .. I would go elsewhere

Been coming to Drafthouse in DTLA since the first day they were open for business. My favorite thing about this theater is that they take your movie watching experience seriously. They have a strict no talking, no texting, no phones policy. If they see you doing any of that or if they are made aware of you doing that they will give 1 to warning. After that you'll be asked to leave. Thank you...because nothing ruins a movie more than distractions. On the flip side they do offer Rowdy Showings where you can heckle or hoot and holler at the screen. Haven't been to one of those yet though. Okay second thing I love about this theater is the pre show. They actually open the theater a half an hour before movie start time and show shorts, commercials or clips that pertain to either the type of movie you're seeing or include the actors in the movie that you're about to see. How fun is that? They'll also from time to time have Q&As with the directors or actors. Drafthouse DTLA also has the set up where you can order food and drink at your seat and their food is actually really good...like restaurant quality good not some microwave barely edible stuff. Being vegan I love that they have tons of vegan options. Personal favs...the Beyond Burger, Buffalo Cauliflower and the Vegan Supreme Pizza These guys also put on events throughout the week in the bar area...karaoke, improve comedy, horrible movie watching. It's just an all around fun theater. The only downside is the parking can be a bit of a pain. They have a parking garage but the elevator that takes you to the theater is on 4 which may or may not always be open. When it's not open you have to take the elevator down to the main level which leaves you right in the middle of Macy's. Then once you exit Macy's you have to walk up 1 level to get to the theater. Pain in the butt but again the overall movie going experience is great.

I saw wicked here with my friends 10/10 ~ they have a great beer selection I was quite impressed for it being a cinema (maybe less so for a drafthouse) prices are as expensive as you can probably imagine. Service was quick and on point. The recliner seats and having someone wait on you through out the movie without actually interrupting the movie is actually why I come and what I'm willing to pay the big bucks for! I will definitely be back to see more.

Nothing fancy here but the idea was to make this a "retro" theater. Not sure that was accomplished but still a pretty cool spot to check out if your up for seeing a movie, having a drink or both. Located on the 3rd level of the "bloc" on 7th & Flower in the Macy's shopping center. Not going to tell you where my secret parking spot is but there is a (paid) parking lot right in the center.

A theater that feels more high end with the decor, seats and food. Even so, tickets are only $15 and they have a good amount of showings. The theaters are smaller with cushy reclining leather chairs. Each has a cup holder and a high table for keeping a burger or slice of pizza close to your face. To order, write your request on the provided paper and press the button. A staff member comes in front of you to confirm everything and then process your order. Do they get in the way of other moviegoers? I felt a little self-conscious and hesitant to call them over for another refill. Their food and drinks are superb though the cup is smaller than other theaters. The food prices are high, though there's clearly more care put into it compared to a normal theater. They advertise some sort of pre-show before the movie and I recommend going early to settle in with your food orders, but the pre-show for Kung Fu Panda 4 was just funny animal videos, so don't stress it too much.

Always a smash. Fried pickles? Yes please. They don't let people in who are late so you don't miss those crucial opening scenes while someone steps on your toe in the dark. Bonus. Cute off the beaten path movie trailers. Any movie watched here feels like a fun experience.

Great ambiance with the bar area spilling over onto a balcony overlooking the courtyard. So many cool posters of past movies. Everyone at this location is super helpful and I wish I could give them more stars for their level of service. Super Star Staff for sure. The loaded fries and vanilla milkshake were extremely delicious and are a must-try. The beer menu is insane and you are bound to find the perfect brew to quench your thirst. If you are looking for a different movie experience, try Alamo Draft House.

Been meaning to come here forever and finally came in on a date with the boyfriend to see Longlegs. I will agree with many reviewers that the seats are in long need of some tlc but otherwise I really enjoyed the experience of eating and drinking while watching a film. My chicken sandwich was also a little dry but still want to go back again to try something else

The front desk clerk lied and told us he couldn't sell us tickets close to the show time just for us to find out he just refused to. When the manager showed up he was extremely unhelpful and we were turned away with no recourse. It felt racial. Terrible experience. I will not be back.

This is the only place I go to watch movies. The food is really good like 99% of the time. Every now and again it's not but that's life, it happens. The truffle popcorn is iconic. The chips and queso is a Texas classic. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a movie night. The staff is friendly and attentive, always ensuring a pleasant experience for the guests. Overall, it's a reliable choice for a fun and relaxing evening out. I highly recommend it for movie lovers.

As a big fan of Alamo back in Texas, I was so happy to finally visit their LA location. At first when I saw it was downtown I assumed parking would be a nightmare, but they have it really well thought out -- the theatre is basically part of the same parking structure, same elevator and everything, and they validate parking! Friendly and helpful employees, and good popcorn and food as always. Whenever I'm in the south land I'm going to have to make a pilgrimage here. I love the decor and lighting and movie posters everywhere -- it really feels like the best parts of the little theatres I grew up going to. Seems like they have lots of events like karaoke and special screenings here. It's a nice spark of charm in what can otherwise feel like another bougie mall.

The vibe of the place is amazing. Staff is always great when I'm there. Love the reclined seats and on demand food. Bathrooms are always clean and isolated, which I love, especially for a co-ed bathroom. Haven't had a problem except for some late food one time but they compensated with free popcorn so can't complain really.

The concept is pretty cool; you reserve your seats when purchasing tickets (I've always ordered online, but I'm sure you can also walk in to purchase), and servers are assigned to take your food/drink orders prior to the movie starting (so please arrive early because late arrivals to any movie are annoying). You don't have to order food/drinks, but I enjoy having that option. The last few times I went to Alamo, I opted for the big bowl of bottomless popcorn and soda. I like the option of being able to eat, drink, and enjoy the movie with a comfortable recliner. Don't know if I can ever go back to a standard movie theater, just kidding.

Very unique movie theater experience where you get food directly served to you! There are menus at every seat. Your server explains the concept of the theater (and emphasizes that no talking/phone use is allowed) and takes your order before the movie starts. To place additional orders during the movie, you write it down on a paper and press the call button to summon your server. We saw plenty of vegan options on the menu (vegan supreme pizza, cauliflower wings, salad). Vegan supreme pizza: - Daiya cheese, thin crust, various veggies (mushrooms, basil, olives, etc) - 10 inches (good for 1-2 people) Popcorn: - on the saltier side compared to AMC's popcorn - it's printed on the menu that you can ask for butter. If you're vegan, do NOT get the butter. Btw, shoutout to Lily who was super friendly and helpful!

Really fun experience. I had been wanting to come here for a few years and I finally gave in. Such a wonderful experience. The vibe to this place is cool. You feel like you are back in time with all their decor. The menu is pretty good. I ordered the chicken tenders and a soda. You order at your seats and the they bring it out. The food took about 15-20min to be ready which wasn't bad and the movie hadn't started yet. The staff are very friendly and quick. I will probably be back to enjoy another movie. If was a fun experience and I would love to experience it again.

The food is delicious. The popcorn butter/salt ratio served is inconsistent. The ambiance is dark and quiet. No talking and cell phones allowed. Zero'ish tolerance. Service is inconsistent as well. They need a better system to notify servers that patrons need assistance.

Please update your menu. It's been 4 months and the vegan chocolate chip cookies have been out for that long. If it's not available anymore why is it on the menu? They are so good and I have been looking forward to have them while watching a movie but haven't in months.

Very sad to see that Alamo has changed and now let people use their phones and talk during films. It seems like the staff will do nothing. I sympathize with them for being afraid of customers but they should publicize that Alamo is the same as every chain theater now.

We came on a Saturday night to watch American Fiction. It is located on the 4th floor and accessed from the 4th level of the Bloc parking garage by 4A. It has a separate elevator entrance. I will say this. The food is good. We had the chicken club and beyond burger. They came with fries and a pickle. I was surprised because I don't usually get good food from many movie theaters that serve meals. Icing on the cake was that they also served Mango Cart, which is one of our faves. The theater isn't too big, so all the seats are pretty good. Service was friendly and fast, with minimal disruptions during the movie. My only bad is the seats look pretty worn out and you can't move the tables. So you either have to reach for your food or put it in your lap. All in all, this is a great spot for a good movie. We spent about $65 on food, and the movie tix were $40 for 2 ppl.

Really know what you are getting yourself into before coming here. Scan through other past reviews and see I'm not alone in my opinions. First off parking is awful. Downtown LA parking in a maze of a dark garage. Coming back to your car at night alone is not a smart idea. I got there early and parking took so long I was now late. That's the big issue. They will not allow you in the theater. After a 70 minute rush hour trip and a maze of parking I'm not allowed in. It will happen to you. Also as I read other reviews it has become run down and smelly so why bother. Check out The New Bev, The Aero or now the Vista. Same vibe for film selection and a management that does not have their heads up their asses with infuriating no entrance policies.

Had a group of friends come to this movie theatre and we were all denied access to entry due to our disabled friend taking too long in their wheelchair. The ticketing attendant (they/them) and manager Caleb claimed it was too late would be a distraction due to movement within the theatre ruining the experience for other guests. This is a dine in movie theatre therefore there will be movement within the theatre regardless. This was silly, and I believe it was partially racially motivated. I Will be calling corporate and never attending this theatre again.

I wanted to love this place so hard, I use to go to the one in NY, I love that they have menues related to the movies and a bunch of not alcoholic beers but it's very sad to see how dirty it is. The restrooms are neutral gender, I really don't get why doing this. Specially in a location like DTLA as a woman I didn't feel safe in the restroom it was a homeless guy outside my restroom waiting and waiting and I got a little scared. Not to say that the chairs are super old and dirty, the service was good but because of the dirtiness I can't come back. The food wasn't great either. Lots of room to improve, I like the place and the concept but a lot of room to improve.

***I'm not sure how long this Venue has been open in LA...? At The Bloc. **I don't usually go to DT LA, especially for Movies, but NOW I have a very Strong Reason to Go! *I work on Major Motion Pictures... and such. This place, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! I'm old school Movie theaters, AMC, etc. Glendale has a Lux Movie Theater, it's nice. I've heard & seen this concept before, cool. But this, This Company, since 1997, from Austin, Tx just blew me away in LA with the 5:30PM, 4/11/23 screening of RENFIELD. !!!!! Now, I don't want to sell these folks short because it was a New Movie Screening and a Q&A afterwards with Nick Cage. Yup. Nick F$&kin' Cage. No, this is in their WheelHouse and it showed. These people have been doing this movie theater game since 1997 on their own terms and it showed. I'm still wrapping myself around this venue...which leads to me going back for another gander. I have to say everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was Top Notch and CLEAN!!!!!!! -The STAFF, Spot On. -The Bartenders where Lovely and Attentive. -Our servers in the theater, Tory and the team where OUTSTANDING. Not to draw attention but I must learn Sign Language!!! We all should! I have to say their system is very simple... they are giving people GREAT Service. Period. It's not a new thing but some forgot and everyone wants it all the time. ****Make Sure To TIP Accordingly. gratuities people**** Alamo DraftHouse Cinemas has a Ton of things to do, games, events, theme nights, etc. There was so much stuff to take in that I have to Go Back! BRAVO Alamo DraftHouse!!! I won't forget. Now I gotta find a film to work on and show in your venue.
