I had a truly upsetting experience at Alamo Drafthouse on Saturday, June 7th, during the 8pm showing of Bring Her Back.
While eating mozzarella sticks, I bit into something hard hidden inside one, and it broke a chunk of my molar off. I had to get up mid-movie with my friend to check what had happened. It was traumatic, shocking, and completely ruined a night I had been genuinely looking forward to.
The lobby was also uncomfortably hot due to the AC being broken, and no manager checked on me afterward. While my food was comped, a free meal doesn’t make up for the pain or the dental bill I’m now facing.
What added to the frustration was that no incident report was filed that night. I had to return the next day just to speak with the general manager and have the situation properly documented. Thankfully, GM Oriana was very kind and helpful, and she took the time to write a report and assist me.
I’ve been a loyal customer of Alamo for years and have always enjoyed the experience, which makes this situation especially disappointing. This wasn’t just a bad night, it was genuinely distressing.
I’m currently waiting to hear from Alamo’s HR team regarding how this situation will be handled, but I haven’t received an update yet. I’m hopeful they’ll make things right, and I’ll update this review once I hear back.
In the meantime, I’m sharing this to warn others and to advocate for better handling of serious incidents moving forward, especially when it comes to food safety and customer care.
Everyone deserves to feel safe, heard, and supported when dining out, especially loyal customers.
