"Yes, it’s a movie theater. But it’s also a full-service restaurant and bar which means dinner, a show, and escaping family small talk for a few hours. The truffle herb parmesan popcorn could be a meal in itself, but those looking for something heartier can choose between salads, pizzas, or sandwiches to pair with a new blockbuster release." - Elliott Harrell

"This home of food, beers, and film was founded in Austin in 1997 to help innovative films gain an audience. This location is the first in North Carolina — it just opened in April. Craft beers and food options like pizza and cheeseburgers are brought right to the rows of theater seating, but sipping on a shake is surely the easiest way to keep the eyes on the screen. The best way to enjoy a movie in the area! I honestly can’t recommend The Alamo Drafthouse in Raleigh enough. The staff is truly top-notch attentive, accommodating, and always going above and beyond to make sure your experience is perfect. Service here is a solid 5 stars every time. The theater itself is spotless, clean and comfortable, making it a real pleasure to settle in for a movie. But what really sets this place apart is the food. It’s honestly some of the best theater food I’ve ever had. My favorite has to be the Royale w/cheese and fried egg; seriously, it’s next-level delicious. And the fries with ginger garlic sauce? Absolutely incredible. I find myself craving them! Whether you’re here for a casual night out or a special occasion, the team at Alamo Drafthouse Raleigh makes every visit memorable. Great food, fantastic service, and a cozy atmosphere, this is a true gem in the city. Can’t wait to come back! Would you like me to tailor it further or add any specific details?

Sometimes you need a night out and a new entertainment option. This week Alamo had one. The entertainment was the best, it was crowded but the group was nice. I'll admit, I don't like this part of town at night, but it was a good evening and should they have another event I will go, but only with a couple friends.

We absolutely LOVE to visit this great art film house. Wonderful aesthetic, food great, huge lounging chairs to watch movies in and order an extensive menu from your seat. Great full bar and open area with records, videos and everything else !!! Can’t wait to go back !!

Had a great time here, they have a very good setup for going to the movies. The seats are comfortable, staff is kind and the food is great. Popcorn comes in a larger bucket than a normal movie theater. Milkshakes are really good.

Terrible Experience – Not Worth the Money or the Hype I should’ve listened to the negative reviews. We came here as part of my birthday weekend and everything was going great—until we stepped into this overpriced disaster of a theater. First, it took half the movie to receive my son’s kids meal. And when it finally came, it was disgusting. The chicken bites tasted like nothing—literally no flavor. My wrap was 90% tortilla, barely any lettuce or meat, and zero seasoning. The kids’ pizza? Ridiculously salty. My husband had to ask multiple times for his drink, and it finally arrived after he was done eating. Completely unacceptable. Nowhere on the website or menu (which I reviewed ahead of time like I always do) did it mention an automatic 18% service charge. For what? For food that’s nasty and service that’s slow and inattentive? Look, if you’re charging these ridiculous prices and tacking on a hidden service charge, your staff better be getting paid $25+ an hour to justify it—starting. Because the quality doesn’t match the cost, at all. The only saving grace was the manager Sabrina. She was kind, professional, and actually resolved the issue with the kids meal. But the male manager working between 5–6pm on 7/5 clearly didn’t care. He was more concerned with managing the alcohol than acknowledging a paying customer with real concerns. I don’t come out of character easily—I know how hard customer service can be, and I usually give grace. But this? This was outrageous. The food was nasty, the service was slow, and the prices were offensive.

Google
The ONLY place my wife & I will go see a movie! We will gladly pay the premium price for their amazing drinks and food because this is a date night for us. Every chance I get I tell people about Alamo Drafthouse and almost everyone I speak to around here has never heard of it. Having lived in Austin for a few years (where these theatres originated) I’m very familiar with them. I hope they never go away!

Google
The screens here are great and so it’s the seating - it’s really comfortable. The service to get food here can be mixed depending on the time of day. The food quality is much better than other dine-in cinemas. I’ve gotten the cauliflowers wings with gochujang sauce which were great recently. The wings were warm but tasted like they may have been sitting for a bit. This was different than other times I’ve came. The popcorn here is always good. If you are looking for a date night at the movie but want to make it more fun this is the place because it’s got good vibes. I’ve had good dating experience here.

Google
A fantastic Alamo location that's only a few minutes from downtown. They have an open bar/dinner area in the lobby where you can hang with your friends before the show. The retro feel is in every part of the building, you can tell they put all of their love for movies until the ambiance, I enjoyed browsing the posters, shelves, and merch. The staff are friendly and were willing to make recommendations on movies and food. The seats in the theaters are reasonably comfortable, and I say this as someone with chronic back pain. The popcorn is TASTY, it was dangerous for me to have a whole bowl to myself! I enjoyed the fried cauliflower. They also take the Alamo rules seriously: someone started repeatedly talking during my movie, and before I could even get my card up, they addressed it with that person (THANK YOU, that's why I come here). Also, they're trying out a new gratuity model where they automatically apply an 18% service charge, which I support. Overall a great experience, I'll definitely come back when I'm in Raleigh again.

Yelp
Alamo is one of our favorite date night adventures! We love everything about it. The atmosphere is so fun; think retro/80's/Stranger Things! The theatres are cozy, clean, and spacious. The service has always been great as well - I am sure it's got to be difficult serving/communicating with customers in the dark but it's always a good experience! I am also impressed with the prices and food. These days everything is a bit much, but the prices of the tickets, drinks, and food always seem appropriate! The food is also always fresh/tasty. My go-to is their California Cab for a drink, and Buffalo Chicken Pizza. We always start with the Truffle Parmesan popcorn - SO good! A few other dishes I have tried: fried pickle spears, Buffalo Cauliflower, House Salad, Chicken Tenders, and Chicken Sandwich. The only dish I did not love was the Chicken Tenders but that could have just been a bad day - way too breaded. Either way, I would give the food 9/10 stars for a movie theatre! Another thing I love is that if you just so happen to not be able to make it to your movie, you can get a refund on the tickets or use the credit for a different movie. We love the Alamo!

Yelp
Had 45 minutes to kill before our movie started so we sat at the bar. 15 minutes go by and we still haven't been greeted nor acknowledged. Bartender seemed pretty busy and we weren't in a rush or anything so wasn't a big deal. We waited patiently. After serving a very drunk and clearly overserved group next to us some Vodka red bulls she finally came over and asked what we wanted. We just wanted two shots of fernet. She said "cocktails are shutdown, you can order those in the theater bar where there are 4 bartenders" Still confused as to why she was able to serve vodka redbulls to a drunk group but can't do a fernet neat for us? And how is a shot of fernet a "cocktail" but vodka redbulls are okay? Should i have ordered a fernet soda no soda? Shortly after a server from a theater came out and asked her why she refused cocktails to another group. Either she wasn't in the mood to make cocktails or the theater has a pretty stupid and arbitrary policy. Either way; the service and the way it was communicated to us seemed pretty rude. This is just a one-off experience as we are season pass holders and this is the first weird experience we've had at the bar. We normally have a great time. I think the bartender's name is sophia

Yelp
A combination movie theater, taproom and video store, Raleigh's Alamo Drafthouse (aka Video Vortex) is a Cinemaphile's dream come true. Walk through the door, and you'll be transported back to 1992, where thousands of Blu-Rays and DVDs line the shelves in vintage VHS boxes, all available for rent at no charge (you get 2 movies free for a week). The bar boasts a great selection of North Carolina craft beers, as well as cocktails and a solid menu of pub grub (my Royale with Cheese burger was terrific). Food and beer can be enjoyed either in the lobby area or at your seat in the theater -- just fill out a menu card and flag down a server to post your order (preferably before the movie starts). I wish I could give this Alamo Drafthouse a higher rating, but the whole place felt a bit dated and run-down. It sort of lends to the retro atmosphere, but feels like a bit of a step down from a conventional multiplex. The seats are comfortable, but since these aren't stadium theaters, it's more than a little distracting when servers come through the rows delivering food and drink. The sound and picture quality were both great during my recent showing of Furiosa, however. I'd highly recommend Raleigh's Alamo Drafthouse for anyone looking to enjoy tasty food and a delicious craft beer during their movie. With a few renovations, this could easily become the best cinema in North Carolina.

Yelp
Prepare to embark on a sensory journey like no other at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Raleigh, where the magic of cinema meets the allure of delectable dining. Our recent visit to this cinematic gem left us in awe of the exceptional experience. Although we were only in the area for a week, we made sure to visit twice in a 5 day span. The star of the show here? Without a doubt, the Loaded Fries - a culinary masterpiece that exceeded all expectations and set a new standard for indulgence. A bowl of crispy fries adorned with a decadent medley of toppings creating a symphony of flavors that danced on our palates with every bite. The portion size was more than adequate, ensuring that every morsel was a delightful journey of taste and texture. But the true heroes of our dining experience were the incredible staff at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for a memorable evening. The staff's attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm for ensuring our comfort and satisfaction elevated our experience to new heights. As we settled into our seats, surrounded by the cinematic ambiance of the theater, we marveled at the seamless synergy between exceptional food and world-class entertainment. The attention to detail, the quality of the food, and the impeccable service from the staff truly set Alamo Drafthouse Cinema apart as a culinary and cinematic destination like no other. Highly recommended for those craving a cinematic escape coupled with exceptional dining, all delivered with a touch of hospitality that warms the heart and delights the soul.

Yelp
First time visiting, and it was an overall great experience. The seats recline (feet only), no one is talking or on their phone, you can order (pretty good) food along with beverages (including adult ones), and the armrests are pretty wide. It was ~$150 for the tickets, burgers, drinks, and tip (18% included, with option to add more), so not a cheap option, but definitely worth it for the experience.

Alex K.

Yelp
Theater is extremely popular for the Raleigh area and boasts an eclectic atmosphere. Multiple small theaters and every seat is a good view, reclining chairs, and tables w/ cup holders . Staff hustle to get food (which is really hot a delicious) but there are times where I've had to wait 20-30 min for my drink/food. The prices for the tickets are reasonable but food/beverages purchased is usually 30% more than what I'd pay elsewhere (personal pizza for $14, salads for $10-13, non alcoholic drinks (with refills) $5). There are promos , if you sign up, in order to receive free popcorn, etc. it still remains one of my favorite theaters for the ambiance, food (alcohol and non alcohol , GF options) and customer service .

Tech H.

Yelp
Nestled in an old strip mall with a vintage 80's vibe and theme, Video Vortex could be special IF more money went into renovations. Furniture and carpet/flooring is dated and smelly. It's the first thing you notice when being seated which translates to an ever present cringe factor throughout your viewing. Staff is courteous and prompt but I don't feel the mandatory 18% gratuity, while not obscene, is justified. I recommend this venue not for the big screen experience but perhaps for a quick cocktail and/or beer at the bar to accompany a bite to eat. This is my 3rd or 4th time visiting but I can guarantee there will not be a 5th.

Yelp
An experience! The kids and I went to the Alamo Drafthouse for the first time. The decor and retro vibe was super cool upon arriving at the counter the staff was super friendly and helpful. Once arriving in the theater we ordered dinner and milk shakes for dessert. Food was delivered promptly with a SMILE Movie was great, staff was incredibly pleasant, and atmosphere was very eloquent! We will be returning! Thanks Alamo!

Marie S.

Yelp
Nice place! My first time going to this theatre. When you enter there are shelves of movies probably about ever movie ever made. They are organized by title, producer or genre - if you can't find what you are looking for just ask the helpful people behind the desk. The movies are for rent (keep for a week at a time) We came to see "Spy Family "(it was really good) You can order food and drinks (full bar) from counter or from the comfort of your seat. The seats are big, individual, power and comfortable. We ordered food and drinks from our seat during the movie- the service was quick and the food was tasty. They add 18% already on your bill. The bathrooms were clean and gender neutral.

Yelp
I love coming to the Alamo Drafthouse, its so unique and offers a nostalgic experience. They have a wide selection of beefs on tap with is a great plus. The food has always been pretty good, always hot, and relatively fast. The servers are always attentive and helpful. I do wish the theaters were a bit more cared for sometimes in the smaller theaters the floor may be sticky or a surface table. The seat dont necessarily recline rather just kicks your feet up and the table doesnt move either. But overall the experience is still enjoyable, im comfortable, and love the atmosphere.

Kim G.

Yelp
The parking lot is a very large smooth space with lots of parks. Very cute area outside and when you walk in the space is nostalgic and creative. There's a bar with plenty of beer option on draft. Our theatre was larger than I expected. It was clean and still an old school vibe. The seats were a nice size with the arm rest that divides and do not move. The seats have foot rest that comes up, but the back of the chair doesn't move. That was a little uncomfortable. The food was good. The cheese sticks with the sauce were especially good to me. There is a service fee automatically added %18. Family of four this was very expensive, we had two drinks each along with our food and an appetizer. They thought I ordered another banana daiquiri but I didn't and we just kept it. We will just be more specific when we request refills. Overall I was impressed and I would come back.

Yelp
Came to see Barbie at 8:30 on 7/28 and had a great experience. Our service was great. It does some time take a few minutes to get your items but the staff works fast to get your order in. There were several showings around the same time and the lobby area was also pretty full so I'm sure the kitchen was very busy! The beer list is long includes lots of great local craft options but we opted for the bourbon peach smash and a margarita on the rocks with watermelon purée added. Both drinks were amazing and the prices are the same you pay at a restaurant and the quality was equal if not better. My favorite thing we had was the ninja turtle Bebopcorn, which was amazing and I wish a permanent menu item. The pizza seasoning and crispy pepperonis added a little bit of spice and the flavors were so great. I was also surprised by how much popcorn fits in those bowls. It's definitely worth the price I just wish I could take the left overs home!

Yelp
I enjoyed seeing the Barbie movie at Alamo. I've had it on my bucket list to visit and was finally able to cross it off today during their 1130 matinee. The staff here are excellent and the vibe is totally retro. They offer plenty of beers on tap and a free vintage video rental service for those of you still mourning the loss of Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. Alamo offers an unmatched dine-in experience. Their menu is pretty extensive with cool boozy milkshakes, brunch and gourmet flavored popcorn like churro ! When I arrived I scanned my ticket with the staff and headed to theater 3. I absolutely loved the old school vintage theme of the venue. Very unique and very reminiscent of Nighthawk theater in Brooklyn New York. But wayyyy better reclining seats. Our waitress was awesome. She provided excellent service. I wrote my order down on paper and pressed the service button. My pineapple cider beer and Royale burger & fries arrived in less than 10 minutes. I kid you not. Everything was really good. I enjoyed the hot fries and pickle. The burger was very filling and well dressed. My only issues were how crowded the restroom lines were, the seats do not fully recline in back, the dining trays at our seats do not move to accommodate you when eating and they don't offer stadium seating. Seats are low. Other than these complaints, Alamo is a cool place to catch dinner and a movie.

Yelp
my favorite movie theater in raleigh! i love being able to order food and drinks right to my seat during the movie and appreciate the staff's effort and care. this theater makes going to the movies feel like a real event , and i am excited to join their monthly movie passes !

Yelp
Another successful Alamo visit. I am a frequent at Alamo Drafthouse and have been since 2018. When I am in Raleigh, this is my go-to theater! Me and my friends visited for the Taylor Swift Eras Tour movie. We sat front row, just in case people were dancing in the theatre or standing up. Alamo was very great about letting people being able to sing along and clap and cheer. It was so cute hearing everyone sing a long, a whole theater full of swifties!! They had special themed drinks, including a mocktail, which I got. It was very good, I ordered two. The serves were really busy that night so there was a bit of confusion with food going to the wrong seat but it was all a quick fix. We had a great time. Can't wait for my next visit in the very near future.

L B.

Yelp
Coming here makes you feel like a VIP! Great vibes upon entry, kind and energetic individuals, great food and drink options. The menu can be pricey but it's the experience you're paying for!!

Jennie B.

Yelp
There are two things that I don't like about the Alamo Drafthouse: it's in Raleigh (which is a commute I do not like to do from Durham) and I always spend a lot of money there. If you are going to go to the movies and want it to be an "experience" then this is the place to pull out all the stops. You do have to reserve your seats, but these theatres are small enough that I do understand why. The prices are similar to similar theatres, however, where they get you is the food and drinks (and the ordering process). The menu is huge and everything that I have had has been great. To order you take a piece of paper that is on your seat and simply write down what you would like, fold up the paper and put it in the clip that is provided for the waiter to pick up. As this process does not require writing down any numbers or doing math whatsoever, it is very easy to ignore how much you are spending. The staff are very quick and attentive and (much like a trip to Target) I always end up spending more than I planned. I've only been to the bar once and it had a good selection and good prices. I like it when they have drinks that match with the themes of the movies. They also do other theme movies and I've heard those are really fun but haven't gotten to experience one of those yet-- hopefully that will change!

Delaney S.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for the first time for a date night tonight and loved it!! I was a little hesitant after reading some mixed reviews but the whole experience was so fun! The vibe and decor of the whole place is really cool and nostalgic. The staff are super friendly and attentive from start to finish. We ordered our tickets online the day before to reserve our seats. As recommended, we got there 30 minutes early and got to watch the pre-show while ordering our food. It was a funny collection of old school cartoons and shorts that went along with the theme of our movie. Our food came out very quickly and was really good! The popcorn was buttery and salty in the best way! We also tried the mozzarella sticks and they were delicious. Everything was reasonably priced from the tickets to the food compared to what you pay at a regular theater. We will definitely be coming back here soon!!

Kara P.

Yelp
Absolutely loved my first visit here. So retro and a complete vibe. The staff was super attentive and kind. This was my three year-olds first time in a movie theatre and this was a nice atmosphere for it. Each seat comes with its own serving tray and light with menu underneath. The menu is extensive with vegan options, kids menu and reasonably priced all things considered. We had the Peppermint Shake which was soooo yummy as well as a Ginger Beer/Strawberry Cocktail and a kids pizza. We also had a coupon for unlimited popcorn and they loaded each person in my party up with gigantic bowls of it. It was fun! I definitely look forward to returning. You can also order DVDs and VHS from here.

Riyona A.

Yelp
We. Love. This. Place! The vintage vibes were amazing! Nostalgia everywhere! The staff was so friendly. They had an extensive menu of food and drinks. It's so nice to just get comfy in lounge chairs and just relax and enjoy the show, quite literally. We will be back!

Megan H.

Yelp
We love the Alamo draft house. We go here at least once a month for a movie, dinner, and beer. The staff is fantastic and the service is always accurate. The lobby can get a little wild on Trivia nights but we love it. If you're going to a movie, show up half an hour early to catch their special compilation of videos to watch beforehand. It's worth it. The ordering process after the show starts is absolutely silent. You order with an order card and someone picks it up. If you're interested in a place you can talk through the movie, attend a movie party or go somewhere else. We will be back soon, I'm sure!

Kellie R.

Yelp
I used to frequent Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers, NY and finding out that Raleigh has one, I'm stoked!! We pretty much live here at this point. This location is SO much better than Yonkers!! This theater is huge and has a cool store full of VHS and DVDs, a small selection of shirts, and some film trinkets (Harry Potter candles, Alien tiki mugs, etc). The theater itself was nice. The recliner seats are super comfy and each seat has a cup holder. The menu item was nice and I was excited to see that this location has pickle fries (Yonkers took that item off about a year ago). Sound quality is great in every theater (I do believe I have now been in every room at this point. The food was excellent and service was awesome. We have the Alamo Pass which allows unlimited movies each month which is great because they're always playing old and new movies, so sometimes, we visit day after day. The movie parties are a ton of fun, too! There's no other theater that comes close to how amazing Alamo Drafthouse is.

Cheryl L.

Yelp
Had an exceptional time with excellent food and service while watching the movie. I cannot wait to return!

Athena R.

Yelp
We love coming here - will never go anywhere else again. First of all - super cool set-up! You can never go wrong with Retro. ;) Staff is friendly & efficient. Food is good.

Shelby L.

Yelp
Love coming here! The service is great and the food is also. I love the popcorn and all the food was delicious but my favorite was the cauliflower.

stephan b.

Yelp
It was great and I watched twister it was boring but the service was great I ordered the pepperoni pizza it tasted great but I wish it was bigger I'm going back to watch speak no evil

Ciarra J.

Yelp
Walked in straight from the train station with bags. No one looked at me weird and I took a seat at the bar while I waited for my girls. Elliot suggested The Who Ya Gonna Call! IYKYK How cute is that! After asking me my preferences and taste. It is a Hazy IPA with a citrus finish. So good! The music was low but vibing and the crowd was mixed, families, couples, and friend groups. Place is retro and gives you Block Buster vibes! We went to our movie and enjoyed. I ordered popcorn and cauliflower bites. My popcorn didn't come and the server seemed a little overwhelmed but overall a good experience. Comfy seats, pleasant staff, meteoric food, great drinks! I am a little chatty and I was nervous about the silence thing but no one attacked me and dragged me out when I made a few comments during the movie! (In case you are like me and like to ad lib a little during a movie)

Analyze J.

Yelp
This salad I created from their menu. It was delicious. And my server was wondering because this was my first visit.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Such a great spot to watch a movie especially when you're visiting from out of town! Fast service and comfortable seats! Love that I'm able to just order beverages, cocktails, and food without worrying to get up and miss half the movie! This spot is super cute and gives such a vintage ambiance. Great spot to hang out and have drinks before your movie!

Anissa W.

Yelp
11/2/22: It was our FIRST & LAST time visiting this place today. We went to see "Smile" & purchased our tickets online. There was an almost $4 "surcharge" for doing that, but I blew it off. We went inside theatre #9 and waited for the server. Being that it was our first visit, we researched the menu online and already knew what we wanted. The cashier and server weren't the friendliest, but we stayed there because we already purchased the tickets. The recliner wasn't comfortable & the placement of the "table" wasn't ergonomically correct. What's the point of having a table that can't be adjusted and sits far away from the person eating food? We literally had the plates on our laps. Why? We ordered chicken strips/fries and pepperoni pizza. The chicken strips were tasty, BUT the fries were beyond old/cold. I wanted to send them back, but I had a greedy person with me who insisted on keeping them out of starvation. The pizza was blah & the bottom of the crust was burnt. Definitely wasn't worth what we had to pay. We asked for a refill of Sprite and the server never brought it but was quick to bring the check. We could've purchased 5 2-liters for the price of that one cup of Sprite. Never again!!! On top of all that, there were bugs flying all over the place. All in all, we didn't enjoy this place AT ALL. I'd rather go elsewhere for less cost and I can get more quality food and better service. The only highlight of this visit was the clean restroom that had sanitary supplies for women. That was a plus.

Unika B.

Yelp
So retro and nostalgic. I came out to see the Barbie movie and there was a round of bingo going on in the lobby. It seems they have a free VHS movie rental system going on here also. So cool. Unika B. & Co.

Yelp
For those coming in new I think it's reasonable to have a decent experience, but those that have gone to Alamo Drafthouse for years probably have noticed a massive plunge in quality since COVID hit and they never really have recovered. Long gone are the magical days of being able to order a french press coffee with blueberry compote donuts, instead you can settle for a stale coffee and mediocre cookie. Long gone are the days of being able to order a unique dish like a hot link breakfast sandwich or a beerbacoa torta. Instead you should be grateful to get overpriced and underwhelming pizza and burgers. I have a fond memory of going to a free tea party event as a perk for being a frequent visitor. The Victory Rewards have been eliminated since. I used to be an Alamo evangelizer and having a season pass was, dare I say, a point of pride. Not anymore, this place barely deserves a recommendation and it's only hanging on, in my opinion, by showing classic movies that no one else offers. Alamo's edge was always in the overall intangible feeling of it's uniqueness, which helped a ton in overlooking its shortcomings. With that gone, you can (and should) go to the Fenton theatre for a much better experience in every single metric. The fact of the matter is that this place has reached a state of mediocrity where they don't really have an incentive to be the magical place they used to be, because they still manage (and will probably continue) to fill out the now increasingly deteriorating and dingy seats. I'm just glad to have been able to enjoy its glory days while they lasted.

Bryan L.

Yelp
I really couldn't decide between a 3 or a 4. The seats are comfortable but the service is...odd. I appreciate the firm rules on phones and talking but the food doesn't begin being served until it's dark in the theater. So you end up with wait staff getting in the way and people trying to figure out how they can eat the food. Speaking of which, I think the prices are way too inflated for the type of food you're eating. Nothing in there is made fresh so charging $25-30 or more for entrees isn't reasonable. The lobby is cool and we used to play trivia there but overall I'd say the whole concept is rather pretentious. At the end of the day, it's a chain just like Applebee's.

Yelp
This place was amazing! A friend of mine and I went here yesterday and saw the movie About my Father. It was like walking back in time the second we step foot in the lobby, I loved all of the nostalgia of it all! As first timers, I must say the bar service, ticket check in and the in service theatre were superb! The menu offered many options and I was very happy with my food and beverage. I had a blueberry beer, then switched to the unlined soda, a bottomless buttered popcorn and pizza. I don't recall the specific name of the pizza I had but it's main toppings were brussel sprouts and bacon and it was absolutely delicious. The reclining chairs were comfy. This is the best movie experience I've had, maybe ever, and I will make the 50 minute drive from north Durham again! Thank you for a fabulous experience and keep up the good work!

Yelp
Update: It's been over a week and nobody has reached out! Just in case you think Alamo cares about you and your money- rethink it and remember they literally do not care if you get sick from their food, if employees are grossly inappropriate towards you, or if you're forgotten about while watching a movie. Expect an in person stop soon since trying to handle things via email/over the phone proves to be ineffective time and time again.

Yelp
I've been a fan of the Alamo chain for many years now, and this location has been my favorite. There are plenty of closer theaters to me but my wife and I won't see a movie anywhere else. It's best to arrive early to watch the pre-show and order food/drinks before the trailers start. The regular menu is great but I always like to try items off the rotating specialty menu because they never disappoint. Great food and drinks, comfortable reclining seats, and Alamo's no talking/no phones policy make this the best theater around. I almost hesitate to write a review because if you go, that's fewer seats available for me!

Yelp
I love the food and the beer and definitely the ambience and I love the little snacks that they have. I love their menu! Sometimes though it's packed, which is understandable but still.

Yelp
How I so much want to love this place. I still keep going back. I like the independent theater. Food is OK, Popcorn mediocre.

Yelp
Comfy seats. Good quality and variety of food and drinks. Fast and friendly service. Atmosphere is fun and more intimate than large theater houses.

Yelp
I'll admit I first started going to Alamo Drafthouse because I could have cocktails with my movie but now it's my first choice theater. They have a nice menu although I do miss chicken wings! The drinks are also always good and the service is great. I appreciate the fact that people can't talk and text because it allows for the focus to be on the movie and eliminates distractions. The theater is also always clean and there has always been plenty of parking of when I go.

Yelp
We had a pretty great experience seeing the latest Black Panther film! The seats were comfortable, the ordering system worked great, and the spiced popcorn they were offering as part of the specialty menu was absolutely DELICIOUS (especially paired with a vanilla milkshake ). One thing to note though is that the tables are small and off to the side, really intended for holding 1-2 drinks and giving a writing surface to jot down orders or maybe resting a small dish while you're not actively eating. Any food you intend to eat will likely need to be eaten with the dish sitting in your lap. Perfectly fine for popcorn, but might be annoying if eating burgers/pizza/etc.

Yelp
In total transparency, I haven't seen a movie here. I e stopped in for some delicious chocolate chip cookies, popcorn, and a beer. I enjoyed the beer selection tremendously! Everyone I've encountered there has been friendly and helpful.

Yelp
My first time at the Alamo was in 2018, with an ex boyfriend. We didn't last, but my love for the Alamo did. Haha Sunday I took my younger sister to see One Piece and she was AMAZED. She is a very quite, serious girl, but this afternoon she was all smiles and had LOTS to say. I was so happy because I have never seen her like this. She couldn't stop laughing and really enjoyed her experience as such a cool theater. One of the best things about the Alamo is that you can not only order food, but it's GREAT food at a very low price with amazing service, WHILE WATCHING YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE what more could you ask for? Drinks? They've got those, too. I recommend coming in an hour early to have a drink at the bar and explore the lobby/store while you wait for your show to start. We booked two tickets to Wakanda Forever, before we left Sunday and are both very excited for our next trip to the Alamo! Meal recommendation: The Grilled Chicken Avocado club (substitute fried chicken) with loaded fries and a side of ranch ANY shake (they're the best) ** The pineapple upside down donut holes looked great, but the donut holes have a very dry, spongey texture and we did not enjoy them. **

Yelp
I went with a couple friends, and had the best time ever. Everything is spotless, very kind workers, they do a great job with the food and drinks, and they have the coolest mini store when you first walk in! Super comfy too. All in all, you have to come here.

Yelp
Hubby and I had date night at the movies! I wanted to experience a different movie experience so I selected Alamo Drafthouse for our date movie! Purchased our tickets then I read a few unpleasant reviews. I will be honest. I was nervous! The minute we stepped in the door, my concerns went out the door! Everyone we encountered were super nice and very kind! The decor was amazing and the seats were roomy and comfortable! We ordered drinks and a bowl (yes a bowl) of popcorn! The small touches, Waiting on us in our seats, the bottomless bowl of popcorn made Us feel like we were watching a movie at home! Next time you plan to go to the movies, check out the Alamo Drafthouse, you won't regret it!

Yelp
I've been here twice in the last month or so to see a film and am really liking it much more than my first visit. Going for a matinee offers a discount for admission and I'm all about saving money where I can. The seats are a little tough for me to get in and out of cos I have an issue with my knees. Also, the recliner doesn't seem to stay in place when I set it up. I need to ask about that on my next visit. The food offerings are a bit pricey, but coming here for a film is a whole package experience so I'm willing to splurge every now and then. On this last visit I had the cinema to myself and the person who brought the food and beverages was so wonderful. Hopefully she'll be there next time I visit.

Yelp
Very comfortable seats and good food. Bathrooms are not always clean and the floors are kinda sticky.
