"For an upscale take on traditional Hawaiian cuisine, make a reservation at Alan Wong’s. The famous Hawaiian chef now has a restaurant in Shanghai, too, where he serves his sophisticated takes on local specialties, like coconut lamb chops with Macadamia nuts, salmon and rice Ochazuke, and some excellent sashimi and poké options. Part of their claim to fame: This is one of President Obama’s favorite places to eat in his hometown."

Good food and impressive service. They will provide a personalized and signed menu for customers celebrating birthday or anniversary here. I tired their menu tasting, which costs $95 per person. It included an appetizer, 3 entrees and 1 dessert. I like the 3 entrees best, especially short rib. We also exchanged one of our desserts to coconut icecream, but that one is not really impressive.

My sister and I joined my best friend and his partner for a valentine's dinner here. They have a special menu set for valentine's and the food, pictures I've added, were delicious. It cost $105 for the dinner and $155 to add wine pairing which was perfect. The service by Mike was amazing - he's attentive, easy to talk to and funny. There is valet parking so you don't have to fuss. However, it costs $7 😆 🙄

Average food. Not even comparable to Roy's which beats this hands down easily. Excellent service though. The lobster bisque was probably the best thing we had. The seafood dumplings were dry and flavorless. The beef rib dish was more like a pot roast, nothing special. The salmon was cooked perfectly, but again nothing wowed me about it. The chocolate cake was way too airy and just had a basic cocoa taste to it, nothing rich nor unique.

Truly exceptional dining experience. Every course was perfectly executed and the presentations were unique and fanciful. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and this place will not disappoint. Great value for the quality and quantity of the food.

Unfortunately one of the more unfortunate high end restaurants I have been to. Seems like a fancy restaurant that overcharges, and tries to have a michelin star but far from achieving one. Service: waiter and waitresses forgot about us, we actually heard "ahhh" and saw a waiter turn the other direction because he forgot about our food (we had asked about long wait). For a 5 course tasting menu, it took nearly 3 hours. It normally takes a 7-9 course tasting menu for me to make it last 3 hours. It was also to celebrate a birthday and engagement. The names on the plate were incorrect for our dessert. Food: good, but not amazing. Two of the five dishes were tasty. Foie gras kahlue pork grilled cheese with tomato soup (though the soup was a bit salty), and the twice cooked slow braised ribs. The signature sauce for the fish dish was also good, but the fish was very meteocre. My lobster and shrimp lasagne was unpleasant as well - both my mother and I had pasta that was incredibly undercooked. Price: for the price, I'd think quality and service of food would be better. Parking: valet is five dollars without tip. Typically parking is free and you give tip to the valet in my experience.

The atmosphere was perfect. The service was impecable and the food was awesome. The portions are the correct size (if not a bit on the larger one). Their drink selection is cool. The location is a bit hard to find. The desserts are creative - they rebuilt a coconut using chocolate and coconut ice cream.

I have dined at Alan Wongs a few times and each visit never disappoints. The casual atmosphere is nice and the service is always on great. The food is delicious and each visit I leave with a new go to favorite dish. I tried their sweet potato lemonade mocktail and it was refreshing and interesting. Reservations are a must!!! Try the tasting menu, it's a wonderful way to try a few dishes for a decent price but the whole table must order the tasting menu.

Just the best experience on our anniversary. Simply the best Prix fixe dinner ever! The servers were very knowledgeable about the food and drinks and very attentive. The staff even signed our menu to celebrate our anniversary.
