I’ve flown in and out of Austin airport using Alaska Airlines approximately six times now and I have had nothing but excellent service. They have been usually on time with arrival and departures. We get timely app notifications, which I appreciate. On one occasion, there was one CSA employee at the counter that I noticed while in the line. She appeared as of though she was not feeling like she wanted to work or smile and work at 4am. LOL! However, by the time she assisted me, she ended with a smile and stated to have a great day. I am happy to continue flying with Alaska Airlines. 😃

I was on flight AS 518 on August 6, 2025, 4:11 pm flying from TX, and the flight attendant, "Dominic", went above and beyond our expectations—not only for us but for everyone on the plane. Thank you! I highly recommend that his exceptional service be recognized and rewarded.

Most of the counter and baggage staff here are just fine, no complaints there. However, the woman calling herself the manager is extremely unpleasant to deal with. There's another review here describing an employee hitting their coworker with a cart and then yelling at them, I am 100% certain that's the same person I dealt with when checking in for an international codeshare flight last month. She was rude, obstructive, verbally abusive, and intentionally damaged and delayed my bags because I objected to the way she was treating me.

Day before Thanksgiving. Busiest travel day of the year. This baggage/ticket desk doesn’t open till 4AM and my flight is at 6AM. I’ll now have 1.5 hours to try to make my flight. What in the actual %#^*+.

Alaska is a waste. Customer service doesn't exist anymore. I understand you can't do anything about weather delays but they don't care about you. They stick you on a plane for 6 extra hours with no air no room to breathe or stand. Offer you nasty water from a box. They need better customer service. You wait 6 hours for a storm to pass but the store lasts 30 minutes. The rest of the time is sitting and waiting for what? In a hot airplane at that. At least let people get out stretch their legs or something. Poor service. I won't be using any "credit vouchers" offered cause its not worth the hassle.

Had a flight from Austin Texas to Seattle to bring a new puppy home. The information they had on the site was easy to see what requirements I needed to be able to fly the little guy. The staff at the airport was fantastic about making sure he got pets and cuddles before going into his crate. You are given a tag when you pet is loaded onto the plane, so you don't have to worry about him being left behind. Pick up on the other end at Seattle was quick, they really worked to get him to me as soon as possible

Love the service and reliability of Alaska, I fly frequently and have absolutely never had a glitch!!!

Google
No one, including the airline, wants delayed flights. It messes everything up for everyone, airline and passenger alike. However, it happens for a variety of reasons and on every airline I have ever flown. Alaska airlines and their employees handled the delay I experienced like champs from every angle. Every single one of them was kind, understanding, professional, and did their absolute best to make a difficult situation go as smoothly as possible. Alaska, you have earned a loyal customer, thank you for being awesome! (And ignore those idiots that expect everything to be perfect all of the time!)

Yelp
In this crazy mixed up times of cancelled flights, horrible delays and uninspired service it was a joy to fly Alaska Airlines. We travel to Anchorage a couple of times a year and we decided to try Alaska Airlines. From the ease of booking flights to the service of every team member we were overwhelmed by how well this company does business. The person at check in was so friendly and genuinely happy to be helping us. "Have a great trip and enjoy your stay in Anchorage", she said. How wonderful that she told us to have a great trip! The flight service people were the best! We seated ourselves and before we could get settled she asked if we would like a dink. While waiting for the rest of the passangers to board I was sipping a mimosa and reading the saftey brouchure. I always read that thing. The lounge in Seattle was huge! Food buffet was on point with a chef there ready to make special orders. The team on the ground at the lounge were so kind and happy. This is a great airline and we are making plans to change our mileage program cc to Alaksa Airlines. They have proven to be the best we have used in years.

Yelp
I flew Alaska from Austin to SJC this week. It was uneventful which is the way I like my flight. Food and service on the flight was good. Plus points for the gooey warm chocolate chip cookie. Can't believe the stewardess asked me if I wanted one! Knocking a star off for the rude gate staff. It was not directed at me but the tone of how they were engaging with others was not what they teach in customer service class.

Yelp
As an EP with American Airlines and One World Emerald, I was pleased that I could take a direct flight from AUS-SFO on Alaska. I was also upgraded to 1st Class for this flight. Check-in was smooth and the people were very friendly. When I got to the gate my name was called, so I went to go see what the gate agent wanted. I was told that they were taking my upgrade away because the seat was broken. I was put back into my original seat in Premium Economy, so that's the only good part. Once I boarded I watched to see how 1st Class filled up. As I expected, someone sat in the seat I was assigned! This is beyond just disappointing because clearly I was not told the full story. As a result I will NOT be flying Alaska any further. This level of disrespect to a One World Emerald flyer is beyond excuse. If there were 2 seats not functional, then Alaska you best get with it on making sure your equipment is fully functional...especially in 1st Class because that is where not only your MVP travelers and One World Elites are sitting! Very disappointing to say the least.

Yelp
They don't staff their counter for 2 hours in the middle of the morning and expect their customers just to stand and wait for 2 hours to check in. Worst service and worst expectation of their clients. Trash airline

Yelp
Post Covid trip out of SAN: Tuesday morning 8:00 departure. I arrived on the second level 6:35 a.m. where Alaska airlines has an assistance desk. Everything can be done there in a short period of time. The line may look long, but the customer service representatives are well-trained and move airline travelers through quickly. After getting the boarding pass, checking in the luggage, the entrance door to the gate aisles is just a short walk. I'd leave a little bit more time if you don't have a TSA precheck, because those lines can be very very long. All in all, I finished everything and was at the gate by 7:00 a.m. What an awesome accomplishment for an airline! The airline crew was great, the overhead bins were not overflowing which happens on many other airlines. The seats were very comfortable, drink service and snack service are still available. Alaska airline flight crew guaranteed luggage available at the carousel within 20 minutes or they would provide a discount. Luggage arrived in 10! Honestly, a very pleasant experience on Alaska Airlines!

Yelp
I normally don't review airlines but I have to commend Alaska Airlines in the Austin Airport. The front desk check in counter staff were very friendly and punctual. I have flown several domestic and international first/business class category cabins from different major airline carriers. The BEST domestic first/business class food I have had so far. This is their fall bowl with roasted potatoes, sautéed spinach, sausage, egg, with a delicious hollandaise sauce! The airbus we flew in was very spacious for a domestic first class cabin. So much leg room and even a foot rest! I hope their airfares continue to be competitive. I purchased our tickets at a much lower rate compared to other major airline carriers in the Austin airport. If you haven't flown Alaska yet...I highly recommend it! I would also recommend to make sure you purchase your seats in advance. They were oversold on this flight by 5 people. If you wait to get your seating assigned (I.e get the base rate airfare) there is a chance you might be bumped off if there are no volunteers. This is a common practice by airlines. So just a heads up...

Yelp
I booked a saver flight with Alaska airlines. The flight fare that clearly stated that "seat selection was included" . Don't believe them! I was actually not allowed to select a seat on the saver rates even if they advertise as " seat selection included" .When I was making my purchase it showed many seats available for my choosing. But once I I selected it , it changed to " a request for a seat" They actually mean you May request one but they will actually seat you where they want to( in the least desirable seats). Had they been honest from the start, I would have purchased flight from another airline. Now I'm stuck with this flight.. since they took more than 24 hours to show my seat " request" was not available even if it showed it available when I selected it- and still available . I will never purchase a flight from Alaska airlines again. What's to say I have any guarantee to select a seat on any of their economy price tiers? To me it felt like "bait and switch tactic" fool you into thinking you can select a seat when in actuality , after you purchase your ticket you are later lead to a seat page that offers you the ability to upgrade/ pay more money for a better seat" than the one they assign you by the toilet .. someone please tell them that seat selection is not the same as a seat assignment. And that they need to be clear and state that price does NOT include seat selection but instead offers seat assignment.

Yelp
Alaska is always 5 stars! The CSAs at the desk were so nice and they actually upgraded our seats for free! The people at the gate were very upbeat and the flight attendants are all friendly and helpful. We always fly Alaska and really HATE it when we go somewhere that AK doesn't go... then we get stuck on another airline that SUCKS (not mentioning any names). Thanks for being you Alaska Airlines!

Yelp
I knew I shouldn't have trusted Alaska Airlines with my travel plans. We booked a flight through American Airlines only to find out it was an Alaskan Airlines flight. The flight was scheduled to leave at 7:30 am, so I get my 5 year old up at 4:30 am to head to the airport, only to find out that the flight has been delayed until 11:30 am. That's very suspicious, given that they were offering up to $300 in flight vouchers yesterday for people to take a later flight. I assume they were overbooked. But looking for alternate flights today, they are still selling tickets to the same flight! To add salt to the wound, they send an email voucher this morning to purchase food at "participating restaurants" and it was only for one of us. Alaska Airlines sucks. Never again.

Yelp
I have had a dicey relationship with Alaska Airlines in the past. This trip, I logged in and paid a reasonable price, in advance for first class seat and service, for me. I was really amazed at the quality of my meal flying from San Francisco to Austin. It was breakfast, pretty hard to mess that up. But, I'm writing a review so it just have been an amazing meal! Yes, it was a little over cooked poached egg, that tasted good with a chorizo sausage, spinach or maybe kale and in a light ratatouille like sauce. Oh wow, it was so good! The airline must be re-organizing because this also came with a petite cinnamon roll that was also really good. I think I'm just spazzing on my airplane breakfast. Try Alaska and if able try first class on a long flight, it's worth it, to me. Live every moment!

Yelp
Flight attendant extremely rude to passenger over swapping seats when be didn't. And goes and and tells him... "ok whatever" Ummm rude like ok gonna I to the basics and practice customer service

Yelp
I had an extremely frustrating experience with Alaska. I got an email in the morning of my flight saying the flight was delayed by an hour to 8:45AM. I slept in a bit longer but still got up in time to be at the gate before this new delayed departure time BUT found that the flight had actually left before the new departure time. No refund/discount/let's get you on the next flight.. just nothing helpful whatsoever from discussing with the staff online at Alaska air. So I ended up having to book a completely new ticket for full price. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Still love Alaska Air. The return flight was a Virgin plane and the nearly lay flat seats in first class. That was great for an early morning flight. What did I learn today? I will be sad to see the Virgin first class seats go.

Yelp
Normally I have positive experiences with Alaska Air.. This was my daughter's first solo flight; her boarding pass stated one gate, the reader board stated another.. we checked with Alaska Air staff who said the boarding pass WAS correct.. she even called to "verify" with someone else to whom she said "it's happening again".. wait..what's happening?? Hmm.. Word to the wise: if you want to be at the correct gate for your flight, you can't trust what the staff say - unfortunately.

Yelp
This is my experience today (Wednesday 8 May 2019) at the Alaska desk at Bergstrom (AUS) airport in Austin TX. For a flight leaving at 15:15, I arrived at the terminal three hours before flight time. There was no one at the Alaska desk, but the helpful people at the Lufthansa desk assured me that the Alaska desk would be open at noon. So I took a little walk and came back at 12:05, only to see a line of about 12 people already waiting to check in. I joined them, figuring it would be only a few minutes. We waited. And waited. And waited. There is absolutely no seating available near the Alaska desk, so not only were senior citizens waiting to get their bags checked so they could go through Security, they also had to stand up the entire time. During this time I could see that Lufthansa had agents at their desk. JetBlue had agents at their desk. United Airlines had agents at their desk. American Airlines had agents at their desk. Southwest Airlines had agents at their desk. In fact, every other airline at that end of the terminal had agents ready to help their customers. Every airline, that is, except Alaska. At 12:45 the first agent came out. She's very attractive and very efficient, but she was the only one who emerged from wherever Alaska agents hide before they clock in. I counted the number of passengers waiting to check in - there were 47 paying passengers standing in line (remember, there is no seating available) for up to 45 minutes waiting for the desk to open. After checking my bag I made my way to Security, where the TSA agent informed me that Alaska paper tickets issued by the kiosks do not scan about 80% of the time. Here we are almost twenty years into the 21st Century, and Alaska Airlines has kiosks that cannot print a legible PDF417 bar code. So, Alaska Airlines: your app says "We Listen." So listen to this: have your agents open the desk four hours ahead of scheduled flight time like every other airline does. If you won't do that, provide some seating so your customers are a little less peeved when the desk finally opens. Fix the thermal printers in your kiosks or switch over to laser printers and heavier-stock paper. From now on I will refer to Alaska Airlines as The American Aeroflot. And this is going on Yelp.

Yelp
Huge shout out to Holly who was working gate 34 and gates 32 on flights out of Austin Texas today. I was scheduled to fly on a stopover through San Diego and she assisted me in getting on a direct flight. Her work under pressure as multiple phones were ringing, and people appearing at the desk never even fazed her she's calm under pressure and Alaska should be proud that she's the face of their airline. Thank you Holly!!

Yelp
I don't know how people can give Alaska air 5 stars. My flight leaving a 7:00am due to mishandling from Alaska air booking agent, I finally get to the gate, running with my child, at 6:51am, and the Alaska agent would not letting me on board. I told them that I am here on time and I see the airplane still not leaving yet, but they still not letting me get on the plane. I beg and beg and explain to them that this is international travel therefore I cannot miss this flight. The booking agent told us that due to regulation by the government, they would not allow anyone boarding 10 minutes prior to flight leaving. Assuming this is a true regulation, I think, the Alaska air agent should provide me with expedite booking screening or transportation to the gate. This way I cannot be late! So Alaska Airline, I hope that regulation you told are true, because I will look into this. As for better service, you should provide customer with expedite screening process. Also to Alaska air booking agent, while you are booking my flight today, you should not stop and let me wait, so that, you can book another person behind me. This is very wrong. If I could give you a zero star I would.

Yelp
I've had only the best experiences on Alaska Airlines, each and every time I've flown them. Pleasant staff, clean airplanes with current amenities such as chargers and free movie steaming to my personal device, and their food and drinks price below other airlines and are often gmo free and local.

Yelp
I am in a long-distance relationship with my boyfriend from California. He was planning to visit me in Austin, Texas. I booked him the ticket but there was some kind of booking error and the flight that was supposed to be for October 30 somehow got booked for Nov 27. We didn't realize it until later and called them about the problem. They said they couldn't do anything about it except waive the flight change fee and we'd have to pay the difference. A difference of $237 for the grand total of $419.... on a one way trip. Less than ten minutes after my boyfriend reluctantly hands over all his money, I found him a ticket for $102.10. I call Alaska Airlines immediately and talk to a woman named Jenna. She tells me that although I found the flight for cheaper there is nothing they could do except credit him the money as a sort of "gift card" because he would not be able to get a refund. Sigh. I don't see why the exact same flight costs more than triple the amount with Alaska Airlines. Never, EVER shall I flight with them. EVER. You can bet that neither will my boyfriend. At least a refund of the difference would have been nice, but no, not even that could they do for us. Once again, never. I would recommend not booking AT ALL with them, like ever. However if they're the last airline on Earth, then I suppose just be careful how you book.

Yelp
I was impressed. As someone who flies once a year or less, I usually dread the experience -- cramped seating, delayed flights, endless waits on luggage, etc. I experienced none of those things with Alaska Airlines. Flying from Austin to Portland, and back, both our flights left the gate on time (within five minutes of scheduled flight times), and both flights went immediately to the runway and took off without extended waits on the tarmac. Both times, our luggage was ready by the time we got to bag claim (and we were hurrying). They have a 20-minute guarantee on the luggage, and it looks like they aim to keep that promise. Our flight attendants were friendly and attentive, which helped -- we had two young children flying with us. I'm 6'2", so I often experience what I call "JKS" (jammed knee syndrome) on airplanes, because the seats are usually so close together. On Alaska's "Embraer 175" jets, I had plenty of leg room, and the seat backs were high enough that I could rest my head on them (this isn't always the case when I fly). If I had to name a complaint, it might be that no meal was included on our return flight, which most definitely included lunch time. That flight left Portland in the morning (takeoff at 09:35 PDT) and landed in Austin at 15:10 CDT. So it was too early to eat lunch in Portland and too late to grab lunch in Austin. It means everyone on board missed a meal. I would definitely fly Alaska again, if possible (seems like most of their destinations are on the west coast, which means I might not get the chance, but I'd sure like to).

Yelp
Huge fan of Alaska and the crew. Check-in is easy, flights are almost always on time. The best part of Alaska is in-flight crew/service. I've not once encountered a bad flight attendant. Being from Seattle originally, I always support Alaska when possible.

Yelp
I love Alaska - travel this route (as well as Seattle to other Texas non stops) flights are on time - arrive early - killer rewards program and happy people.

Yelp
I was so skeptical about flying with this airlines but wow! Customer service was great! And the staff was very helpful. Defiantly will fly again with Alaska Airlines.

Yelp
Love everything about this airline. The ethics, customer service, the people, EVERYTHING!!!Simply the best!!

Yelp
Just recently flew the Austin-Seattle route and had one of the best experiences EVER. Every single employee of Alaska Airlines we encountered was happy, helpful and seemed to take pride in their job. The planes were clean & comfortable. Disclaimer here: we did have exit row seats (that we did NOT have to pay extra for). I only wish they flew more routes so that I could make Alaska Air my first carrier of choice.

Yelp
***OUTSTANDING SERVICE*** by Carlos Austin, Baggage Claim, Austin Bergstrum Int'l Airport We were unable to make our flight but two of our car seats did make the flight. Since we have small children, live an hour away from the airport and the Alaska baggage office is only open from 4pm to 7pm, picking up our car seats was going to be real issue for our family. After speaking with Carlos, he first attempted to coordinate a pickup through another office which has better hours and then ultimately worked with us to allow our parent to pickup the car seats. But that's not all, Carlos followed up with us multiple times, on his personal time, to ensure the planned events were going smoothly. Carlos even arranged to meet my parents at the curb with the car seats. I was shocked and truly grateful for the amazing service provided by Carlos Austin at Alaska Airlines in Austin and thought that I should write a thank you note. Thanks for the great service! Daivd
