The 24 Best Dubai Restaurants | Eater

"In 2021, locals excitedly awaited the arrival of arguably the most popular fast-food chain in the Arabian Gulf: Al-Baik. After five decades of operations, the Saudi Arabian chain marked its first foreign expansion with two new locations in Dubai, including one in the Dubai Mall. The place is known for its roasted and fried chicken, marinated in secret spices only known to the founders (a la KFC). You won’t find too much else on the menu — or need much else. I respect Al Baik as a company and the fact that their prices are more than reasonable, however I just don't find their food special at all. Not to my liking but I'm sure some people would disagree. I've certainly had better fried food. Al Baik is just an extremely popular busy cheap alternative. Good portion sizes for the money. You can't argue with the value.

I have high expectation for the chicken, but its just fine (nothing special). However, the nuggets and falafel are very good. The portion also big enough for group.

Al Baik Dubai Mall delivers a steady experience if you want quick fried chicken during a busy day. The service moves fast despite the long lines, and the staff handle orders with clear focus. The chicken stays hot, crisp, and seasoned in a way that keeps the taste consistent with the original style. The fries and sauces add simple options if you want a full meal. The seating area is limited, so the place works better for takeaway or a short stop. The location inside the mall makes it easy to reach from the main walkways. The prices stay reasonable compared to the portion size. Al Baik fits well if you want a quick meal while shopping or visiting the mall.

Like before we had other international brands such as KFC, McDonald and Hardee’s but I should confess this Arabic fast food brand is better than all of them and even the price is way more cheaper. I love the bread also and highly recommend this.

We finally tried AlBaik at Dubai Mall, and honestly, the experience was worth every minute of waiting in line. The queue was quite long, as expected, but it moved efficiently, and the staff managed the crowd really well with clear instructions and quick service once you reached the counter. The aroma of freshly fried chicken in the air made the anticipation even stronger, and by the time we got our order, the excitement had built up nicely. The food truly lived up to the hype. The famous fried chicken was incredibly crisp on the outside yet juicy and tender inside, seasoned to perfection with AlBaik’s classic blend of spices. The shrimp meal was equally impressive — perfectly golden and full of flavor — while the fries were hot, salty, and just the right level of crunchy. Their signature garlic sauce complemented everything beautifully, adding a creamy and tangy touch to each bite. The dining area was clean and well-maintained despite the large number of customers. We found a comfortable spot and enjoyed our meal while watching the lively atmosphere around us — a mix of locals, tourists, and families all savoring the same delicious experience. For the price and portion size, it’s excellent value, especially considering its prime location inside Dubai Mall. This visit reminded us why AlBaik continues to attract such a loyal following. If you haven’t tried it yet, the wait is absolutely worth it — a must-visit stop for any foodie in Dubai.

Awful from start to finish. When ordering I was pushed to order quickly without seeing all the options. I wanted nuggets meal with bread bun but ended up with salad no bun. I asked to order one piece of chicken to try this and was told we only do 4 pieces. Waited 8 minutes in the queue for the food, I opened the pack at the counter and the fries were. Cold. I had to repeat myself three times before he changed them, the new ones were only lukewarm. I told him this and again repeated myself three times but he is not changing them. I had zero napkins and asked for some and received 1 piece only, again had to ask for more and ended up with only 3 napkins for food eaten by hand! There was no choice of dips I asked him what they were but couldn’t understand his reply. They ended up being a ketchup type dip and a garlic one. Don’t waste your money, time or calories on this place, the food was greasy and cold - I barely ate any of it and the service was appalling.
