Best U-Pick Orchards and Fruit Farms Near Portland

"For more than 40 years, this family farm in Oregon City has grown strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, marionberries, peaches, apples, corn, tomatoes, Italian plums, and more. Call ahead for current U-pick availability, and bring boxes for carrying fruit home. Currently, the farm is offering tomatoes, apples, and pickling cucumbers. Just be aware that no pets are allowed at this farm. Visitors to Albeke are able to bring their own boxes to fill with produce or pick some up on-site." - Rachel Pinsky

I have been to a few different local farms, and this place has the best berries! They have a variety of berries: strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, marionberries, boysenberries, and blueberries. All the berries were slightly smaller, but much sweeter and more flavorful than those from other farms. At this time, they also take credit card payment, better than many farms that are cash only. If you have to pick from just one place, choose Albeke Farms!

A lovely little gem in Oregon city. Good variety of U-pick berries from well kept plants. Amazing price for U-pick per pound. Bonus for the two good dogs who will greet you when you arrive.

Picked $50 of blackberries. Half to find something not too far out of town. Easy to get to. Great staff. Also picked up a case of peaches for $40 to make peach pepper jelly. Would definitely come back.

Well my heart goes out to the dirt farmers! I will put my hard earned $$ in the small farmers pocket before the industrialized factory! The blackberries were ripe 2 weeks late this year but picked a beautiful 18lbs between the three of us! Good product!

Excellent berries! I picked up a flat yesterday, and they are SO GOOD!!

Google
Albeke farms has tons of awesome berries! You get to adventure out on their fields through the developing peaches and hear the bull frog in the pond while you pick blueberries! This is a real family farm, not some glitzy big advertising " farm" you see these days. The walk in the sun along the path makes you feel like you're really getting out of town- even though it's only 20min from Portland! Come for U- pick and pre- picked berries at Albeke farms in Oregon City- The farm dogs are super cool too.

Shuksan Strawberries @ $3/lb. Shuksans are great berries.

Yelp
Great family owned farm. We picked blackberries for about 30-40 min. Had enough to make a blackberry pie and some mixed berry jam. The raspberries were not ready but we purchased some from their store on site, as well as corn, yellow onions, plums, peaches and green beans. This farm is also a u-pick for tomatoes, peaches, raspberries, etc. Can't wait to come back. They do accept debit cards.

Yelp
Of all the berry stands around the area, Albeke's (albeit a farm and not a stand) has by far, the most fresh and sweetest berries of any I've been to. I've returned berries to other stands because they didn't taste right, and after several years of coming here, I've come to realize that it's just because Albeke's are that much better. I'm not sure what it is they do, but they do it right. I tend to be lazy since Albekes is usually at the Farmers market but some days, I just can't wait that long. My mouth was watering before I even got there. Picked up 1/2 flat about an hour ago and looks like I'll still be getting more at the Farmers market this weekend because since I've been home, almost half of them are gone already . Thanks Albeke's for your consistently fresh and mouth-watering produce!

Yelp
Super nice people and suer plentiful fields! Lots of berries and a flag system to guide you. $2.50 per pound means super cheap berries! Only about 30 minutes from Portland and so much better than the options on Sauvie Island. Would recommend!

Yelp
Fun morning for the family picking blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Worth $2.80 a pound: delicious!

Yelp
Fantastic farm! Great people and knowledgeable staff. They have the best vegetables, fruit and berries with a super fun U-Pick AND they have the greatest store with their specialty fruit/veg too. Will be going back again and again! Great for families too.

Yelp
Patience and good timing are the secrets to a fruitful life. At least that's how I remember the comment I heard many years back that resonated with me. (Although not so much have I learned to apply either.) Standing in the long line today at the Albeke Farms booth at the Boise Idaho Farmers Market to buy my very favorite and so short lived berry, Oregon Boysenberries, I thought about the opening comment. If you are patient to wait a bit and have the good timing to visit the market in the right weeks, you too can be beneficiary of Albeke Farms hard work to grow these bodalicious berries. I have recently changed my status from Oregonian to Idahoan and I was thinking, given it is Boysenberry season in Oregon right now and they don't really grow all that easily anywhere else, this year I'd miss out. Imagine my delight to find Albeke at the Boise Farmer's Market with Boysenberries to sell last week! As my hubby and I exited the market with the berries (and other treasures) two women stopped me to ask what they were. I told them and offered them a sample. But you know, with Boysenberries it is like the old Cheech and Chong line. "Heyheyhey...the first one's free...heyheyhey." Because they are addictively good. Even at the steep price of $3 / cup at the Albeke booth, I am happy to pay it to get my fix. Last week I walked right up to the Albeke table to make my purchase. This week, I had to stand in a sizeable queue with other people who were there to buy Boysenberries and Marionberries (first of the season they said) and raspberries and blueberries and blackcaps (only this week they said). I was happy to wait because it means Albeke is doing brisk business and maybe that means they'll come back to Boise next Boysenberry season too. I know how to be patient. THIS N THAT: A little sign at the Albeke booth says they'll carry your berries to your care for you if you're buying too many to carry yourself. Nice.

Yelp
I've been berry picking at this farm four times now this season and I can't say enough good things about them. Organized, accommodating, and the best berries around. Strawberries, raspberries, boysenberries and blueberries. It's different from other farms because they have a system for marking which bushes have already been picked, ensuring you're picking in an area that still has berries to pick.

Yelp
We picked peaches and blueberries with our 4 and 7-yr olds and everyone had a great time! The fruit is delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I arrived at Albeke Farms to meet up with some friends who were already there. We got three buckets for berries and were guided to rows of blackberries that had been heavily picked through, not leaving many for pickers like ourselves. We found our friends in a different patch of blackberries a few minutes' walk from the one we were guided to. After going through those, we found some rows of blueberries and we started picking those, too. All together, we had about one full bucket of blueberries and two and a half of blackberries. We went back to have them weighed and we were informed that we had been picking from closed fields and we shouldn't have been picking them in the first place. One woman said that they were supposed to charge double the price since we got them from areas we shouldn't have been in. All four of us said "we're sorry" because we genuinely hadn't realized that we weren't supposed to pick some and she just replied "I'm sorry too" in a nasty manner and put her hands up in the air. Our total was $43 all together but should have been $86, apparently. Perhaps they are nice, but the guilt that they made us feel made me not want to purchase the berries at all. None of the rows of berries had been blocked off, marked, or signed that they weren't for picking, and neither of the four of us had been told that there were specific berries that we weren't allowed to pick. They also can't possibly expect people not to wander around the farm when they leave them unattended in the fields. A few other people had been picking berries in the same place we were, and I wanted to convey that to them, but I was too frustrated to do so. Luckily the berries are, in fact, tasty but I won't be going here again for the lack of politeness.

Yelp
I always had a good time for u-pick berries at Albeke Farm. This year is about 3-4 weeks earlier than 2015, so I almost missed out for strawberries. I did enjoyed the last day of u-pick strawberries, they were very sweet. Today, I picked some raspberries, they tasted really good! I like this farm!

Yelp
Took my girls ages 4 and 6 to pick Blackberries yesterday at Albeke Farms and was extremely pleased with our adventure and bounty. Customer service was top notch. The berries were large and delicious! I took them home, after sharing some with my mom of course, and we made blackberry crumbles in jars with them. We will definitely be adding berry picking at Albeke Farm's to our summer to do list every year! Thanks Albeke Farms for a fantastic blackberry adventure.

Yelp
Yesterday we picked those Shuksan strawberries that Albeke specializes in and they were so super sweet that they didn't need any sugar on our shortcake.

Yelp
I've been going here with my family for awhile and had an okay experience but on our most recent trip we brought our new little 5 month pug with us and the lady was very rude and told us to put her away. There were 2 other people asking us questions about what we wanted to pick so we couldn't put her away right then and she yelled over to us "I need you to put the dog away. NOW." Very rude I was shocked. I was even more shocked that she was making us leave the puppy in the car while it was hot out. At least offer water. There wasn't even a no pets allowed sign so how were we supposed to know? And it wasn't because she was worried about the dog poop, but apparently there are other dogs. Maybe they should take the time to train those dogs. When we got to picking the berries they were very small and sad and less than half were pickable and we weren't able to move to a different area. I suggest picking at a different you pick.

Yelp
I love this place. I've been picking there for 5 years and love the people and the produce.
