Came out in the middle of the ice storm and had a new key cut and programmed for me at half the cost of what would have been the dealership. Great customer service. They were at my home within an hour of calling. Highly recommend.

The cylinder of my ancient Weiser front-door knob lock pulled out; a neighbor highly recommended Albemarle Lock & Safe. They trouble-shot the problem and determined that the old lock couldn't be repaired or re-keyed. While they initially thought I'd have to leave the old key, when I explained that my front door wasn't secure, they keyed a new LSDA knob lock to my many old keys and explained installation of the new lock, I installed the new knob lock pretty much as a one-for-one swap with no problems or issues. I was able to re-use my old striker plate, too. I was in & out of their shop in under an hour. I'm very happy with my 1st visit, will use them again, and will also recommend Albemarle Lock & Safe to others.

💥Buyer beware. You are getting ready to have the BEST locksmith experience of your life! Called about 2pm. and was told it would be ready in about a day or so to drop it off. Dropped off at 2:45, got a call at 3:05 that it was ready to go! WOW🤯 DEFINITELY be back! To top it off, the staff is amazing, professional, and friendly!

I have used Albemarle Lock & Safe to have new key fobs cut and programmed for one of my company's work trucks, and the team there did great. I've recently bought a Corvette which only came with one fob, and since I got great results with the work truck I decided to have the team at Albemarle Lock & Safe set me up with a second key fob. The price was more affordable than a dealer, and the work was great--they have a sophisticated programming tool and the experience to do the work. Also was great to chat with Jessie about his Corvette! Everyone there is pleasant and professional. Very highly recommended!

Needed an automotive key. The price was what was quoted to me over the phone. I was didn't have an appointment but just came in with my vehicle. They were crowded but had a steady flow of walk ins. Time took less than what I was quoted. Happy for the service.

Wonderful family owned business operating in Charlottesville for over 40+ years The owner grew up in the business with his family and still maintains quality of customer service remnants of the 50s . I had a very simple home safe issue that they were able to do within 20 minutes. The charge was so incredibly small that I was shocked. I have used other local services and have not found the level of professionalism that I did an Almaro and safe no further for a truly professional security specialist .

Recommended quality parts to replace cheap handles and exterior locks, corrected previous installation errors. Now the locks are easier to operate and secure. Would definitely hire Albemarle Lock again!

Needed some keys made for a Pella door and it was close to closing time. I called ahead and told them I was on my way and would be cutting it close. They were very nice and not troubled to take a last minute order. They were extremely fast too! The keys worked great - I'm going to go back and get some more keys made!

I came to these folks with two unusual requests; first, I wanted them to make a metal key for my "new" Kia, so I could lock/unlock the vehicle without using the electronic remote fob. I HATE those electronic fobs and had locked and set off the alarm on my new vehicle many times in the week I'd had it, since my keys always live in my pocket. After doing research, I knew this to be a common issue for many people. My solution, make a single key and use it to lock/unlock the car, as well as start it. The Kia dealer charges $83 for just the metal key part. These guys made me exactly the key I wanted for $50, with a nice handle on the end. You know, a regular car key. Then, I wanted to remove the metal start key from the electronic fob, so I could use the electronic fob to shut off the alarm, should it ever go off, thus making it into what's called a "button" these days, I guess. No problemo! They figured out how to do that while leaving my electronic fob in fine condition, and wouldn't even charge me for this. Now I can leave the fob in my vehicle (in a Farraday case) in the event that the alarm goes off, without having to worry about there being a key that will start the vehicle. I am over the moon. I hate smart things, and it's getting harder and harder to find dumb vehicles, TVs, appliances, etc. They helped me stay on the dumb side of life here. These people are fantastic and I will always return to them for any lock issues.

Best customer service I've had in a long time! An elderly friend's remote lock fob was not communicating to the lock mechanism. They asked a couple of questions, ascertained the problem, and sent us a new fob. Fast, friendly, and caring. Recommend them over anyone else in the area.

These gentleman were so amazing!! They came to me, twice and were there before their quoted time just to get me back on the road. They also helped me hook up my battery. They are fantastic and I will be using them again!!

Is there a star rating lower than 1? I called to have a lock re-keyed and it took them LITERALLY 5 visits to figure it out, and they were verbally abusive to the point that I asked the owner if I needed to call the police the man he sent out was so violent. The owner came out to finish the job and HE failed to get it done too, the key would go in but not turn.

Recommended by our real estate agent, Tim and Albemarle Lock & Safe, were great to work. Honest and timely about everything.
