"Each year, at Cornell University, fall heralds the return of a most unusual vending machine outside of Mann Library near the Department of Horticulture. In lieu of the usual assortment of snacks, the popular fixture features nine apple varieties, all grown at Cornell Orchards’ two locations. For the modest price of a dollar, students can snag a crisp, juicy Gala, Shizuka, Honeycrisp, McIntosh, or Ginger Gold. Which apples are on display, though, varies month to month. In late August, the vending machine often showcases luscious Sansa or SweeTango apples, while November ushers in varieties like Goldrush. Graduate students in horticulture are responsible both for picking the fruit and keeping the machine fully stocked. All of the proceeds support the Society for Horticulture (SoHo). The vending machine, which has been a point of pride at the school for more than three decades, is much more than novelty. Cornell Orchards have been the breeding grounds for significant new apple varieties over the years, including Empire, Macoun, Rubyfrost, Snapdragon, and Firecracker, all of which make appearances in the vending machine each autumn. On occasion, unnamed experimental varieties have made a cameo in the machine. Creating and marketing tastier apple varieties is big business these days—a staggering $10.5 million went into the development and promotion of Cosmic Crisp, a Washington State rival to Honeycrisp. Know Before You Go Since you won't find any imported apples here, the vending machine is only available during the fall season." - VirginiaGeorgia, MsMargo, zydeko, Diana Hubbell, jongrantham

The way to this place is absolutely gorgeous, even if it's easy for engineers to get lost here

Best library I have ever been to. Everything is in the small detail, after studying in libraries for a long time I know libraries are not comfortable but Mann Library has got you covered, it is carefully designed to get the best experience when studying. I don't think it gets the credit it deserves as much. I love that this library has everything you can ever need.

A library of the contemporary science, technology, arts and socioeconomics. I'm short of words to express my experience in this great learning center that is equipped with the most modern search facilities, effective internet connectivity etc etc

Mann is by far the best library at Cornell. Take the time to explore the entire thing. Use the first or third floor for quiet studying, or rent out a study room or workstation to work with friends. The Collaborative Center is great for group work as well. Manndibles Cafe is good but a bit inconvenient since they don't take BRBs.

Such a pretty library! There aren't that many people who go to it so there are always spots and charging outlets! But it is so far from arts and engineering quads. It is kind of isolated so sometimes I forget.

Had the worst experience with poster printing service at Mann Library, terrible service, does not care about their customers. Definitely do not recommend.
