Albertina

"This sophisticated modern restaurant features a basement wine bar and boasts 32 wines available by the glass thanks to the Enomatic wine system. Menus show the chef’s passion for hunting and fishing – venison is a speciality and they have their own lobster tank. Eye-catching dishes capture the ingredients’ true flavours." - Michelin Inspector

Why Krakow, Poland is worth visiting right now - SilverKris

"Fine dining with a touch of hipster, Albertina Restaurant & Wine is high-end but unstuffy in an airy, light-filled space of bright whites, exposed brickwork and wooden beams; Chef Grzegorz Fic’s exceptional dishes combine Polish traditions with southern European flavours and use entirely seasonal, locally sourced ingredients." - SilverKris

Wonderful meal and beautiful restaurant. The star of the show was the deer tartare. Absolutely phenomenal and the best (tartare AND deer) I've ever had. No gaminess, just meat that melted in your mouth like butter and perfectly complimented by the artichoke hearts that rested atop it. I could have just had a few of those and had it be my main meal. Everything else was quite delicious as well but I will long be dreaming about that tartare! Service was excellent although there was some confusion over the cocktail menu. Food presentation was beautiful and we were started with a lovely amuse bouche and bread service before our starters.

Fantastic food flavor and casual atmosphere - a true gem! Most Michelin restaurants focus too much on ambiance over taste, but Albertina is an exception. The lobster was superb, and their 30-year-old STARKA whisky impressed even my Scottish friends. No stuffy dress code or drawn-out tasting menus here. Just an excellent, relaxed dining experience with a great drinks selection. An ideal spot for a casual business dinner. All my colleagues and friends thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Albertina. We'll definitely be back for more outstanding food and drinks in this unstuffy yet upscale setting. Highly recommended!

I was very disappointed in our meal and overall experience, especially considering our group of 6 was the only party in the restaurant for 80% of the time we were there. It felt as if the service was disappointed that only 1/2 our party drank wine and that we were not choosing the tasting menu. (I have food allergies and ruined it for the group) There were only a few cocktails offered (one of which was not available at the time) but there was not one I was interested in. I asked for a different cocktail and was told “No, we do not do that here. We are a wine restaurant.” I was then presented with the cocktail menu but the server then walked away with it. We spent well over $1,000 dollars at the restaurant and between the service, food, flexibility and overall experience, it was not worth it. The food was good and the presentation was beautiful but not for the price and experience.

Fantastic find, buried into Krakow's old town, it's a hidden gem for seafood specialties. Very kind and accommodating staff, great bread, reasonable prices, great lobster and wine selection. Service was definitly a highlight, dishes are served all at the same time with a good description. Only let down was the beef tenderloin that tasted a little too gamey. Otherwise thumbs uo

IG: @kamelja I try to stay as honest as possible to keep my integrity in my reviews and I feel its rare I write that i do not recommend a place. As much as I was hoping for this to be a true Michelin guide recommended experience, it was really sub par. It was way overpriced especially considering the service charge at 12.5% — for what we got, it was not nearly worth this surcharge. Starting from the beginning - the service was simply poor. We were shown where we can hang one coats, but no one helped with getting them taken to the coat check section. The servers showed us the table but no one helped us get seated. Food wise — we got two tasting menus (we weren’t allowed to have one person with a tasting menu and another ordering separate dishes). The dishes were decent but nothing was outstanding. The only one I’d highlight is the lamb — but even that one was not as soft as it should be. The cod fish was too dry. The cod was just mediocre. The lobster ravioli’s dough was too hard. The dessert — underwhelming. The pastry tasted old and didn’t even crack as you expected it to. Then the wines that we were oversold on: with the glasses priced as bottles you’re used to. I don’t want to sound cheap, I splurge on food, but the meal’s quality and the price at the end with the barely mediocre service was more than disappointing. I also said I am chocolate intolerant yet at the end we got two portions of chocolate petit-fours. This for me is a huge no no. And speaking about the wine, it also left us a bit surprised. We told our server we’ll be ordering a La carte, not wine pairing, and we didn’t see anyone come to ask us about what we’d like till our starters were about to show up. Also, need to mention the restaurant was almost empty — only 3 tables including ours were taken. We left really underwhelmed, especially since someone else recommended this place to us and we had high expectations. Plus, again, this place is on the Michelin guide. It feels like the quality might have dropped since the judges visited the place. I truly regret leaving so much money here, it didn’t deserve it. I will say though, the lamb dish was the best from the whole menu.

We had the tasting menu with "hidden gems" wine pairing. Food was ingenious and artful, the wines excellent and surprising and the service absolutely charming.

I had dinner at this restaurant. To be honest, I hadn't expected it to be a good restaurant until starting the course. However, dinner in the restaurant was one of my best Kraków memories now. Because all the dishes were very delicious and complicated construction's tastes. Especially, I was attracted to dessert. I'd never eaten such one before; really delicate.

Exceptional. Food exquisite - wonderfully balanced and made more special by the excellent wine pairings. Again, exceptional service by both our waiter and sommelier. Couldn't have had a more wonderful meal ...

Yelp
This restaurant was an absolute stunner of an experience. It was delicious!! My husband, my father, and I stumbled upon this gem when visiting Krawkow. We were not sure what to expect upon coming in, but all dishes were amazing. I would say it had a unique twist on traditional polish flavors but with a modern added flavor profile. All plates were made with the best ingredients, and on top of that... we discovered Polish wines for the first time!! Of course they have other more well known wines as well, there list is quite extensive. But, we thought we'd try the polish wines and the sommelier led us through the pairings perfectly. I have nothing ill to say. It was our first meal in the old town and one I knew I had to write about immediately. The food was exquisite, the staff were so friendly, a definitely must go when visiting. Do not miss this place! Too good!

Yelp
Albertina in Krakow is an exquisite dining destination that leaves patrons enchanted with its culinary artistry. The restaurant's ambiance exudes elegance, and despite arriving without a reservation, we were met with a warm welcome and impeccable service throughout the evening. Our gastronomic journey began with the appetizers, showcasing the chef's mastery. The DEER TENDERLOIN TARTARE with black Truffle, Veal marrow, Egg yolk, and Mustard seeds delighted the senses with its harmonious blend of flavors and textures. Additionally, the DUMPLINGS WITH FOIE GRAS AND PRAWN, accompanied by Mint-tarragon sauce and Sugar snap peas, elevated traditional dishes to an exceptional level, proving the chef's creativity. Moving on to the main courses, we savored the delicate STURGEON FILLET, complemented by Pickled leek, Sorrel, and Watercress, which emphasized the essence of each element on the plate. The highlight of the evening, the SEA BREAM BAKED IN SALT, provided not only a delectable taste but also a mesmerizing presentation as it was carved from salt right in front of us. Cauliflower, Truffle, Mushrooms, and Fennel further accentuated the dish's complexity, creating an extraordinary dining experience. The sommelier's expertise in pairing wine with each course was commendable. Polish and French wines were carefully selected to enhance the flavors, enriching the overall culinary voyage. To culminate the feast, the dessert showcased a perfect harmony of flavors. The PINE MOUSSE with Parsley brûlée and Almonds transported us to a realm of sweet delight. Paired with a delightful Polish ice wine, it was the ideal conclusion to a remarkable meal. In conclusion, Albertina is a culinary gem in Krakow, where the art of fine dining is gracefully presented. From the inspired appetizers to the main courses showcasing premium ingredients, and the expert wine pairing, every aspect of the experience exceeded expectations. Without a doubt, a visit to Albertina promises an unforgettable dining journey that celebrates the finest flavors and culinary craftsmanship.

Yelp
What a lovely experience. The menu has so much to choose from all while making sure every dish is made perfectly. With every dish, there is a listed wine pairing that accentuates each meal. The servers are also very attentive, helpful and suggestive in pointing you towards the perfect choice for you based on your flavor palette. Each dish was better than the last and be sure to not miss out on dessert, that is where the true art is served! Finally be aware that this is a white glove service dining experience so dress the part!
