This museum boasts varieties of amazing collections from the 19th century to the present. Most paintings and sculptures have no protections or fences so it might be difficult to visit here with very small children. I myself really enjoyed the exhibition and would like to come back again!

The Albertinum in Dresden is an absolute must-visit for art lovers! The museum's collection is impressive, showcasing a mix of classic and modern art that offers something for everyone. The layout is well thought out, making it easy to navigate and fully enjoy each piece. The building itself is beautiful, and the location right by the river adds to the experience. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and there's a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to take your time and really soak in the art. Highly recommended if you're in Dresden!

Wonderful gallery right in the center of Dresden. Especially the top floor which contains art from 19th century and onwards. If you find yourself in Dresden then Albertinum is a must see.

Be sure to wear an extra outer garment when entering this museum. They will make you remove your outer layer of clothing. Posted policy says "heavy overgarments" are not allowed, but I was prevented from entering wearing a 150 gram ultralight jacket. The enforcer who demanded I remove my ultrathin jacket said it was due to it being a "rain day" but there is no such written policy and the jacket was 100% dry. Unquestioning and overzealous enforcement of unusual and unwritten rules is dehumanizing, but that's part of the story from the moment you see the giant rules board, of which I've photographed about one half of the English part. So bring extra clothes because they don't care if you're too cold after being forced to remove whatever you came in with.

I saw the great exhibition of Caspar David Friedrich. It is well presented but quite busy. Some paintings were difficult to see due to reflections from the spotlights. The explanatory boards were often hard to read due to the white font on a black background.

Interesting collection of mostly local German art going back to the 18th century, if you have a keen interest in that it's right up your alley, if you are a "normal" tourist you might find this to be quite overpriced for what it has to offer. The building looks great on the outside and had a modern feel on the inside. As most museums in Germany and Austria it's quite frustrating to visit as there are no clear circuits of how to do it and you always get this feeling you missed something. The staff are a bit like hawks watching you but pictures are allowed everywhere, this is a big plus.

From Romanticism to contemporary art this collection of galleries houses some very interesting art. Set aside at least 2 hours to wander through its numerous rooms.

I was skeptical of this museum (and in particular the exhibit on the 2nd floor) after reading the introductory remarks which are full of typical postmodern art museum BS. That said I found the exhibit enjoyably interesting. 2 hrs here is enough for a quick stroll through the 3 floors. Spend more time on the 2nd. I used the Dresden Museum pass here.
