Albion Falls is one of Hamilton’s most beautiful waterfalls, offering breathtaking natural escape within the city. Located at 885 Mountain Brow Boulevard, this 19 meter tiered cascade is a favourite among locals visitors alike, known for its picturesque beauty and historical significance. The waterfall is surrounded by lush greenery and rugged rock formations, creating a serene atmosphere perfect for nature lovers. The viewing platforms provide excellent vantage points to admire the cascading water, especially after heavy rainfall when the flow is at its most dramatic. The area is also home to several hiking trails, allowing visitors to explore the surrounding landscape and enjoy the fresh air. Albion Falls has a rich history, once serving as a water source for early settlers. Its layered rock formations tell a geological story dating back millions of years, adding to its allure. While the falls were once accessible for closer exploration, safety concerns have led to restrictions on climbing down to the base. Despite this, the designated viewpoints still offer spectacular photo opportunities. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat, a scenic hike, or a chance to appreciate Hamilton’s natural beauty, Albion Falls is a must-visit destination. Its combination of history, geology, and stunning visuals makes it one of the city’s most cherished landmarks. Whether it’s exploring hidden gems, sharing insightful stories, or capturing stunning scenery, “Wandering With Nil” YouTube channel is bound to offer something fascinating. If you love discovering new places and perspectives, be sure to head over to YouTube and give it a watch.

The place was truly beautiful, with a mix of fresh greenery and leaves just starting to change color. It wasn’t fully summer yet—more like a soft blend of spring and early autumn. The weather was cool and refreshing, perfect for hiking without getting too tired. The trails were peaceful, with stunning views along the way. There was also parking available, which made it easy to visit. It felt like the perfect spot to enjoy nature in a calm and quiet season.

Falls are nice to look at and trails to walk are easy. Can't really get too close to the falls, so viewing area is pretty much the only site. Steps from the parking lot, so If you're not looking to hike, it's perfect.

Beautiful Hidden Gems – But Hard to Navigate Albion Falls is a stunning cascade, even in July when the water flow is low. You can imagine how spectacular it must be in spring when the snow melts. The trail around the falls is easy and scenic, with two main viewing points—but signage is lacking, so it’s not always clear where to go for the best views or parking. There’s no obvious trail to the bottom of the falls, and access looks tricky. Nearby, we stumbled upon Buttermilk Falls by accident while exiting the trail—what a pleasant surprise! Even with barely any water, the rock formation is amazing. You can also drive and park right near Buttermilk, but again, no clear signs make it easy to miss. Overall, it’s a beautiful area with lots to explore—just be prepared to do a bit of your own navigating. Worth the effort, though!

It was beautiful and honestly a nice walk. It's just i had heard there was a trail down so we could see the falls closer. However, the way the trails are set up makes it so it's not possible to do so. Which was kind of a bummer. Needless to say, it's still very scenic and worthwhile to see it from afar.

Visited today. Gravel along the trail made it safer to walk even with the thin layer of snow and ice. Falls we’re beautiful even though the route to the base of the falls was blocked off. Not sure if this is seasonal or permanent. The upper loop has various overlooks but the brush can block direct views of the falls. Hold on to your phone! I lost mine and was able to find it again thanks to a Good Samaritan who found it and evidently waited for my call from another hiker I ran into who helped. I was going to give it 4 stars for closing the base of the falls, but the generosity of the locals make this a place I’d feel very safe returning to.

Albion Falls offers a more subdued experience compared to other falls, as visitors cannot get up close to the waterfall. Instead, the falls are viewed from a higher vantage point, which limits the ability to fully immerse in the natural beauty of the area. The site itself is less crowded, providing a more peaceful atmosphere, though the area to explore is relatively small. Fortunately, parking is conveniently available by the side, making it accessible for a quick stop. While it may not offer the same intimate experience as other falls, it’s still a pleasant visit if you’re looking for a quieter spot to enjoy the view.

This is a spectacular waterfall located in the Hamilton mountain area by the end of Mohawk Road. Perhaps this fall is not overly exaggerated and marketed since it is located in a quiet area close to some neighborhood. You do not need to pay anything here. This nature is free for you to explore and relax. The sound of the fall is very serene and soothing. If you have a hectic day, you can come here to get some relief. There are also hiking trails. If you have kids and pets, bring them here. They gonna enjoy and love the beauty. I would definitely recommend this natural beauty.

Yelp
I remembered this was the biggest falls I've visited in Hamilton area so I took my friend here. We can't go down to the water anymore, they've blocked it off. Still doesn't deter people from going through a small opening of the fence. There are 2 lookouts from what I can see so we've visited both. It doesn't look as good if not right in front of it. Oh well, things changed so much after so many years have passed. I heard people said that's it? so small, . There are trails beside the falls, very good for hiking.

Yelp
Visited in December 2019. I was not very impressed by the waterfalls. It's a bit small and not that grand from the far distance of the Lookout Platform. You get bored of the scene after 5 minutes. The trail was also disorganized during the winter and not maintained, so I didn't really stay long or walk along the river. If you lived in Hamilton or nearby neighbourhoods, I'm sure this is a great trail to walk around during weekends. For others, I wouldn't suggest coming all the way to Hamilton just to see this. Might as well drive a bit further to Niagara Falls. It seems to me that in the past you can actually go down to the bottom of the falls, but that seems to be blocked off now. It makes sense to do this due to safety issues. But I think they should construct a path so we can see the falls closer or at least touch its water.

Yelp
We walked through Albion falls over the weekend and it was a fun walk. The walk took about 30 minutes to go to the end and back. There are two mini falls and a river running though the trail. You can hear the water running during the walk and it was really peaceful. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Frozen!!! In the middle of nowhere: stand this gorgeous frozen falls!! Ok it's in the middle of it all. But you can easily miss it and never see it. I came mainly for the frozen part of the falls! Frozen parking lot! Frozen everything!! January freeze is real! You can hike down but not at the moment! Worth a freezing -27 degrees visit!! Didn't last long! But worth it!!!

Yelp
Another "free" falls in Hamilton! Tip: Hike down to falls is approx. 40mins, so try to get there early enough so you're not chasing the sun, trying to rush back up. Wear appropriate footwear. Saw soo many people wearing flip flops and slippers and that's not a wise idea. Hike is also not for novices / people with mobility issues / children under the age of 5 / strollers. Especially when you make your way down, you'll hafta trudge through jagged and sometimes loose rocks, uneven surfaces, tree roots, etc. So again, it is important to make your way there + back during the daylight hours. This particular falls is quite a busy place with lotsa people at the foot of the falls. So expect a crowd of people there, especially if it's nice outside. There are 2 adequate sized lots surrounding the road that leads down to the falls. Parking is free if you can find a spot.

Yelp
Very beautiful area! What a gem to have here in Hamilton. I am a tourist and I get tired of spending money every time we turn around. This is a great reprieve to the daily grind of life and of tourism. Things to bring: Book/magazine, camera/phone, worries. There are many benches you can sit and read, enjoy the beauty of the day, and listen to the fall of the water. The camera is for taking breathtaking shots from many of the vistas along the road. As for your worries, bring them too b/c they will be melted away by the sights and sounds of the area. If I had more time I would have loved to take a short hike to the bottom of the falls and sit and just relax from the stress of the day. Next visit! Enjoy!

Yelp
I was really excited to come here after seeing an awesome review with a picture of people chilling on the falls from 17 days ago but we couldn't have the same experience. Two stars because the beautiful falls is closed off with a tiny viewing area that doesn't have a full view of the falls. Don't read this review and think that you could come here and just go pass the gate like I should've to get an awesome view. The entrance is patrolled by two cops that informs everyone that there is zero tolerance for trespassing with a fine maximum of $10,000.

Yelp
Picturesque, Scenic and Delightful !! If you are going to Hamilton to see Webster's Falls, do not miss out on this one. This is close to half hour drive from Webster's Falls, in another part of Hamilton, but totally worth the drive. It's not what you would expect to be in a park or such, parking is across the street and you have to walk down, please make sure to wear proper sports shoes as the route is steep and the rocks can be slippery! Once you get down, the view is magnificent! It's literally like the view you see in calendars but this time it's true. You can walk across as well but again watch your step!! We were lucky that there was a professional photographer out there, he took some of our DSLR pics and emailed to us for free. Because it's such a beautiful scene, it would be common for you to find as well. Do not miss out on this, it's the best Falls in GTA !!!

Yelp
This is an AMAZING waterfall. It's about a 30km drive away from McMaster University, with a parking lot on the other side of the falls. No one checks for parking, nor are there signs, so many people assume it is free. However, if you ask the people from Webster falls, they say that you need to pay for parking at all falls, which is $10. No one pays anyways, so I really don't know if she was giving me the wrong information. Be careful when you cross the road because cars are coming down from the hill on a bend. Coming to the falls, you need to climb down, literally climb because the soil is really slippery and steep. Climbing down is always harder than climbing up too, because you're not sure how slippery it is below, but when you come down, it's a nice open area with many layers of rocks. You can literally walk on the falls here, in between the layers because the water is really gentle and does not splash much. It looks as though you are in the waterfall when you take pictures. It's a lovely place for wedding pictures. I've seen someone come here during the winter as well and had lovely shots, though it might be dangerous to climb down.

Yelp
62 feet of water cascading down a jagged wall of stone in the Niagara escarpment. Fed by Red Hill Creek, the wall of stone gives the waterfall an effect of falling down a wide staircase. The upper half is a continuous fall until it hits somewhat of a shelf where the lower half seems to be a series of smaller falls when flow is low. The lower half widens out significantly from the upper half making it almost as wide as it is tall. It won't blown you mind like Niagara, but it is one of the more impressive offerings in the area. It provides an interesting backdrop for photo's and has a fairly short hiking trail starting with a set of steps on the left side of the upper falls. The trail continuous along a dirt path that leads you to the pool in front of the falls. Be careful, because this trail is steep and slippery in some areas, but it takes less than 5 minutes to reach the base of the falls. There are two available parking areas. One is at an overlook on the far top right side of the falls and the other is directly across Mountain Brow Blvd in front of the stairs. This will give you slightly quicker access if you choose to hike down to the base of the falls. NOTE: Ancaster Mill Falls is just a few minute away! FINAL THOUGHTS If you are truly into finding waterfalls like us, Hamilton Ontario should be on your destination list, especially while visiting Niagara Falls. There are a number of waterfalls located in just this small area alone, one of my favorites being Webster Falls in the Spence Gorge Conservation Area. Many of the falls look similar in their bowl-like shape and ribbon-like falling pattern. The list of falls here includes: 1: Albion Falls** 2: Ancaster Mill Falls** 3: Borer's Falls 4: Buttermilk Falls 5: Chedoke Falls 6: Cliffview Falls 7: Darnley Cascade 8: Denlow Falls 9: Devil's Punchbowl Falls 10: East Iroquoia Falls 11: Felker's Falls 12: Glover's Falls 13: Great Falls 14: Lower Chedoke Falls 15: Lower Princess Falls 16: Progreston Falls 17: Scenic Falls 18: Sherman Falls 19: Tew's Falls** 20: Tiffany Falls 21: Webster's Falls** 22: Westcliffe Falls and many more smaller falls or falls located on private property!!! ** I have reviews & pics for these falls ENJOY!!!

Yelp
Having mixed feelings about this place. This place is awesome and very relaxing when there are no other tourists around! This little place was packed and with tons of people climbing up the falls. There were garbage everywhere from people littering. The parking lot is down the road. The parking was limited during the time I went. Overall a great place to check out in the summer only if there weren't so many people here.

Yelp
On the hunt for a waterfall around the GTA, you are bound to be led to Hamilton. With about 6-7 waterfalls in the area, you can't really go wrong. The appeal of this beautiful waterfall is that the water cascades down the rocks, giving it a serene and gorgeous vibe. There are rocks all over for you to explore the surrounding area, climb up the falls itself and grab some amazing shots! The only downside I would say is that it is so close to a road, which ruins the overall atmosphere. You can hear cars at times driving by, but further in you don't notice it as much. At the same time, there's lots of parking nearby so there isn't a worry that you'll have to walk far to find the falls. Definitely worth a visit as it was a wonderful view of nature at it's finest!

Yelp
Very nice cascading waterfall. Free to get there. Limited parking. I think you can even go swimming but didn't see anyone doing so that late in the evening.

Yelp
This is one of Hamilton's hidden Gems the scenery at the falls is breathe taking. If you like going on hikes or just walking around this would be a good place to go to.

Dan S.

Yelp
So beautiful, you used to be able to take a trail down to the falls .unfortunately now ruined by a bunch of zipperheads . No access !

Yelp
It's a fun waterfall to visit - if you go down the stairs next to the falls and follow the trail down, you can walk right into the falls itself. It's not too difficult a hike, but do be prepared to get a little dirty, and do be careful! There's free parking at the top of the falls, I believe. We actually parked a short distance away at Oak Knolls Park. The small lot there is definitely free. Following the well marked Bruce Trail, we first saw the underwhelming Buttermilk Falls, which you can see right off the main road, then did the easy home through the King's Forest to get to Albion Falls.

Yelp
I love this place and its free. A bit slippery and not recommended for people with walking/gait problem. Best time to visit is 9am to avoid crowd during summer time. There was a wedding photoshoot when we went. You can remove your shoes to climb the top. Parking is nearby. You cant have picnic there. Area too bushy. Saw one family having bbq. Reminder: big sign no BBQ allowed. Nevertheless.. Its worth the visit.

Yelp
The best waterfall in the area. There is something amazing about how the water falls, the ridges the waterfall flows over, and how picturesque the whole scene looks. Many a wedding picture has been taken here among other special event photos. There are little coves along the little hike down into the waterfall where you can get different perspective photos of the Falls. Finishing up the hike, being at the bottom of the waterfall, and looking up is another experience in and of itself. It's one of the bigger waterfalls in the area, and also one of the most majestic. I think the ridges make it particularly beautiful: it's like a veil of water flowing over the rocks, perfectly down over the rocks. Couple minor gripes: there isn't much to do when you reach the bottom. There is one hike down, one hike up. No surrounding hiking area. You park across the street and there is a small park there to walk around. But the Falls itself... you just walk down, take pictures, walk back up. Not too much going on. Still beautiful, and still worth seeing at least once.

Yelp
It was a beautiful walk with amazing views. Right in Hamilton you feel like your out in the woods. Loved it
