Atlanta’s Best Coffee Shops | Eater Atlanta

"Open in Johns Creek since 2019, the exterior of this coffee shop isn’t impressive, but stepping inside, you’re treated to a coffee bar that features a sculpted amethyst rock, a three-dimensional golden nugget on the back wall, and a mural spanning the entire side wall of the coffee shop. Notable items on the menu include specialty lattes (partnered with Cafe Campesino out of Americus, GA), Dutch coffee, and several options on the food menu, including waffles. Alchemist Trading Co. is a hidden gem in the Atlanta suburbs. A second Alchemist location called “Alchemist on the Divide” recently opened in downtown Duluth in February this year." - Eugene Buchko

Lovely coffee spot with well-trained baristas. I had a rare moment of indecisiveness and had the barista surprise be based on what I was feeling, and I was not disappointed! Lovely ambience with mood lighting. Would be a great place to hang out or stay a bit and get some work done.

TL;DR - Hidden coffee shop with an alchemy-themed interior and quick, friendly service. The coffee and food are decent but small for the price. They also sell handcrafted items, which adds a unique touch. Service: The staff is friendly and efficient. Our order of coffee, a chicken wrap, and cheese came out quickly, which was great for a grab-and-go experience—we have no complaints on the service side. Food: The coffee was solid, and the food was tasty, but the portions were pretty small for the price. If you’re looking for a filling meal, this might not be the best spot, but it works for a light bite. Atmosphere: You’d never guess the interior has an alchemy-inspired theme from the outside. It’s a cool and unique design that gives the place some character. The shop has a cozy, tucked-away vibe since it’s hidden on the corner next to a soccer gear store. MISC: One interesting feature is their display of handcrafted items for sale. I’m unsure if these are made by the owner or local artists, but it’s an excellent addition to the coffee shop experience and makes it feel more personal.

I am visiting Georgia from another state. I googled coffee shops and decided to come here based off of reviews. I was surprised how much I liked my drink. I got an Iced Dutch Latte and loved it. Went back the next day and got it again.

Google
I didn't get food but I got a dalgona latte. The sugar cubes took awhile to melt so my options were to wait and drink it cold but sweet or drink it hot and not sweet. I tried to pick a medium and it was good. The Citrus Kiss tea was delicious 😋 The hibiscus was light and floral without tasting like soap. I would definitely get it again. The atmosphere is very chill and peaceful. The ladies running the counter were super nice.

I needed a good morning coffee. I just wanted to give a try this shop. They brewed me fresh house coffee. It tastes smooth. Their space is very cozy. I have seen people enjoying their drink and happy. Staff is helpful. Very inviting coffee shop. They also offer muffin, cheesecake and some other breakfast items. Store is neat and clean. I would definitely come back again. Thank you for great coffee.

Google
This coffee shop is an amazing little hidden gem! The vibes were amazing due to the beautifully decorated interior. It had a super unique feel that I loved. It is very warm and cozy, making it the perfect spot to meet with friends or get work done. I tried the Alchemist Latte, and it was one of the best coffees I have ever had. It was so rich, smooth, and full of flavor. The barista was super nice and got my drink out quickly. I will definitely be returning to try more fabulous drinks!

Google
I was incredibly impressed! I enjoyed the Pumpkin Latte, typically out of my comfort zone with concern of sweetness but Alchemist made it perfectly! Great smooth mouth feel that I look for with a speciality coffee. Also ordered the avocado toast. It described having egg spread but wish it had the option of a scrambled egg added. However I appreciate that they don’t skimp you on avocado. Added a picture for reference, this thing was STACKED! Definitely worth trying. If you’re not into balsamic glaze, I’d recommend asking them to go light on it or remove all together.

What a lovely place with an amazing interior - probably the best interior design out of all coffee shops in the area. Their staff is always friendly, service is welcoming. And their coffee ☕️ is great! I love classic espresso options, but their Alchemist Latte with mix of espresso and cold brew shot and some sweetness in it (condensed milk i believe) was quite nice! what is really awesome and is my favorite thing on the menu is their avocado 🥑 toast with balsamic vinegar and some nuts 🌰 on top. I also tried the eggs sandwich 🥪 and chicken pesto, and those were nice. Will be coming back!

Yelp
I used to absolutely love this place. When it first opened, the coffee was divine. Over the past few years, however, something has definitely shifted. The overall posh texture and flavor is gone. The richness is a shadow of its former self. The portion sizes have decreased, too. If you want an experience that's several clicks above Starbucks, Alchemist is still worth a try. My argument is that this place used to be many, many, many clicks above Starbucks. It was in its own category of coffee. But now it's "good coffee," and that's about it, unfortunately.

Yelp
Every time I go to the alchemist, the staff is always very friendly and helpful! Their seasonal menu has some really unique and delicious drinks, but sometimes they are out of ingredients. The inside has some seating but not too much and you'll always find people working or studying because of the calm environment. My go to is their Matcha, which I love because it doesn't taste as sugary as what you would find at a chain coffee store.
google avatar

Yelp
I was in the mood for craft coffee, beverages. Something fancy that I can't make at home and I found this place. I was thoroughly impressed with the menu selection for both food and beverages (caffeinated or not). Really cool interior decor, and theme to the shop that you would not notice looking on the outside. The seating is limited, but if you can manage to snag one, the vibes are immaculate. I like how intimate it feels while still allowing space between guests. I ordered a golden latte w/ espresso, cheese and bacon toast, and a choko croffle. All were perfect. I then proceeded to spend another hour or two just sitting and working. The staff was really nice and continued to check in with me to see if I needed anything

Yelp
This place caught our eye when we have walked by it several times. Our order and our time here was simple. I would have to say though the one thing that did stand out when we ordered our fancy coffee and crunch wrap was that they don't call the person's name out. Instead it sort of is just left on the counter and you have to go up and get it. I get it that if it's busy it can get pretty busy behind especially if the staff is just 2 people. The crunch wrap was pretty good, I found myself ordering 3. Overall, Alchemist is nice spot. It's limited seating if it gets busy though, best time to get there is earlier in the morning on the weekends. It'll get super busy around 10ish or so.

Yelp
I didn't know what Dutch coffee was before but I'm a huge fan now! I stopped by this local cafe to get some work done before some errands! I would have loved to stay long because had some deadlines to complete. For the time that I was there, I was treated so lovely. The vibe inside the store was so cool, with gemstones and fun artistic walls. Outside had some seating which I sat in to enjoy the beautiful day. I'll definitely have to make a stop back here to fill up my new punch card!
google avatar

Kathy Y.

Yelp
This is such a cute coffee shop! The alchemy and stars theme inside was so fun, and it had a comfortable environment for studying or doing work. They also give you a little punchcard if you are here for the first time, so if you get enough punches, you get a free drink. I got a matcha latte, and it was pretty good, but a little too sweet for my taste. I think the rest of the menu looks pretty good too, so I would like to come back to try some more things.

Yelp
I was looking for an iced matcha and instead found a Hojicha! Had never heard of it so of course I did a little research and had to go try it. It was so good, notes of chocolatey goodness and hit other tastebuds in terms of flavor notes of the roasted green tea and almond milk. I also ordered the limeade which had potential but just did not have the lime kick.. will definitely encourage anyone ordering to ask for more lime! The baristas answered any questions I had regarding the hojicha and made my order swiftly! Upon walking in, I was in awe of the decor inside. Crystals and artifacts and I simply loved!

Yelp
Not enough seating, we drove all the way from Marietta and had to leave because there was not one table available. Other customers who were seated seemed like they were hunkered down for the day as they were studying. Because nobody gave the impression that they were even close to getting up..We just left. I got to go herbal tea, but it was nothing special. We also went to alchemist on the divide and found out that they weren't even open.

Yelp
I've been here at least a handful of times now. Service is always decent to good. There are usually people sitting and working or talking/hanging out. Coffee comes out in a reasonable amount of time-- usually about 5-15 minutes (15 minutes was bc I ordered 5 different drinks and it was fairly busy). They've never gotten my order wrong yet and answer questions with a friendly attitude, should you have any. A better alternative to the other chain coffee shop in the same plaza, if you're looking for a tastier option. Regular house coffee is $3.75 and other beverages range from about $4.75 to $6.25. Decaf espresso is available. Music is t usually toooo loud. They have WiFi and plugs available. A consistently solid experience and worth trying if you're in the area and looking for decent coffee.

Yelp
The place is attractive, and the coffee was fine, but it's promoted as a place to study and work, yet I was unable to get online through their Wi-Fi. Apparently they're aware of this issue but have not invested in insuring their Wi-Fi set up where everyone can access it. Too expensive maybe? Had I known their Wi-Fi was not able to accommodate all the people working in their restaurant, I wouldn't have come here. I'm a little upset that I only found that I couldn't get online after I spent my money. To Be clear, the staff was friendly and kind, and the ambience is lovely. I'm giving them one star because I think it's a big deal that they're promoting this a place to work and study without ensuring that people can do that . I feel like they should invest in the extra cost ( or whatever they need to do) to ensure that everyone can access Wi-Fi. And if they're not gonna do that, they should tell people that before they spend their money. They should say 'hey you're probably not gonna be able to get on the Wi-Fi here,' and then people can make an informed decision whether or not to spend their money.

Yelp
Overall: really good coffee and interesting speciality coffees. Highly recommended. I am a regular coffee person. As long at the coffee is hot, that is all I care about. No sugar, no cream, just black. That being said, they serve very fresh coffee. Takes even a few minutes for a house coffee to be served, unlike other more commercial establishments where the coffee could have been sitting for minutes to hours on end. Coffee itself is very flavorful and very pleasant to drink, has great hints of...I am no coffee connoisseur so that is the best description I can give. I have indirectly tired a few of the speciality coffees. My significant others favorite is the Dalgona. It is a little on the sweet side of for me, but tastes good and has, I think, candied honeycomb on top, which are delicious. The interior is very unique. Really like the design, the look, and the items they have on display inside. There is a decent amount of seating. They have a "community table" that seats four. Would have liked to see a larger community table, but they also have a small bar top area that seats 3. There are a few individual and group tables throughout the place as well. I would say the space can seat about 30 people pretty comfortably. Really great place to grab a coffee, sit and chat, or sit and study.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
Dare I say hidden gem? Name is a bit deceptive but when you walk it's clear why. Very cozy space to sit chat and enjoy some great coffee. Ambiance is perfect for a third place. I usually get the alchemist latte. If you're going to put your name on something it better be good. And it is. Very well done coffee - well done not overly sweet but the cane sugar is evident. Kinda like a vanilla latte but no vanilla if that makes any sense. The lavender latte is also brilliant here. Home made lavender sauce (do you call it sauce?). Anyway it's good. Service is always good here - quick and attentive. You can tell tell care about the coffee they are making. At least every time I've come here. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This coffee shop is so beautiful! I loved the decorations and all the small touches. Their coffee is AMAZING!!! I got the Dalgona Latte, the first sip feeling was there. It was so delicious and full of sweetness. I love the cookie crumble. The service was quick and friendly. The cashier answered all my questions and was helpful. I'm looking forward to the next time I'll be back!

Yelp
I've been here a few times & the beverages never disappoint my coffee-snob standards. You can't go wrong with the Dutch Coffee ~ I would ask them about it. It's their specialty. Things you should know: I. PARKING Alchemist Trading Co is within a plaza and shares a massive, free parking lot with the adjacent businesses. There's always available parking. II. SERVICE Sweet and informative. They provide milk alternatives and syrup options to customize your beverage. I do wish, however, they had sugar free options. III. QUALITY Excellent. I like how dense and acidic their brews are here. Highly recommend the Dutch Shakerato..! IV. CAPACITY Fair amount of seating during weekdays but it is busy over the weekend. I can imagine this is a good place to carry conversation with friends or get some work done since the noise level is low.
google avatar

Yelp
We loved the study atmosphere at Alchemist Trading Co! Friendly service and fantastic lattes! Recommend the Dalgona Latte hot. The perfect amount of sweetness for fall!

Yelp
Alchemist is such a beautiful little coffee shop. The interior is sooo beautifully decorated. I think the first time I walked in here I gasped and immediately ran outside to tell my friend to hurry up and come inside. I have both worked from here and journaled / had personal time from here. If you are looking for a quieter location than Starbucks (mmm blending of Frappuccino), this is the spot. In addition to it being so beautiful and good to work in, their drinks and snacks are tasty! My favorite is the earl grey latte, but they have a wide variety of other yummy drinks as well.
google avatar

Maricris H.

Yelp
SUMMARY: -- WORK/STUDY ENVIRONMENT: 5/5 -- PARKING: 5/5 -- DRINKS: 5/5 (tried the earl grey einspanner, hojicha D. latte) -- FOOD: 4/5 (tried the double egg & bacon sandwich, pesto chicken crunch wrap) Been checking out different cafes around the area and this has been one of my favorites so far! I loved the aesthetic and the servers were very helpful. The lighting is on the dimmer side, but it's still bright enough to work there. There's plenty of outlets and the wi-fi is stable. Parking is also not an issue as it is located in a large plaza with plenty of parking spots. I came with my friend and we got the earl grey einspanner, Hojicha B. latte, double egg and bacon sandwich, and the pesto chicken crunch wrap. The einspanner is a base of their Dutch coffee topped with flavored cream (original, vanilla, earl grey, matcha, or butterscotch). It was lightly sweet, very creamy and the portion was larger than I expected. The coffee was strong enough to keep me caffeinated through my work session. Unlike the coffee, the food is on the smaller side. However, it is priced fairly for its size and both tasted pretty good. I'd love to come back and try more of their drink menu. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice environment to study in!
google avatar

Victor H.

Yelp
Staff was friendly and asked the right questions when I ordered (sweetness level, milk preference). I went in on a rainy morning and only a couple of professionals in the shop doing some work. Unfortunately I did not have time to sit and get a feel for the ambience when working from this shop but would try it if I go back! They have a variety of pastries and drinks so can definitely find something you'd enjoy on their menu.
google avatar

Yvonne A.

Yelp
The drinks are delicious. My goto is the Hojicha Latte (+oat milk). My friend got Strawberry Lime Tea and that was very refreshing. I would get that next time. My friend was disappointed with how small the croffle was compared to other cafés (especially for the price). **PLEASE get some seat cushions. I met someone with bad back (had surgery). So it would nice to know they are comfortable when meeting up.

Yelp
The inside of this place is so cute it would be a shame if I didn't comment on it. Crystals and coffee are all you need to make so many girls like me happy. This would be the first place I take my friend to when she comes to visit, because as is, we are both coffee fans, but there is just something special about a hidden GEM like this, literally. The inside of this location feels like walking into a giant geode, and you step out filled with caffeine. I feel like it is pretty rare to find a coffee shop in a shopping center like this that actually serves good quality coffee and teas, but this place knocks it out of the park. Because this is in a shopping center, there is plenty of parking in a large parking lot, and your coffee shop hours are going to be pretty helpful if you need to get in and out in comparison to the other stores in the area. There was tables outside when I went, but it was also quite hot out so most people were sitting inside at their variety of tables, including a bench that goes the entire length of the long wall in the cafe, as well as smaller two top table seating on the other side. It was full with people both on laptops and meeting friends, but was a quiet shop so you could visit and make conversation or work at your leisure. I didn't try any of their seasonal drinks, but I did get my normal, a cortado, as well as tried a matcha affogato. The cortado I had no notes on, but the matcha affogato was something unique, with matcha ice cream and a shot of matcha tea poured right on top of it, a perfect treat for a green tea lover. I do plan on going back, even it is slightly out of the way, it is worth it.
google avatar

Ishamar R.

Yelp
This is such a cute cafe with nice decorations. The only downside that it is small so if it's busy, you probably won't be able to sit anywhere. I got the Dalgona iced latte with oat milk and it was very delicious. I loved that they had oat milk option as well. It's a great spot to get some work done or chill with friends! Enjoy ;) Instagram:Travelfoodie_ishy

Yelp
Love the ambiance and decor. The matcha latte was delicious. I look forward to going back.

Yelp
I stopped in on a Sunday morning for a latte and upon walking in it was very loud and seemed like a very popular hangout spot for young people studying and socializing. The ambience was dark, moody, and loud. I noticed they still had Christmas decorations like nutcrackers and Seasonal trees and it was the middle of February, which was interesting. They had a display shelf selling handmade soaps, coffee cups, etc. It was a cluttered space combined with a dark ambiance and stuffy air (literally). Not where I would choose to sit down and enjoy a coffee, personally. They had a small pastry display with a few selections from 5-6 dollars a piece and an extensive drink menu mainly featuring Dutch coffee, which is supposedly stronger than espresso. The Alchemist Trading Co. specializes in Dutch coffee, specifically. I ordered the lavender latte for $5. The service was very friendly but very slow considering that there were four baristas. Once I finally received my drink, it was in a decent sized cup and was creamy, frothy, and hot. However, the lavender flavor was weak and it tasted kind of bland. It's a cool concept but the ambiance and recipes need improvement.

Yelp
Amazing coffee, stellar service, and the location is beautifully designed...did I mention the soft jazz playing in the background? The total package!!!
google avatar

Cassie H.

Yelp
I came in a little past noon on a Tuesday, so it was a bit busy!! The staff were incredibly nice, and the place was well managed. I tried a recommended drink from one of the workers, the iced earl gray lavender latte, and it was pretty good if you want to try a more exotic drink! It was a great mix of floral lavender (not soapy/candle-like) and strong coffee, which was very tasty for a non-coffee drinker. The drink was made very fast as well. In terms of a studying spot, I really enjoyed the dark atmosphere in here. The bench sitting area was great, and there were outlets throughout. The entire area was filled with people, so getting a spot might be a short wait. However, I would definitely come again and try their croffles or affogatos. I also loved the alchemist magic theme throughout, and it was very cozy and cute.

Yelp
I like Alchemist. Service has been good. Many options to try from. Do not get the avocado toast.
google avatar

Adam T.

Yelp
Coffee's good (they had Dutch coffee which apparently has double the caffeine of a regular espresso shot), and I like the layout/look of the place.
google avatar

Yesenia B.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop, patrons tend to held tables for people who are not even present or just hanging out. Makes it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere. Overall the staff is friendly, drinks are good and parking is very easy and ample. I still prefer to drive a little further snd visit the other coffee/bakeries on McGinnis Ferry Road.

Shakira S.

Yelp
Drunk and food was good. Worked there for the evening and was quiet and atmosphere was great.

Yelp
I like to go here for their Matcha. Their drinks are pretty solid. I have yet to try a pastry

Yelp
I've been here a couple times, and I'm a total fan. Not many coffee shops have both good coffee and matcha, and this place is the unicorn that has it all. They also have Dutch coffee, which is supposedly stronger than regular coffee. I don't know what they do to it or what makes it Dutch, but that plus a good splash of oat milk and I'm happy for the rest of the day. It's so smooth and the flavor is exactly what I want in coffee. I can't stop talking about it to my partner and best friend, so they're both probably sick of me talking about coffee at this point. Guess I'll just have to take them here to visit and see what all my ranting and raving is about :)

Marian O.

Yelp
love the matcha and the food, the ambiance is so calm and the staff really cordial. is always kinda busy but u will always get a spot.
google avatar

Tina D.

Yelp
I've gotten coffee a few times here the last couple of month and I can say everything is very consistent. Coffee isn't burnt or sour; perfectly brewed. A lot of interesting flavor like sweet potato (golden latte), hojicha latte (roasted tea taste), dalgona latte w/ honeycomb toffee. I've ordered something different every time I go; so far I've gotten the dalgona latte, hojicha d latte, golden latte, Dutch coffee, and shakerato. Great little spot for dates or to do some work/study. One of my new favorite coffee spots!
google avatar

Matt H.

Yelp
The ambiance here is great. Very hip but calming. Awesome decor which adds to the vibe. Had a blueberry muffin and Caramelizm drink today and thoroughly enjoyed both. Get the muffin warmed up for sure! Favorite spot to sit is the table in the front window on a sunshiny day.

Yelp
Great drinks and friendly atmosphere! Great place to relax with friends or work on stuff to get out of the house. Wifi available. Really cool interior.

Yelp
Decided to try out this place since we were nearby. It's in a big plaza that is easy to find and has lots of parking. Honestly went for the Instagram worthy presentation, ambiance, and to try out something unique. The overall experience was ok because there weren't enough seating and I think since Covid, they only use take out cups. The server was so so nice. I did liked that they listed out the ingredients in each drinks on the menu. Very helpful. The Avocado Toast was ok, nothing special. It looks like a few ingredients were missing (eggs and strawberry jam?) compared to reviews from a few years ago. The Red Velvet Muffin was my favorite. It has cream cheese in the middle and chunks of chocolate chips. The server heated it up for us, which was very nice. The Matcha D Latte was something new for my pallette. It has a powdery, slightly floral, and a hint of nutty after-taste. I'm not sure what to think of it, but it was definitely interesting. The Alchemist Latte was great. Perfectly sweetened. The Shakerato didn't come with milk and sugar, so the server asked if I want to add both, which I said yes. Looks like only milk was added, but it was still nice. I went to try something new, and the ordered items delivered in that aspect. Overall, I would come back to try out more basic options on a less busy weekday.

kierra h.

Yelp
I got the vanilla latte and a double bacon egg sandwich. The food was pretty good, but what really made the experience was the cool decorations inside and the ability to study/use the shop to get work done with the ambiance. I would try this place again!

Yelp
Anywhere I go in town I always look for coffee and today while in John's Creek is no different so I decided to try Alchemist Trading. Located off of Medlock Bridge Rd in a busy shopping plaza next to Regal Movie theater there is plenty of parking. There is a sign on the front door stating mask required and when you walk in everyone is socially distanced, wearing masks at their table and there is also plexiglass separating tables next to each other. The decor is modern and it's very clean and cozy inside. Since this was my 1st time there I studied the menu for a moment before I placed my order. I decided on the creme brûlée latte which had French custard, caramelized sugar, vanilla with almond milk. For whatever reason they made an iced coffee at no time did I ask for one and it didn't specify on the menu that the coffee was iced. I was then told they didn't make it hot and they couldn't get the consistency right with the almond milk. I looked on the menu again and this time I ordered the alchemist latte which is "secret" coffee with almond milk. The Barista wasn't able to tell me what kind of coffee it was. It was just ok nothing spectacular just average and definitely not worth the $7.27 price tag.

Yelp
Stop what you are doing and go here. Don't walk, run! Run run run right up to the counter. I am in loveeeee with Alchemist Trading Co. Last time I visited I got two drinks because I couldn't decide and was craving both. The Blackberry Dutch is the greatest beverage on this earth bar none. Do it. I dream of this "coffee tea" as we like to call it. I actually want one right now but they are closed at the moment. Just do it, please. I also really love the Lavender Latte. So floral and tasty. I got it with oat milk and it was delicious. Mhmmmmmm. The atmosphere is also lovely and everyone we have ever encountered is SO sweet. I actually feel I have to go tomorrow and get another fix. This place is 20 minutes from our house and I don't even care. Give them a visit. You will not regret it I promise!

Yelp
I would like to preface that I am in no way shape or form a coffee snob. Hell, when I did drink coffee, I would find the cheapest, most potent stuff to keep me tweaking out of my gourds. I came here to meet up a friend and their family, and I was glad I did. Nestled in the once absolutely booming shopping center where the now defunct Regal (and seems like so many other places) is housed, Alchemist is a hidden gem, for coffee drinkers and study buddies alike. I really like the interior here, dark, modern, sexy, and with a vageode wall in the counter. Speaking of the store, they support social distancing and mask wearing as well, complete with a screen to separate the patrons and employees. The menu, looks like it has changed (at least in terms of the food offered). When you walk in, it appears to be a water bottle fridge in front of you, but they are actually empties of what I assume you put different types of cold brew in. I decided to get a chicken pesto sandwich, and a strawberry snow drink. They said they would bring it out to me- as we decided to eat outside. The drink came out first, and they told me the sandwich would just be a few min. The drink, it was fluffy, not to sweet, but overall, I liked it a lot- not something you get to savor everyday! It even had whole fruit in it, so I can say it was healthy! A few minutes later, the cashier came out to tell me that the panini press wasn't working, so I couldn't get the sandwich, I told him I wouldn't mind it cold but he insisted, so they refunded me the whole ticket. I felt bad since I didn't have cash to tip (since I did it on the card), but he insisted and was very apologetic. Needless to say, the customer service here is friendly. I will definitely have to come back. If you want a different coffee shop to check out, I would tell you check it out for sure. They have food menu, but it looks like it changes often- but everything I have seen that they make looks oh so yum!

Yelp
I've been here once before and the carmelize drink I tried was just ok, nothing to write about. Most recently I came with a friend and I decided to try one of their matcha drinks. I ordered the hojicha latte and asked if I could get it less sweet. The cashier told me that the hojicha is presweetened, but she can do half hojicha and half unsweetened matcha. I was ok with that. When they handed me the drink the assured me thst if I didn't like they will switch it out for something else. It was so good. The matcha flavor was strong but not overwhelming, and the customer service was great! No pix, I finished my drink so fast. Will definitely be back for it again!

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times and they somehow get better and better. Their coffee is flavorful and every variation tastes great. They have fun drinks like the dalgona latte and even affogatos. They are a bit on the pricier side, but it's worth it. This place also has some items for sale from local vendors. The entire ambiance of the place is beautiful and a great place to study. There's some outside seating as well and overall the place is very clean. If you're in the area I definitely recommend checking it out!

Yelp
I'm a huge matcha fan and coffee fan, and I thought this was amazing!!! The atmosphere in the cafe was great and the decor was so aesthetically pleasing. The dutch coffee was smooth and had an almost fruity note and the matcha cream was delicious! The barista gave us the extra matcha cream she made. Staff was super friendly, and drinks were made quickly!!!

Yelp
This quirky coffee shop is nestled in between the soccer store and poke restaurant. We stopped by on a Friday morning around 11:30 and found several small groups of 2-3 meeting to chat with friends and a couple of people who were working at the cafe. We ordered the iced Alchemist Latte (with soy milk) for $7.13. It was a smooth and well-sweetened coffee. Aside from the coffee, I think the most interesting thing about this coffee shop was the geology-inspired decor. There were gold swirls and crystals pasted on as features on the walls and counter. The atmosphere also felt somewhat mystical in nature with a galaxy/space mural painted on the accent wall. The icicles near the counter felt a bit tacky, but everything else was... well quirky. It's a neat place to visit for an afternoon coffee.

Yelp

Yelp
Well, I guess I have to give my favorite coffee shop a bad review. That sucks, but if I'm treated like crap... First, the goods. Alchemist Trading Co has an incredible indoor space. It's the perfect combination of relaxing and inspiring as you hammer away at the next great American novel. Alchemist prides itself on Dutch Coffee, and I've really enjoyed everything I ordered. My go to drink is the Einspanner, made with Dutch Coffee, heavy cream, and cocoa powder. Why the low rating? Well, service is usually a mixed bag. I've seen some pretty great people, but mostly awful people. During my most recent visit last fall, the idiot barista refused to accept my punch card. "Capture 10 stars & get a free drink." To Captain Genius, this meant, get 10 stars and then get an 11th star and then you get a free drink. This barista needed to make it a thing. They refused to listen to the fact that it doesn't logically follow for the requirement to be 11 stars if it's worded like that. They refused to listen to the fact all the other freaking cards in their stack had 10 stars punched. The more experienced person who later told me that I was correct still didn't refund my purchase or make things right in the slightest. I went from going to Alchemist 3-4 times a week to going 0 times a week. One really crappy employee can seriously make a regular never want to come back again.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and lovely ambiance. Their specialty Dutch coffee is so good and not as acidic as most coffee.
