Awesome option for a brunch or lunch spot if you are downtown Cincinnati! Conveniently located right in the middle of OTR. I’ve been here a couple times, but I’m still impressed every single time I walk in. The plants in the space are just beautiful and it always smells amazing. We started off with coffee and a hummus plate. The veggies were super fresh and crunchy. We love that they toasted the pita. For our meals, we ordered the potato hash and their seasonal quiche. Both were delicious and fresh! I would definitely come back and try their bakery board, a lot of people ordering their cinnamon rolls and they looked incredible.

I had been to the alcove in the very beginning for brunch but had not been for dinner. We celebrated my 10 year business anniversary there for dinner on a weekday and it was the perfect spot for something like that. Some of these details are not going to matter for the general public but will for people who photograph everything /influencers, etc. They were so understanding about me adding people to the reservation up to the last minute, they were more than ok with us photographing during our whole dinner, and set us up in a cute corner room. We asked for the music to be turned down so we could yap easier, once again totally taken care of. I needed cake cutting accessories, totally accommodating for us. The butter board was amazing and the meals everyone chose were great, zero complaints. As a non-drinker, the mocktails were all tasty, different flavors without being too overly sweet. The sweetest thing of all was that they generously gifted me my meal for my celebration which was completely unexpected and did not go unnoticed. Super chill but luxury feeling environment for a weekday celebration. Highly recommend.

This is a great brunch location! We ate in the sunroom which has great atmosphere for a morning event. It be is bright and cheerful. The perfect spot to enjoy brunch. We tried the mimosa flight with 4 different options, I have to say to is a fun way to get some vitamin c in your day. We shared the French toast, which was a little heavy with the cream cheese topping, but totally comes off like a cinnamon roll. I would consider the next time having the cream cheese in the side. It is clever with the cereal topping on it too, and the fruit lightened it up. The pot roast in the potatoes was delicious, the surprise is how well the pickled onions and roasted peppers added brightness to the dish.

Great food, clean modern atmosphere, and awesome service! My wife and I split the Steak Frites with a side of gnocchi. Highly recommend! A limited, but good selection for kids as well. Definitely will be back!

We had a wonderful experience at Alcove by Madtree. They were right on time with everything, which we really appreciated since we were on a tight schedule. The interior design is beautiful, and the patio area adds a charming touch — perfect for both casual and semi-formal settings. The food was amazing, flavorful, and served promptly. Our server was incredibly polite and helpful, making the experience even smoother. Whether you’re taking a guest, planning a relaxed business lunch, or just want a great dining experience, Alcove is reliable, professional, and aesthetically pleasing. Would absolutely return — highly recommended!

Great atmosphere and service. There is a large selection of seating indoors and out. Nicely designed. I went here to try the watermelon mint sway as I'm GF. I had it with a glass of ice and it was lovely, especially on as hot a day as it was. Highly recommend this place. The atmosphere was perfect. Was here with my sister, but would be a nice place for a date. I will definitely be back next time visiting the area.

Our sons was in from Chicago and hadn’t been to Alcove before. He absolutely loved the atmosphere and the loaded potato hash that our server Jordan recommended! My husband and I got the avocado toast, again!!!! It’s our favorite. The experience, food and service was exceptional! Thanks Jordan!

I’ve had such a wonderful experience three different times for dinner. Absolutely AMAZING food , the salmon on black rice and a curry sauce a10! The chicken sandwich a 10+, the beet and goat cheese salad is divine and the charcuterie board always perfect. Colin was our server today and he detailed all ingredients in everything before it came out as I have allergies. Highly recommend!!

Finally made it to Alcove! I've been to the Oakley and Blue Ash locations several times, but this was my first time here--and wow, it did not disappoint. The space is gorgeous with such a fun, elevated vibe, perfect for brunch with the girls. The service was absolutely amazing. Our waitress let us know right away that if we didn't like something, they'd happily take it back and fix or swap it. We only needed to switch up one thing, and they were so cool about it--and when it came back, it was even better. That kind of hospitality really stood out and made the whole experience feel seamless. The drinks were a hit--we tried the Old Fashioned, the Honey Bourbon, and the Rosé with Gin. Each one was well-balanced and delicious. The food was just as impressive. My chicken and waffles were top-tier, and the hashbrowns easily stole the show (seriously, don't skip them!). My friend ordered another dish that looked amazing, but we both had our eyes on the Smashburger--definitely saving that for my next visit. Overall, beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, great drinks, and standout food. I'll be back soon!

This space is absolutely gorgeous and one of the reasons we came here TWICE in one day. We were staying downtown for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary, enjoy our city, and Burger Week. We were disappointed to find that the Burger Week offerings aren't available during brunch, even though it was well after noon. We ordered the burgers from the menu and enjoyed them along with the hash browns. I had a refreshing mocktail as well. I was completely full and had to pass on dessert, sadly. Later that night we were in the area for dinner. The restaurant we were at didn't have any interesting dessert options. That's when we remembered the dessert menu here and found ourselves a seat in the beautiful greenhouse bar. We enjoyed late night espresso martinis and a gluten free s'mores dessert. Both times our food and service were great and the beautiful space makes it that much more enjoyable.

Here's the deal. Really good spot that's been here for 3 years. There's a beautiful bar area with a wall of plants (every plant is real in this place, which is crazy). Great indoor /outdoor seating there's a separate outdoor bar area as well well. The service was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu! The chicken sandwich with a crunchy honey crispy crust & lemon aioli was outstanding! Artichoke dip app was yummy too. How did I miss this place!!!

Alcove was such a vibe, and I loved the aesthetic. I really appreciate all the live plants, and the bar area is very cool being a greenhouse. We came in to celebrate a birthday, and had made reservations online for our larger group. They sat us in a private room which was perfect! I ordered the quiche which was served with potatoes and a salad. The quiche was good but came out a bit cold. Next the potatoes, these were absolutely delicious and I have never tasted potatoes seasoned and prepared like this, so good! The salad was also very good, and I liked the dressing. The service was great, our waitress was attentive and checked in to refill our coffees and water. Parking was also super easy, as there is a paid lot directly beside the restaurant which was great.

We visited Alcove for Valentine's Day which was a really great experience. We didn't have to book a reservation extremely ahead of time and the specialty cocktails were amazing! We got the hummus spread as an appetizer which was great for 2, but not enough for 4 people. The service was on top of our water and drinks and was extremely helpful in recommendations. The tables were spaced apart enough to not be on top of one another. They have an outside portion which would be nice in the spring and summer. I ended up getting the tofu sandwich which was amazing! All of us were full by the time we left with lots of laughs and a great time.

We had a wonderful time at "Alcove" last night. The ambience is very modern, chique and welcoming. For our appetizer we ordered the charcuterie board and the cheeses were AMAZING! My husband is not a fan of charcuterie but said that this was the first board he ever truly enjoyed. For our main dishes we ordered the lamb leg and the fried chicken sandwich respectively. Both were absolutely scrumptious. The star however were the crispy potatoes! I highly recommend adding those to your order! It was delicious. The service was great as well. I am sure we will be returning during future visits to Cincinnati.

We stopped here for drinks after our guided tour of the area. They have a nice beer selections and we shared the spinach dip appetizer which was super yummy! Our tour guide explained the historical significance of the building, but you wouldn't know about it from the inside. It would be so cool if they added a little touch of history, but still all in all a great place. We sat in the greenhouse/garden bar which was air conditioned and had super comfy lounge seating!

We recently dined at the Alcoce By Madtree before seeing the Cincinnati Pops at Music Hall. For a starter, my husband and I shared the Wedge Salad, which was wonderful! All of the ingredients were crisp and fresh. For my entree, I ordered the Cod Sandwich with French fries. It was sooo good. Truly one of the best cod sandwiches I've ever had! And of course we ordered dessert: chocolate cake. The cake was moist and delicious. We also sampled the cheesecake that my sister ordered and that was delicious too! I highly recommend both! The service was quick and extremely friendly. In fact, our server was a lot of fun! I highly recommend you stop in for a bite the next time you're visiting downtown Cincinnati. Depending on the night, though, you might need a reservation. Bon Appétit!

I finally made it Alcove for lunch. The ambiance is simply beautiful and has a cute room in the back for a small private party as well as a "green room" bar that is enclosed during the winter which adds a nice vibe. Regarding food, I tried the fried chicken sandwich and my coworker tried the cod which she really enjoyed. The chicken sandwich was decent however, something was missing. I tried a piece of the chicken that didn't have sauce on it and it didn't taste like it was seasoned so maybe that was the miss. The fries and the sauce were good and tasted like a mayo/ ketchup concoction which I love. This was a great pick for a quick lunch and the staff were wonderful. I will definitely try them again and try something different on the menu.

Super cute restaurant with delicious food! The service was meh, there were only a couple waiters for a lot of tables on a busy sunday brunch. Great drink options as well!

Have been wanting to check out Alcove for a long time after seeing their beautiful patio space and got to go for a Sunday brunch - it's now become one of my favorite brunch spots in Cincinnati! Not only does the interior have a cute aesthetic, but the food is delicious. We also had two of the nonalcoholic seasonal drinks and they were so good (berry lemonade and a citrus fruit drink I can't recall the name). Highly recommend the potato hash and French toast, the biscuits and gravy probably fell the most flat for our table but still not bad. The veggie quiche was unique and had unexpectedly great flavor and the hash brown patties that came with it were amazingly crisp. We ordered these dishes family style so that we could have a taste of everything and that was for sure the way to go. Our server was also very friendly and attentive! Definitely want to come back and check out their dinner service.

Love the food here. Many of the walls in are covered in plants. I enjoy being here. Everything was great. Love the burgers.

My wife and I were walking around downtown, looking for a nice spot for dinner. We enjoy MadTree, so when we saw this was by the same people, we decided to stop in. We didn't have a reservation, but the host said if we waited about ten minutes they could give us a spot on the patio. It was a bit warm out, but we agreed. After about ten minutes he said they actually had a cancellation inside, so we were able to snag an air conditioned spot. The mains looked really tasty--the salmon and lamb leg caught my eye--but were a little pricier than we were looking to spend at the time. I opted for the Fried Chicken Sandwich with the Bistro Fries, and my wife chose the Peach & Quark Salad, adding tofu. Our waitress was very attentive, refilled waters routinely, and our food was brought out without a long wait. The Fried Chicken Sandwich had a homemade quality, and I mean that in the best way possible. Crispy breading with juicy chicken, sweet and spicy honey chili crisp glaze, and a nice sourness from the marinated cucumbers. The sandwich came with hot, well-seasoned fries and a delicious aioli to dip them in. My wife was already a huge fan of quark--a sheep's cheese--and the spiced quark on her salad was phenomenal. Sweet peaches, well-seasoned tofu, and fresh greens. The jalapeno vinaigrette was tasty as well, though was a bit sparse on the salad. I wouldn't say I'm picky, but I do have a high bar for food, and I told my wife that I wouldn't change a thing about this meal; it was absolutely delicious. $17 each for a sandwich + fries and a salad would generally be a knock against the restaurant, but I was so satisfied with the food that it didn't bother me. Will definitely be back.

The food was amazing! the pork chop was savory, the salmon was tasty, the smash burger was great. Mary was the best and management was so accommodating. Not too expensive and super clean! The music was perfect, felt intimate but still chill! And the plants are all real!!!

Amazing space and great time visiting Alcove with a crew recently. I could see this being a regular spot if I lived in Cincinnati. I had some food envy compared to others at the table but everything was pretty beyond delicious and the beers to match were perfect. I'll be back!

This place is gorgeous, the plants and living wall are to die for ~ and if we hadn't already eaten, that would have happened ~ because the menu looked spectacular! We sat at the bar and Lauren took AMAZING care of us! I started with the Vine Spritz (the Aperol spritz, but better!) and then we did some flights. Definitely a must-stop if in the OTR!

We came here for a bachelorette evening dinner and it was such a fun vibe for that type of party! We also ran into another bachelorette group! Our waitress was very fun and congratulated our bride- and also brought us complimentary shots including 2 mocktail shots for 2 in our group who weren't drinking. I've only been here for brunch before but now this will definitely be on my go-to for dinner in OTR! The roasted carrots are seriously one of the best I've had...and the crispy tofu sandwich is such a delicious meat alternative option! It's so flavorful- amazing. Alcove never disappoints!

We shared a bread board and I had the salmon. It was delicious and filling. The atmosphere was so open and light. We made a reservation...and it is suggested. Our server was so friendly and helpful in describing everything. Love everything about this place.

I came here for a friend's birthday on a Sunday Brunch and this establishment is fairly cute. Definitely a girly brunch vibe that's for sure - super cute. The service we received for a fairly large party was very good - she was able to answer menu questions on the spot and was very kind. I had ordered their Caesar salad with salmon and the scratch mule. The Caesar salad is what you would expect - a salad lol.. it was good but nothing grand. The other items on their menu didn't really speak to me - they all seem kind of basic for such a cute and hip place. As for my scratch mule - that was just okay.. it was kind of watered down to be honest. Overall it was a good experience as far as the business itself - nice ambiance, good service, but the food could have been more.. innovative for such location.

Came here around 630pm to kill sometime before a 730 dinner reservation and sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and fast. I was shocked at how the place was only 1/2 capacity at prime Saturday dinner time but glad it worked out for us. They do have a lovely patio which was packed.

I love this place! It's so cute, food is great, service is great. Reservation is great for a group or if you want to walk in and just sit in the greenhouse area that's great too! I had the buffalo chicken cauliflower this time and it was amazing!

I've been here a couple of times. The mushroom bolognese was terrible. The noddles were mush and the bolognese was hard to find. But the steak frites and cocktails saved the mother daughter date. We shared the steak and grabbed dessert elsewhere.

Such a great find! I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. The food was delicious. The portions were just enough but not enough for you to take home. Our waiter was kind and polite. The restaurant was cute and definitely instagram worthy.

The food was good, we had the smash burgers and speciality sauce which were great. Disappointed how the tater tots came with only 4 and they weren't even true tater tots they were cubes. They tasted good and they sauce that came with them were good too but definitely didn't live up to what we ordered. Service was good. I liked the vibe of the place too, overall nice scene.

We came and sat on the patio for lunch. They have a beautiful covered side and uncovered side. The covered side has a bar, TVs, and couches. The music and vibes were so fun! The food and drinks were also very good. I highly recommend the curry salmon if it is in the menu!

This place is so unique and you feel like you are in a tropical forest. They have a bar inside area and a covered patio are and rooms for private parties. The food was yummy and the drinks refreshing. A perfect combination. I ordered the cabbage rolls and my hubby waygu meatballs. Next time I will be more hungry to eat even more

Really enjoyed this place! Came here for a happy hour rental and enjoyed many cocktails off their menu. Enjoyed the outdoor greenhouse room. The bartender was so attentive and offered to customize mock tails to my liking. One drink I would not recommend is the espresso martini- it doesn't taste right and is premade. The fireside sangria and spicy paloma are hits!!

I first ate here in 2021 and got the biscuits and gravy. The gravy had chunks of what seemed like fat and was very off-putting texture wise. The biscuits were lukewarm. Service was decent. Just tried it again today and service was shoddy at best. We were greeted quickly but then the waiter literally never came back and we had to flag down another waitress to take our order half an hour later. My boyfriend got the quiche (was decent, hash browns were dry and unseasoned) and I got the short rib hash (way too many potatoes but the short rib was good). No one came to refill our waters which had a scent of ocean/fish, very off-putting. Then we had to flag down the waitress again to get our bill. The ambiance is quite nice, however. Unfortunately we will not be trying it again.

Wow! The food here was very impressive. The fried chicken sandwich was absolutely amazing and don't pass up that bread and fresh creamy butter appetizer. It is so worth it!!! Get the linen cocktail we had a very friendly waitstaff, and it was definitely a cozy bright place to duck into after shopping all morning

I don't think you're going to get this vibe at any brew restaurant. The green house and patio are perfect on a nice day. The orange cream ale was well worth the trip from Arizona. No need to watch any TVs when you have a wall has beautiful as they have. Service was great as well!

Stopped in today on a sporadic trip to Cincinnati and really enjoyed it. Our bartender Lauren was amazing and recommended an amazing drink, white linen which I highly recommend as well. She also recommended the chicken sandwich which was phenomenal! Overall, fantastic experience!

The mushrooms are seriously the best I've had! The cheese board is really good too. Love the pickled veggies. Cocktail options were OK. Vibe is very cute and reminds me of SoCal.

We had an amazing experience at Alcove by Madtree. I booked a large table to accommodate a special engagement lunch for some friends and the time we had there couldn't have been more special and fun. The team at Alcove went out of their way to make sure the occasion was special by including so many special touches, offering to decorate the table with the decor I brought, and simply just taking care of our every need and want! Our server, Sean, was a rockstar as well and was the perfect example of ever present when we needed him but never over-present so that we felt rushed. The food we all had was scrumptious and delicious and we were even lucky enough to try a sneak peak of a summer menu item they'll be rolling out soon! I honestly can't say enough great things about the food, the atmosphere and especially the staff. Above and beyond my expectations! Thanks so much!

Love the bright, plant-filled ambiance of this space! I've come for brunch, dinner, and drinks, and enjoyed it all. Their garden salad is great anytime, the bistro fries a a good starter to share, and I love their drinks, from their wines to their Sways. Their cocktails and small bites are my favorite, and happy hour is a great time to catch them! Monday - Friday from 4-6 they have food and drink specials. Service speed can vary based on how busy they are, but the servers are always friendly and make great recommendations. In addition to their main dining area indoors, they have plenty of outdoor seating, as well as their greenhouse with open seating if you didn't snag a reservation or want a more casual spot. All their dining areas are beautiful!

I've been to the Alcove a few times now, and I'd say it is consistently good. The food is solid, the cocktails are good. Somehow the beer selection was pretty limited. We've always had great service and the location and atmosphere are perfect. There is nothing about The Alcove that makes me crave it, but at the same time, I've recommended it to others who are looking for brunch and I continue to go back.

Great food and the service was fabulous. Lauren took superb care of our table of 9. We had family in for the 4th of July and they were so impressed and happy. Thank you to Lauren for the supreme service!

A beautiful little oasis in the midst of OTR. The menu is just wide enough to cover many tastes, without being too expansive. I loved the mimosa flight, especially the apple which had a cider feel I wasn't expecting. Quiche was really good and the charcuterie board included an apple butter that is up there with the best I've ever tasted. The only thing I wasn't fond of was the hashbrown casserole, which was actually a hashbrown ball. Perhaps a bit over cooked, but it just wasn't great and I likely wouldn't get it again. Can't wait to go back and try the Brunch Board!

The space is beautiful, and the service was wonderful. I had a great mocktail-- watermelon, lime, and mint! We were there early on a Sunday, and it wasn't particularly busy. However, I was pretty disappointed in the food. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, smashburger with fries, and the half barbeque chicken with cornbread, mushrooms, corn, and zucchini. The spinach artichoke dip was underseasoned, and the chips on the side were stale. The smash burger was good, but a bit over-charred, and the fries tasted overcooked and like they had been sitting for a while. The chicken was also overcooked and chewy. I was so excited to finally make it to Alcove. We will try again and hopefully grab something different. I hope it was just an off day.
