On the recommendation of a friend I decided to check out ALDI. I had never been to an ALDI grocery store before and now I am kicking myself for not trying it sooner. Pretty much everything here is less expensive than other grocery stores. The store is clean and bright and the quality of the products is high. I'll be shopping here regularly from now on. A fun thing about ALDI is the coin operated shopping carts. If you want to use a cart be sure to bring a quarter to unlock your cart from the others at the front of the store. After bagging your own groceries and taking them to your car, return your cart and get your quarter back by reattaching it to the other carts. Happy discount shopping everyone!

Friedrich L.

Google
Aldi stores in the US look just like they do in Germany; same logo, same size parking lot. Even the shopping carts manage to look just like the ones in Germany! Nothing in the stores suggests that Aldi is a German company. But it is! Their worldwide headquarter is located in my hometown, Mülheim Ruhr.

Chase W.

Google
Great store but as google wrongfully displays, the store is in fact CLOSED and will be for the foreseeable future.

I like Aldi though the items I wanted were out of stock. They have a good collection of German chocolate. Today I decided to buy Aldi versions of popular brands I often buy. The Aldi versions we're just as tasty but were almost half the cost. The current supply chain problems have also affected Aldi. Much of the frozen vegetables were gone. There was very limited amount of dark chocolate. Prices for beef items are much more expensive.

Google
Well organized and clean store, friendly staff. Definitely a regular grocery spot for me

I shop at this Aldi's with my grandmother who lives in Alta Dena. Good selections. I wish they would sale the Bolthouse Farms Superfood Immunity Boost and the Maxi pads. I guess you all stopped selling these items. I do want to note that I really enjoyed the checker, Taylor, the way he puts the groceries in our cart makes it easier to bag. I am really leaving this review for him and his excellent customer service. He was pleasant and considerate, when I dislike bagging, at least he makes it easy for us. He is very organized, and my grandmother and I appreciated that!

*UPDATE as of 01/08/2025* -**CLOSED** It is unknown, at this time, what the future will be for this location, as it burned to the ground yesterday due to the expansive Eaton Fire. I personally hope that they will be able to rebuild, as I loved this Aldi. The prices and variety of products were just perfect for my family and my own needs.

Melissa M.

Google
It's a really nice location. there's a Dollar King next door but parking is not an issue and it's pretty big. This Aldi's has a lot more variety than my home location which is why I make the drive. Everything is always organized and they bring in new stuff weekly.

Ingeborg T.

Yelp
cost for business, burned down. please update your web. It took me 45 min to drive there and then I found out that the store is closed for business.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this Aldi location was lost in the Altadena, CA fire. I went by the other day and the whole thing is entirely gutted. I pray for those that work there and their families.
google avatar

Katrina W.

Yelp
Please come back to Altadena/ Pasadena. We need an Aldi in the neighborhood! This store was my go to for most things- our neighborhood needs you to rebuild

Devin M.

Yelp
Please bring it back! This was my go to spot in the Pasadena/altadena area. I'm so sad it got affected by the fires.

Yelp
Great store that is always well-stock and organized. Great team of employees and Aaron is one of the best people on staff--always friendly and helpful. He goes above and beyond to make the shopping experience pleasant

Yelp
Warning !!!the produce section of this grocery store is terrible .Many of the items had mold on them. The berries cucumbers specifically. There terribly displayed things are just thrown everywhere. The store is very messy and dirty. I do not recommend you shop here buyer beware

Yelp
6.26.22 VERY CLEAN STORE . Bring a quarter if you want to use a shopping cart, they're locked up outside, released only by a quarter (too many homeless) . Good stuff in here, it's not a huge store and mostly has off brands but everything I've bought including the produce is good and slightly le$$ co$tly than the major branded stores . Right next to a Dollar Tree if you need cheap basics like salt and sugar etc. . Plenty of well lit and spacious off street parking behind the store . -Nate

Yelp
Great prices, good products, I definitely save a tons of money. Cashiers are really, really nice and quick!
google avatar

Yelp
This place has the cheapest prices for milk and eggs. A dozen large eggs at Aldi is $1.59 and at Smart & Final 18 large eggs is $3.89, so buying 2 dozen from Aldi is cheaper than getting an 18 pack at Smart & Final. I don't know why this place has such a low score on yelp. Grocery outlet is right next door and has higher prices on the basics.

Yelp
I love love live ALDI!! Every single time I come here, I always never leave empty handed! Let's start off with my staples that I grab: Philippine dried mangoes, brioche buns, salad kits, their delicious 2%milk, eggs and their puff pastry appetitos (if they have it in stock)! If you're lucky enough to catch some of their Aldi finds, do not sleep on it, because it won't be there tomorrow! And whew chile, if you find their $3.99 candles in stock, you better stock up and do not have buyers remorse! You will thank me! Their Huntington Home candles can fill a room with their great fragrant scents! But above all else, their value! You get delicious food varieties for a great price! Try them out! Don't forget your quarter for their cart exchange program.

Jane D.

Yelp
I personally do not care for their 'copycat' items that are of lesser quality yet labeled to resemble the packaging of national brands (e.g., Campbell soup). The fact that the checkers are so stressed and monitored/timed as to the checkout process is crazy (especially when there's barely any/many customers in line). The items carried are mostly 'off brand' (which is just not my cup of tea). Not a good selection of fresh produce. That is all.
google avatar

M M.

Yelp
Why do I leave empty handed? WAYYYYYYYYYY too long lines in the middle of day. There's 5 registers. There shouldn't be a single register open when there's 10+ people in line with full carts. I just walk out. Fine if you have 30+ min to stand in line.
google avatar

Yelp
WE just departed the always clean and well lit store ALDI in the afternoon time. WE are night crawlers and generally sneak in around 8:30 pm. AS busy as a grocery providing store can be at 2:00pm on a Friday, Jennifer and AA-MCO, aka Aaron handled the customer lines expeditiously and with smiles abound. Thank you team ALDI Altadena. p.s for the life of me , cannot understand why this ALDI has only 3 stars on YELP.... Perhaps YELP's algorithms are in need of updating.

Yelp
My wife and I went here on Sunday evening. Their was not a lot of people here. The store does have different options, such as beach toys for kids. This store has spices that has no salt added. They have a good selection of salads and frozen vegetables. I seen a large meat selection as well, but did not buy any of that. There is plenty of parking. The store is not real big , maybe about 4,000 square feet.
google avatar

Karen K.

Yelp
This has been my go to grocery store for awhile. It's very quiet and clean. The staff is utlra-nice and super friendly. This place is great for staples and alcohol and fruits and veggies. There are always great finds here. Big parking spaces. Like all Aldis - You have to bring a quarter if you want to use their cart and bag your own groceries. I was hard pressed to spend more than $40 to take advantage of their $10 off coupon (excluding alcohol). I didn't get any soda either.
google avatar

Steven W.

Yelp
I was so happy to have found Aldi. The quality of the food and veggies is top noch, the prices are great and they have fun new "finds" every time I shop. The employees have always been friendly and the experience always pleasant. I've found that bringing my own reusable bag into the store made shopping much easier. I didn't need a quarter for a cart and if I placed my bag in the cart at the end of the checkout lane, the cashiers were happy to place my goods directly into it. No fuss!
google avatar

Rebecca D.

Yelp
I am not a regular because this isn't in my neighborhood, but I do come in a couple times a year to check things out. Not crazy about depositing a quarter to use the cart. Right now it's a Saturday afternoon and they just opened a 2nd register for the 10 customers in line. I do like the dried porcini mushroom tortellini and the canned crushed tomatoes are a good price. Plenty of parking and right next door to Dollar King.
google avatar

Mimi K.

Yelp
Oh my god my experience here was so nasty utterly so disappointing. I came in to do a return and I work at an aldi ( a different location ) so I know how the return policy works so when I asked why my returns weren't going back on my card instead of a gift card (( I also had my receipts with me )) and the manager stated she dosent know like ???? You don't know you're own return policy??? Immediately upon getting to the cashier as well, I was met with such a nasty attitude and when the manager came over to process the return they both made comments in a very condescending way I will never ever go back here sooooo dissatisfactory. Professionalism is dead I suppose!

Yelp
Silly update. My discovery favorite of an old college thing at Aldi is the ingredients for Frito Pies. Their mild chili with or without beans goes really well with their F-L copy corn chips (the orange and red bag kind, not the real tortillas - the ones that are basically fried extruded yellow masa chips), and sprinked with some of the 4-cheese shredded mix. I also find their various bags of granola nuke really well with something dairy or non-dairy to make flavorful oatmeals in 60 seconds. Our cat really likes both of the blue and green bags of dry kitty kibble. And one of the oddest things of COVID has been without big family/group parties, they end up with a dearth of frozen hams, turkeys, and other holiday things that must go. And they start dropping prices quickly to get the freezer space back. The last 15lb bone-in ham ended up being $6. I don't give up on their chocolates, I keep going until I find the ones I prefer (but then, I will eat IKEA chocolate alongside the Callebeaut and Vosges.) And I haven't found one of the various coffees that works for me as a hot beverage, but they're fine for cold brew. But I did get quite addicted to their 100% dairy flavored creamer series which really have some great flavors, when you want a naturally-flavored creamer you didn't make from scratch. And if you're into them, ALDI's sticky toffee pudding beat M&S and costs 80% less.

Yelp
Unfortunately this is the closest grocery store to us, and I rarely stop by.. when I do it's always a depressing experience. Shopping carts that need quarters and cashier throwing your items in to your shopping basket so you can bag yourself after you pay. The store does have a select few good items.. not enough selection to make it a one stop shop. Prices are reasonable and they do carry some organic fruits and vegetables. The impersonal pure consumer approach is not the experience I personally want when going to a grocery store.

Yelp
Updating my review for the time of Coronavirus. I haven't been venturing out much at all this past month, but as someone who cooks (and subsequently eats) *a lot*, ALDI has been great for stocking up on essentials. I've also never seen a line out the door here like I have when I've driven by Trader Joes and Whole Foods. Aside from the first week when almost all stores were ravaged and empty, this store had most things I need so I can do one big grocery run every week or so (for a really good price). We usually score a full cart of food for less than $150 and then supplement with a produce box we've been buying from a local farm. We've been eating well. Shoutout to the staff here who's been friendly, patient, and (IMO) brave during this whole thing. I think that the system this store already had--putting your own cart away to get your quarter back, bagging your own groceries, etc--has helped with social distancing and makes it so the staff can focus on restocking, etc. They have six foot markers to keep the social distancing in place while in line. My favorite things to get here (in no particular order): organic cashews and almonds, coconut oil, avocado oil, citrus, scallions, mushrooms, organic eggs, kimchi, chicken thighs, salmon, chickpeas, coffee, peppercorns and allspice berries for pickling, red chili flakes, goat cheese, whole grain pasta, oats, beer, and wine. Haven't found toilet paper here (or anywhere!) since this whole thing started, but we did buy it from here before that. Not wild about their chocolate (I'm picky about that) and their fish doesn't always look amazing, so I sort of base my weekly dinners on what's available/looking good. Also worth noting that if you purchase something that's not good, expired, etc, ALDI will both replace it *and* give you a refund for the original product. Pretty nice!

Yelp
Let's update this review again. We now buy 90% of our groceries from ALDI. I got used to their stingy shopping cart deposit and non-existent customer service. We have probably saved $300/month since 2017 by not going to Ralphs down the street. Food quality is fine but selection is limited, so you end up buying the same things over and over again. BUT, it turns out you really don't need 20 kinds of mayonnaise or 7 different brands of water at a grocery store. Again, you get used to it. Some people hate the ALDI experience and that's fine. However, I enjoy the extra $$$ in my pocket and eat just as healthy. Instacart it, ignore the labels, and you can't tell the difference.

Yelp
I saw Aldi was nearby after visiting a local coffee shop so I decided to swing by- I was curious about this new (to me) grocery store which I was under the impression had a European vibe. I was underwhelmed- it's a spacious, bland store that reminded me of a Grocery Outlet without the occasional gems/hard to find faves. First of all, you stick a quarter in the locked carts to release one for use, then once you return the cart and lock it back up you get your coin back. Kind of tedious but whatever....I went down most of the aisles but didn't see anything I really wanted or needed. I wound up getting a few bananas, pumpkin pie mix, and baking soda. Not very exciting but I figured I should get something rather than look odd leaving with an empty cart with a random quarter in it. This place had some average and below average prices, some brands I've never heard of/store brands- fake Chobani Greek yogurt and such. I did notice a few interesting European-looking imported items like chocolates and bread, but nothing that compelled me to purchase. I don't mind paying slightly higher prices if the customer service is good- this place is truly no frills. The checker didn't bother to put my items in my reusable bags, just in the cart- I guess you bag them up yourself. I'm not a fan and prefer going to my usual haunts with interesting and always changing inventory like Trader Joe's. It wasn't busy on a Saturday early evening but I doubt it ever really is- I don't think Aldi has caught on in SoCal and probably won't if this visit was any indication! I'll stick to TJs and Pavilions.

Yelp
I have enjoyed shopping at this location for a couple of years now. I have especially appreciated feeling accepted and unshamed for living my convictions while shopping and at checkout! Please never run out of that amazing ice cream Make Fudge Not War! An apropos name BTW!

Yelp
-Bring your own bags :):):):) -Too narrow of parking spaces-- even for itty bitty cars like my smart car sized vehicle - clean and WELL air conditioned inside - friendly staff - good deals - I would recommend against the fish though-- I got food sickness after eating the cod I bought here - long lines to check out , but the cashiers are so speedy, it won't take you long to get through
google avatar

Danny C.

Yelp
Total waste of time. Here's why: Want to use their carts? Bring a quarter with you. They lock all their carts. The quarter will be returned when you return the cart. Selection of items is LIMITED. This isn't really a grocery store, it's like the half way point between between a convenience store and a grocery store. They didn't have Worcestershire sauce. A lot of their items are their store brand and not a lot of other brands. Understaffed. Came in @ 7pm and when getting ready to checkout they had NO cashiers ready. When the line got long the cashier asked for assistance with no assistance in sight. I came because of a coupon I received in the mail, I came in one day early for the coupon and they refused to accept it. Well, I refuse to do business!

Yelp
UPDATE: My most recent visit late September 2019 The visit left me with a feeling that no-one was watching the store rotten food and vegetables in many areas.. I have given Aldi USA several calls and contacted them via email in hopes of receiving an explanation of what is going on at the Altadena Aldi location on Lake. A district manager was supposed to contact me and has not reached out to me after more than a month. The over-worked employees at Aldi can not keep up with all that needs to be done to keep the store healthy. In Germany the laws covering employee rights are strong and enforced. In the USA the German company can take advantage of workers due to inadequate enforcement and protection of workers. This maximizes Aldi USA profits but drastically reduces the quality of the shopping experience at Aldi.

Yelp
Aldi has grown on me. I'm a regular. But there is one critical problem with this market that forces you to shop somewhere else as well. Based upon its size you'd think variety, and there is that. But what's worse than not having the choice a Trader Joe's has or even a Vons is that what Aldi does carry is typically hit or miss. Organic Olive Oil, their Butter and Olive Oil blend, their regular Almond Milk, their Dark Roast coffee, Artisan sandwich rolls. As often as these items are in stock they're also unavailable. "Ahh you missed it!" they say. I say, "Stock your damn store better." I get that sometimes they have to throw chicken breasts and wait for new ones. All supermarkets have this supply issue. But at Aldi it's also stupid things. Their motto is "we'd rather be out of stuff you need than have it on hand and discount it". If this issue were fixed, ALDI would be an easy 4 stars or better. But the fact ALDI has trouble committing to being itself leaves it at 3 stars. And why they STILL don't have Organic %1 milk is anybody's guess.
google avatar

Jas J.

Yelp
First and foremost, bring a damn quarter! After reading some of the reviews on here, people are acting like having spare change is a foreign concept when we live in a city full of parking meters! That being said, the shopping cart situation is very simple. You insert a quarter to release the cart, once you're done shopping and you've loaded all of your groceries into your car, you put the shopping cart back and it releases the quarter. It's a very simple concept to reduce all of the "missing" shopping carts that are found all throughout LA with homeless people, your car doesn't get scratched by carts, and they don't have to pay someone to pick up the cards which reduces the cost of your groceries. I live in downtown LA, but I particularly chose to visit this Aldi as it literally has the WORST reviews. I haven't been to an Aldi supermarket since I was on the East Coast so I had high expectations for Aldi and wanted to give this store the benefit of the doubt. This store was very clean, more clean than any of Ralph's and Food 4 Less that I frequently shop at. The prices were great, especially for produce. They offer several organic produce options for under $1. Unless you're looking for some super rare organic superfood berry that cures cancer exclusively sold at Whole Foods, the majority of us can find all of our groceries here! They carry several name brands such as Cutie's, Tide, Pop-tarts, and more. They also carry tons of organic options such as organic eggs, organic bananas, organic almond milk, organic Greek yogurt, organic produce, organic Kombucha, and more. They have a great variety of cheeses and bread. As far as ethnic foods go, they do offer the basics, but go to Food 4 Less right down the street if you're looking for something more. They do offer several harder to find German and European ethnic options. The majority of negative reviews seem to be complaining about the Aldi brand items, but overall I have yet to notice a significant difference in quality. They have a fairly large parking lot and were very busy on the Monday night that I went, however I didn't wait more than 5 minutes to check out. All in all, I bought 47 items today for $110. Not a bad deal if you ask me :) Glad to see Aldi in LA, will be returning!
google avatar

Neal C.

Yelp
Aldi's prices range from average to downright amazing depending on the item, and that's really the selling point here. I found some awesome deals today like a dozen eggs for $0.39, a 3-lb bag of clementines for $.99, and tomatoes for $.15/lb! The one thing to be aware of with some of these deals is that the items are often close to their sell-by dates, so make sure you check that and be ready to use the things you buy relatively quickly. Being new to this brand, I did find some things a little confusing. I get that they don't want their carts to be stolen, but I didn't have any quarters on me and there's no way to get one without inserting one. When you check out, they put all of your items directly in a basket and you're supposed to go over to the wall to pack them into a bag. This was a little confusing and could have been explained better. I wasn't terribly impressed by their produce section and wouldn't give up the variety at super king to shop here every week, but I was impressed enough with some of the crazy deals to pop in whenever I'm in the area.
google avatar

Rusty H.

Yelp
Yeah, this store might take a minute to get used to. Bring your quarter if you want to use a shopping cart. I struggled with just my recyclable bags thinking I'd only purchase a few items, but with these prices I got carried away. $.65 for a loaf of bread?! $.25 for a whole thing of strawberries?!! $1.99 for almond milk?! Okay, I'm a fan. I went in there with my $5 off any purchase of $25 or more, did all kinds of shopping and couldn't use my coupon, because I'd only bought $16 worth of stuff. I hear Wednesday's are the day to go because they get unique items on Wednesdays. I'm not a huge fan of bagging my own groceries, because I'm not that good at it, but at these prices I'll manage.
google avatar

L T.

Yelp
Why? WHY!? Watch your receipts here My Fellow Shoppers. They have a price on the shelf, but it is probably not what you'll be charged. You will be charged more. Never less. When you point this out (I do, it's the Principle) there's such a fuss. A manager has to be called. A key is involved. No one apologizes and no one corrects it. That's right. They do not correct it. They say they will. But they don't. I feel like Aldi needs to understand how seriously the State of California takes grocery store overcharging. Vons was successfully sued and had to pay out a huge fine for this exact issue. I hope it happens to you too Aldi. Cause I am sick of having to check my receipt after you have ripped me off. It's very hard to see what they are actually charging you as it is being rung up. Just. Yeah. Things haven't improved. I can tell you the story of the rotten potatoes that they don't remove from the floor even after you point it out. Or I could compare the way the chicken rots at incredible speed when you buy it here versus the new Stater Brothers. But. Butt. You know. Still no hand baskets. Still terrible slow service at the check out High Fructose Corn Syrup Heaven.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Vegetables and fruits are always fresh. Prices are so reasonable. The staff are very kind and friendly. The store and parking lot are so large and enough, so it is very convenient to use. I feel refreshed when I look at the mountain behind the parking lot too.
google avatar

Jenny C.

Yelp
Came in for one thing, carrots, just a bag of carrots. I grabbed a bag and headed to the check out. Got home, opened said bag of carrots only to find that they were rotten... I can only image how long those things have sat on the shelf.. and it's not like there were 20 bags.. there were maybe, 8... This place is such a disappointment and in a community that desperately needs a good market.

Yelp
Been an Aldi's shopper since they opened in CA. Like this store more than some of the others. Nice employees. Good value on their stuff....most of it being pretty good quality! Their shelves are always full and it's clean. Though some of their customer base are real tools. One guy literally crapped his pants over them not having hand baskets......(insert eye roll) I can usually find 2-3 things each time I go that I hadn't planned on buying since they get in lots of random stuff you don't find at other grocery stores! They could use some music in the store though....might calm some of the uptight people!

Fiona J.

Yelp
The staff at this store, are a HUGE part of why I shop here. Friendly, polite & eager to assist. I don't go to this store with the expectation that it be "The same" as other big chains. They have their own brands, which I am very satisfied with. The variety & prices are great. Shopping here, is inclusive for everyone. Thank You!

Yelp
Okay, I just made my first trip to Aldi after reading the many positive and negative reviews here on Yelp. Let me start here: This store is awesome if you have a basic concept of economics. It is not a white glove, red carpet style grocery store. It's a working class store that brings high quality products to working-class budgets. For my family who is on a single income, this store is a blessing with their low prices. In the face of high business expenses many grocery stores currently endure, especially in California, Aldi trimmed the overhead 'fat' to keep their prices low. As such, they have minimal staff. So, to those complaining that they cannot find help, that's the reason. You want your hand held as you shop, go to another store and pay more for it. For those who remember the now-defunct "Fresh & Easy," it's somewhat similar to their old business model, while expanding on it to make it more efficient and sustainable. The staff here does all the roles a traditional store would separate and define for each employee (eg: no specific cashier roles). And how they stock their shelves is brilliant, as their items arrive on a pallet and just need to be dropped into place. As I said before, there are no specific cashiers, restocking people, etc. Every Aldi employee does everything, sharing the load equally. In addition, they keep their business hours around peak traffic times. So late night frozen pizza and beer runs aren't going to bring you to Aldi. This also means they don't open early either. They target their business hours around expected traffic. This keeps their payroll under control (eg: additional overhead). One of my favorite features found at this store is the 25¢ shopping cart loan. I always say that if you can't return something, you probably shouldn't borrow it. Shopping carts are no exception. Being from Washington State myself, grocery stores up there usually have a clean parking lot from rogue shopping carts. Sure, I usually see one or two carts roaming around. But not as many that would constitute as a problem. Down here, there are almost as many - if not more shopping carts in the parking lot as there are in stores. People simply don't return them, and that's a major problem. Maybe it's an entitlement issue, or sheer laziness. But Aldi is answering that call and making you deposit a quarter to release a cart to entice you to put it back when done. When you return the cart to the stall, you get your quarter back. Simple, right? And say if you see a bunch of carts straying in the parking lot, you could possible make a buck or two for a load of laundry rallying them up yourself. Honestly, I love the idea of 25¢ refundable deposit carts. Anyone complaining about Aldi's shopping cart policies are probably the very people who leave their empty carts in parking lots which, in turn, ding your vehicle. Otherwise, why else would a person complain about that? A surprising thing that I discovered is an aisle devoted to temporary great deals. I think Aldi's buyers see large bulk items they can turn around and sell quickly at a discount, such as tools, cookware, household items, etc. It was a nice surprise and I got one of those silly toilet bowl LED lights for $6.99. That was kind of fun. Now, if you're not familiar with the history of Aldi, you should really look into this company, ESPECIALLY if you're a Trader Joe's fan. Yes, Aldi and Trader Joe's are related. No, they don't sell the same products or target he same demographic. But they're both under the same ALDI Nord umbrella. This is easily found on Wikipedia or any other site. Fun fact, Aldi is abbreviated from the founder's last name and the word "discount" (eg: Albrecht Diskont). And yes, Aldi is a German company. Anyway, the prices were ridiculously low on this trip. They're definitely less expensive than many of The 99¢ Only Store's and Grocery Outlet's prices - to which I'm referring to my neighborhood Burbank stores. I really enjoyed my trip to see the store myself. I got 3 packed backs full of groceries and novelties for $31. So, to Aldi's Real Estate Planning team, please bring one out to Burbank or nearby please! Lastly, the following article from Mashed is the read that piqued my interest about Aldi and how they run their business. I hope it also helps you understand their business model better as well. https://www.mashed.com/91780/aldi-gets-prices-low/

Yelp
My first visit to Aldi. The store was clean, the employees were nice, the selection of food was great - especially all the gluten free items. Prices are reasonable. Everyone was wearing a mask and the one customer who had hers down around her chin was asked to place it on her face. Thank you! I liked it a lot and will definitely return.

Yelp
I love this place! The staff are friendly and prices are dirt cheap. It's a no frills place to keep prices down, and I appreciate that. I've found the store brands to be hit or miss. Sometimes it can be surprising to find something so cheap is worth buying! Some weeks I have to hit up Stater Bros or Ralphs for the items that Aldi doesn't have.

Yelp
Aldi Altadena is a good addition to the grocery shopping scene in our neighborhood. Comparatively great prices. Amazed at what $60 will buy compared to the leading stores. BEST place to get dairy. Baked goods are quite good - but lately have had to watch for stale items. TERRIBLE when it comes to produce - stuff doesnt last. Cereals and nuts are stale. Lately I've been disappointed their inventory is running low. Their delivery service is HORRIBLE - major problems with the last two deliveries. Today was the last straw, I told Devon not to substitute and she did anyway. She delivers on time but in this rain the paper bag broke and groceries went all over the porch. I'll continue to shop there - hoping the inventory improves. Worth 4 stars?

Yelp
This market reminds me of the 99 cent store. It has some groceries presented in their shipping boxes and laid out on the shelves. It has some random items like clothing and cooking pots, and some low quality frozen foods in the frozen section. You have to put a quarter in the cart in order to get it out of the corral, and get your quarter back when you put the cart back. Over all boring selection of foods and cheap looking items.

Yelp
I love Aldi! In fact I've been visiting Aldi every week to browse the AldiFinds sections... solar lamps $1.99 with 3-year warranty... beautiful orchid at $10.. German chocolates.. Now where do you find that kind of deals? So here's my two cents as to what to buy: - diary items such as eggs, milk, cheeses are great - Aldi has a lot of in house brands. I always go for "specialty selected" brands because they never disappoint me! Things I've tried and liked: - Brie cheese - Spanish cheese plate - Naan bread (garlic) - sprouted grain bread - brioche from France - Clancy's baked chips - freeze dried strawberries and pears (as toppings on your cereals or yogurt or eat as healthy chips) - canned stuffs are cheaper than your regular grocer - baked stuffs like yeast packets, sugar, flour, etc.

Yelp
Aldi, you're the best! Thanks for the quarter for a shopping cart system, this keep the carts where they should be and not dinging my new car, PURE GENIUS! I love your Aldi Finds, I've gotten some cool things at great prices. I'm snacking on one of your granola bars right now, inexpensive, tasty and no chemicals. I don't get the complainers here. Your store is clean, your associates are kind and polite. See you soon.

Yelp
It is amazingly inexpensive and most staff are quite friendly. There are deals. There is also unique kids home and garden stuff!

Yelp
First of all, people that are whiny little idiots about the shopping carts. Poor babies! Bring a quarter! Notice how there are no carts in the parking lot ready to ding your car? Get over it. Now, the store itself. You tell me where in town you can buy a dozen eggs for under $2 - sometimes under $1 - and then you can bitch. The selection is perfect. Not hundreds of brands to choose from. Simple and uncomplicated. Great prices and great staff! Yes, we still hit Vons for some things but this is our go-to market. I save a lot on my weekly budget. Overall, love it. You don't? Spend that quarter towards your free range avocado toast and let the rest of us enjoy our shopping.

Yelp
I thoroughly had a good experience in this store. One associate -H helped me find a few things quickly as I was in a rush ... and barely knew my way around this store newly constructed since moved frm beautiful Pasadena. And the cashier Anthony was very much a gentleman , even laughed at my not so basic/unique I'm sure humor.....when there were entirely Rude customers saying to "hurry up" tho had multiple orders and couldn't possibly hurry it up anyway!! This store is great and the customer service is beyond average here, which was surprising. Goes to show however, how ridiculous customers can be, most likely knowing they lack communication skills. Lol.

Yelp
They get a 3 star due to the fact that many of the employees working there had no interest in helping me. If you can't look into my eyes and help a customer that is in need of a good employees help then the manager need to higher someone who is hard working and has the charisma to talk to anyone. One employee from the meat deli was very helpful thank you for making it easy for me to get what I need fast and he was polite.
