Salmonella Chicken Recall Hits UK Supermarkets and Pret a Manger | Eater London

"The supermarket was the first to act on 10 May, voluntarily recalling two chicken Caesar wraps after the supplier alert; the recall is part of a wider precautionary removal of sandwich, wrap, sandwich-filler and deli items across retailers." - James Hansen

Google
Great choices! I loved the fruits! The meat selection is nice as well as the cheese options. The chips section had so many options it was hard to choose. The home products are pretty cool 😎 I definitely would have bought more if I had more money in that moment. I didn't happen to see a few items but I am going back regularly now!

Google
Clean, well organized with helpful staff and great choices for great prices. I had to update review. Much more selection varies by location. This one was well stocked and had lots of bargains. Loved it!

The manager on the floor was most helpful and got what I needed

Some items are just as expensive but a great place to stock the pantry

Yelp
2 stars to be nice because the one young man cashier who was doing his job was pleasant. The prices were also good here, not a bad selection, and clean. Berenice, however, was probably the worst cashier I've ever met. Very unfriendly and unpleasant. Scanned and threw our items in a shopping cart and asked if we were paying cash or card. Spoke to us like we were deaf and then shoved the receipt in my face afterward. I don't know if she was just having an off day but it was not acceptable. I would not come back to this location to shop solely because of her attitude.

Yelp
I think it was a few years back Aldi's decided to re-do stores to be more like their Germany counterpart. The places are VERY well maintained and easy to navigate. The prices on items are typically at or below other stores. The benefit is getting something different than the normal boring local brands. If you love meats and cheeses you have to check them out. The staff at the checkouts have always been very courteous. The interiors are still big and open with new signage looking similar to a hy*vee store.

Yelp
I always have great service at this location. The store is a little older and smaller than the one in Papillion, but has what you need.

Yelp
Nice change to supermarkets, love all of the European items that remind me of home. All produce is fresh, also the Aldi brand items are also very good quality and taste is very similar to the name brand stuff.

Yelp
The owner is very rude. I've came to this location numerous occasions and had good experiences until one day the owner was on the premises. I was never approached by the regular staff that if was prohibited to bring my emotional support 5lb Yorkie inside the Aldis store with me. The owner tried to say her employees was allergic to dogs which didn't make sense when the employees always had good conversation with me when they cashed me out at the register. Never bought to my attention they were allergic to pets. Then she goes onto say my dog needed be on leash when I clearly am holding her in my arms. Never once had he running around the store. I felt very uncomfortable, harassed and threatened by the way she came at me.

Yelp
Honestly, I never bothered to stop into an ALDI until very recently when I found out it was connected to TraderJoe's with ownership. I always thought it was more like a gas station store (maybe due to the logo?) so never thought I would find so many affordable food options inside. This location is newly renovated and ready for action. ALDI chains are interesting to shop at, as they have some unique brands of snacks and food that you cannot find elsewhere. I thought the food options were decent for a little market, with produce, frozens, fresh meats, and dairy all having a place in the store. Probably not my every week stop, but nice to know there are more options out there, and the snacks I picked up were unique and great.

Yelp
I love shopping at Aldi and love this store in person. This time I ordered via instacart, ordered for 1 pm and my order was done at 930-945 am.. I recieved numerous emails and text messages saying it was done .. I showed up at 1 pm to pick up my order, I checked in 15 min before getting there, and again when I was there. I sat there for 10+ min before I got another message saying I have to go in to get my groceries.. I expected it to be ready and I could just go. No there was no one around, 1 person checking out who had a line half way to the back of the store.. I waited another 5 min and finally a younger kid came up and retrieved my groceries and I was able to go on my way.. I think from now on I will go in and do my own shopping (I just thought I might save a ton of money because I won't impulse buy lol)

Yelp
Okay, I really appreciate the discount prices that Aldi provides to its customers. While most are not name brand goods, the quality is still good. You can safe quite a bit off your grocery bill. Today's received outstanding customer service from the cashier who was ringing me out. I inquired as to whether they still carried the English Muffins I had looked for and could not find and she said they did. Rather than having me get out of line and go look for them, she left the position behind the register and ran to grab me some muffins. Outstanding service.

Yelp
Due to the Council Bluffs Aldi being closed for the next month or so, my family and I were forced to come to this one and it was a pleasant experience. The size of the store looks about the same as my other Aldi and the aisle's were all set up the same way. I was really surprised that this Aldi has cheaper prices than my Aldi in CB on some items. The inside was clean, the grocery selection was good and the staff was nice. If I'm forced to go to any other Aldi in the future, I'll be happy to come here again.

Yelp
Regarding the cashier who was checking out on 8/24 around 12:45p: she was friendly but called me "sweetie" and "hun" during our interaction, which was very odd when she herself is likely to be younger than myself. I find that to be very condescending and very inappropriate. I really hope she does not do this to the senior customers who enter the store. Other than that, this store has everything I need.

Yelp
Aldi is my favorite place to shop. Clean, friendly and always stocked as best they can be. Love Aldi!

Yelp
I used to go to my neighborhood Walmart all the time but lately have found myself hoping on hwy 75 to Aldi to grocery shop. The prices and quality of their brand most definitely are worth a couple of additional miles. Can't beat Aldi's for price of many staple items like milk, eggs, baking ingredients, & bread to name a few. Added bonus is the interesting variety of beer and spirits. If you've never been, it's worth visiting and checking out. Don't forget your own bags and a refundable quarter to grab a shopping cart. Aldi's also has a variety of recycled reusable bags for sale (inexpensive); I have about 6 of their really large bags and use them frequently.

Yelp
This little store is a European chain that has found its way over here. You won't find your name brand items but you get some pretty good off brand items that are just as good. The prices are the best thing about it. Very cheap! Cheaper then wal mart and you don't have the hassle and chaos that comes with it. They don't have a large selection, but I typically get dairy, meats and bread here and I've never had an issue. Also bring your own bags since they don't supply bags in order to help the environment. Also it cost a quarter to use a shopping cart, but you get it back when you return the cart. Give this little store a chance!

Yelp
No frills grocery store with great prices. You have to be choosy about you buy. Best items: grapefruit seltzer, turkey loin, goat cheese pizza and the booze selection is a grab bag but worth a look. Staff in recent years has got much nicer. Aldi is investing in upgrading Omaha stores and they have a great formula for people who want affordable, organic food. Can't do all your shopping here because there's a lot of stuff they don't carry, but still worth a stop.

Yelp
We save about 40% on our grocery bill shopping here. For the most part, the generics exceed expectations. Once in a while you get a dud (steak quesadillas had one tiny piece of steak in a box of 4). Wish they would bring back the calzones. They were superb! We can get most of our food there, but they have a limited selection and sometimes have to go elsewhere to pick those items up. Even when it is crowded, you can get out of the store quickly, and you don't have to walk 2 miles inside like Wal*Mart and fight their lines and experience the weird customers. They've improved their selection of meat, too. Why pay more elsewhere?

Yelp
Aldi is a great place for produce! I enjoy coming here, but you have to come prepared! A big plus is having the 2 spaces for the kids to sit in the cart. I can take my weekly budget of $100 at Walmart and spend between $75-85 at Aldi. It's not name brand but my kids aren't complaining, while my checking account is doing a happy dance I am highly anticipating the re-opening of this location after its remodel!

Yelp
I really enjoy shopping at Aldi's, I can usually save a lot on staples, meats and eggs. You can find a lot of great deals. Theirs always an ad in the Wednesday World Harold you can find more deals or look up on line and make a shopping list on their web site. I always have to remember to have a quarter with me so I can use a cart. That is one of the difficult things about Aldi's. People are generally patient about waiting their turn in line and the checkers are very quick about getting through the lines. Overall a great shopping experience.

Linda S.

Yelp
If you want any customer service, shop elsewhere. The groceries are good values but waiting in long lines to check out, with only 1 cashier is not my idea of a good experience. Employees can make the difference with helpfulness and smiles, and these qualities are not to be found at this Aldi. I only shop here when the other Aldis are too far to travel.
