Colin the Caterpillar Cake Settles M&S and Aldi Cuthbert Lawsuit | Eater London

"The supermarket’s Cuthbert the Caterpillar chocolate cake will be visually altered as part of a settlement with the maker of Colin the Caterpillar; the two retailers reached an undisclosed accord on 5 November 2021 that requires concessions over Colin’s asserted intellectual property. The dispute has drawn attention to how similar novelty caterpillar cakes have become a competitive category, and a supermarket spokesperson insisted that “Cuthbert is free.”" - James Hansen

Had a transaction issue for return credit that Morgan graciously handled for me with kindness & empathy, despite having to complete it line by line. She's a terrific manager operating a fantastic store!

Prices are good, I give them 4 stars due to the quality of ingredients in most of the products they distribute. Many containing things like palm oil. I could go on but pointless. If you care about your health you would check these things.b

Wide variety of unique grocery items, vegetables, breads, cheeses and frozen are my favorite items to get from here. Also flowers, plants and house gadgets and items. Prices are good. Workers are friendly. Small store, and often busy so lots of foot traffic can get chaotic. Remember to bring a quarter for your cart.

Terrible and racist experience I had at Aldi. I was using self checkout with a cart full of groceries bagging them, and needing to pay for the bags which I did. Once EVERYTHING was scanned, bags included the cashier came over to me and ONLY me and asked TWICE if I scanned the bags for purchase. I answered her both times and asked her why she did not check or questioned anyone else. She did not answer and went back to the cash register. Once I paid for everything, I asked to speak with the manager on duty. Outcomes the wannabe Goth manager and she did not help the situation in the slightest. As I was having the conversation with the “could care less manager” the cashier who questioned me DID NOT get up and check anyone else’s bags! Aldi, if you require your team to check the self check out bags of purchase, then have a singular person standing there checking EVERYONE BAGS !! Not just the people of color who shopped there.

Google
Prices that you can save every dollar not dimes ,organize and clean for the most part. For me the price of milk is a blessing, their produce are ok just need to check all items . Basics items are of good quality, love their choices of

Sometimes the things you're looking for may not be in stock visibly and you might have to ask for someone to look for it. Or things like the coffee creamer flavors are all mixed in together so you're going to have to move things around to get what you're looking for. I don't care. I like that it's a smaller store with a limited selection of items so I can't go crazy with my grocery shopping and it has really helped me save money. I also do think it's less expensive than anywhere else in town on almost all items. Not everything but it's nice to have something like instacart to compare between stores. So the only thing I don't like about Aldi is that we recently had a hike in prices but that happened everywhere and it's not done it's going to keep happening, and that occasionally something you were hoping to find won't be in stock any longer. I mean theoretically that could happen literally anywhere you grocery shop, so... I'm not sure anything deserves five stars so I gave it four. Nice job, Aldi. Thank you because I'm a pretty poor person. Thank you.

Google
Great store! Great Prices and Great Employees! I would say I go to Aldi at least once every two weeks getting a lot of food for a cheap affordable cost. Employees always help out to the best ability given circumstances. Store can get busy but there are not many stores! #1 Go to spot for a snack, meal, or even meal prepping. I recommend for anyone on a tight budget!

Yelp
Great store! I really enjoy coming here. This is currently one of the two Lincoln Aldi locations. I'm sure one day they'll grow even more! I like their compact floor plan and reasonable selection. The best parts about shopping here for me are the quality and prices. I feel like I save a lot. I don't need name brand things. I actually enjoy what I find here each shopping trip. I pretty much always get/find everything I came in for. I love that they carry products from all around the world especially Europe since Aldi is a German grocery store. Sometimes I have to wait in line a bit but I prefer that to self-checkouts at other stores. Their workers are very fast, friendly and efficient. Overall I really like and would recommend this location! :)

Yelp
Will not be back only 1 register with someone working it. And the rest are self checkout. I'm not doing your job for you.

Yelp
Yesterday, a friend shopped at the O Street ALDI in Lincoln, NE, loading up an Aldi bag with an assortment of treats and beverages for me. She left the store, bringing them over to me immediately. When she left, I pulled out the cookies and there was a huge hole chewed through the cellophane and paper. Plus half a cookie was eaten. I was horrified!

Yelp
I stopped by this Aldi to do some weekly grocery shopping as I only go to Aldi in Council Bluffs, which is where I live. This Aldi is the same as any other Aldi that you'll visit. They have a decent selection of general items at great prices. The cashier was really nice, per usual at the Aldi's that I've been to.

Yelp
Aldi is a discount grocery store with their own brands. They have a lot of similar stuff to what you already buy like dairy, meats, frozen foods, and produce. At first it is a little strange to pay a quarter for a cart, bring your own bags, sack your own stuff but that's how they keep the prices low. They also have a 100% satisfaction guarantee if you don't like an item, return what is left of it for your money back. Decent selection and worth a visit. It pays to learn your prices per oz of some of the everyday items you buy and compare. I had to doc a star because they do not have any kind of deli and while this store will give you some good prices on some items you buy every day, they do not have everything you might need as a grocery store so you will still need to visit your other stores to complete your shopping needs. They have house brands for most items but also carry popular brands like Coke and Sweet Baby Rays BBQ Sauce etc. Their store brands I have tried seem decent in quality to the brand they are copying. Bring cash. They don't take credit cards but they do take debit and discover.

Yelp
First thing to know is that you will need a quarter if you want to use a cart. Second thing to know is that you will need to bring your own bags and sack your own groceries. Third thing is that this store will quickly become a favorite. They have great prices and great quality food. Most items are their own brands but don't let that deter you from trying them; I have yet to be disappointed. They do not always have the same items in stock, so be prepared for them to possibly not have what you just bought last week but they will have something similar in it's place. Their seasonal "middle aisle" is like an adventure. I love strolling down it slowly, checking out everything that they have in stock. I have bought a griddle pan for my boyfriend and two steps later, picked up a bed rail assist for my mother - very eclectic selection. They have a good selection of gluten free items. Their foods have no certified synthetic colors, added MSG, nor partially hydrogenated oils. I am impressed by this dedication to providing quality food at a discounted price. Also, They started accepting credit cards in March of 2016.

Yelp
Aldi is our go-to store. The prices are excellent. The service is excellent. The staff is knowledgeable, as they train their staff to do all the jobs in the store. While they do not carry a lot of brands, we like the quality of their brands.

Yelp
This is my most shopped store. Bring a quarter for the cart rental, get it back when you return a cart once finished shopping and loading your car. Bring your own bags. They sell them for just a few cents, if you forget, or sometimes there are decent boxes to use. (Usually the boxes are used for display, and so the front and top are cut off.) Just 5 short aisles is the entire store. I love the quick trip. Nope, not every choice of every brand here. They have their own brand, most are good. Some, not so much. I suggest trying one first to see if it's to your taste liking, then either continue to buy or not. For instance, we think the Aldi brand mac n cheese is awful. I love saving $, but not enough for bad taste. The Aldi brand vanilla bean ice cream, we love! Try yourself and choose what your family likes and doesn't. The store is clean, the aisles are wide, and items are easy to see and reach. If you only come to get a good deal. Be sure to comparison shop, and continue to do so. Each trip. Generally, the prices on staples (pasta, sauce, milk, eggs, toilet paper, etc.) are comparable to other store sale prices. Other items here are normally more expensive than Super Saver rotating sales prices- on shredded cheese and meat, for instance. Aldi prices change fairly regularly, so don't get comfortable buying their regular items because you've found a great deal. Sometimes, it's priced great. Then the price seems to creep up until it's the same or even more expensive than other store prices. Still, produce is hit or miss. Great deals, but check it closely for signs of nearing it's time for the compost bin.

Yelp
Aldi is an affordable alternative for buying groceries. The employees are nice and helpful. The only thing I can fault them is that they don't have the biggest variety. :)

Anna H.

Yelp
Love the prices! Easy to get in and out of the store with what you need very quick. Don't forget to bring your own bags and a quarter for a cart.

Yelp
Incredibly rude checkers. At first I thought it was just catching them on a bad day but they consistently are just rude and obnoxious. Although I like the prices I just can't put up with the nasty help.

Yelp
Very disappointed after my recent trip to this Aldi location. The young female cashier working tonight and her associate, Michael, were clearly and loudly rating female customers' looks over their walkie talkies. It is inappropriate to sexually harass female customers in general, and extremely unprofessional to be doing so while checking out my groceries. It was my first time visiting this store after finding out that there was a grocery store so close to my new apartment, and I was really excited to become a regular customer, but I am not comfortable going to a location with such ill-mannered employees. I will not be visiting again, and I recommend that no one else does either.
