As soon as I walked in, I was overwhelmed by how unkempt this location is. This was my first time visiting an Aldi in the Bronx, and I’m truly disappointed. I’ve shopped at Aldi locations outside the Bronx that are clean, well-organized, and stocked with fresh, appealing food. Unfortunately, this store was the complete opposite. The meat section—especially the chicken—looked discolored and unappetizing. Products on the shelves appeared to be tossed carelessly rather than neatly stocked. The bread selection had items just days away from expiration. It gave the impression that presentation and freshness simply aren’t a priority here. Please do better.

Great price on food when shopping for groceries, nice an friendly environment for getting store run always have what you need. The store location the bottom of gun hill parking is available as well buses runs in the area as well too.

Google
Good deals to be found here. We were able to get a shopping cart easily. Staff were able to answer questions efficiently and were kind. As most Aldi stores are operated, the staff are working the register and restocking shelves in between. They seemed to have at least hang a dozen workers getting the store ready for the next day. Checkout was quick, the site wasn't too crowded. I'm sure it I came in the morning more items whittle have been replenished. Since it was the end of the week most sale items listed in the weekly circular were low or out of stock. I like the fact that you can get staples as well as new, interesting finds at the same time.

Google
Great place for reasonable prices with good quality but please check your bill before leaving. They charge for the same items multiple times. Love coming to this store but last time we had to run out of there. The entire place stinks, it smelled like hot garbage.

Google
They have great prices and I have no problem with the food available. This store is wonderful to save money. I’ve been to a few different locations (US and abroad)and the people that work here are very very nice. Just could be a little more organized.

Google
A friend of mine was raving about Aldi. I had only visited a location in Connecticut (in or near Bridgeport). It is a smaller store so I didn’t get the hype. Found this one recently, very close to the highway and next door to an amazing Dollar Tree. The store was well stocked with a good selection of items. It was a little messy but this was on the weekend. The lines were a little long but they were moving. I will revisit in a weekday. Worth a visit.

Google
I used to love this place but they have gone down significantly.. maybe they need more staff and on hands stocking but aldi do better.

Arrived second in a row. Today 8:35am, ask a staff for oranges, he said 10 minutes. I left went back at 10am, Oranges still not put out yet. What gives? Poor Store or poor management?

Yelp
I haven't gone shopping there yet, but I've heard about it is a good place by a family member so can't wait to go see it

Yelp
Buyer Beware ! This ALDI is located in a convenient location where parking is plentiful and prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, I have to give this supermarket a horrible review for it's products freshness. I observed lots of unorganized items, garbage on the floor, broken bags of rice, sugar and flour. Meat products on shelves but the worst was this picture here: rats feasting on bread . Needless to say, I was outta there, empty handed but not before looking and asking for manager and not one staff member helped. I could only imagine what goes on inside at night when market is closed ‍

Yelp
I prepped my food or week at a time, and almost all my groceries come from this location. It is a busy store, yet somehow the staff manages to work quickly and tirelessly, to keep the shelves stocked and the aisles free of boxes or debris. As with all Aldi locations, the cashiers are very efficient. Even the security is helpful when people need carts. One thing they could improve is to empty the garbage at the entrance more often, it is usually overflowing. Still my favorite store!

Yelp
I enjoyed what was my 2nd visit about a year or so apart. The second visit I had more measured expectations. As a result I found the shopping very good . I was not able to walk the entire store by I've since learned they have electric scooters. Eventually I'll go back.

Yelp
Stony point location is stocked in a very confusing way. You really have to look for some items. Prices and quality are really amazing. So it's worth the hunting. nanuet or Monroe stores have more variety so it's worth the trip. But whatever you buy is really priced low.

Yelp
I'll be honest I'm not the biggest purveyor of Aldi - the main reason being that most of the products I like are carried by other grocers. However, the brand has always intrigued me since they're owned by the same company that owns Trader Joe's. Also, they have pretty good prices which at times makes it worth a visit. Before this Aldi came along, I was unaware of the brand. The space it occupies used to be a Waldbaum's which then turned in an A&P. When that company folded, it was briefly a Circuit City before finally turning into an Aldi. Like its cousin TJ's, Aldi does not really carry familiar brands. There are a couple I recognize here and there, but for the most part they were foreign to me (something to note if brands matter to you). The store is always clean and organized when I visit; the space is pretty large but because there are no high aisles the space feels very open. The store is usually well-stocked whenever I visit, and I've never really encountered issues during checkout. Overall, there's really nothing bad about Aldi but there's also nothing too outstanding about it either, hence the 3. This isn't really my go-to because I prefer expanded natural/organic selections and brands from other retailers - but for some solid grocery products you can't go wrong at Aldi.

Victoria V.

Yelp
I always go shopping here. The prices are great, but recently started buying the frozen fish and I found a frozen worm or parasite in the frozen sealed pack. This is so disappointing. I say just be aware of what you're buying please examine even if your already home.pictures are attached.

Yelp
I love Aldi's! This location is normally always stocked, I try to go early to beat the rush because it can get pretty busy. If you've never been to Aldi's, it's an amazing market, very very reasonable prices & their brand comes pretty close to the originals!

Yelp
Aldi, in case you didn't know, is one of europe's leading supermarket chains and the owner of Trader Joe's. So they know about product and positioning. Here the proposition is the same. Deep discount private label products at high quality. The secrets? They sell very few SKU's (that's different brands) and as a result negotiate massive deals with the same producers who fill the shelves of the other players. Also, zero frills. You pack your own , pay for bags (10c for a lifetime bag) and it's a mess sometimes. But the prices. Effortlessly half the price of anywhere else. Like 5 Chiquita bananas for 72c. And the quality? As good as Fairway. Germans shop at Aldi so they can drive Mercs. Get the picture? PS. The gourmet ice cream is as good as Ben & Jerrys, and judging from the packaging, probably IS Ben and Jerrys...

Yelp
This is my go to supermarket in the Bronx. The items they sell are great and inexpensive. They sell Aldi branded as well as mass market items. They always have good dealsnon eggs. If you are going to buy meat you must ho there early. The people who cashier also run the store. Ghey dont seem to have back stock on meat or perishable items. I Believe the vegatables, fruits and meat come in daily. There is an 11 cents charge for standard bags at the Gunhill location. If you dont want to pay for bags it works similar to Costco and Bjs were you can collect boxes to carry your groceries. The carts cost 25 cents and is rufunded to you once you return the cart. The staff are cery friendly and helpful.

Yelp
First time visit suggested by a friend. Nice selection, good prices during inflationary times. Parking is very easy and it's just off the highway. Will go back!

Yelp
The newly redesigned store is a nice upgrade. I like the NYC feel with the decor, there's wallpaper with the 7 train on the wall and another has something about the Bronx specifically. The store feels a bit wider and they now generally have more cashiers working the registers, but lines still pile up. Feels like they stock up now a bit better too, as before the redesign I could never find any salmon, they'd always run out, and even chicken breast would sometimes run out within an hour or two of closing, but seems like I can find those things easier now, although there's times they still run out of things like at the end of the day. I still think they need some self-checkout or express lanes. Would also be nice if they were open till 10 or 11pm also. Still can't beat the price to quality ratio, which is why this place still gets jam packed, and why it's still my go to grocery store in my area
google avatar

Jill U.

Yelp
Great for the prices and even better when they have everything you're looking for in stock. Convenient location in Bronx with a ton of free parking in the public lot. Staff is ok. Some are helpful, some are not. Typical behavior from you adults/teenagers. Most times they have really good prices on fruits and vegetables. They have great prices on meats always. I would recommend you buy multiple of the items you want because the following week 90% of the time they have a completely different variety of items. Also bring your own grocery bags (I highly recommend bringing the reusable ones) as the store does not provide any. Most times they run out. If they do have groceries bag you have to purchase them per bag. I believe its $1.35 but I am not a hundred percent sure as I always bring my own.

Yelp
Nice addition! Amenities: no bathroom. Large space. Accessibility: large parking lot, shared parking lot--Planet Fitness, dollar store, TGIF, Ridgewood bank, Dunkin Donuts, pet supply store. Home Depot is nearby as well as a Chuckie Cheese (avoid). Near Hutchinson River Parkway and I95. Do not make illegal u-turns in area as the police monitor for people trying to avoid traffic and you will get that ticket. It happens a lot but some people still do it. Overall: I don't know why I did not pop in before. I love Trader Joe's for specific brand items and Aldi is a relation to TJ's. As the produce depletes on the shelves it gets restocked. They don't place a ton of this particular perishable item out at a time because it's not placed in a refrigerated area. It's shelving that looks like similar to an old fashioned store. The rest of the items in the store are shelved as normal. Dairy is refrigerated. If it gets messy within the store it gets cleaned up. If you can't find an item you can ask and they will look in the stock area for you. I've never had a problem with rotted food. Tip: bring your own bags and a quarter. They will sell bags to you but why contribute to the plastics already floating around. You can use boxes that they leave around also to bring home your items. Also don't get attached to your shopping cart lol. Stock: some items are great to get and are economical sound. You cannot beat chopped GIANT bag of Kale for 2.99....don't buy non organic Kale EVER...mini rant over. Tons of organic items in store. Imported chocolates are good, salsa great, quinoa super cheap, marina yummy, pastas fantastic, eggs are only .99, super cheap almond milk as well as coconut milk. OMG, scored organic blueberries for .99 a pack but it's normally 1.99...FYI, they go fast. Avocado 3.99 per bag...you get my point. Turkey sausages are pretty good. You will figure out what works and what does not quickly enough. Avoid the seafood. It's coming in from suspect areas or are farmed. I did score snow crab legs that were $10 a bag, 5 large clusters in a bag and they cleared the criteria for me to purchase them. I picked up 10 bags...don't judge I have a deep freezer. I've reduced my visits to both Costco and BJ's significantly and my $900 grocery bill a month is about $250 total for a family of 4. I purchase organic meat from BJ's and Costco, pick up small items from Stop and Shop and Fairway. They also have odd items for dirt cheap. I bought a bare root rose for my garden for 4.99 and a Hydrangea that is also flourishing in my garden for 2.99. That Venus fly trap was an impulse buy for 2.99 but don't judge. My teenager is feeding it flies. Customer Service: no complaints everyone has been super nice. Lastly: some customers are nice, some are brain dead, or just idiots. You find them everywhere. Get past that and arrive early and don't forget to bring your own bag.

Yelp
I really like this store. My family and I love the Trader Joe's franchise and Aldi is another nice alternative to traditional supermarkets. Aldi is different in that they offer seasonal items which is why we first shopped at an Aldi. My mom bought these big insulated bags that keep your food chilled or warm and I really wanted a couple, myself. They have a very quick turnover because she bought hers one or two weeks before and after visiting three locations, we still couldn't find one. So that would be my only tip which is to go early if they have new merch!

Yelp
Reading these reviews have me very confused. Either those giving good reviews are bots or the crack epidemic has hit Yelp reviewers hard. Let me tell you why: 1. There were only two lines open with about 20 people on each line. 2. Freezer section looked freezer burnt and disheveled. 3. Didn't have vegan ice creamor soft mangos and it's mango season The one positive is that there is parking but I ended up leaving because there was no way on God's green earth that I'm waiting 30 minutes on line. Management please Hire more people and cut the foolishness. I've been to other Aldi's and this one sucks.
google avatar

Mark C.

Yelp
Large selection of food and a few other things at a fairly low price compared to Stop & Shop. Enough cashiers most of the time. Most of the food is fresh especially if you get there early. My only complaint is that whenever something is on sale, the quality is pretty bad. Access via Bx26 bus on Allerton Av / Gunther.
google avatar

Jimmy H.

Yelp
Had an encounter with the manager, which was unpleasant. I asked for a price on an item and he answered with such disdain. Poorly managed and ran, need an overhaul of competent managers.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome produce! Affordable organic groceries at a low cost. Love they have so much selection
google avatar

Latrice P.

Yelp
Great store...but walking in there was so much garbage in the cart area. The store had lots of products on the floor. The lights were being turned off as we were on line instead of simply announcing the closing of the store! I thought that was ghetto. Someone was smoking at the entrance and the smoke was entering the store. I wish the manager was present during the later part of the evening before the store was closing for the day‍. I think more personal care should be addressed even in the hood
google avatar

Greg J.

Yelp
It's a place I go to to get quality food at a great price. Unfortunately, the fresh fruit/vegetables section can look a little disheveled after a certain hour, but it's still worth going to if you need certain items. It's not the biggest store, but if you need and of the specific items they sell, you'll probably get it at a much better price. Mainly due to them not focusing on the biggest name brands and no plastic bags. Oh yeah, bring your own bag. They will charge you 0.11 cent for each one of their lovely, higher quality, plastic bags.

Ny M.

Yelp
No longer a bargain. Many of their house brands are nearly as expensive as major, nationally known brands. I've heard from many folks who state that they could have saved money by going to a full service supermarket such as Stop & Shop or Key Food. And don't even bother to go there for the next few weeks as they are closed to refresh the place. It's about time they cleaned up all of the products that have fallen in the fridge and leaked. And yes, as another reviewer stated, there are times where only two registers are open with the lines going all the way down the store aisles.
google avatar

G Sophia B.

Yelp
I am usually a big fan of Aldi - quality products without all the unnecessary fluff. However, this store has some serious management issues. My most recent visit on May 13th felt like I was digging through a dumpster. There were MOLDY tomatoes, completely SQUISHED and wet overripe bananas, a half eaten moldy grapefruit, a ROTTING pear - all put on the shelves for sale!!! This is a matter of food safety! Someone needs to investigate this store! The produce was in such disgusting condition that I was afraid of what I was getting. Please see pictures.

Alan S.

Yelp
Good items at a good price. It's their own brand names, but they are just as good at a better price. Check it out !

Yelp
Finally ALDI has arrived to the Bronx!! As a European living in southern Westchester county I was waiting for it since the first press articles about the new location have appeared in the local papers in late 2010. ALDI is by far the most affordable place to buy food in a time of ridiculously inflated food prices -- particularly in the U.S. For every $100 that I spent at ALDI I 've saved roughly the same amount - that is roughly another $100 in savings - if I had bought that same amount of food at my neighboring A&P, Pathmark, Stop&Shop etc... - regardless whether they have a sale going on or not. ALDI - like Trader Joe's (they even have the same ownership!) - sells no brands - yes that is true but there is nothing to worry, because I know that the ALDI products are actually produced by the very same manufacturers that also make the branded products. This is a scheme of price segmentation in saturated markets that has benefits for ALDI and for the food manufacturers as it opens up new selling opportunities for the food manufacturers in the low price segment without relinquishing the value of their brand. Though ALDI does not comment on that scheme publicly, in Germany the homeland of the ALDI chain you can even buy books ( several ones indeed, from different publishers) that tell you in great detail which ALDI brand corresponds to which well known consumer brand and how the authors have found out about that.
google avatar

Till M.

Yelp
Ppl complaining about Aldi not carrying brand products completely miss the point. Same goes for those complaints about the absence of free plastic bags or them not accepting credit cards. The key to Aldi's success has always been the value of its own products. They don't waste money on ads or nice packaging - that's the deal. Just compare prices and decide for yourself. I haven't seen a gallon of milk for 2.95, a pineapple for 1.49 or 42oz of oatmeal for 1.99 often in this country's food market dominated by carefully built brands. Maybe Aldi won't succeed, but that would be a loss for the US consumer.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE Aldi! Some people complain about it not having name brands but if you knew anything about the company you would know that. Aldi is a no frills supermarket, they don't claim to be. They have great quality food for a very low cost. I absolutely LOVE their selection of healthy foods in their fit and active line. Its very difficult to eat healthy at a low price but aldi makes it possible. Their yogurts are just 39 cents each! Where can you find that this day and age?? And they are great tasting! If you are some one who is hung up on brand names Aldi is not the store for you. Their selection also may be space in comparison to regular super markets, but there is still a lot to choose from. They are a great source for staple products. Also be aware that you have to pay for bags so its wise to bring your own. And you pay for your cart as well so bring a quarter (you will get it back when you return the cart) All in all an excellent place for affordable food! Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Edgar S.

Yelp
Umm...ALDI? Apparently, this place was compared to Fairway by some locals. Are you kidding?!? This "market" is more like the "National Liquidators" of supermarkets. Want Heinz ketchup? Good luck finding it. Want Famous Amos cookies? Try again. ALDI carries brands NO one has ever heard of. To me, it's a bootleg supermarket. Oh yea, be prepared to bring your own bag. They DO NOT bag groceries and they CHARGE FOR BAGS! Wait....WHA?! I give ALDI 6 months before they close shop, just like Circuit City and Duane Reade before them in the same location. A damn shame.

Yelp
My sis and I went shopping and got her favorite coffee ( forget name) they only carry it.. she got me the charlie brown tree for less than $8.00, I got some spring rolls and some nuts... My brother is big on Aldi...... I didn't like a few of the pastas but I am willing to try other brands til I find ones I like!
google avatar

Nicole Z.

Yelp
A lot of people are upset about the no name brand of the products, but honestly, if you're looking not to spend an arm and a leg to feed your family this is the place to go! I find their generic brand to pretty good quality.
google avatar

Dee-Dee S.

Yelp
Wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Whole Foods and I say this all the time! There was a point where I didn't shop for groceries and health food stuff but Whole Foods because I believe in freshness & cleanliness. But Aldi is not only totally affordable!! But the food is so fresh and taste like the quality brands we love. Most of the time we shop where it's convenient and I get it but I'm happy that Aldi is near my neighborhood because I just love their food. Satisfied consumer ....happy customer
google avatar

H L.

Yelp
Firstly, in response to commentary from other reviewers angry about aspects of Aldi, it's clear that some people are not at all aware of this store's business model. Things like destroyed and stolen carts, tons of bags, marketing, staff, costs of operation, and brand name items all contribute to this thing called "overhead". These are costs that are often compensated for by jacked up prices applied to the items purchased by consumers. Aldi does not have flashy advertising, free bags, or staff to bag your items. The bags they DO have cost 5 or 10 cents- unless you want a cooler bag for a little more. PEOPLE ARE CRYING OVER TEN CENT BAGS? Bring your own, Jack! The carts are basically on an honor system. You deposit a quarter to take a cart out and the quarter is returned when you return the cart. Big deal! I'm actually happy I have one less cart to worry about smashing my car because some lazy shopper doesn't have the common sense to put it back in a designated spot. And finally, for those whaling about brand name items- you do understand that brand name and most non brand alike are all coming from the exact same manufacturers, correct? And when you buy many large name foods you are paying for their advertising? If you're not buying organic, you really should not be paying a ton of money for most of these items. Do some research. Aldi was designed to be a place where you can obtain staples and more while saving a great deal of money. This store is organized and clean and the staff are friendly. I don't recommend going here for produce as a top choice but many other things can be found here at a great price. Save some money and don't listen to the whiners who don't understand things like economics and basic business practices that makes Aldi such a great option.
google avatar

April W.

Yelp
I like Aldi save a lot of money , I do not care about name brands , Quality and savings is excellent !!!

Yelp
Yes!! Yes!! This Supermarket is about as reasonably priced as you are going to get. My understanding is that this is a European/ store, that imports its food products-- not sure if they are coming from Germany or where but, definately not the USA. This explains why the products dont have the familiar BRAND names that we are used to here in the states. However, WHO CARES! The products taste almost identical to the ones here, and most of them you can hardly tell a difference-- if any. My dad didnt like the Cheerios, saying they got too soggy, BUT--I disagree, I liked them better! Another girlfriend of mine didnt like it saying that she felt Very uncomfortable with their products because she had thoughts that the Europeans might be trying to poison Americans VIA Aldi, so she didnt want to take a chance...LMFAO....Now if that isnt the craziest, paranoid and quite frankly the dummest shit I have ever heard! Folks come up with all kinds of bullshit not to like something that is not familiar. It appears that their products are far more healthy and Cardiac friendly--judging by the labels. They have an awesome line of Lite-n-Fit products that are fabulous without the fat, and hormones/artificial ingredients that alot of our products in the states contain. Where else can you get Jumbo Shrimp in the same bag you get from Costco---for $7.00 bucks??? I just left there --on a TIGHT-- budget and I got 4 large bags of groceries including a soft plush blanket for $55 bucks!! Thats unheard of in Stop and Shop, Pathmark or any of the others. In addition to food they sell, household products weekly like pots, blankets, containers etc.., and they sell out quickly, so you better jump on those bargains FAST! I adore this store!! It has knocked out all of my local spots and Im not giving it up anytime soon. They do not offer bags just like Costco and BJ's, but you can purchase them for .11cents a bag. So, buy about 10 and after you put away your food, throw them in the trunk for the next trip. Really, its no big deal. Im loving ALDI's, oh yeah, oh yeah!!

Kokolynee S.

Yelp
Aldi is an awesome company. Yes, it takes a while to give up the illusion of the Name Brand. But like previous reviewers have said, it's the same brand, different label. Also, Aldi charges for bags to pass on the savings to their customers in the form of lower food prices. And, FEEL FREE TO BRING YOUR OWN BAGS. Their gourmet line, Grandessa is awesome. They also have the best tasting frozen chicken breasts (6-8 per bag) for about $6.99. Try getting that elsewhere. The money you save there is worth it. Take your savings to the other grocery stores to pick up your specialty items you can't at Aldi. The only thing I wished they carried is Organic Fruits and Veggies. To those saying they won't make it, they already have, DUH. They are well established in the midwest. They just started expanding into the East Coast and already are planning on new locations in NYC. There are over 1,000 stores in the US alone.

Yelp
I am so excited about this new location in the Bronx! Finally :) The first Aldi I went was in Georgia about a year ago and I fell in love. Seriously...pineapples for $1.00 and bananas for .39 cents a pound when everyone else had them for .59 cents.....you cannot beat that. I have 3 cats and its expensive to feed them canned food. The cat food they carry has different flavors even for the pickiest cat for about the same price you would get 9 lives when its on sale. My cats love their brand and I save lots of money. Their canned tuna is dolphin safe and tastes great both the dark and the albacore and the price is really affordable. Anyway I could go on and on about the deals but you should go and see for yourself and don't be afraid to try something new.

Yelp
Sugar is sugar. You can dress it up in a fancy outfit, but it's still sugar. Butter is butter. For staples, there isn't any place better. Why spend extra if you don't have to, unless you have money to throw away.....or want to eat all organic.
google avatar

Naomi K.

Yelp
This is wonderful! I love the aldi's upstate and this is just as good, if not better in terms of organization, stocking, and so on. The staff was relatively nice as well. So affordable. I eat for health so I appreciate their "fit and active" line. I think the food is good quality, as good or better than store brands at pathmark or so on. The best thing for me is that I can ride my bike there.
google avatar

Brandon L.

Yelp
Never have enough cash register employees working. Lines get long. They offer pretty much mostly generic products, but everything is pretty cheap to buy so I come here often. They don't offer free bags and charge you 10 cents each so I suggest bringing your own. Make sure you bring a quarter for the shopping cart as there is no other way to get it unless someone leaves one stranded.

Yelp
I bought a bunch of boxes of crackers - value for the dollar was good, but when I got home and opened all four boxes of different crackers, I ended up tossing them all out - THE AMOUNT OF SALT WAS INCREDIBLE ... i COULDN'T GET AWAY FROM THE OVER BURDENING SALT TASTE, WAY WAY WAY TO MUCH COFFEE, PREPACKAGED 'BRICK' WAS EXCELLENT AND PRICE PER OUNCE WAS FANTASTICK LARGE CANS OF CAT FOOD VERY REASONABLE I bought their brand of corn chips and compared with my favorite, Fritos, these were actually better. I purchased a pre made ranch dip which turned out to be terrible. Lumpy uneven distrubution of seasoning and watery collection on the top ...

Mark L.

Yelp
Pros: very low prices, clean, they let cashiers work while sitting on chairs, selection is pretty good with most of the essentials there. Can't beat a box of donuts for about $2! Cons: need to advertise they are there (found them by accident driving around)
google avatar

Yelp
They sell really delicious chocolate. Different types and flavors. Very reasonable prices and really good. The have a company produce the chocolate only for them. The dark chocolate is the best and I really love the Orange and almond bars as well. The chili dark chocolate is tasty too.

Yelp
The only grocery store ive been to that makes you PAY 7 FUCKING CENT FOR EACH OF YOUR GROCERY BAGS. People was literally walking out the stores appearing as if everything in the cart was stolen. Horrible service off that fact alone. Highly recommend major distributors for food shopping.

Yelp
I'm always surprised how low the total bill is at the checkout. It seems like it's one third or more less than other supermarkets. The selection is limited but what they do have are great bargains. I highly recommend it.

Yelp
For those who complain about Aldi.I am from Europe and Aldi provides quality food at very reasonable prices. Aldi is well known in Europe. Just because you cannot find the brand names you are used, does not mean that the quality of the food is not great. Why do you think you know brand names? Because they spend a lot of money on advertising which is what you, the consumer, pay for.The people in the Aldi store are very polite and extremely helpful. Whenever I want something and it is not on the shelves, they go out of their way to look if they have it. If not they are able to tell what day to come back. If it was possible I would give Aldi 6 Stars or more.

Yelp
Good prices and good products. If you're looking for Big Brand Names you are out of luck. Everything I've bought has been at a good price and good quality. Only complaint I have is on me that I can't carry so much on the train without a cart.

Yelp
I tried my new local Aldi today, with high hopes for a grocery store in the south Bronx that finally had decent items and decent prices. The prices were good. The selection was minimal especially for produce, milk products and meat. There were plenty of chips, sodas, junk food, etc but fruits included a few beat up apples, a few oranges, green bananas and mangled mangoes. I love that they ask customers to bring their own bags or pay .11 a bag there. We all have homes filled to overflowing with plastic bags and we should be re-using them. What will prevent me from returning is the surly, rude, and impolite customer service. I studied not only my cashier but all those working. The cashiers couldn't be convinced to smile or say hello if you paid them double. They slam your purchases into their own carts at the end of the counter, which you then bag yourself - bagging myself is fine, of course. I just prefer that all the produce I just carefully selected because it wasn't destroyed to not now be destroyed in the process of paying for it. I brought my own cart, and when I asked the cashier to put the items into my cart instead of into her cart, you would have thought I was asking for the most insane, unreasonable, ridiculous thing imaginable. The eye rolling and additional slamming of my groceries was enough to convince me that will be my last trip to Aldi. Even when the manager was called to approve my coupon, I was not greeted with any eye contact nor hello, nor was there any kindness in approving my coupon, which simply needed to be scanned. It wasn't a sham, it wasn't a fake, it wasn't me trying to ROB THE SYSTEM, it was a valid coupon issued by Aldi that I was using at Aldi. Good grief.

Yelp
Used to love buying from there until I started noticing my orange juice had green stuff inside of the container... I even drank a small portion of that, and really prayed I didn't get sick. Contacted the supermarket, even though they're right, they weren't able to help me because I didn't have proof of purchase, or the actual container, since I thew it out immediately thinking it would be contaminated with some contagious disease. After that I bought a pack of apples about two weeks ago and had one to eat, and had brownish/blackish specs inside of it... This place needs to inspect the things they bring into this store.. It can definitely cause a safety hazard if they aren't careful! But I learned a lesson. Everything you buy, save the receipt. I figured, since I paid in cash for the items, I didn't need a receipt. But you should always keep yours.
