Dishoom’s Bacon Naan Recipe Copied by Marks and Spencer | Eater London

"Budget supermarket that previously released a caterpillar-shaped cake bearing a close resemblance to a rival’s classic, branding it with a cheeky name and drawing an intellectual-property response; the incident became part of wider public brand banter about copying, with the larger supermarket accusing the budget chain of 'riding on the coat-tails' of its reputation and initiating an IP claim in April." - Adam Coghlan

Always great deals. Fresh produce, clean store with friendly employees. Plenty of parking. Handicap parking too. Shopping carts cost a quarter, you get it back when you return the cart. Bathrooms 🚻 for customers. Just a well run store.

Streamlined shopping experience with really good prices. Everything stocked in the usual places. Avoids customer confusion like finding stuff at Ocean State Job lot.

I am very disappointed with the service at this location. Every time I visit, I receive poor treatment from certain staff members. The tall, blonde girl is consistently rude. When I ask her for help, she refuses and tells me, “I can’t help you,” as if I am asking for money instead of basic assistance. This is extremely unprofessional and makes shopping here very uncomfortable. In addition, there is an older man who also refuses to help. If I simply ask where a product is located or whether it’s in stock, his answer is always dismissive: “I can’t help.” On top of that, the store itself is often poorly managed—shelves are empty, products are not restocked, and the place doesn’t feel clean. Aldi should look into training their staff to treat customers with respect and keep the store stocked and maintained. Right now, this location is far below the standards I expect from Aldi.

This Aldi location has created a new standard for the customer is always right. I asked one of the associates if they had a particular product, because I couldn’t find it. The Aldi associate said “if you can’t find it, we don’t have it.“ I guess the customer is always right. No effort made to even help me. The associate hurried away to do something…

Smaller stores so fewer items but we love their variety and quality. Produce is good to great. Sourdough bread is delicious with just 3 ingredients. We've been very pleased with their brands or cheeses, especially the sharp cheddar. Egg & dairy prices are excellent too. Give Aldi a try, you may come to like it as much as we do ..

This location has some of THE rudest employees I’ve ever encountered. Although this one is closest to my home, I’ll make the drive elsewhere to keep my sanity and peace. You’d think grocery shopping would be a transactional necessity that’s quick and easy but nope. Everyone always seems to have an attitude, the meat section is always a mess, and the fruits always has lots of flies in the summer. Yesterday a young women worker who was on the heavier side physically took my cart and shoved it out of HER way just to restock when all she could’ve said was excuse me. Very simple but instead decided to use force and slam my cart into the shelves. I was completely shocked not to mention scared the poor woman behind me Just terrible atmosphere

While shopping I had to use the restroom. While trying to wash my hands I got a handful of soap just to learn that the faucet doesn't work leaving me with soap covered unclean hands

Come to this location off and on notice that every time I was coming, people were rude staff but I didn't know i was being watched by the west springfield police department and also the massachusetts state police every time that I came, I noticed it a lot but I just continue to shopping and do what I need to do most of the time went through the self checkout , but I didn't know that I was being accused of stealing until I went to the Pittsville hospital for a back injury, and I overheard two nurses talking saying that I stole the socks that I had on. From this particular store now I know that when I was coming, the police were watching, they would always be present, but I didn't know I was being accused of theft. I never took anything from this store and what really confuses me is. Why will they be staking out the place behind a pack of $6 socks that I didn't take When I'm sure there's more important crime that they can be fighting.Sol I came yesterday. The police were there as always when i come so instead of going through self checkout I let the young lady ring my items up. Because I don't want to be accused or no one saying that I'm stealing from this store because I'm not. And I definitely don't want any problem with the west.Springfield, police department or neither the massachusetts state police I've noticed that I'm being watched alot for whatever reason because I am definitely a law, abiding citizen but i do know my name and character has been assassinated throughout this community

Yelp
Now I know where homeless people go when it rains. I've never been to an Aldi in the US, but I saw the commercials. More proof of P.T. Barnum's adage that there is a sucker born every minute. Half empty shelves. The other half fronted and faced, so what was on the shelves didn't match the shelf labels. Not a name brand in the store. For example, yogurts higher in sugar grams than protein grams per serving. Verdict: over-sized bodega with none of the charm. Take the extra 10 minutes and drive to Walmart. Leave Aldi to the WIC mama's and underpass inhabitants.

Yelp
Aldi has great prices, reliably high quality products, and offers a much more efficient shopping experience because they only offer one variety of each product. The ability to get in and out within 5 minutes (usually) was the main reason Aldi became our go-to grocery destination during the pandemic. The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because they have difficulty managing stock (they are often out of staples like half and half, eggs, etc.), and because the store does not offer any signs or guidance to patrons as to how they should form a line when it is crowded (leading to confusion and sometimes unnecessary conflict when people don't realize they are cutting into a line that extends down an aisle).

Yelp
It's definately worth trying for the skeptics out there! I highly recommend Aldi you can't beat their prices and the food is good quality...especially for things like milk, bread, eggs, butter, chips, snacks, cookies, nuts, cereal, baking needs, cheeses, toiletries and other non perishables like soups, stocks, rice & pasta. The fruits & veggies vary on quality so check them out depending on the season, but for the most part they are really good. I don't often buy my meats here, but I do like the organic chicken and have been very satisfied w/ it. Also the organic selection & gluten free throughout the store is quite good and great prices on organics & natural foods. (For those who dont know - Aldi is the sister company of Trader Joe's.) In the end I think I probably save about 30% off my bill over the local stores including Walmart! I go to Aldi first and then get any specific items I may want at Stop & Shop across the parking lot, or my local butcher. I also prefer Aldi over other discounters like Price Rite. Aldi is defiantly worth trying out. Also, dont forget to bring a quarter for the carriage and your own bags - No Worries if u forget - they will give a quarter if u don't have one... and u get it back when u return your cart...and I think the bags are like 7 or 10¢ each if you need to buy some!!

Yelp
Pros: Good prices Quality of products is usually pretty good Cons: Lines halfway across the store Frequently out of stock on many items, can't count on what you need actually being there

Yelp
I just had an apple pie that i was told was from Aldi's. OMG it was the best tasting apple pie i have had in a very long time! I will be definitely stopping into one of your stores (most likely West Springfield) soon!!!

Yelp
Wow! I'm pretty upset with myself that didn't start shopping here till recently. It's great organic food for a very inexpensive price. Bye stop and shop and big y! Also bring a quarter for the shopping cart... You'll get it back when you return the cart! Great idea for cutting back on labor and lazy people who always leave carts in the parking lot! Crazy specials and a lot, I mean a lot of GF options!

Yelp
Really impressed with this aldi location. Tons of snacks, cereals, meats, and even a few organic produce. Affordable prices too. Much lower than the stop and shop across the street.

Yelp
I love aldi's! I save tons of money shopping there and the quality of their products is great! Yes you have to put a quarter in the cart, bring it back and bag your food (complaints I've heard) but I'll do that to save 30-40%!
