A Guide to the Middle Eastern Restaurants in Chicago’s Southwest Suburbs

"Of all the restaurants in Bridgeview, Ozi Corner leans the heaviest into Syrian cuisine. Oozi is a dish found largely in Syria and Jordan: very lightly spiced beef served with peas and rice. Another popular iteration of oozi is encased within bread or pastry and convenient for packing for lunch or picking up at a bakery on your way to work: Oozi Corner’s version is very generous and sturdy, made within the same dough they provide with every order and accompanied with a side of their smooth hummus. The rest of the menu features Syrian classics including grilled kibbeh, several clay-pot stews, along with other dishes like fattoush and kebab. Oozi also has outdoor seating and a drive-thru with a more limited menu." - N.A. Mansour

Tried Al Diwan after a friend recommended it & the food did not disappoint. Tried the Chicken Mandi & Fahsa. The bread I got with my Fahsa wasn't as good as other Yemeni restaurants that have fresh bread. They also included complimentary soup. Otherwise the food was great & service is pretty good. The price was also very reasonable - $35 for two adults and a toddler. The ambiance is on the lower end, it definitely has the hole-in-the-wall vibe.

This WAS one of the best restaurants offering Lamb Mandi. I went there to eat few days back and the shutter was down with a note. Disappointed they shut shop 😌

Love this place...been going here ever since their first week of opening. Arif is great and all the folks who work there. Food is wonderful and their prices are reasonable that there are weeks when I do lunch almost everyday. Their chicken shawarma is better than any other in the area, always FRESH. I see them load a new rotisserie everyday, by late evening it is all gone. Love their chai adani. Their portions are generous and has a very homely feel. I wish them the best and hope they are able to maintain the quality of their food, the reasonable pricing and the homely environment.

This is typical Authentic Yemeni food with hole in the wall feel. Serves you Marek(broth) and chutney while you wait for your meal. Zurbian, grilled chicken and fish were all fire. Brought my family.

Delicious food and friendly service. The food is fairly priced and they give a very generous serving. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend you check this place out. :)

Google
Highly recommended location. Food was freshly prepared and made to order. This place is really good. The spices they used on the meat were perfect and the rice was cooked very well. The only thing I regret was not ordering more of the red spicy sauce!

Yelp
Man!!!!! Incredible... I had the lamb. And my boy had the fish, and thank goodness he allowed me an opportunity to sample it - it will be my choice next visit. The lamb was really good, incredibly tender and juicy, unlike any other I've had. Its a hole in the wall and the good tastes like it... If you don't know, hole in the wall spots deliver the best eating!!!

Yelp
My fav place to eat when in Bridgeview. The service is great, the lamb Mahndi is delicious. $20-30 for a good serving of food is worth it.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The chicken mendi is delicious. Also very afordable we ordered chicken and rice for 3 people which came with side salad, garlic sauce and hot salsa for $19. Hands down the best middle eastern restaurant in the area.
