Aldo's Italian Kitchen

Amazing and delicious! We have ate here multiple times this week, and everything has been so scrumptious. Amazing wait staff, amazing atmosphere and even more amazing food. I can't wait to get back here to eat again soon.

The garlic bread is nothing more than Texas Toast loaded in butter. No dipping sauce or fresh bread like a standard Italian restaurant. My daughter's Alfredo sauce was as runny as water & had no taste. My Pollo alla Aldo’s chicken dish had no hint of white wine, it tasted more like lemon oil (drowning in oil) had no vegetable with the meal or salad, just overcooked noodles and the chicken with a thick piece of dried out ham. When we sat at the table the waitress came over less than enthused and I asked if there were any signature dishes and she gave me a deadpan "No". She was a native Spanish speaker but she could have at least smiled or offered what dish she likes. The restaurant was also cold and I normally run warm. Bad food & bad service and it was not a bargain priced restaurant.

Aldos is a small family owned and operated Italian restaurant with the usual pasta options prepared uniquely from family recipes. The fish and meat options are interesting. We had the 2 specials: Bronzino over lobster ravioli with vodka sauce and rack of lamb with roasted potatoes and asparagus. Both dishes were excellent. The lamb was prepared perfectly with a tasty sauce. The Bronzino was fresh and the lobster ravioli so good. Excellent wines on the menu at a very good price. The service is attentive and friendly and every member of the staff went out of their way to thank us. We will definitely be back.

My family and I stopped here, a while back, earlier this summer, and we were not disappointed at all with this restaurant. The pasta and bread were absolutely fantastic. All three of us ordered different dishes, and they all looked so good that we ended up trying each other’s dishes. This place is tucked in a back corner of Eisenhower Avenue, but if you have a moment to stop by for lunch or dinner, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. I was absolutely blown away with how perfectly done the pasta was. Thank you Aldo’s! I will be back again!

This is a homey italian diner nestled in between office buildings. I ordered rigatoni bolognese. The sauce is so good and portion is just enough. My SO ordered the grilled branzino with side spinach pasta with olive oil. This place will be our next favorite restaurant. 👏👏👍

This is our favorite Italian place in the DMV. The prices are reasonable and the food always comes out with proper flavor and beautiful presentation. The waitresses are super duper nice and even gave us an extra plate of garlic bread. Yes, they give free garlic bread at the beginning and it's outstanding! Last time we went, the main dining room, which is a nice, casual atmosphere with warm lighting, was full, so we had to sit in the back dining room. The back room isn't as nice, which has more white lighting and can be quite cramped between tables. Other than the back dining room, this place is great and we would 100% return and bring friends with us!

Our family had dinner here during our trip to visit Washington, D. C. We loved everything about this place! Thank you for amazing food and service! We wish we could eat at your friendly kitchen more often!

Aldo’s is the quintessential family restaurant; the staff and owners are very friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the food is always fresh and delicious, from their steaks to their pasta. In fact, their desserts are so good, we had Aldo’s cater the desserts for our wedding. The tiramisu is some of the best I’ve ever had, even after we traveled to Italy on our honeymoon and ate a tiramisu every night. The owner, Emanuele, made the process easy and was very helpful and kind when picking up the order. Aldo’s is one of our favorite local spots and it’s definitely the best Italian restaurant in the area.

We can pretty much count on a good dining experience at Aldo's. It's true that once we came in for dinner and were seated but the staff was so swamped we knew it would take too long to be served, so we left. Yet, that was two years ago. However, this week we had over-the-top excellent service. We didn't see the owner this time, but the other times we've been here, the owner is cordial and very engaging with his customers. On our most recent visit we ordered a build-your-own pizza and the tutto di mare. JP noted that the price for the tutto di mare had increased but so had the size of the portion served. This linguini seafood dish was deemed superb by JP. The pizza was pretty good. For toppings, I ordered pepperoni, Italian sausage and mushrooms with mozzarella cheese and a tomato sauce. Though to be honest, I didn't really like the floppy Neopolitan crust nor the flavor of the Italian sausage. We also ordered the garlic bread as a side, even though that was redundant to the complimentary garlic bread they serve. That's okay because their garlic bread is fabulous and I can eat it all day. We didn't go for dessert but were still served triangles of a moist, delicious and rich chocolate chip brownie. Parking close by Aldo's is limited. There are a few reserved slots for Aldo's, but most of the other close-by parking spots are reserved for other businesses, even though they are not being used at dinner time.

Pizza was very good the service was very friendly. Got it to go and it was ready right onntime.

Came here around 7pm, didn't wait too long for a table even though it was a full restaurant. Pretty unique that they turned an old office building into a restaurant, gave it a unique experience that you don't get very often. All the staff were very friendly. We ordered the chicken parm, shrimp scampi, rigatoni bolognese with gluten free pasta, and spinach ravioli with a side Caesar salad. The salad was great, came out in a pretty big size that we could've shared with all four of us. The Chicken parm was really good, sauce has great flavor and was good, and the chicken was a big piece too. The Spinach ravioli; spinach had a really good flavor, cream was delicious and velvety. The Rigatoni bolognese with gluten free pasta; sauce was very flavorful, meat was cooked perfectly, and the pasta was cooked perfectly as well. The Shrimp scampi wasn't very spicy, but had great flavor, and the shrimp and pasta were cooked perfectly as well. We also got the cheesecake as a dessert and it was delicious as well. The garlic bread however, was the main dish for that meal! It was absolutely delicious, it had a great balance of flavors with the garlic and oil and cheese. It had this perfect crunch, and was probably the best garlic bread we've ever eaten! Definitely wish we could come back here on another trip since coming to DC is a spring break trip. We'll be keeping this place on our list when we come back!

Normally good food; however, it feels like it's slipping a bit. They're in a slightly out-of-the-way place, which isn't a problem, and offer free parking. There are tables in and outside, but sometimes outdoor seating makes it hard to see the customers. Service is generally good, and the setting (in and out) is very casual. The last two times the pasta seemed slightly overcooked (definitely not al dente), and flavors were a little bland. On this last trip I had the aglio y olio, which was ok, but was bland and had too much olive oil.

Aldo's Italian kitchen is located in an office park. As soon as you walk up you can smell all of the delicious ingredients coming from the inside of the restaurant. The restaurant has a lunch and dinner menu. I originally planned on trying out the chicken parmigiana sandwich. Since i arrived after the lunch menu stopped I decided to dine in and try the chicken parmigiana dinner I was served a piece of garlic bread. The bread was crispy and I wish there was some olive oil to dip the bread in. The chicken parmigiana came out pretty quickly. I wish the chicken was seasoned a little more but the texture was crispy. The sauce was good. I believe they have daily specials. I overheard a server tell another table. I would definitely come back and try some of the sandwiches.

Nothing too special, casual dining spot with quick service Italian food. I ordered the Godfather, a salami, pepperoni and ham sandwich...bread was soft, but toppings and filling left a little to be desired. Very simple, straightforward Italian shop.

We had an excellent experience Saturday at 4:30 PM. The all meat pizza was fresh and really enjoyed the thin lightly toasted crust. The penne w pasta and grilled chicken was so delicious I ate every piece (no take home from this dish). A bottle of Merlot for $22 tremendous value. And finally the owner and his team friendly and attentive.

Unbelievably friendly staff, and the food is out of this world. Sooooo good!!! Went there 3 nights in a row while on vacation.

Everything we've had from Aldo's is amazing. If you dine in, expect a visit from the owner making sure you're enjoying your meal. He was really kind & friendly, as well as the entire staff. They also have family meals that you can take to go, which helped out so much when we had family visiting from out of town. I was so hungry, and everything looked so good that I forgot to take pictures! I'll definitely be back though, so I'll get them next time.

The staff and ambiance make this place. A cute little hole in the wall place in a business park. Food was average, not bad, authentic, just not a stand out. Desserts were all good, nice wine list, and affordable. But the staff are all supper nice and friendly. Not in a hurry, this is a good place for you. It was packed with families and groups, everyone was having a fun time.

This place looks and feels so cozy run by the owner itself and very welcoming and tried to have rapport with customers. We got pepperoni pizza, lasagna, and garlic bread which was so good! I am all stuffed so I made sure to take out one more garlic bread. This place has so much good stuff in the menu and we are planning to go back and try it.

What started as a quarterly visit became monthly, and now weekly because it's so good and craveable. It's consistent, reasonably priced and delicious. The complimentary garlic bread to start and brownie at the end are such nice touches. The balsamic dressing is the best I have ever tasted. We just love this place and it feels like a second home. Owner and staff are awesome too!

Huge portions of amazing and genuine italian pasta. Two could easily share a dish. FYI all pasta comes with garlic bread. It is so good. Mama Mia!

What a great find! Not on the beaten path. It's actually in a business park off Eisenhower Ave. but worth the visit. High quality food at a reasonable price. The wine bottles are not overpriced making them a great deal. My wife had the Linguine with Clans in a white wine sauce. The clams and pasta were excellent! I had the Chicken Alla Aldo which is my new favorite. Chicken breast with prosciutto and cheese on top in a white wine sauce. I highly recommend this great restaurant.

Food was Fantastic. Although even better than that was how nice and friendly the place was. Feels like a family dine. Was a family dine. The owner/manager made me feel like i was at home. Was taken care of more than i've been before. There was a mistake when ordering and the manager fixed and blessed us without hesitation. This is one of those businesses that deserve recognition and a 30 minute wait! One of my very rare 5 stars.

LOVE! Got takeout tonight, and the food was amazingly good! Loved the garlic bread and the homemade lasagna. Priced very fair. The greeting we got when we walked in was the exact Italian vibe I always want! The owner is a gem! Wish we would've come here sooner! Will be back soon to dine in-person!

TLDR: Deserved more of a 3.5 star rating, but slightly rounding down for overall experience. As other reviewers have noted, definitely use your GPS navigating your way to Aldo's Italian Kitchen, because this place is located in a nondescript office park, within walking distance of a Springhill Suites hotel. As my party of three were making our way through the labyrinth like parking lot, we kept saying aloud, "hmm...are we driving in the correct direction?" Trust the GPS, and turn right when you see the hotel, travel straight for another 2-3 minutes, and you'll see Aldo's up some steps on the right. TIP: There is plenty of covered parking across from Aldo's entrance, but according the restaurant staff, if you park where signs indicate you should not, your car will get towed. The most apropos description of Aldo's decor (both interior and exterior) is "quaint." On more temperate evenings, there is a nice patio for al fresco dining (although the only view is of a parking lot). Walking in, there is a total neighborhood favorite vibe of old fashioned Italian joint, with wooden low tables and chairs, and green tablecloths. And that "neighborhood favorite" vibe is well earned, since even on a Tuesday at 5:45pm, the place was packed. I could tell there were lots of long time customers who knew the servers by name, and even we were roundly serenaded with smiles and "hellos" upon walking in. The other very noticeable thing as you walk in, are the dominant aromas of garlic, butter, and olive oil. The proprietors of Aldo's understand the power of olfactory stimulation, since my appetite was super charged as soon as I sat down. The menu is a greatest hits of Italian fare such as typical appetizers of bruschetta and fried calamari. There are a selection of "gourmet individual" sized pizzas, and other well known dishes such as lasagna, chicken parm, and linguine with clams, to round out the menu. The meal starts off with a round of complimentary garlic bread...which was delicious! Large pieces of Italian bread are given a generous shmear of butter, minced garlic + garlic powder, and then toasted to the point where there is a slight char. Eat piece has a satisfying crunch. Keep in mind, only the first round is free...then after that you need to order the appetizer size. For our entrees, we stuck with the traditional choices of lasagna, Frutti di Mare al Bianco Vino, and the Chicken Marsala. My friend has an allergy to mollusks, so our friendly server gladly substituted those for a few extra shrimps. I tried some of her dish, and we both agreed that the kitchen had the proper cook on the proteins, especially the salmon since it wasn't dry but flavorful and moist. The lasagna was a little less successful. The sauce was overly sweet, and the meat needed some additional seasoning. The mozzarella could've also used a few more minutes in the oven, since portions of it were not melted all the way. My chicken marsala was also "okay." When it comes to pasta dishes, one of the cardinal sins is to NOT drain the noodles properly, since you never want the pasta water to dilute the sauce or make the noodles soggy. Unfortunately, this is exactly what happened with my dish. There was a noticeable pool of pasta water which just detracted from the otherwise tasty marsala wine sauce. The chicken was cooked well, but it was under seasoned. Honestly, all of our dishes required a few shakes from the table salt... So IMHO, Aldo's is a quaint neighborhood Italian spot, but I'm not sure I agree with the current 4.5 star rating. One star for the friendly service; One star for the portion sizes (everyone had leftovers for the next day's lunch), and one star for the value. Dinner for three adults - only entrees and a shared bottle of wine - with tax and tip came out to roughly $130. Not too bad in today's inflationary economy.

I would not order from here again. The sandwich I ordered today had banana peppers on it which I'm allergic to. Curiously, banana peppers aren't listed on the ingredient list of the sandwich, and if it had been, I would have taken them off. Additionlly, there wasn't any vinegar or any type of dressing/spices and the sandwich was hot. It was easily the worst Italian sandwich ive ever had. Even the cannolis were terrible, which I thought was somehow difficult to mess up. Zero flavor and they're clearly not fresh. I don't know how you make a cannoli with chocolate on it flavorless, but this place managed to do it. Really glad I wasted $30 on this place.

You can almost always tell you're going to get great food at an Italian restaurant when you can smell the food from outside! Ambiance - Very cute. Very Italian. I loved the traditional red and white tablecloths. They had both indoor and outdoor seating. Unassuming, but delivered on the food! Food - I was pleasantly surprised. They gave us complimentary garlic bread and small complimentary brownies at the end of our meal. The gnocchi was fantastic, and the calamari was good too. Service - It started very slow after I told the server I needed a couple of minutes to decide what I wanted to drink. After our order was taken though, service was quick and attentive. Overall, I would go back. I'd get the gnocchi again. That sauce is amazing! Rustic and simple.

Stayed in hotel near the restaurant. We usually dine in when we are in the area. This time we were hungry but tired so we placed a takeout order. We got chicken parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana and a Caesar salad. All were very delicious. The restaurant always serves delicious food. Highly recommend!

I came across Aldo's from a TikTok going viral of their Chicken Caesar wrap. When I saw the wrap was made out of pizza dough I had to try it. The restaurant has a large menu and a variety of desserts. The cashier was very friendly and my order came out fast. The kitchen is open so you can see everything being freshly made. The wrap was tasty but a bit messy. It met my expectations and I would recommend trying it. I plan to return and try more menu items.

I uses to like this place when it first opened. I've noticed over time that the owner was there less often. My last order consisted of their lunch time chicken Alfredo. When I called the order in, the lady was confused and said we don't have that as the special for today. I said, it's your lunch time special, and then it clicked. I ordered 2 portions. Went to pick it up. No issues. Once back at work, opened the container and there was a wet mess. The Alfredo sauce was a runny mess, meaning the chef didn't allow for the heavy cream to get thick. The chicken was dry and chewy. More liked boiled chicken and not grilled as advertised. Lastly, as I remember, you used to get a slice of French bread to scoop the sauce, now it's a cheap piece of round whatever bread. Long story short, used to get quality for the price, now you get what you pay for or less. Not going back again. I'd rather pay a few dollars more at Delia's down the street for quality food.

Extraordinary foods. I have eaten there several times. Always on warm weather where I dine outside enjoying the view of the Potomac. The deserts are off the chart.

Food is always great as is the service. This a wonderful served and excellent small but delightful restaurant. This is our go to restaurant for a no hassle but quality evening out! I don't think you can go wrong if you are looking for a quality meal with superb and friendly service!

We started off with the fried mozzarella which was probably the best I've ever had. I had shrimp Alfredo and it was really good. The wife got chicken parm and said that it tasted good, but the chicken was a little soggy. The kids split a chicken Alfredo. They said it was good, but theirs was a little cold. Service overall was good and friendly. The desserts we got to go weren't bad, but nothing special and they were frozen in the middle. We would definitely go back for dinner there or maybe even try the pizza (which looked really good), but I wouldn't bother with dessert. This place is really close and convenient to the SpringHill Suites if you're staying there.

Aldo's Italian Kitchen has all the promise of being a hidden gem. It's tucked away on the bottom of a commercial building in a campus that lacks other food options. The owner is very kind and the tables have red-checkered table clothes. They have lunch deals and good review on Yelp. After visiting with a group of friends on a Friday evening around 7 p.m., we left a little disappointed for two reasons: 1) Service was really bad. We waited a long time for our order to be taken, our drinks were forgotten, and it took forever to get our bill. That said, our server was very nice, but the place wasn't full so we were confused why we were ignored. It took away from the experience. 2) Some of the dishes were overdone with garlic- the complimentary bread sticks and the portabella mushroom pasta. I personally love garlic and enjoyed it, but everyone else at my table didn't love it. Outside of that, the atmosphere is fittingly no-frills and most of the food is great with large portions. The eggplant parmigiana and the chicken parmigiana both come with pasta and the entire dish is tasty. The Caesar salad is legit. And the $7 meatball and pasta dish for kids went over well with my five-year-old. They also have a great wine and dessert list. Everyone in my group wanted to rate this spot a three star, but since I love garlic, I'll give it a four star with the hope service is better when we return.

I saw this place in tik tok and couldn't resist the visit. This chicken Caesar wrap is NOT your normal wrap because the wrap is made out of PIZZA DOUGH! The restaurant is in an office park, but has a very "home-y" feel on the inside. It was jammed packed with customer on a random Thursday afternoon and that was all I needed to see. I have to go back to try more items and everything is freshly made to order.

This food is sooooo good wtf! Italian food is my absolute favorite. I ordered the lasagna and I'm happy that I did! I haven't tasted a lasagna so flavorful in years. They nailed it to perfection! I love sit so much that I came back for it the next day. Unfortunately the restaurant didn't open that day until 4pm and I had to return home so I couldn't get it. I was a little disappointed at the weird opening hours, but I'm guessing it fits the need of the business. I'll be back at the end of the month for a work trip, so I will be back

We found this hole in the wall (or office park) by chance. The food is incredible. Authentic, bold flavors. Massive portions. Owner is extremely friendly and comes to the table. Prices are cheap.

Been here multiple times and have even gotten it catered for my dads birthday party. They were very accommodating and the food feels like authentic Italian food. The owner is also the nicest Italian guy you'll ever meet. Whether we were dining in or catering or doing take out the service and the food always hits - great little hidden gem!

Update: went for lunch today. Service not nearly as good and was actually pretty slow considering only a few patrons. Tried the meatball sub. Meh. Very salty.

Came back to Aldos's for lunch after a few great dinners expecting to try one of the sandwiches until I saw the daily specials. Captivated by the Lobster Ravioli w/shrimp in vodka sauce I decide to go with the raviolis and then I added the seafood soup bit Daily Specials. The soup was amazing with, salmon, shrimp, and vegetables, the Lobster Ravioli and shrimp had a great sauce a simply spectacular. Great service bringing the food and lovely relaxing music. A definte sure thing for a great meal.

Found this restaurant totally by accident. It was hidden but absolutely worth the search. As you walk up to the door you smell garlic and hear a warm welcome from the staff. I watched all the food coming out of the kitchen and never saw a dish come out not at a 100%. The menu was very well laid out and everythingI ate had huge flavors and great portions. Looking forward to going back.

I would visit Virginia again just to come to this restaurant again. I was blown away by the hospitality, quality of food, and overall enjoyable atmosphere. The staff are truly so friendly and accommodating, and the food came out very fast. We got the Spaghetti and Meatballs, Caesar salad, and Gnocchi in Aurora Sauce. Everything tasted absolutely amazing! This is an absolute must add to your trip, not only for the food but for the amazing staff as well.

The garlic bread was good and food was ready quickly, those are the only positives. The gnocchi vodka was beyond awful. The sauce was extremely watery, which was useful as it helped me pick out the small fragmented chicken bones. The chicken tasted terrible and was inedible and needed to be picked out. Furthermore, the Pancetta was not pancetta is actually just ham.

Aldo's Italian Kitchen is tucked away in a corner in Alexandria, VA. We have been visiting Aldo's Kitchen a few times during our stay. It is pretty authentic Italian food. We ordered the pizza and all are pretty tasty. The food is AMAZING, the portions are huge, and the service is like no other. The owner comes by every so often and ensure everyone is doing okay. His welcoming presence will make you feel like family. We just love everything about this place. The desserts are good too. My only small complaint with the desserts is that some are really frozen. At times you'll get a cake slice that is not frozen and easy to cut.

I came here on the recommendation of a good friend and somebody that has also frequented this place and is a trusted foodie:) This restaurant is located in an office building park and it's pretty hidden. Once you turn into the parking lot and go around the circle you'll see a sign that says Italian Kitchen on the building. There's some designated parking in front with signs to direct you. I have to tell you I was excited to try this place for the first time and going to this establishment with a couple of friends that have dined in, recommended to their colleagues and also have picked up orders to go, I knew I was in good hands. So, coming here on a Wednesday around 5:30, is the perfect time to get to this restaurant. We sat in the back of the restaurant and I was told that this was a new addition in the last couple of years. I just kept noticing all the tables being filled up throughout the night and when we left, I would say that they were at 100% capacity. This is truly a good sign and to have this much patronage during the week is amazing. We first started off with the complimentary garlic bread which was brought to our table. As a garlic fan, I loved this mouth-waterinhg crispy, buttery, garlicky bread. Then we ordered two orders of bruschetta which was equally delicious znd also so refreshing and crispy. You'll see in my picture I had to get a close up of the bruschetta. One of the folks in our party actually got the soup of the day which is the white bean soup which was very hearty, flavorful and satisfying. I have to say that I usually order a seafood pasta as my go-to at an Italian restaurant. However, based on a recommendation, I got the rigatoni with ham, pancetta without the peas in a cream sauce. I sprinkled some Parmesan on the top and dove into my dish. I can't describe how good it tasted, all I can say is that you have to come and try it for yourself. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the flavors from the proteins within the dish were on point plus that cream sauce bought it all together. I also got to sample my friends' dishes which were the meatball and spaghetti dish as well as the shrimp scampi. They were just as delicious and flavorful. We ended the night by ordering the cake of the day which was the black forest and the tiramisu. I have to say I enjoyed the Black Forest a little more, but the tiramisu was a great choice as well. I highly recommend this place and the owner, Emmanuel, is such a sweet man who welcomed my friends with open arms. He also loved my Ovechkin Capitals Jersey so in my book any fan gets the ultimate number of stars possible and an endorsement from me! P.S. The restaurant is named for his father:)

This was the best customer service I have had in awhile! We had an urgent need for a food delivery and Emanuele, the owner, personally delivered the food to ensure it got there on time - 2 different times. He was so pleasant and was committed to ensuring the recipient received the order hot and fresh. Then, when he heard about the circumstance, he was so kind and supportive to the recipient, making her emotional. The food was perfect and delicious, and they ate the cannoli's for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The lasagna was perfect comfort food. This is what caring and community is all about. THANK YOU!

I love this place, the food is very delicious, the portions are very good and the owner Emmanuel and all the friendly staff make this place very special and make you want to return.

There are a lot of "Italian" restaurants around. I got spoiled growing up someplace with extraordinary Italian culture and cuisine (Go Birds) and find most Italian spots in the DMV pretty disappointing. Not this place. The pasta was fresh and perfectly cooked. The red sauce was good enough to eat for dessert. Absolute perfection. There's a reason this place is packed. Ignore the people who say the service is slow or indifferent. They can go have fast service at Olive Garden.

We used all those to cater our rehearsal dinner. Very easy to deal with and delicious food. Highly recommend.
