pizza joint specializing in “new york style” thin pizza, the t-rex (pepperoni, sausage and meatballs) is the most popular but the trippy truffle (mushroom sauce, mushrooms, arugula and truffle oil) is my favorite. casual and not pretentious. no designated parking.

On a short trip to Memphis, we stumbled upon this highly-rated pizza restaurant. It didn't disappoint!! Our server Hunter provided excellent service and the T-Rex pizza was loaded with delicious toppings. The meatballs, garlic knots, and mini cannoli were perfect!! You need to check this place out!!!

My family and I visited from out of state for Spring Break and this was the first place we stopped to eat. Chase served us — he was super nice! He took time to converse with us and recommended other places to visit in the city. He also made sure we were good on drink refills and any of our other needs. There was an incident where the kitchen had to remake one of our pies due to an accident on their end. Nonetheless, Chase and the manager (forgot his name — apologies!) addressed the incident with us and let us know they were remaking the pie ASAP. We had the 18” Vodka and Trippy Truffle pies. Both were very good! They cooked the crust perfectly — not too soft, but not too firm. If you prefer a crispier crust, I’d recommend asking for well done. They also sell pies by the slice if you’re looking for a quick bite. We stopped in on a Monday night, but the atmosphere still felt warm and welcoming. I can only imagine how it is on a Friday or Saturday night!

Came here on a work trip at random when I saw it while walking by. Loved the pizza so much I knew I had to come back on my next work trip, and brought a colleague along with. Good selection of local beers as well!

Google
This was by far one of my worst experiences here. The silverware we’re given to me dirty after being wiped by the host. The first order of garlic knots came out burned to a crisp. The second was very dry. The fettuccine had no flavor.. tasted like eggs and cheese. The chicken was dryyyyyy… the midtown location is def my favorite location. I will not be retuning here.

Google
Great Pizza Spot in Memphis – Aldo’s Pizza Pies! Aldo’s Pizza Pies is a fantastic place to grab a delicious pizza in Memphis. The location is excellent, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The pizza is top-notch—fresh ingredients, great crust, and full of flavor. They also have a solid selection of cold beers, perfect for pairing with your meal. One of the best parts is the outdoor seating, where you can sit back, enjoy the atmosphere, and have a great time. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this place is definitely worth checking out. Highly recommended!

Google
Ate at this pizzeria for lunch during a trip to Memphis. They have the typical pizzas you would find at any other pizzeria. They sell by the slice or you can get a whole pizza as well. They have other dishes like pasta, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. It seemed busy due to the lunch crowded but we were seated right away and the service was quick. I ordered the Balboa sandwich which is similar to a cheese steak sandwich. It was good but I would have preferred more toppings and a condiment. Overall, it wasn't a bad spot to eat and I would return.

Google
If pizza can be perfect, this is it. So delicious👍👍 Nice place too with a great location and service. Personally I don't like when venue/owner automatically adds 20% tip in the bill but service was good so it was acceptable in this case. Anyway, Highly recommend to anyone visiting Memphis😍

Google
After a long day of traveling these pies hit the stop. The food was great -- try the meatball pizza! It was all very flavorful and filling. They had a variety of options and decent pricing. The environment was clean, it's in a pretty prime spot with parking not to far from the joint. Would recommend!

Yelp
Hubby loves pizza so of course we love places like this with their cool pizza names and unique pizza choices. You can get two pizzas combined into one as long as they have the same base sauce. We decided to do that and see which of the two we liked better. I liked the chicken one better while hubby liked the meatball one better. We noticed some of the other people's pizzas had cheese that didn't go all the way to the edges so we asked for extra cheese. I liked the Cheech and Bob because it was super unique. I really didn't like the meatball though because to me it had no taste. I even ate that one first because I knew the other one would have stronger flavors. I really like their meatball appetizer and would definitely get that. Also the meatballs were my favorite part of the pizza on the Mr. T-Rex. To Try: Vodka Pie The Trippy Truffle Bring out the Gump White Pizza Love: - Appetizer: Grandma's Meatballs Like: - Pizza: The Memphis - Pizza: Mr. T-Rex - Pizza: Willie Cheech and Bob Ok: - Dessert: Mini Chocolate Chip Cannoli - Pizza: Cheese - Pizza: The Lombardi - Pizza: Pepperoni Disliked: - Appetizer: Hummus - Pizza: The Other Side

Yelp
Aldo's pizza... Really misnomer because Aldo no longer has anything to do with this place, sold it -- gone girl. That said just be prepared for a 40% surcharge on anything you order an eat there or take out. That's right, 40%. They tack on 20% because they say That certain patrons don't tip well, the other 20% is a surcharge for the cooks?? How about pay your employees?? They said that business is so sporadic in the downtown area that this is what they have to do. Wife and I got a couple of drinks and a small pizza (no extras) and the bill was $85 Just beware before you go what they are going to do to ya, we weren't !! HaHa, Aldo's gone anyway so I will never be back, he and his mom always oversaw the food quality. Not now

Yelp
On November 1st, my daughter and I went to the downtown location tonight for our daddy/daughter weekly dinner. From the time we were seated until we unceremoniously left, the service was awful. The "server" assigned to our table took our order and that was the last we saw of her. She avoided our table and I had to call to get her attention to ask for the status of our food since it had been 30 minutes after placing our order. Once our food finally came out, I had to ask for someone to bring the Parmesan cheese when I witnessed other servers bring the cheese with their food. It got so bad that I left my table where my 3 year old child was to ask to speak to a manager. Lisa, the manager, immediately seemed uninterested in what I was saying. It made sense when she said that I was rude to our server who I never saw after our food came back. Not only did she proceed to blame me for all the bad service, she was unwilling to hold her server accountable. At that point, I became upset because she confirmed that my service was bad and didn't seem to care. Lisa said, "I have room full of happy customers". So my little money didn't matter in the grand scheme of things. I live 5 minutes away from Aldo and I've taken my daughter countless times. After my experience, I will never go back. My experience matters and my daughter's experience matters. I will not patronize any establishment that ignores me.

Yelp
The crust. The crust. THE CRUST!! The crust on this pizza is amazing. I honestly could have eaten a pizza sans toppings just so I could get the crust. Our server was very sweet and attentive. He was great. As for the ambiance, well, unless you like to be swarmed by mosquitos, DO NOT SIT OUTSIDE. They literally started swarming. I've never had so many mosquito bites as I have after sitting outside here. On my one ankle alone I had 100. (That isn't an exaggeration. I counted.) Definitely sit inside. We got hummus and 2 pizzas. The hummus was flavorless, so I'd skip that next time. The Button Man pizza was fine, but if you're naming a pizza after a button mushroom, I'd expect there to be more mushrooms on it. Overall, this one was just fine. The pizza with the goat cheese was much better. Basically, aside from the crust, it was just fine.

Jacqueline W.

Yelp
Pizza yum yummy my boys really enjoyed good food friendly staff In this visit a 12 inch cheese pizza with a full and tasty Greek salad onions tomato lettuce olives cucumber and more yummy Chill vibes and low chats here this day that is

Mark L.

Yelp
Automatically 20% gratuity no matter the level of service you receive. We paid it and they had only one waitress for the whole restaurant so it was very slow service. Pizza was fine and salads ok.

Jaimie D.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this after a failed dinner attempt a few streets over. Another happy accident. Self proclaimed as the best pizza in Memphis, they probably aren't too far off. We had the 12" hand tossed pizzas and the crust was exceptional! Awesome flavor and good blend of thin yet bready. The Gina was our favorite (goat cheese!). We were a little disappointed that the "button man" had a sad amount of mushrooms but it was still good. Skip the hummus. They serve it with pizza crust pita dippers which were amazing but the hummus was lacking in flavor and drowned in balsamic glaze. Proportionally it didn't work. Our server was nice. He seemed quite busy which didn't bother us as we were busy chatting away. Attentive and helpful even through the rush. We opted to sit outside which had a lovely street view. We watched the horse drawn carriages go by and enjoyed the twinkling lights up and down the street. BEWARE!!! The mosquitos are awful!!!! Once the sun went all the way down they were out BAD. We all came out covered in bites head to toe. Overall it was a good experience. Pricing was a little high but I suppose to be expected given downtown location.

Yelp
Truly not a "let's go out for pizza" guy.... Except for Aldo's. Usually if I'm craving pizza I'd just order in, but the vibe of Aldo's mixed with the incredible food makes this a great spot. Fantastic place to eat before/after a grizzlies game. Try the garlic knots!

Bri K.

Yelp
This was a cute place, and our server was attentive. The salad was so so with dressing that tasted like Kraft. The pizza was good, but not the best we've ever had. The dough and sauce were very fresh. The nice thing was that they could do half and half pizza. The calzone was new on the menu and needed perfecting. It wasn't cooked all the way and very greasy.

Delois V.

Yelp
I had a wonderful time here at Aldo's. The food is super tasty and fresh. The service is very fast and professional. The ambiance is super cute and chic. 5 stars.

John M.

Yelp
Aldo's Pizza Pies is a great destination for pizza if you are in Memphis, Tennessee and craving this culinary favorite. Pizza is a favorite for many and I have to say that I am pretty particular about my pizza. I grew up in New Jersey and I always took it for granted that New Jersey had great pizza on pretty much every corner. When I moved down south back in 2001, I was both shocked and more than a little dismayed to find that good pizza, not even great pizza, was not available on every corner. In fact, good pizza might not even be found in a town or city. So, when you find good pizza, it is indeed cause for celebration and what better way to celebrate than with a slice of pizza in hand. Aldo's Pizza Pies has a great vibe and is definitely a great place to chill and enjoy some pizza. The staff is friendly and the food is good.

Mariah M.

Yelp
Ordered a 12 inch pepperoni and cheese to go - very good! Loved watching them cook it too since we were taking it home. Crust was sooooo good. Hostess was a gem and made our wait nice since she talked with us. We originally went in for a slice of pizza but not going to lie, looked like they hadn't changed out the pies in hours so we just opted for a whole pizza. Forgot to take pictures!

Ryan R.

Yelp
Food is great. Service is great. Decent tap list. Probably one of our favorite pizza places.

Theresa M.

Yelp
Only had appetizers and drinks and it was really good. Garlic knots awesome. Great beer selselection, average wine selections, meat ball are really good. Grew up in with new york Italian cooking and these are comparable. Service was good and servers are friendly and atteattentive. Would recommend place to anyone coming to Memphis and my sister Lisa say it's her favorite.

Cliff L.

Yelp
The pizza and the garlic knots are always a must before the St. Jude marathon. However, this year there was a bit of a mishap when we ordered online for pick up. When we arrived about an hour later at our appointed time, the order was never sent through to the kitchen. They were busy and mistakes happen. We will be back.

C. Shaun W.

Yelp
What an awesome place to hang out! Great decor and an awesome vibe. Pizza was FANTASTIC!!!! The service was quick fast and in a hurry. We will visit again soon!

Brenna B.

Yelp
Hubby and I recently had date night and ended up here after a Grizz game. When we arrived, it wasn't very busy but soon picked up so I think we arrived right on time. Good amount of seating and the place was clean. Tiffany was our server and she took excellent care of us. As far as food, we skipped appetizers and just ordered two pizzas. I got the 12" "The Memphis" (barbecue sauce, pulled pork, red onion, slaw) and added jalapeños. Hubby did the build your own 12" with pepperoni, mushrooms and green peppers. I wanted to try something different since I usually only eat "traditional" pizza. "The Memphis" was honestly very good to me! I was glad I ordered it and will likely order it again the next time we dine here. I tasted hubby's pizza and it was yummy as well. It was the crust that did it for me. The pizzas were a lot to finish for us, so naturally we had leftovers. The leftovers held up nicely and were still good the next day. Pizzas are a little on the expensive side and 20% gratuity is automatically added to all checks, but it's safe to say we enjoyed ourselves and the food and will likely be back.

Royce N.

Yelp
20% gratuity plus sales tax is absurd! Tiny portions. I could have eaten at Huey's and actually been full for half the price and good service

Lexi K.

Yelp
I got the fettuccine Alfredo and it was quite literally the worst Alfredo I've ever had. I had my boyfriend taste it and he likes everything and he agreed it tasted like sawmill gravy. First time eating here and can't say I'll be back.

Jason H.

Yelp
BE WARNED They add an automatic 20% gratuity plus a 15% service fee to dine in checks!? Pizza is ok - interior is basic but clean.

Ana M.

Yelp
Service Is a bit off on the floor. We've had some really good servers and really bad ones. But the bartenders are 5/5. So leave the kids at home and sit at rhe bar. With that being said this is some of the best pizza I've had in awhile. And they have the best beer selection. It's like a pizza sports bar vibe, and the slices are huge. It's a bit pricey and they do tack at 20 percent gratuity on dine in orders but it's well worth the money. I just wish service was better.

Kevin O.

Yelp
$20.10 gratuity AND $20.10 service fee! We couldn't even find the server for a refill!

Grace B.

Yelp
The garlic knots are good but not amazing, could have more flavor, the pizza is ok, the chicken bbq pizza is the best one here, but I don't think I'll be coming back because it's nothing special. I've had much better pizza.

Taren W.

Yelp
it's not about the money it's the principle. doesn't matter mater time I bought it clearly you see I didn't eat it. I know what's right and to ignore deny someone money back for a burned pizza is not right. Its important that managers take there jobs seriously and understand that the customer is supposed to be satisfied. waitress was told and mgr was told and it was like a oh well. please find better help bc that's not good customer service. No worries I will find another place to get pizza.

Seth R.

Yelp
Do not get it delivered. They use uber. over 45 minutes late and the manager of aldo didn't seem to care...

Josh C.

Yelp
Aldo's is a really great place to watch a game. White Pizza is my acid test for pizza, and Aldo's passes. My server was really friendly. They have a nice outdoor patio perfect for people watching.

Mia L.

Yelp
Walked into Aldo's, loved the service Seated fast Waitress was amazing very amazing fast and service was great Restaurant was very clean and great music Bellini cocktail best I've had in a while Will come back

Holly W.

Yelp
First stop in Memphis! Lured in by good reviews and the different topics offered. Since we were going to have a BBQ dinner, I opted for a slice and shared garlic knots. The garlic knots- served in a set of 4. They are a decent size and the garlic oil glazed on and in the bowl... delicious! The dipping sauce was ok. The pizza- I went with vodka. Never had a vodka sauce pizza before. Reality talk her. The pizza had no flop (Portnoy would appreciate.) It wasn't greasy. Decent size. Great balance of sauce to cheese ratio. Where it flopped- the vodka sauce brought nothing extra to this experience. It didn't take away either. I felt as though I was eating a regular cheese pizza. Disappointed I didn't get hit with that vodka sauce flavor I enjoy so much. Would I eat here again? Yes. Would I get the vodka pizza? No. There are plenty of other option's at Aldo's.

Leticia T.

Yelp
Damn this pizza was good! We had the margherita pizza with pepperoni (they were out of basil). The thin crust, juicy tomato, and spicy pepperoni hit the spot. This was our first time at Aldo's and we will definitely come back. Our waitress was super sweet. She checked on us and brought drink refills as needed.

Catt A.

Yelp
Delicious pizza. I had gluten free and yum! Service was so-so. And a little pricy.

Holly M.

Yelp
Staff is amazing. Prices not bad. Garlic knots had good flavor but were over kneaded. Very dense and a bit chewy. We ordered the 12 inch with pepperoni, sausage and bacon. Plenty for two people. It's decent pizza.

Miriam W.

Yelp
Food- 4/5 Service- 4/5 Ambiance- 4/5 Visiting the area and lots of places were closed. Decent spot in the area. Our waitress was very polite with lots of personality. However, I had an issue with my drink and she couldn't take it back or exchange for another (not her fault) . Garlic knots were a little on the hard side, but still delicious. The vodka pizza was ok. We did a lot with our pizza (vodka with extra sauce - half pepperoni, half chicken) . If you're going to go, this place is probably best for simple cheese and pepperoni pizza. They have a lot of variety but it's better to keep it simple.

Carter W.

Yelp
Really good!! Service was great and the pizza was crispy and tasty! Cool little place

Siobhan D.

Yelp
Truffle mushroom pizza, $19 for a 12 inch pizza, was amazing! But be aware the patio is rather noisy and tonight anyway was smoky, both weed and cigarettes. I was seated next to the alley under a speaker, and between the music, motorcycles, and folks out on Main Street smoking and shouting, it was loud and smoky! But service was really good and the pizza was incredibly delicious! I'd go back for take-out, for sure. Oh, not sure if this is customary, but I didn't get a plate? Ate off a paper towel.

Rebecca R.

Yelp
Great pizza place!! Service spot on. Atmosphere is perfect for a pizza place. I would recommend anyone who loves a great pizza place.

Mark C.

Yelp
Nice place in a nicer section of downtown. 12" pizza with one topping $21. They automatically add 20% tip on dine in and 7% on takeout but when I was there they neglected to mention this. I was only shown the final bill and had to ask before I checked out. People were very nice though.

John S.

Yelp
Food was bland pizza had no flavor Garlic knots were soaked in oil Only saw server once to take order other to bring check Charged auto gratuity and charged me for sauce that came with the garlic knots Do not recommend this place at all Restaurant was not busy at my time of eating there

Tim L.

Yelp
Food is not good. Crust is not crisp. Too doey. Service. Definitely need retraining.

Amy L.

Yelp
Yum! My son and I stopped in while traveling through town and craving pizza, and this place really hit the spot. We shared the meatballs appetizer, a side salad and a white pizza with pepperoni and sausage. Everything was super tasty. The meatballs are served with slices of toasted garlic bread, marinara sauce and arugula, and I really liked the tangy citrus vinaigrette on the salad. Loved the bubbly crust on the pizza and the server brought me a small dish of marinara to dip my crusts in (my son doesn't like sauce). The 12-inch size was more than enough for the two of us to share. All in all, a great meal. Would come here again.

Natalie R.

Yelp
Will not be recommending to anyone!! Service was awful, we didn't even get a refill on our drinks. No one told us about the automatic charges like the $20 service fee and $20 tip added to the check. For five people to eat we had $40 added on to the check in charges alone. As someone who always tips I find it insulting that I didn't have the option. It was our first time there and we ate outside. If they are going to charge these extra fees they need to post signs outside as well.

Lona D.

Yelp
We went to this place for lunch. The restaurant was nice and clean. The waiter was very nice and attentive. My friend ordered the other side pizza and I just got a slice of cheese. Both pizzas tasted very good. To be fair it's kinda hard to mess up a slice of cheese pizza. It was good, no complaints. I would return to this place without a doubt and I would recommend it.

Tanesa H.

Yelp
We found this place on Bring Fido and were thrilled. The pizza was wonderful, including the gluten free crust. The fellow who waited on us was incredibly attentive and even brought our dogs a water bowl. Their outdoor eating area is covered and has large overhead fans. We'd definitely return.

Michaela T.

Yelp
Wow, this place is busy! Our server was friendly but we waited a really long time for food and drinks, even though we arrived early on a Saturday night. My cocktail was spot on and relatively inexpensive. I loved the unique pizza with chicken, jalapeño and mango chutney. I didn't even need to add crushed red pepper - that never happens! It was still good when I ate it cold for lunch in my hotel room the next day!

Phillip B.

Yelp
Got the Lombardi It's ok not super fantastic I was hoping for ., meat balls are bland vegetables raw , if it was cooked longer probably be better , but I'd really just rather have a DiGiorno . Vs $40 and $10 tip for driver .

Mike W.

Yelp
Not a great experience, but the food was pretty good. Unfortunately our waitress forgot to put in our order so we waited nearly an hour for two personal pizzas. She was very apologetic and nice about it, but it definitely hurt the experience. The pizzas were tasty, but the t-rex pizza (essentially a meat lovers) was dripping in grease to the point the cheese and toppings slopped off the crust Definitely will try again next time I'm in memphis, just maybe get something different

Yondela W.

Yelp
Always delicious! A bit pricey but worth it! Every pie we have tried has been amazing! Would definitely recommend. Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Mango chutney, red onions and jalapeños. Sweet & Spicy just perfect!! Taste bud explosion for sure! Midtown location is our go to!

Anne S.

Yelp
We had dinner here last week, and it was great. The location was great. There's a big outdoor patio near trolley tracks, was very cool to sit at. The food was good. We had great service. House salad with citrus vinegret- fantastic, salad dressing was Great! Garlic knots- delicious, marinara sauce was delicious Button pizza-fine We would return.

Lou S.

Yelp
Only thing worse than the customer service is their pie! They take pride in their pies and each pie is checked before it is served?? haha see attached photos for their high standards! Go to Little Italy's!!

Noah C.

Yelp
Went here on new years to enjoy pizza with family got sat and watched others get seated and served before us. Staff were rude and not attentive. Pizza was served 45 minutes after we arrived and definitely not worth the wait. The restaurant was dirty and tables were not clean. Do not recommend.
