Went here for a birthday and wanted to try something new. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t really stand out either. Maybe we’ve just been spoiled by so many great Disney restaurants. Prices were reasonable. We did enjoy the truffle fries. The highlight was definitely the staff friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Great service all around.

Google
Casual lunch with family It was less crowded than dinner time but a small menu I had the ale and compass salad with strawberry salad and grilled chicken added on top. Fabulous!!! My sister had the mushroom and caramelized onion flatbread and that was wonderful. My niece had the steak with poached egg and holandaise sauce

The entrees were incredible and the desserts were even better! We had a big group so we got all of the desserts but the two stand outs were the butter cake and seasonal cobbler. As a group, we loved the flat iron and lemon herb chicken (chicken had a lot of bones so had to work to get it). Port wine was fun to have with dessert too! We were able to use our meal plan here.

Had lunch here today and had a mixed experience. To be honest we went as Disney Annual pass holders get a 40% discount in July so it was a no brainer to give it a try. It’s in the Yacht & Beach Club on the Boardwalk - we made a reservation online about 2 weeks before and it seemed that people turning up without a reservation weren’t that successful in getting a table. The restaurant doesn’t really have much character and decor is very neutral but that’s fine as we were looking at good food primarily. The menu is typically Disney with not a huge choice but there were a number of dishes which attracted our attention. We had the crab cake and chicken wedge salad as starters and both tasted great. For our main dish I had the steak and egg and my wife the fried chicken with waffles - once again we enjoyed the food - steak well cooked to my liking and the fried chicken very crispy. It was essentially poorly timed service which made the overall experience less enjoyable. The starters were brought out 5 minutes apart and this was not taken into account when our main dishes arrived - my wife had just finished her starter but had only just started mine. I just don’t like having 2 plates of food at the same time. I was less than half way through my main and the server was already asking us about dessert. So poor service spoilt a well cooked and tasty meal.

Excellent food and even better service from Robert. He was so attentive and even brought my girls a cool color changing ice cube in their drinks. They loved them! I feel like this place is a hidden gem. We will be back on our next trip to Disney.

Had a fantastic breakfast with fruit/yogurt/breads buffet here today. Atmosphere is wonderful, food was delicious and fancy, and service was top notch. Breakfast with the buffet enhancement and a drink was $28 per adult, $13.50 per child as of this July 2015 posting. This restaurant was on the special summer 40% off this month for annual pass holders, so we thought we'd check it out. Certainly worth the walk over from Epcot to check it out.

Google
Oh man. This place is the place to go for breakfast. They offer a buffet where you get to choose one of there entrees and also a drink from the menu. It’s $28 per person but it does not disappoint. I had the crab cake eggs Benedict as pictured. And it was divine. The poached egg were poached perfectly!! And the crab cake was not a frozen and reheated crab cake. This was the real deal. The fried potatoes had a pile of sautéed and sweetened onions on top and they were sooo good. Also pictured is the steak and eggs. The steak was really soft and tender and was cooked to perfection. And th hollandaise sauce was about as good as I’ve ever tasted. The third picture is the French toast. It was made fresh and very nice and firm. Overall, I can’t wait to be lucky enough to get another reservation for breakfast. But I’m really looking forward to trying ale and compass for dinner. Book way ahead cuz there’s very little available. You’ll understand why after you eat here. A+++

Google
We came for breakfast and got the $28 Continental Enhancement. I had the flatbread with salmon, and my wife had the crab cake benedict. Everything was good nothing I'd specifically say "this was amazing, you have to try it," just standard. The woman who served us was very professional. I forgot her name, but I'll write it down when I remember.

Yelp
OMG! So good. Everything we ordered was FABULOUS!!! The crab bisque was so creamy and flavorful with small chunks of blue crab. The mussels were little cakes with a crostini on top. S

Yelp
I should have trusted my gut and listened. I wanted to like this place but I did not. I'll also never eat here again, which is fine. There's so many dining options in Disneyworld. Ugh. I visited this place two times while I was here. The service was not that great. Maybe it's just me? but I didn't feel comfortable eating here at all. No one was flat out rude, but the energy and vibe was off. I also tried ordering a meal with the order dining on the app. There was an issue with the kids meal where it would not let me add water (which comes with the meal and clearly says it does), even though you could also then buy a separate water. I don't have this issue ordering on the app in CA, not sure why there is so much technical difficulty with this particular restaurant. But it was also a hassle getting what was rightly paid for. Also, the staff in the front had allowed the mom in front of me to order a kids meals to go in person but then changed the rules for others (including me). I don't agree with that at all. If you allow an order for one, allow it for all. She ordered a kid pasta with no sauce just butter (yes I overhead), and then when asked for the same thing because newsflash Disney a lot of kids like that over the sauce options, you're told no?? and you can only order what's available on the menu of which that app doesn't fully work appropriately?. It's insane. I've never been to a place that's so disorganized with the rules and with training their employees to be so wishy washy. Safe to say I had no appetite after that. And I hate the "rules only apply whenever we feel like it" attitude. Not coming back and food is mediocre so I guess it doesn't matter that much either. Not sure how this place stays in business. There are tons of other better restaurants in Disneyworld with worlds of better service. I will say I did appreciate the chocolate waffles, so if you decide to go you might as well try those out.

Yelp
After my last visit to Orlando for work, I was determined to eat only on Disney property this time around too. After some research, I decided to have my first meal at Ale & Compass, located at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. Ale & Compass offers New England comfort food and classic seafood dishes in a coastal-inspired restaurant. As someone who lives on the East Coast, the vibes were definitely there. It was giving New England core. To start, I had the Parker House Rolls and Spreads that comes with Bacon Jam, Pub Cheese, and Citrus Butter. These rolls were so good. It was a lot for just one person, but they were great about bringing me a box and cups to take everything with me. I think my favorite was the pub cheese, followed by the bacon jam. The citrus butter was the least appealing in my opinion, but that's just personal preference. I also had the Wedge Salad with Garlic-Peppercorn Cream, Bacon Lardons, Tomatoes, and Blue Cheese. This salad was quite good and a very large portion. The garlic-peppercorn cream was such a unique flavor for a salad dressing and paired really well with the funky blue cheese crumbles. For my main, I had the New England Seafood Pot Pie with Shrimp, Scallops, Jumbo Lump Crab, Catch of the Day, Baby Vegetables, Brandy-Cream Sauce, and House-baked Crust. I think the way they prepare this pot pie is different than I thought it would be. There's a bottom crust and the pot pie filling is poured on top of the crust. There's no top crust. The filling was decent, but I didn't really get pot pie vibes. I opted out of dessert, as nothing really looked good to me. Service was fine, but I think my solo table was not their priority.

Yelp
Thanks to Shannon we had a fabulous breakfast! She had exceptional guest service and perfect suggestions when we ordered. The $28 enhanced buffet deal is fantastic. You order a full entree and also get the continental buffet. The cheddar cheese biscuits and gravy on the buffet is amazing, that alone is worth the cost. The steak and eggs entree is pretty darn good as the steak is tender and perfectly seasoned. We all enjoyed our entrees and were able to take home the leftovers. Thank you Shannon for making our morning magical! Keep doing what you are doing.

Yelp
It was my first time trying this restaurant and I was really excited to check it out! My friend invited me and I went with my 4yo daughter. The restaurant is located inside Disney's yacht club and I was instantly charmed by the beautiful lobby and relaxing vibe. We were seated right away, and our server was wonderful and friendly and very attentive. As we checked the menu two dishea caught my eyes: the crab cake and the steak and eggs. I decided to go for steak and eggs (medium rare). While the flavor was good, the steak was unfortunately tough and hard to chew, which was dissapointing. The eggs were nicely done, and the dish came with potatoes, beets and cube ham. The kids menu was a nice surprise! It includes a drink, main dish and two sides. My daughter had apple juice, chicken fingers with mac and cheese and chocolate chip cookie ice cream for dessert. She love everything and ate it all! We were able to use the passholder 40% discount which made it a great deal. I'm glad we had the discount because paying full price for a tough steak would've been a letdown. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I love Disney and spending time with friends.

Yelp
Wonderful breakfast for the value at Disney! We all did the $28 deal where you have an entree and beverage (coffee, tea, soda) and access to a small continental buffet. There were lots of great entree options, we chose crab cake Benedict, American breakfast, and steak and egg (huge winner from us with the creamy brown butter hollandaise and perfectly cooked steak). The buffet is a huge bonus with fresh fruits, pastries, cinnamon rolls that were packed with flavor and sweet frosting, and biscuits with sausage gravy. I especially enjoyed having the tiny cup of overnight oats with chocolate chips before my entree arrived! The resort has some construction out front so you park and walk over a bridge, would recommend dropping folks up close if they have mobility challenges. This hotel is beautiful and classy with nautical theming and an elegant flair. Would recommend this breakfast for a family wanting a great value and lots of good food. You can't beat these prices compared to most property dining options. Shout out to an amazing waitress Hieu who gave us the true Disney guest experience. She was exceptional. TIP: Definitely book a reservation if possible so you can ensure to have a spot. Sometimes when the resort has an event it can get crowded. This resort is part of the convention center.

Yelp
Located in the Disney Yacht Club, this restaurant is known for its costal cuisines but I was particularly in the mood for chicken and waffles! I was delighted to say that the chicken and waffles were pretty good, but I am saddened to hear that they no longer sell POG juice at this location (what's POG juice? It's one of those iykyk type of drinks. It basically tastes like Hawaii in a cup). It's a Disney restaurant, so it absolutely met the expectation of quality service, with a nice ambience. Ale and Compass has a more sophisticated look to it, versus some of the more thematic and whimsical restaurants on the Disney property.

Yelp
Ale & Compass was our go-to restaurant for many years for both lunch and dinner. And then they added a great brunch. But we've been underwhelmed the past few years. Another victim of Covid perhaps. Sigh. I'm so disappointed in the Truffle Fries. They are a definite step down from a few years ago when they were arguably the best fries on property. We tried them at Crew's Cup recently, also, and these tasted less of freezer burn with a better texture. We don't plan on ordering them again. Yes, there are lots of other items at Ale & Compass but we always got the fries. I'm happy they brought back the Wedge Salad but the lardons and shrimp are peppery now. Needlessly peppery IMHO as the flavor you want is already in the lardons and shrimp. You get used to your favorite foods tasting the same and change isn't always welcome. Kudos for serving some of the best water on property! No Orlando water here! I'm looking at you, Whispering Canyon. We'll try back for lunch as they used to have excellent Fish n Chips (but only at lunch). Will report back then.

Yelp
This is a review of hidden potential, this venue has all the right parts but the actual performance was a letdown. First the good; Appetizers:the blue crab bisque and the Parker house roll appetizers were fantastic and they competed with the best bisque on property ( the boathouse). The butter/spreads were great especially if you combine the pub cheese and the onion jam. The service: Shannon did a great job with recommending items and actual service. The Mid: seasonal chicken sandwich, seasonal flatbread. Both had good flavor but the flatbread topping would not stay on top of the crust, and the chicken sandwich needed just a hint of spice. The Meh: the fish and chips very uninspired dish, coating was too hard and the filet tasted old. Other: there was a snafu in the kitchen and there was a delay of service of about 25 extra minutes but did not affect our experience.

Yelp
The general consensus is Disney food is really mid... yet expensive (I can't even agree with the latter as most restaurants in NOLA and NY are at this same price point these days... it's just how it is). I'm a proponent of getting out of the parks and over to the resorts to eat when you can (Animal Kingdom is a little of an exception). We ate here for dinner (I believe breakfast may be a buffet, not really my thing). Ale & Compass is located in the Yacht Club resort and the dining room is slightly elegant, with New England nautical theming. Normally not my favorite aesthetic but Disney is always great with providing an enchanting atmosphere. And I appreciate their more sophisticated theming as I'm not super into characters being a big part of everything. That said, the kiddos probably wouldn't love this as much as other restaurants on property. Their plant-based options are limited but I don't need a huge variety when there's a tantalizing option like the corn agnolotti. This is delicious and unlike anything I've had before. It reminded me of a cross between gnudi and ravioli, with a smaller shape. I loved the creamy fennel sauce and the way the corn added a tiny bit of sweetness. I'd say this was one of the better meals I've had on property. There's also a solid salad option and if you're into donuts, there's a vegan flight of them. Our waitress (named Helen, if I recall correctly, originally from Paris) was the best! She told us a really funny story from her early days working at Disney that I won't recount here but suffice to say it was hilarious and I loved that she was so real with us. The cast members really can make your experience even better at Disney.

Yelp
The shrimp & grits picture on yelp had me curious on how it was like so had to book this reservations a few weeks in advance. This was an early breakfast about 745am at the Yacht and Beach Club resort. Located at the Ale and Compass restaurant - They offer al a carte breakfast or a Breakfast Enhancement (buffet) option for $28. This includes 1 entree from the menu, a non refillable drink of choice (juice or soda) and the array of items on the buffet line which is not much mostly pastries (carbs) and fruits. I opted a shrimp and grits entree and orange juice. There is a wait on the food. I took 1 star off due to non refillable drink which was not stated on the menu and also the drink service from the service was slow (water refill). The buffet line had biscuits and gravy, pastries, jams, fruits such as cellophane wrapped apples and pears. Open servings of pineapple, grapes and watermelon with goat cheese or feta and a dressing? I opted for as a request plain sliced watermelon chunks. The mini biscuits was delicious with the mini scoops of butter and fruit jam. The biscuit was tasty- Light and fluffy. The watermelon was ok it was cold but not sweet enough. The entree - Shrimp and Grits - was delicious! Cheese grits served n a large bowl topped with slices of Chorize sausage which I took away and set aside - A corn salsa like sauce with mini corn kernels and stewed tomatoes? This salsa was delicious! The shrimps were about 5 pcs large sized and perfectly cooked! This was a delicious memorable dish. Made reservations tomorrow because I could not stop thinking how delicious the shrimps and grits was! Service could have been better imo - But the food here was delicious - I just wished they refilled the drinks and stop misleading it out from the menu.

Yelp
I would not waste your money at this restaurant for breakfast/lunch. Maybe dinner is better, but the lunch we had was awful. Like to the point where I don't understand how they are getting 5 star reviews. The only thing we ordered that tasted okay was the Ale and Compass salad. The burgers were overdone hockey pucks, the crabcake tasted cheap and fishy, the chicken sandwich was dry, and the rolls were just okay. I don't mean to come down hard on this restaurant, because the chef seemed like an absolute sweetheart. They just need a new menu with better tasting food. Not worth the high price at all. There are plenty of other places you can go for breakfast/lunch on the Boardwalk. Please don't waste your money. None of us left this restaurant feeling very good after we ate.

Yelp
Go here for Breakfast! The CrabCakes Benedict are worth the trip. This is our new breakfast place while in Disney! The service from Arthur was perfect. All Good here for Breakfast!

Yelp
Context: One of my family's favorite places to visit in the Disney Resorts area to load up on a filling breakfast/brunch before we spend our day in the parks or just plan on walking around the resort area taking in all the sights and sounds. You can access this restaurant from numerous resorts that are linked by the skyway system to Epcot and then just walking to the Yacht Club Resort. Food and drink: We especially enjoy this place because of a great menu option found here - the continental buffet add-on. Basically, you pay one price and get a choice of entrée off the menu and access to their continental buffet which has fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy, yogurt with toppings, and an assortment of breakfast breads. The continental line is filling enough but what I love about this menu hack is that you can technically order an entrée that is more expensive than the add-on and pay only the add-on price. Or if you get an entrée that is cheaper, it is usually only a few dollars more and you can get coffee (or another beverage of choice) and additional food for a small mark-up (still cheaper than if you would buy outright). Love these little "hacks", especially when traveling to Disney. The biscuits and gravy on the continental line are some of the best. I always look forward to them. The main menu has a lot of great options to choose from, I like the shrimp and grits since you can get plenty of sweeter stuff off the continental line. My wife usually goes with the breakfast bowl - huge portions of food and it tends to be the most expensive option so we feel so smart using the "hack". Ha. The one thing that wasn't a hit was the latte my wife ordered. It took two tries and still was terribly watery and bland. We gave up on it and went to a Joffries Coffee stand later in the day. Service: Super-fast and efficient Disney service with a smile. You need reservations to get into the place, so book your table early. With the reservation system, getting to your table is a breeze. If you have to wait for a little bit, the hotel is a fun place to explore. Very beautiful property. Price: Prices are Disney prices but cheaper when you utilize the continental breakfast hack. Compared to other sit-down restaurants, this one offers one of the better bangs for your buck at the resort. My consensus: This has become a family staple when we visit Disney World. I basically make sure we get a resort on the skyway so we can visit this place at least once while in Orlando. We have even taken the bus from Disney Springs to enjoy this location at times because even if we are not visiting Disney, it doesn't hurt to experience some of their magic when in Orlando!

Yelp
Great service and great food. The braised short ribs were melt in my mouth delicious. Portion sizes could have been better, but you're paying for Disney. The kids meal was definitely worth it though. Lots of food for the price. The ambiance is a little grey and bleak. Not much to it that shows a lighthouse theme. But the night we went was quiet, so it made for a nice relaxing dinner.

Yelp
Another great breakfast today. Cheeseburger, shrimp grits, French toast with bananas, and a classic eggs and sausage. All were very good. Buffet with oats, yogurt, fruits, biscuits and gravy and many great pastries. Wow zo. Great service and ambiance. Most highly recommended!!

Yelp
I love this place. The new decor (as of 7 years ago) is beautiful and fresh. The food is always solid. I especially love the Buffalo cauliflower and burger. The short rib was also very good. The service is also really good, and what you would expect from a high end Disney hotel. Be sure to grab a drink next door in their small sort of speak easy bar. They have great drinks if you're waiting for your table.

Yelp
We had originally had a different reservation booked for this night at a steakhouse when we decided to pivot plans and try Ale & Compass since admittedly steak is not my jam. The restaurant was lovely and felt really cozy and intimate. It took a while to be seated at our table since apparently there was an unexpected fire drill. My husband still got to order his New York strip steak while I had the pappardelle pasta. Both our entrees were so delicious. And we were able to take our desserts to go which was lovely. I rate our change in reservation choice a 10/10 we would definitely return!

Yelp
This place is located in the Yacht Club resort. It is kind of nice that they have so many dining options (such as this one) at the resort. The place is similar to a ship/nautical theme. The waiters are super attentive. We ordered an Ale & Compass Salad, Short Rib "French Dip" Flatbread, Roasted 'Buffalo-style' Cauliflower, and Chipotle-Barbecue Chicken Flatbread. The Ale & Compass Salad was ok. I felt like it had way too much dressing on it (lemon-balsamic). It was full of interesting vegetables including carrots, beets, and pumpkin seeds. Of interesting, this dish had watercress which is similar to arugula without the distinct taste. The dish also had Sorghum which is a type of grain. Both items, I have never had in a dish before. We also ordered the Roasted 'Buffalo-style' Cauliflower. This was delicious. It felt like it was cauliflower marinaded in buffalo sauce where it was oven fried in a skillet. There were 2 flatbread pizzas we ordered as well. The Chipotle-Barbecue Chicken Flatbread is a must have. It was full of flavor and I loved the bbq chicken. The Short Rib "French Dip" Flatbread was ok. I didn't get the use of the French dip on the flatbread. I felt like it was a bit weird and made the dish really soggy. I loved the crust consistency and thickness on both flatbreads. I hate when flatbreads are too thin.

Yelp
The service is always excellent. Our waitress was amazing; he was so patient, letting us take our time, suggesting us the best options and even customizing the plates and drinks for us The food was delicious.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
Food was decent and took much longer than expected. Reservation was pointless as we were seated 20+ minutes late. For the ridiculous price you pay Disney is starting to lose more and more customer service. Very limited menu as well. I would recommend going elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
Ambiance and service were great, food was just alright. We came for breakfast and it was very expensive for what it was. The food was cooked and not prepared as requested. The server diligently tried to make it right and was very nice but the price was just not worth it for us. Glad to say that we've experienced since it always has such high recommendations but we don't plan on going back.

Yelp
We came here for dinner before our fireworks cruise later that night and it was phenomenal! Our server was Rafa and he did an amazing job and took such great care of us. We were on this Disney trip as a last family trip with my Mamaw after my Papaw passed last year who worked at Disney for almost 50 years. We told Rafa this and he was so great. We started with the rolls which only came with 8 as a doubled order but we had 9 in our party. He brought us an extra 3 rolls a few minutes later as a surprise which was amazing. The rolls themselves were very good and the spreads that came with were equally as good. The table's favorite was the bacon jam but the pub cheese was also very good, the citrus spread I wasn't a huge fan of but it wasn't bad. This review will be a novel if I say how amazing each dish was in it's own way but we all mostly had something different and it was all delicious! Everything had amazing flavor and tasted great. At the end Rafa did an amazing thing for us and brought out a plate of 6 macarons and had a note thanking my Papaw for his years of service at Disney. We all were so thankful and I hope the manager sees this and says something to him because we all greatly appreciated this. The inside is awesome as well and decorated as it would be as a beachy theme if you were on the beach. Hands down it was a great experience and I would definitely come back again.

Yelp
This will go down as my favorite breakfast place in Disney. We went with their Continental Enhancement which included an entree, drink and assorted fruits, pasties and biscuits. It's a great deal and the food was fantastic. Our waiter was friendly, answered questions and made multiple stops to refill our coffees. Tables are spread out nicely, where you don't feel like you're on top of the next table. Enjoyed our time here and will definitely be returning.
google avatar

Francheska O.

Yelp
The decor and open kitchen were nice and elegant. Our server was so knowledgeable and warm and attentive. We started with the bread which was tasty but a little tough around the edges. It comes with three sides. The beer cheese was so good. The bacon jam was also good. There was also a butter which neither of us was a fan of. Next we also got the truffle fries with garlic aioli. These were clearly made in house and fantastic. I got the red wine braised flat iron. It was definitely like braised short rib. It was so tender I only needed a fork to get a bite. Will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Was looking for a Disney brunch very last minute, and managed to get a reservation at ale and compass. It was only a 10 minute walk from Swan & Dolphin to The Yacht Club to get to the restaurant. I can tell why this is rated one of the best brunches on Disney property as they have a hot bar with cinnamon buns, yogurt, danishes, and then you order your entree based off what they provided on the menu. Everything was tasteful and the price wasn't even that bad at $28 per person. A bonus was that the staff was extremely positive and friendly. For this New England style restaurant, I would recommend anyone to go to.

Yelp
Ate at a few different restaurants while at Disney World and Ale and Compass was kind of in the middle. It is a bit more casual, and the prices are reasonable. However, I didn't think that the food was as good as the Yachtsman Steakhouse or Topolino, which were 2 other places we had dinner on the trip. The ambiance and decor was nice, and service was just as great as the other restaurants. The Disney service was in full effect! I had the steak (filet) and it was good, but a bit smaller than I thought it was going to be. The bread appetizer were delicious with the different spread, and was a great start to the meal. It was quite addictive! For dessert, I had the fruit cobbler as it was recommended by the waitress. That was also quite nice and a good size to share amongst a couple people. Def a solid 3.9 stars!

Yelp
I had a delicious breakfast/brunch here while visiting the Boardwalk with friends. I ordered the steak and egg for breakfast and the table split the clams casino and Parker House rolls and spreads. Our server was attentive and helpful when ordering. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the upcoming holidays. This was a great final meal for my visit to Disney!

Yelp
We had a reservation for 3, for my daughter's 20th Birthday and we all were super excited to dine at the Ale & Compass. The place looked amazing and was decorated everywhere we looked. Clean floors, tables and service ware aside from some spotting and stains to the small ware. We arrived early and took in the holiday decorations and we were sat quickly and our server arrived in short order. The appetizers were crab bisque and Parker house rolls with spread, the favorite spread being the bacon jam. My daughter loves crab soup so I was excited to order this for her. It arrived nice and hot but at first taste the soup was a bit muted in flavor, nevertheless, my daughter really enjoyed it. I tried it as well and it could have been turned up a notch in flavor with some crab base or a reduction of the broth when prepared. The Fish and Chips had a delicious crunch and traditional light breading served up with potatoes that were perfectly seasoned and prepared nice and hot. The malt vinegar brought to the table really added a nice touch too. The wedge salad was perfectly cooked and nicely presented but it needed a little more dressing and it would have been nice to have 5-7 shrimp instead of 4. Plating with even numbers is never a good look nor is paying $7 for (4) 21/25 shrimp. The blackening was spot on, it's just that the shrimp looked lost on the plate. Onto the chicken and waffles which were the birthday girls celebration order. The chicken was hot and breaded with a heavy crunch. It should have been a much lighter breading with a touch of cornstarch to allow the juiciness of the chicken with the seasonings shine through. My daughter picked off most of the breading but did not let that take away from the meal as the chicken itself was outstanding. I do suggest they add a cup of whipped butter to the dish going forward as none was provided. To finish out the meal they brought my daughter a Birthday Mickey chocolate ganache bomb that was rich, creamy and oh so decadent. There was impeccable service with quick refills of drinks. We enjoyed the holiday ambiance as well as the atmosphere offered upon arriving for our lunch.

Yelp
Back for lunch again. We each had the Steak and Egg entree. It is a sirloin steak on a bed of diced potatoes and andouille sausage topped with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. It was very tender and full of flavor. We had Butter Cake for dessert. The warm butter cake was topped with chopped strawberries and ice cream. Everything was excellent...ambiance, food, service...all of it!

Yelp
A great restaurant for a relaxing breakfast. The service was outstanding. I had the seasonal pancakes which were lemon ricotta blueberry and a side of bacon. To drink I had the freshly squeezed orange juice. The pancakes were a little sweet with a bite of tartness. Perfectly enjoyable experience. If you have breakfast here make sure you check out the rest of the hotel. They have fantastic alcove for quiet conversation and a nice gift store.

Yelp
Had lunch here yesterday and it has a very nice ambience with good service! Two of us got the cheddar burger and we both liked it a lot, another got the fish and chips and they also enjoyed theirs as well. My only criticism would probably be the limited menu, it does have a very small selection for lunch. But it is definitely a place worth trying if you are in the area!

Yelp
This place is so dark inside. It kinda deepens the mood and not in a good way. You can also get very drunk here and not notice until you walk out of the area into the light. The drinks were very good. I got a spicy pomegranate margarita, it was not spicy. Cost was $17.50 and still very tasty. My cousin got an aperol sprits and then switched to red wine. Both were amazing! Getting the server was a hassle we kept having to wave him down.

Yelp
When we are looking for a nice Disney breakfast before a day at Epcot or Hollywood Studios we often find ourselves at Ale & Compass. Being able to walk to either of the parks after a meal is super convenient and we love both the Yacht and Beach resorts, so it's always nice to explore those too. The menu has a nice mix of food but we often pick the entree with a buffet option which gives us one of the mains, plus a drink, plus the continental style buffet. We have always had great service here, and the food is great. The buffet often has a mix of biscuits, yogurt, fruits, cheese, ham, croissants, cinnamon rolls and similar snacky bits which enhance the experience. Often overlooked, but seldom disappoints!

Yelp
The breakfast at Ale & Compass was pretty amazing. We did the buffet and for the price (considering it's Disney) it's really not bad. Adding the buffet just makes sense if you're getting a coffee...plus that way you get access to fruits, deviled eggs, pastries, oatmeal, etc The shrimp and grits were EXCELLENT! It's on the yacht club side- and it's gorgeous. I wouldn't take rowdy kids here as it's absolutely got more of an upscale, moody, vibe.

Yelp
We have dined at numerous Disney property restaurants and this was our worst experience. We waited over 20 past our reservation for our table. Restaurant was half empty so no clue why the delay. Waited another 10 minutes for waitress to show up. Had to pay for bread service that was supposed to be served warm. Bread was cold. Once we got our order food was not very good. Waitress never checked on us to see how food was. Just brought the bill. Based on pricing not what was expected

Yelp
v\Lovely breakfast buffet at ALE & COMPASS! With the buffet just a few bucks more than the entrees, there is no competition, especially since the buffet includes any entree of your choice! A small but perfect buffet that includes fresh fruits, pasteries and a lovely biscuits and gravy that became my appretizer + dessert!! My DARK CHOCOLATE WAFFLES were sinfully good with the dark cherries atop and weren't so big that it would completely fill you up!! THANKS ALE & COMPASS, the perfect start of the day!!

Yelp
I was invited to join my family for dinner here on our last day of our visit to WDW. Surprised to be able to get a reservation last minute. Restaurant is very subtle and beautiful inside. Our server, Joey, was happy to answer our questions about the menu. I decided to go with the short ribs. The other two decided to go for the steak and seafood pot pie. My ribs were very tender, fall off the bone, over top of mashed potatoes, with carrots alongside. The potatoes were a bit dry, but overall I really enjoyed my meal. The carrots were cooked perfectly. The steak was cooked exactly as requested, and was given a thumbs up. We perused the dessert menu, but were just too full! Next time maybe we'll save room.

Yelp
The food was delicious. The Mahi Mahi was small for 33$ BUT SO WORTH IT. The zucchini was tender and flavorless but added sauces made it worth it. The staff was amazing and nice. Didn't stay around much but was nice. The dining room was pretty but bland. But this I a must do dinner place.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants on Disney property and a hidden gem imo. I've gone a few times in the last two years and it's been equally good each time with one exception. It seems like you usually have to wait for a table, even when you have a reservation. But the lobby is comfortable enough so I don't think it's that big of an inconvenience. We like going to browse the gift shop or sitting outside people watching. Okay so I want to start with the star dish, love of my life, the buffalo cauliflower. Which has VERY SADLY decreased in quality since the first time I went. It doesn't have as much breading, and they added blue cheese. Overall it's just not anywhere near as amazing so we probably won't come back as frequently because that was the highlight of this meal for me. I hope they change it back. Anyway the entrees are also great. And the BREAD SERVICE. We love the beer cheese option for spreads for the bread. It's delightful and has been the decorate of everyone I've come here with. I love the papardelle pasta. It's a solid option with a good amount of protein and a tasty sauce. My husband had the short rib last visit and that was DELICIOUS. Basically you can't go wrong, all entrees and appetizers are delicious and the vibes are great.

Yelp
I'll keep it short and sweet. This was my best meal during my time at Disney. As a foodie, I don't understand why the ratings are trending so low. Service was great and I'm still thinking about that seafood pot pie (and the rolls w/ dip, honestly). Highly recommend.

Yelp
Here is my personal review and opinion on Disneys Ale & Compass. This place is supposed to be "Fancy" but it's a little misleading. The actual setting and ambience is honestly fantastic and that's really the only reason I'm giving it stars. It has a classical, almost gothic, style. I believe the ambience was overall pretty great! The food. Food was just...ok. Went for a breakfast and what I ordered just wasn't that good. I might have to go back to try and get a second opinion. Lastly we have the waiter... Yeah, ok, he wasn't that great. I won't say any names but I couldn't really understand anything he was saying because of his THICK accent. He was very inattentive to us unfortunately. Waiting was kinda pathetic for Disney. Again, I'm not saying all service is bad! It was just that ours was. To sum it all up. I believe there is definitely some better Disney restaurants out there that you should try! I recommend Steakhouse 71 at the Contemporary resort! Awesome breakfast, dinner, and service

Yelp
All of the food was excellent. The seafood pot pie had great flavor, the red wine braised flat iron was tender and not fatty. The rolls were great as were the bacon jam and pub cheese spreads. The drinks were ok, I would just stick to a regular mixed drink or glass of wine next time. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Would certainly return for dinner again!

Yelp
Breakfast here was a 5. The buffet is $23 and includes fruit, biscuits and gravy, sweet breads, jams, etc. Then you get to choose one entree, a coffee, juice or tea all for the set price. It's a true Disney bargain and worth every penny. The food is delicious. Make a reservation as the host/hostess really depend on their tablets on when to seat parties, just like all of Disney is leaning towards. I do have a few words about our Mobile Order we did for dinner. We ordered around 7:45pm and the food was not ready until 8:53pm. The restaurant closes at 9pm. We are staying at the Yacht Club Resort and attempted to call with our phone and the room phone to see what the heck was going on, we could not get the restaurant or someone to get us into that niche of the operation. Finally our app alerted us it was ready and we went to grab it. Far long from when we ordered! We ordered vegan/plant based dishes for dinner after we felt like we ate like garbage at the park. And we barely ate much at HS because we are pretty health conscious... The appetizer we had was a cauliflower "buffalo style" and it was NOT good. It was like cauliflower blanched then thrown in Franks Red Hot sauce. It's served with a side of white-ranch-ish sauce and romaine lettuce. This was just not thought out and I can't imagine that we are the only ones who think it's not good. Come on. This hotel is $500 a night. It needs to be better! Our entree was the plant based protein bowl that had quinoa, sweet potato, broccolini, sausage and some tomato sauce on top. While it was not what I expect from a hotel that costs so much $, it wasn't terrible. The food felt like it was good for me but I still believe the Yacht Club and Disney can do better with their vegetarian selections. We got the vegetarian dessert that was a coconut mango cake, can't remember the exact name. Again, it was just ok. Did I eat it...yes. Disney should just be able to do better for a deluxe hotel asking $500/night.

Yelp
We were greeted & seated by some very friendly hostesses but that's where the good service ended. We sat in Erika's section and after 15 minutes of zero acknowledgement she ran by saying she'll be right back. We never her saw again and had to leave so I can't speak to the food only the lack of service.

Yelp
Best breakfast in Disney World! Reasonably priced and the service is always great! Portions are large. Only issue, iced coffee was watery, no flavor, had to send it back but it was no issue.

Yelp
Came here on a work lunch. Food was nothing special for the price. Ambiance was also only ok. It didn't really have anything notable or exciting. We had a large group and they weren't able to seat us all together ... I don't understand why not. So they sat us a 9, 7 and 4. Oddly split and tables weren't even in very close proximity. Our waitress was an older lady who really seemed off put by asking to modify any of the menu items. I wouldn't come here again if given the choice

Yelp
The food and atmosphere were great! The chicken and waffles exceed my expectations. The savory waffles were good, not great. I prefer the sweet waffles from other Disney restaurants.

Yelp
Such a nice experience! Katelyn was our server and she was super nice and helped us with the highest recommendations on the menu! My wife got the chicken sandwich and loved it! I highly recommend espresso martini and the margarita as well!
