"This Fruitvale warehouse brewery thrives on both sessionable classics as well as fruity sours, hazy feats, and difficult-to-categorize experiments. Ale Industries is currently open daily for curbside pickup and outdoor seating on the patio. You can also pick up pre-ordered tamales, courtesy of La Guerrera’s Kitchen, Friday through Sunday, noon–3 p.m." - Luke Tsai, Janelle Bitker

"One of the East Bay’s oldest breweries, Fruitvale’s Ale Industries feels remarkably relaxed, cozy, and eclectic for its warehouse setting. The taproom is currently closed, but customers can still purchase the brewery’s mix of classic, sessionable beers and those with surprising experiments — hoppy, roasted, creamy, dank, tart, and fruity. Call in for curbside pickup, available noon–7 p.m. daily, or order online for same-day delivery within Oakland." - Luke Tsai, Janelle Bitker

Street parking only. Cozy atmosphere with lots of beers on tap. Love the Arcade games here. Staff are friendly. Dog friendly place. No food is being served here, so bring your own food. Snacks are available for purchase. There were no porters or stouts here.

Big fan of this place, one of the best breweries in the East Bay. They have like a dozen different beers on tap, a nice pool table ($5/hr), and a great couple of dart boards. I've liked every beer here with my favorites being the East Bay IPA and the Uncle Jesse. There's always people here on the weekend and it's a great place to meet up with friends or even to do work during the day while drinking. They also often have visiting food vendors. One of the places that makes me love East Oakland for sure.

Google
Their flagship beers, East Bay IPA and Town Beer kolsch are great. Especially the kolsch. The Cherry Kush is pretty good too. And they typically have some solid rotating/seasonal offerings as well. Also, it seems they have recently made an effort to make the space more comfortable and welcoming. They've rearranged the seating and tables, added more of them, and added a couch as well. Not to mention great place to catch an Oakland Roots away game. And they usually have a good food truck parked outside for games.

Just came here for the first time with hubby for an Yelp Elite Event. I love we have this type of breweries in Oakland! So proud! It was easy to find and very accessible - literally a 5 min walk from Fruitvale BART - YAY!!! Staff is passionate about their Beer and so friendly! Place is really nice and spacious - a great bar with stools and few wooden tables around. Neat and clean bathroom too which is always a plus for me :) Great selections of Beer - so many varieties and such great prices!!! We need to come back to try more off their menu! Highly recommend for Beer Lovahs :) Support local breweries! Spread the Love! Be a real Oaklander :)

Google
Good beer selection, good variety of beer that has something for everyone. Bar snacks like pretzels, chips, etc. Fun, relaxing and open brewery with nice lighting, comfy couches, nice bench seats, darts, pool table, and board games. Friendly people and service, not too noisy, frisbee golf was happening when we went. Srirachelada was nice and had a pleasant heat level.

Google
Nice relaxing place to drink. Not loud, you can have a personal conversation without yelling over "bar chatter". Pool table included $5 per hour. Good Bay Area IPAs!

Google
My new favorite tap room/brewery in the Oakland area. It's right off the freeway, has plenty of parking, several food options nearby and most importantly super good beer! The Cherry Kush is probably my favorite beer ever, so that was probably worth 5 stars on it's own, but the other beers are also quite good. So yeah, go here, get beer.

Sean Edgley

Google
Cool, airy, unassuming brewery in a warehouse space. Great selection of sours. Lager was surprisingly complex. The IPA didn’t pass muster for me. Would go back in the evening with friends and grab food nearby.

Yelp
"Brewery Oasis in Oakland" Wow what a well-kept secret! I generally go to a brewery in San Leandro, but today I came out here to check out this place. Boy am I glad I did! The bartender, Junior, is super friendly and helpful. This location is one of the sites for Harvest Host, an app for for RVers. I had wonderful conversations wirh people from Australia as well as other parts of the country. What a great visit! They have a good selection of beers at reasonable prices. Today I ordered the Town Beer Kolsch--a light, traditional beer. Just what the doctor ordered. There is easy parking out front or just across the street. If you walk around the corner, you can get some Mexican food from Guadalajaras. You can bring the food back into this tap room. So overall, a wonderful place to visit. I intend to come here often. Nice people, good beer, great conversation. What more could you want?

Yelp
Had a wonderful time this past Saturday tasting all the fantastic beers at Ale Industries. This brewery has been on my to visit list for 3 years now, and yup, I've been missing out! The woman pouring us beers was so welcoming and happy to let us try small tastes of several beers. Their cherry sour beer is probably one of the best sours I've ever had. I also loved both the flavors of kolsch they are pouring. The space is huge and I'm truly sad to see them go! Final few days, go check them out if you have a chance!

Yelp
My daughter was craving Tahina which is a to-go place. And today is Monday which means Alameda Island Brewery is closed. So we went to the next closest brewery that allowed outside food. Quality/Quantity - All Falls Brown Ale - My favorite of the bunch, closest to a Red. My only complaint is that it came in a 10oz glass versus a pint. Okay, I get that it is 8.5%, but that means I need two, lol. We also tried the following, none of which can beat Field Works versions: One Hunny'd Years Berliner Weisse Sour Kush Cherry Kush Atmosphere - Cool small local brewery, yet also sold at Costco. Good for you! Indoor heaters, as they keep the garage door open and it is still winter! Cool bar seating, bar top seating, table and lounge seating. Dog friendly. Street parking, but plenty as it was a late Monday night. Open 6 days a week, closed Tuesdays. See Yelp or website for specific hours. Service - 6 stars, the manager was very professional. She is working on bringing back the pre-pandemic promotions, including happy hour. They used to offer tours and have events, not sure if it is available any more. Price - $6 a pint or $16 for a flight. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2014, we have been a long term customer.

Yelp
Beer is good but the female bartender(tatted one) was incredibly rude, not sure if it was because my family was only speaking in Spanish or what but made faces and was rude. When my baby started to cry she obnoxiously made gestures and turned music really high (more than a little bit) there was only one other person at the bar and we where sitting on the tables so we weren't even bothering anyone. On the other note the male bartender was super cool and if it weren't for the other lady we would've keep coming back.

Ian A.

Yelp
A nice quiet spot for enjoying a pint of delicious local beer. The brewery is also doing their part for the environment by using bioenergy to fuel their brewing operation. Bummer that the state of affairs in Oakland is forcing them to close and unfortunately that also meant no food options other than chips. The bartender was super friendly and explained the local art that was on display to us. I appreciated them brewing the variety of Town Beers that would benefit local charities. I hope they are able to find a good home for their barn cats. I'm looking forward to trying the 4-packs I took home!

Yelp
This local brewery is the definition of a hidden gem! Ale Industries is the perfect spot to grab a beer after work. Park on the street and stroll in through the their giant roll up entry way, order drinks at the bar and grab a seat! There's bike parking too :) There are games in the back, (hit up that pinball machine!), local watch parties, they support other local businesses, have gender neutral bathrooms, and the friendliest staff! Get a growler and you can bring it back to refill it for a great price. It's got a local bar feel with a modern aesthetic. Free wifi, private tastings of soon-to-be-released beers, and tvs for the sports fans out there. Check it out! It's a must visit.

Monic R.

Yelp
The staff here is great! TRY THE TEA BEER- we don't drink a lot but bought a 4 pack to take home. LOVE that this is a Covered brewery where dogs are allowed inside (for when it rains) and beers are $5 when it rains! We ordered food from willies (nice guy!! Next door and he delivered it to us). The area outside was pretty nice for the area, this place is tucked into a clean area with parking right in front.

Jonny T.

Yelp
I was just here on Friday for our staff party, and it was so much fun! Casey took great care of us and really made sure we had everything we needed for our night to be a great outing! If you're looking for some great beer and a fun chill environment for your next work outing, then look no further than Ale Industries!

Edwin R.

Yelp
I really like this place a lot. Came by to pickup my East Bay IPA for our Yelpie 2020. Can't wait when things stabilizes so I can come back and chill inside with a nice cold beer while partaking on trivia night, chow down some local snack, and chillin with friends. I also would like to try out their beer sampling which from the photos here, they all looked really refreshing especially that Pineapple Express. That sounded interesting. Service was great from the nice guy, plus side is there are street parking right up front. Cheers!

Yelp
What can I say?! That ale is pretty damn nice! I've actually had this brewery bookmarked for a hot minute, but just recently did a pickup order from here for the first time a few days ago. The verdict?! The beer is actually quite tasty. And mind you; this is coming from a gal who primarily drinks vino. Stopped by yesterday to pick up some cans that I ordered online, and the process was pretty easy. Unfortunately the Bay Area is on a shelter-in-place order, so I had to take these babies to-go. I've seen pictures of their spacious taproom when it's open to the public, and it looks so fun and comfortable. Right now Ale is selling cans of beer and also filling growlers. I'm still developing my palate when it comes to the beer game, but I've always been more into the citrusy, fruity, and wheaty kind of beers (probably because it tends to have less hoppiness). Decided on their Family Reunion wheat ale and their Golden State of Mind citrus beer. The Golden State of Mind actually ended up being the favorite of the two. The flavors were very mellow but still citrusy and low on the hops profile which is just how I like it. It had a nice orangey flavor with a beautiful wheaty undertone. I would definitely get this again. The Family Reunion was also quite tasty, but I found it to be a lot stronger in taste than the Golden State of Mind. From the description, I assumed that I would like the Family Reunion better, but I actually much preferred the Golden State of Mind. I actually saw a couple of sour beers listed on their draft list which is more my style (love me some sours!), but I didn't have a growler so I didn't get any of them. Would definitely like to give those try on a future visit. I did run into a small issue with them accidentally charging me for shipping when I opted for in-store pickup. Luckily, they were able to resolve this issue super quickly and they credited my account back for the shipping charge. I guess it was a small glitch on their online ordering system. But my beer was ready for pickup when I arrived at their facility. Aside from that, I did like what I tried here. Looking forward to coming back and dabbling in some of their yummy sounding sours and fruit beers.

Yelp
Went to the Fruitvale neighborhood to pick up a four pack for the Yelpies event. Located in a warehouse building you enter through an open garage door to get your order. The place is super clean and looks well organized, a very cool micro brewery. Lots of variety to choose from but I got the East Bay IPA. Crisp and fruity it was very refreshing, albeit a little on the bitter side. Great to see this business survive hard times and hope they thrive until times are better. We need these small businesses! I will be back GO!

Yelp
Brewery visit #117! Ale is in a heavily industrial area. The parking wasn't great when I arrived at just before 4pm, but I expect as other businesses nearby close the parking would ease. Ale had a very cool and relaxed atmosphere, and was very welcoming. There weren't many people in the place but the staff took care of me, even letting me try one of their pasteurized Cherry Kush's, which was kind of an experiment. Ale had eleven beers on tap so I covered all of them for ya. I'm a giver! Thank me with a beer. Golden State of Mind is a California tea beer. A light golden brew but "steeped with coriander, chamomile, and orange peel". I usually do not care for things like this but this worked. Light flavors added by the additions, which were not overpowering. Cherry Kush is apparently the same recipe as Golden State of Mind but with cherry added. It smelled like fresh cherries and gave a nice sweet cherry finish. This is another winner for me! Town Beer is a Kolsch ale. This was a nice beer but after the Cherry Kush I just couldn't get excited about it. Nothing wrong with it at all, I just wanted more cherries. Uncle Jesse Session IPA. Try his one had a nice light hop aroma and flavor. Cascade is not my favorite hip as the pine character doesn't appeal to me too much, but this wasn't like chewing on pine needles. Don't ask me how I know that, it's a story for another time. Yes, there was whiskey involved... East Bay IPA is brewed with simcoe, citra, and mosaic hops. Mosaic is also not my favorite but citra and simcoe work for me. I still got the mosaic flavor but this was a good IPA. The hop flavor just was not my preference. Fruitvale Grind is a Kolsch with cold brew coffee added. The coffee is from Red Bay right next door to Ale. This was a lighter beer with a nice roasty coffee flavor to it. This fit with the other beers I have tried so far in that the flavors were not overpowering. SWPFTD would like this one. Our local hangout had a golden coffee stout that we really enjoyed. This is not the same by any measure but made me think of it. Don't judge, my mind works in mysterious ways... Annie Apricot Oakley! Yeehaw! A sour with apricots and the aroma could have been pure apricot juice. The flavor was definitely apricot and very, well, sour. I do love a sour beer. This was almost too much sour for me. The flavors were amazing though! The Contact IPA is a juicy IPA with Amarillo hops. Very light on the nose but a very nice consistent hop flavor throughout. Tigers Golden IPA definitely had a light hop aroma. The flavor was definitely a bit piney and as I already mentioned I'm not a big fan of piney beers. Bad memories... Arecibo IPA, a juicy IPA with citra. This definitely worked for me. From the aroma, all the way through the juicy, tropical notes in the flavor. If I were local this would be one of my go to beers. Last was the Sour Kush. The same beer I enjoyed earlier but now as a sour. Drumroll please! The aroma was a cross between cherry and apple pie for me. Definitely more cherry than apple but still it was reminiscent of apple pie. This was a really good sour. After all of those beers I decided to revisit...the Cherry Kush. I also met the Cherry Kush Queen while I was there. Hello Renee! Ale Industries will definitely be a stop for me when I'm back in the area. Ale Industries is serving up solid beer, and while they are brewing up some non-traditional beers even those are tasty and well done. I didn't get a chance to ask him but one of the gents behind the bar, Casey I overheard his name was, seemed like he might be the owner. Very nice and friendly. Based on the beers and the people I highly recommend Ale Industries!

Allie L.

Yelp
This brewery is worth the trek to East Oakland. They make unique beers in all categories, including tea, coffee, and tepache mixed into their brews. As a sour lover, our favorite was the barrel aged Peche sour, which was legit sour in the most amazing way possible. They also have a great deal where you can buy and beer and get one of their sweet glasses all for $10. Naturally, we got two and can't wait to enjoy more beer out of these bad boys. Thanks for the hospitality, AI!

paul m.

Yelp
sad to say Ale Industries is closing... so much history is going away ............ special brews available on tap or in cans.

Robert R.

Yelp
I went here to pick beverages for the Elite Yelpies before the holidays. I had a schedule conflict and couldn't get the beer at the regular time. I had reached out to the ever so helpful Cm Emma, and she told me to email the general email at info@aleindustries.com. Jonathan has reached out to me and said I could pick it up the next day. I had spoken with Jonathan when I picked up my order, and he was passionate about Beer and seemed very friendly. I will definitely go back to re stock my Beer for next time when I have a Party or BBq.

Molly M.

Yelp
delicious beer - well-informed staff.. can't believe its closing because of the crime. my favorite beer - the east bay ipa - worth trying to find a pack before it's all gone.

Veronica P.

Yelp
Covid Times, Covid Review. Came in with the Mr. We happen to come on a day there was a "rally" to encourage folks to vote & register. There was live music a few spots over and it was great to listen to. Had to buy food, like most places and they had tamales on the menu. Now, we aren't really too big on tamales (other than homemade!) but they were very good and savory. Had a couple pints and it was great to get a glass and have a place to sit (designated seating area across the street) Beer was good - like always. Will definitely drop by again.

Derek N.

Yelp
Thanks for supporting Bay Area metal, this time, Heathen! Cheers everyone and cant wait to come back once this "Covid" is over!

Paul E.

Yelp
It's been a minute since I last visited Fruitvales Jewel, Ale (masterfully brewed) Industries and thankfully they've battled the pandemic and are still with us. If you've never read one of my reviews, beer with me. Tamales and beer? Absolutely!!! 3 decisions on how you want your roadie? Genuis! The stalwarts remain on the menu so I packed a crowler (correct me in terminology 32 oz can) of Town Beer and decided on the Fruitvale Grind as my 2nd roadie. Bad, bad, bad decision! My cheap ass should have gone BIG and ordered growlers. Now I'm home weeping. The 2 roadies are gone but not my thirst for Ale Industries. If by any chance you've made it this far into my review and live in the East Bay, I ask you to schedule Ale Industries for your next foray. They need our continued support and WE cannot afford to lose their presence. To everyone at Ale Industries, I raise my empty glass to you!

Anthony T.

Yelp
Found this gem as usual in one of my favorite cities. Oakland! Locate just off of the 880 and Fruitvale exit. After a great dinner in Alameda me and my coworker ventured over here to try their selection of brews. It was easy to find and has a great appearance as you arrive. It's wonderful to see the barrels as you go in. The place isn't too big. It's bar area is small but adequate with a pool table next to it. We were greeted by a wonderful young lady named Sara. Who gladly took or drink orders. The selection is really nice. I had the Beast Oakland which was a wonderful choice. The place was pretty empty. But we had a great conversation with the employees and one of the brew masters that was still there. Ale Industries is a great place to hang out at and I will be back!

Al L.

Yelp
I enjoy craft beers and am amazed of all the craft breweries that have sprung up in the Bay Area. As one of the partners for The Yelpies 2020, I saw that they had an Imperial Stout, so I came by to pick up my beer for the event. Not being really familiar with Ale Industries, they specialize in craft beers, barrel aged, sour beer, spontaneously fermented and IPAs made in Oakland. When I arrived, I didn't realize that Ale was located about two blocks away from the Fruitvale BART station, which I frequent when I need to take BART. It's next door to artisan coffee roaster, Red Bay. Parking was available directly across the street. Having ordered online, I presented my order slip and the worker pulled up my order on the system and handed me my four pack of Succubus Imperial Stout. I love stouts and porters and the Succumbus was a delicious. It was dark and heavy, yet very smooth with notes of coffee and barley. I'm glad I have found a local craft brewery close to home and will come back in the future when I can try their other offerings in their taproom. I enjoyed the Succubus!

Alexandra J.

Yelp
I would definitely return to this brewery if I was in the area. I tried three of their beers and enjoyed all of them. They have a pool table ($5 for an hour I believe), four pinball machines, and board games. There were surprisingly many children in here, which I thought was odd and a bit off-putting. And people were eating food although I don't think they serve food here. Anyway, they could definitely invest in some curtains for the huge windows in front which blind you as you're sitting near the pool table when the sun's setting. Also, maybe crack down on the awkward couple fornicating on the couch beside us. Nobody wants to see that, especially when there are (for some reason in an alcohol-serving establishment) small children present. I definitely want to come back for a growler next time I'm in Oakland. Good beer, keep it up!

Yelp
Got invited for an after-work drinks. The place is out of the way in industrial East Oakland, beside the 880. It's an industrial warehouse, high ceilings with plenty of seating areas, a beer bar and section with 8 pinball machines. No heffeweisan, but plenty of beer options on tap including a bitter coffee beer and some cherry beer that's assertive cherry but still pretty pretty good. It was a Weds evening, plenty of people but not crowded and no trouble finding parking or a good place to sit. The bartended/ beertender was smiley, friendly and accommodating, offered to let me try a few beers before deciding. Will def go back again.

Rob W.

Yelp
Casey & Caleb were both great guys. My wife and I stopped by for the evening and had a great tasting flight. Friendly atmosphere, great beer, pinball in the back, go get yourself a brew, plenty to carry out too!

Misha T.

Yelp
Pretty neat brewery! I liked both beers I had. The golden state of mind was pretty clean and the 3rd hop from the sun was decidedly dank. I also have great respect for their snack selection that included dried squid (a popular drinking food across much of asia), fried crickets, various chips and nuts, and jerky. I'd wager to say there'd be something for almost every palette. As I was leaving a band started to play and I suspect this would be a great spot for a friday night. I wonder if you can bring food inside. The guadalejara truck nearby is pretty popular and I'd be shocked if it wasn't delicious (on that subject, I'll let ya'll know soon).

Chelsey C.

Yelp
First off, the service was top notch. Someone named Caleb was helping us a d let us try multiple beers. He was really knowledgable and helped us find some great, unique beers. He also kept the brewery open a few extra minutes to let our party finish the card game we started! For beers: If you like sours there are so many to try! My favorite was the tropical adventure and the cherry kush. Almost all the beers are available in canned 4 packs too! I really loved the laid back vibe and open concept. It's located in a converted warehouse looking place. All the tables were socially distanced. There's some local art for sale too! Definitely worth a stop.

Grant C.

Yelp
I must say that at first taste I wasn't the biggest fan of Ale Industries because I'm not the biggest fan of fruit flavored beers. Now that I've gotten over my beer purist snobbery and tried the rest of Ale Industries non-fruit beers, I am a big fan. I must say that the apricot beer is excellent. I'm a big fan of their IPAs. The imperial stout is fantastic. The space is super cool when we can go drink inside safely again.

Kafilat Y.

Yelp
Ale Industries is a fun taproom in the heart of Fruitvale. Super fun place to chill with a group of friends or even a date night. In addition to their standard beer selections (most made in house!), they have a rotating menu.

Richard K.

Yelp
Ale Industries was founded in 2009 in Concord, but in 2013 they moved to a vacant warehouse in Oakland within walking distance of the infamous Fruitvale BART Station. Seems like the rare thing to do nowadays since everyone seems to be moving out of Oakland instead of investing in it (e.g. Raiders to Las Vegas, Warriors to San Francisco). Regardless, it turned out to be a good thing for me since I live on the east side of the Caldecott Tunnel, and had they stayed in Concord, I'd have an even bigger beer belly. Also, being in Oakland, the tasting room is a lot cooler during the summer months... and with the partners of Linden Street Brewery breaking up, Ale Industries (AI) is officially the oldest brewery in Oakland! Stopped by AI on Independence Day because the wife, the furchild, and I were dropping off a friend and fellow Yelper, Steph H. from the LBC, at Oakland International Airport. The cool thing is that AI's marketing director, Joseph, is really savvy with this thing called the Internet and had even updated the hours for the 4th of July by opening the brewery from 10 AM to 2 PM so we knew they were open! None of that nonsense of "it's a holiday, call the business to see if they're open" bullshit. We showed up at 10:15 AM for some breakfast beers and were met by Aristotle, the friendly rescue pitbull that greeted us like he was the B0$$. Did you know, Aristotle used to run along East 10th Street before he was rescued by the nearby Oakland Animal Services and ended up being adopted by the brewery? Anyways, wise Aristotle philosophied us into getting tasters of pretty much all their beers as well as a couple pints. In fact, he even yelped as us that they have a Yelp check-in deal where the first pint is $1. Such a smart dog. The great thing about AI is that they have a wide array of beers that can probably please just about anyone. And, unlike every-other-craft-boring-brewery, AI stays away from hoppy IPAs as if they have an IPA-intolerant allergy. In fact, the only IPA they sell, the East Bay IPA (7.75%) came about as a joke gone wrong. The crazy thing? If this is how they joke, they ain't no freaking joke. Damn solid IPA. Their Cherry Kush (4.4%) is an easy going beer that is basically their Golden State of Mind (kind of like a Hoegaarden) blended with organic cherry juice. Tasty and tart, I just wished it was stronger! The Fruitvale Grind (4.2%) is another light beer that uses coffee from Red Bay Coffee located adjacent to the brewery. This beer almost tasted like a nice lightly-roasted iced coffee. Again, wished it was stronger (see a trend here?). I really liked their Nine Lives Porter (6.9%) because it was one of their stronger beers and because it's named after one of the two rescue brewery cats, Porter! The other rescue cat is Amber. I'm sure a beer named after Amber is in the works... probably an Amber Ale? We actually got to see both of them pop their heads up to annoy our furchild Charlie before disappearing like ninjas. On tap that day were two ciders. There was the Straight-Up Oakland by Crooked City Cider (6.9%) that was a dry cider that was pretty good. But I really enjoyed the Panama Jones (10.3%) Cider, a cider from Mission Trail that had apple and fruity notes that were quite tropical. And at 10.3%, it was the most bang-for-the-gut hehehe. Speaking of Mission Trail, they do a seasonal collaboration with AI called the Protect Ya Nectarine. Can't wait to try this sour beer since, oh ALE yes, we will be back. Also, can't wait to try some of their other seasonal beers like the Pink Drank sour and the Weisse Edict white ale aged with cinnamon in whiskey barrels. So, on top of being BYOD (bring your own dog) and BYOF (bring your own food), they do all kinds of awesome community stuff such as pet adoptions and other charitable events. Over all, just an all-around great brewery. * AI used to own and operate The Pig & The Pickle off that stupid boomerang of a street in Concord with a million names. You know, the one that starts off as Concord Avenue, then becomes Galindo Street for like 5 blocks, and then becomes Monument Boulevard. City Planning at its finest. Crap, totally off-topic... So yes, The Pig & The Pickle was an awesome gastropub that was a bit ahead of its time. Serving all kinds of interesting fare that included duck fat fries to tater tot nachos, kangaroo to camel, they closed in December of 2015. RIP. I pour a Cherry Kush down my throat in your memory.

Yelp
Ale Industries has easily become one of my favorite breweries over the past year. The environment is friendly, light, and welcoming. It's also family friendly which is a must. I've come here for a mom play date with my daughter and friends. I've also come here for a study group on multiple occasions. This place is great and has beer that caters to all types of beer drinkers. Our family favorites are Town Beer which is number one, then Uncle Jesse's, followed by East Bay IPA. I also really appreciate Fruitvale Grind. This place comes highly recommended from me. I recently learned they're in stores also so thats a HUGE plus for me.

Great space, inviting like a cafe, and cozy from a masculine kinda man-decorated space! Been here now for a year, moved over from Concord. Parking so difficult to come by,& that alone is frustrating. Best Mx food north of the border in this neighborhood! Goes perfectly with beer.

Yelp
Special kudos for Ale Industries for hosting a very special UYE: Pupusas & Pints as thrown by our very efficient East Bay Assistant CM Jon G. A great time was had by all with festive and spicy Pupusas being served alongside the delicious beers that Ale Industries offers. I'm personally not a huge beer lover, but I wanted to support a local establishment. So Jon recommended I try the Cherry Kush (which was a very affordable 6 dollars a glass) because it was the fruitiest and quite frankly I'm just that kind of guy, as the taste of barley and ale tend to drive me a little shall we say overboard. But I have to admit I really loved the Cherry Kush. It really tasted like the description. You never would have known I was even having a beer! Ale Industries is in a highly industrialized area right in the middle of the down home Fruitvale District in Oakland, right near the Fruitvale BART station and right off of the Fruitvale Avenue exit off of Interstate 880. This beer making factory is unassuming and be careful you just might miss it when you're driving right by. No worries they have plenty of good choices that if you are doing a beer factory crawl in the region make sure you stop over here as they call their tasting room the "Jingletown Jazz Room" (who knew there was a are in Oakland called Jingletown?) before you head off to the nearby Drake's Bay or 21st Amendment in San Leandro, which are also off of I-880. This is a unique place in a somewhat sketchier area of town and can use the public support, you won't regret it.

Yelp
I'd seen signs for this spot for a while from the Bart and I was eager to check it out. I came in the late afternoon and not too many people around but that was fine with me. The guy at the bar was friendly and he talked about the special themes/events that they had during the week. I ordered a couple of East Bay IPAs and they went down easy. I can see that this place would be a fun spot at night so I'll have to come back when the action is going down.

Yelp
This is definitely one of the best breweries in the East Bay! It's got the whole package - good beer, great community vibes, an awesome space, and a couple of adorable kitties. What's not to love? They've got a pretty good variety of beers, many of which seem to tend a little more on the sweet and fruity side. The sour cherry kush tastes like a slice of cherry pie. Yum. Beers are reasonably priced and run around $5-7/pint. Lots of fun stuff seems to happen here. I came here during SF Beer Week and they had silk rope acrobats performing. Came here last Sunday and there was a great band playing. And even if there's nothing special happening, they have a great board game selection. Beer + Cards Against Humanity = a great afternoon. This spacious warehouse is located in the heart of the Fruitvale and is outside food-friendly. So do yourself a favor and go grab food from one of the neighboring taco trucks and enjoy it with your beer. Then BART home after. Fruitvale station is a five minute walk away, so you don't have to worry about driving and can enjoy a few extra beers!

Yelp
Nice atmosphere. Looks like a great haunt and a place to hang after The Covid dies away! Would recommend at least a check out. Nice guys.

Yelp
A good time was had here. A friend and I went on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy a local beer and were very pleased. There were a couple other small groups there and it was pretty low key. We both got the Beermosa (damn I forgot to take a pic) which included freshly squeezed orange juice and a Tajín rim! It was excellent and I would definitely order this again. The gentleman that served us was very kind, answered all my beer questions and he let me sample a beer I was considering. The space is welcoming and gets a little drafty so maybe just bring your coat if there's a breeze outside. I think I heard people playing pool. Since it's a big space you feel pretty private and can't hear other peoples conversations (which I appreciate). I am looking forward to going back here again real soon to see what's on the menu. Cheers!

Yelp
This place is a Gem! I walked in and had Maureen give me the lowdown on this place. Only a few beers on tap but she was able to talk me through what they had and there history. Honesty couldn't have had a better time and that has a lot to do with the great beer and staff (Maureen). I'll be back! East Bay IPA was my favorite.

Yelp
I was in a Beer mood . So I thought I would go to the 880 Beer Festival at Ale Industries -To Celebrate SF Beer Week 2015. So I jumped into my Whip and rolled to E10th in Oaktown . Ale Industries is in an Industrial Park in the Outskirts of Jingle Town my old Stomping grounds . I parked my Whip across the street and rolled in to Ale Industries . They had Kenny's Heart and Soul Food Truck posted outside . They have a Nice setup inside . They have a Real long Bar. They have some Cool Original Photographs decorating the Walls . They had a Motown Funk Band Playing and Then a Jazz Band followed . They also had a large assortment of Beers to Choose from. Ale Industries - Golden State Of Mind Cherry Kush Uncle Jesse Ryed Piper 21st Amendment - Sneak Attack Cleophus Quealy - Batch Diving Dog - Smoked Spliff Ale Drakes - Hopocalypse Independent Brewing Company - Everyone Loves A Strawberry Blonde and Linden Street Brewery - Emperor Norton I really liked the Cherry Kush and Everyone Love A Strawberry Blonde . I ended up hitting Kenny's Heart And Soul Truck for some Chicken Wings . The Bands were really good. I also like that Ale Industries is in a Low Key Area and Very Close To Bart .

Yelp
This is my neighborhood brewhouse and I could not be more happy that it is right next to an amazing coffee shop also. This is a great watering hole and it houses flavorful craft beers. I like that there is a staple set of beers but there is also seasonal small batches that come around to give you variety. They have daily specials in the heart of the Fruitvale District. Did I mention that you pay a dollar when you use your Yelp check in? Yes, that part! Please tip your servers accordingly when you use this amazing deal :-)

Yelp
I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. I opted for a flight so I can sample a few of their beer styles. The service was quick and the vibe was brewery chill. There was some folks selling tamales and some other folks making Chelada that paired well with the tamales. Though I didn't get a Chelada, I did have beef tamale with rice. The tamale and Chelada guys are vendors, not brewery employees. The beer was good. I liked the fact that they're so close to the Fruitvale station so I can jump on BART.

Yelp
I am in love with this brewery. They brew so many different types of beers and and they all taste amazing. For people coming here for the first time I recommend getting a flight so you can see what you like. If you do not know what to get just get a beer that sounds cool. All the beers names are influenced by the Bay. Some names are "East Bay IPA", "Beast Oakland" and my favorite name "Gose Ride the Whip." The venue is located by the Fruitvale Bart station off of E 10th st. Parking is always easy to find and it is decorated really nice inside. What I love about this place is that the beers are at a really cheap price. This is a great place to bring friends and family (21+) as they do have board games, a pool table, and darts. On top of that this place is pet friendly so you are more then welcomed to bring in your pets. They also have local art around the wall. They do not serve food here but you can bring in your own food. I always stop but the taco truck next door and come here to drink some beers. I love brewery's that allow you to bring in your own food. Overall this place has a relaxing vibe and is a cool place to have a couple of drinks with friends. I highly recommend getting your drink on at Ale Industries. ALSO check in on Yelp to get your first beer for a dollar!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite brewery in the East Bay right now. The bf and I have came by here a handful of times now, and our latest one was after purchasing their Groupon deal for 2-6 taster flights, shirts, and pint glasses (one for each because I did not want to share). Their taster flight can get quite expensive if you start adding in barrel aged beer. They do give generous pours in each taster though. For the most part, most of their beers are delicious. They offer a wide array of various styles of beer so there's sure to be at least one that everyone will like. I sadly thought Gose Ride The Whip was a staple beer on tap, but it wasn't on the tap list when we where there last weekend. They're one of the few breweries that can make a good Gose style beer that's similar to what you can find in Leipzig. I also sing to myself the song every time I order it. Please bring back Gose Ride The Whip soon!!

Yelp
Awesome place. Come at happy hour for the best bang for you buck. If you don't make happy hour, still a great place to go to. It's right across from fruitvale bart. They have some great mexican food around them like sinaloa food truck or tequeria . After 6 you can park free at fruitvale bart station's parking and the ale industries entrance is on the other side. they make a few variety of ales, ciders and sale other interesting brews. They also will carry other brew from other local brewery around the bay area. People there are always nice and willing to answer any question you might have. They also give generous sample sizes so you can get a good feel if you like the beer or now before committing to a full pint. they have a pool table for rent at 5$ an hr and they have two dart boards. It's smaller, more cozy place where if you want to just hang out with your buddies in a more laid back environment, this is a really nice place to be at. Beware if you're allergic to cats though, they have a few feral cats that hang around the warehouse so once in a while you might see them hanging out.

Yelp
Eh. Beer was just okay. Sour was legit sour. It kinda tastes like the brewery looks: dirty. Hoses on the ground. Cat walking around. Motorcycle in the brewing area. Brew tender was cool tho even tho lames holding up the line undecided and trying a sip of everything. I appreciated him.

Yelp
Great spot with good beer. Have been twice in two weekends. Even bought some beer to take home.

Yelp
Stopped in to grab a Oakland Ale Trail passport and check out this brewery for the first time last week. Didn't disappoint. The beer selection was diverse and delicious. I had the Golden State of Mind and loved it. The space is awesome with a pool table, high and low top tables and dart boards in the corner. There is street parking and a lot across the street. It is brewery/tasting room which makes for a more fun/interactive experience. Beer names were pretty awesome and very Oakland-centric. It took all I had not to drink an Uncle Jesse and then say HAVE MERCY.... No food option, but why do you need food when you have plenty of beer. They did have snacks you can purchase.

Yelp
I love this place. They have a large variety of beer, awesome bartenders, open space and plenty of board games! I especially love the sours they make and didn't know I could love a tea beer so much. (Cherry kush and golden state). I'm going to enjoy hanging out here before they get too busy. Quick tips: Monday is all day happy hour, Tuesdays are $10 flight nights and Fridays is 20% off.
