"After ten years of serving pub fare and beer made on-site and hosting countless interesting events in Greenwood, Naked City Brewery is set to close after service on Monday, December 24. “Rising costs and rapidly changing neighborhood have created challenges we are no longer able to overcome,” the business announced on Facebook. The company’s newer Camano Island location, which opened in April, will remain open." - Megan Hill

Google
We were finally able to visit Ale Spike Brewery on beautiful Camano Island today. We loved the casual vibe of the warehouse location, surrounded by tall evergreens and blue skies. The outdoor patio was the perfect place to enjoy a generously poured flight of 6 Ale Spike brews. Honestly, they were all quite nice - we purchased two of the four that were our favorites. The Imperial NW Porter and Firechicken Amber were those favs but honestly there’s something for everyone at Ale Spike. Recommend!!

This is an amazing brewery on Camano Island. Locals are usually here and very friendly. We've met people from all over the PNW coming to get a great beer.

We tried 3 kinds of beer. Each was DELICIOUS. This was very likely the cleanest, most organized brewery and taproom we've ever been to. If it's a sunny day, check out the beer glass sun screens. They could have only originated from the mind of someone who deeply cares about full enjoyment of beer. There is only one negative we could think of: it's not anywhere near our home. If it were, we'd be regular customers.

Google
Hands down the best bottle beer selection I've seen. Owner was knowledgeable and brewing his own beer which was very good.

Google
Great brewery. Records and Laserdiscs. What's not to like. Tasty brews.

Attended the Camano Island Chamber of Commerce June Chamber Mixer here yesterday and had a great team and enjoyed a really good NW Porter.

I love going here, they have good beer on tap and a pretty decent selection in the fridges! Very knowledgeable folks who will be able to find the right beer for you.

Google
Very kewl little nano-brewery near the entrance to Camano. Loved the vinyl music playing and the beer/cider/kombucha selection. I'll be visiting daily for the entire time I'm staying in Camano. Now that I've found Ale Spike, maybe I'll be moving here permanently!

Yelp
Although it was a year ago, I just couldn't help responding to Nicole G's review when I saw it today... Nicole G failed to mention that this warehouse is actually adjacent property to Camano's international airport. Definitely not a slum & no comparison to the crime ridden SODO & the greater Seattle area. The picnic table tables provided, are an historically, comfortable seating arrangement, encouraging interaction by all the patrons of our favorite brewmaster, Chris ("angry guy) at Ale Spike. Truth is, Chris.

Yelp
Amazing place to drink beer. Beer is amazing, people are awesome. Almost dropped down from 5 stars, only because I was a little bit disappointed the bartender didn't throw in a free body slam. Everyone here was very friendly, a little disappointed I didn't have anyone like Nicole G. to remind be how much old clientele stink! Mainly because they're lame and not totally RAD like me! Extremely upset that Nicole G. led me to believe that there was food at this venue when in fact there is not. "Sausage fest" as she said? Nope, not a single one, but I'm still hungry. Good thing the beer is good! Also the music playing was great and at a perfect volume. It really just set a great vibe all throughout the place!

Yelp
There are now two breweries in the Camano Island and Stanwood area! Hooray! My impression was for the longest time there was just one for this area but it's always good to see more options and variety! Ale Spike was our last stop before we wrapped up our day trip of Camano Island. Steve and I both really liked this brewery and found it a great place to unwind and relax! We got two different beers here which we had a good time with! The first one was the A.D.I.D.A.S. Stout. This was an Oatmeal Stout and I really do enjoy those as the chill is in the air during certain times of the year. Rich and smooth this stout was a great place to start with this brewery! Next up we got the Firechicken Amber. I do like my ambers and this one didn't disappoint with it's bready features in it's flavor profile this one was a great beer to wrap our trip up with of the island!

Yelp
A decent alternative for beer if Tapped Camano is busy, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Ale Spike is located in a warehouse area, and not the hip kind. Outdoor seating is just a picnic table and umbrella behind the building. The clientele that day was mostly white, middle aged men. The bartender that day wasn't very welcoming. He may have just had a bad day, but I felt like he might body slam me if I asked too many questions about their beer. The unfriendly vibe was heightened by Rob Zombie and Ozzy playing loudly as we ordered, which I'd love in a setting where the vibe is good! Without that good vibe though, it just feels like you've intruded on an angry sausage fest.

Yelp
Fun small local brewery to stop in on a nice afternoon. Good beer. Vietnamese take out place very close if you want to eat, drink and be merry. Love supporting the small local businesses around here!

Yelp
We enjoy having this brewery on Camano. No food (just a few snacks), but you can bring food in to enjoy with your beer. I highly recommend the Dunkel Lager if it's available, and the Firechicken Amber. Small, and a lot of locals (a great thing). In warmer weather, there is great outdoor seating in front and in back.

Yelp
I have now been coming to Ale Spike regularly for about a year, it's exciting to have a new freshly brewed craft beer tapped on a near weekly basis. Along with slight alterations being made to recurring favorite recipes. indoor and outdoor seating, light snacks and deliverable food available in the area. a must go if you're visting Camano Island.

Yelp
An excellent location for great beers. Friendly local atmosphere. Plenty of Bridal Parties seem to come through. Did I mention great beer? And nobody tried to rip my head off Nicole G. Maybe you should come back ? I'll buy you an Amber

Yelp
I enjoyed the Ale Spike porter at the local Brooklyn Brothers, so when I saw they had a brewery taproom I had to check it out. Located in a little business park next to the airfield. Chris and Lyna are awesome people and made this guy feel welcomed. Great conversation! Several of their own ales are on tap. Couldn't decide so started with a flight. All were great, but in opinion they do dark beers exceptionally well. They don't do every type and added a few guest tap choices for gluten free and non-alcohol (root beer). Coffee also available! There is no food served here. You can either bring your own, or better yet walk a few doors down to Christy's Lumpia. Their menu is posted at Ale Spike so you can call ahead. The bar seats about a dozen, there are a few tables, garage door opens on nice days, and they have a putting green outside. Watch the game or a VHS movie. I'll be back, hopefully for vinyl night.

Yelp
Wonderful micro-brewery on the outskirts of Stanwood/Camano Island. Super friendly staff and a great selection of yummy beers. These guys are keeping it COVID safe and are working hard to survive during a tough time.

Yelp
Our favorite new local spot for beer! Great beer selection and the glasses are cool. Great couple who owns it always ready to talk beer.

Bob S.

Yelp
Great beers. Enjoyed the Festbeir, Firechicken Amber and the Bunchin Up 2.0. Friendly staff/owners in a low key atmosphere. Bought some cans to go. Bring a jacket if it's cold out.

Yelp
Great find with a varied beer selection. Some really unique. Small place but plenty of seating in a warehouse area. No food only beer but there's root beer on tap for the kids. We took home some bock.

Yelp
Great beers, Chris works hard at his craft, and isn't afraid to experiment. He has some unique twists- along with solid staples- Amber, blonde, IPA, porter. Great little spot to try new stuff, and learn from the brewer himself.

Yelp
We came up to the Island for the Glass quest. Did not find a glass ball, but we found this wonderful brewery. Loved the Black Day very dark beer. Worth a trip to the Island.

Cathy M.

Yelp
Great variety and some guest taps in addition to their own brews. Small space and limited hours, but some of the friendliest folks you could meet. Dog friendly and when the weather is good the garage door is open. Bring your own food. Would love to see them get bigger, but that might ruin the wonderful atmosphere.
