Delicious food, great prices, and excellent service! We had the shrimp and steak lunch with Micheladas, everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

Google
Alebrije Mexican Cuisine offers great Mexican food with generous portions. We ordered the stone for 2, and it was more than enough to satisfy our hunger. The drinks were tasty, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We had a particularly positive experience when we accidentally left a purse behind— the manager came out to hand it to us as we were leaving, which was much appreciated. Overall, excellent food, great service, and a thoughtful staff. Highly recommend!

Had a great girls night out! Staff is very friendly and accommodating; no problem adjusting items on the menu. Generous portions of tasty entrees. Selected a traditional cocktail not on the menu that was very good. Outdoor patio dining available.

From the friendly greeting to the beautiful Mexican artwork, this restaurant was a pleasure to dine in. Our server was patient, kind and attentive. We always had extra napkins and topped off water, without having to ask. The servings were generous and reasonably priced. All of the food we had was delicious, including the refried black beans which are often hard to find. My review would not be complete without mentioning that they had the cleanest restaurant ladies room I have ever been in. No dirt in the corners, the stainless steel was sparkling clean, and covers were provided for the toilets. Even though we drove across town to dine here, this will be my go to Mexican restaurant from now on. There are so many new dishes on the menu, I can't wait to try them all!

Google
The food here is truly the best in town! I've been coming here for 6 years now. The true Mexico city style of cuisine is the best in Georgia. The owner is a great man, who always comes to your table to welcome you. The chefs are amazing, service is always prompt, food over the top delicious 😋 ! A MUST TRY for anyone who enjoys quality food. Light years different than all the other Mexican restaurants in town. The "Best of Gwinnett" (5 years in a row, and 6th is sure to come!) awards on the wall show how well Alberije is appreciated. While all the food is amazing the brisket tacos are super great! Thanks to everyone working there for such a great service and food.

Google
Margarita Mondays?!? We love it. These were some of the best margaritas we’ve enjoyed in a while and Monday’s have a deal. Check it out. Besides the drinks this place has a cool vibe to it. The service was outstanding, Samantha was our server and she was ON POINT!! Brisket tacos and the espresso flan were fantastic as well. We will find our way back here again!!

From the moment we arrived, our needs were considered, and the service was extraordinary. The food is a delicacy, served with attention to the smallest detail in flavor and presentation. Thank you for making this an unforgettable experience for my family and me.

Google
This is our new favorite Mexican spot. Taco Thursdays is the best! Only place around I can feed a family of 5 some Good authentic food for less than $60! Great staff too!

Yelp
We came here with another couple on a Monday evening. It was quiet and we were greeted and sat right away. The menu is available via QR code. We all got a margarita and they can do salt, tajin or sugar rimmed. I got the Serrano margarita and the spice was subtle, but delicious. My friends got a pineapple and mango and they all enjoyed the drinks. They started us with warm chips and salsa. The salsa has a really nice Smokey onion flavor that I enjoyed. I can eat a whole bowl by myself! Hubs and I shared the Alebrije stone for two. We each got a plate of chorizo, rice and beans and the dish was packed with chicken, steak, shrimp, cheese, green onion and cactus. Everything was so tender and I really like the tomatillo sauce. We had plenty leftover to bring home. Overall, nice place to check out. They have some different dishes that I will try next timer! Attentive service and nice drinks!

Yelp
Have had this restaurant on my list since we initially moved to the metro ATL area. We happened to be nearby and decided to come in around 6pm on a Saturday. There was no wait at the time and were able to get seated but shortly after the dinner rush began and folks were having to wait. It's a cozy spot with good service. They have a kid's menu which we ordered from for our 2 year old. Our son loves guacamole but theirs has jalapeño in it so it ended up being a no go. To eat I had the steak tacos and they were tasty and filling. Reminded me of the type of tacos from our time in Mexico. The esquites were also on point. Bonus was I ordered a margarita and they were having an anniversary celebration so my margarita was a 2 for 1. Would come back without hesitation when in the area.

Yelp
Mid. Steak was tough, margaritas too sweet, flautas were just rolled tacos. There was an extra meal on our bill and we had to have it corrected. Too expensive for what you get. The ambience was fun and service was decent.

Yelp
Local Mexican spot in Suwanee and could never go wrong with it. I always get the tacos, which never disappoint. My favorites are the steak and Carnita tacos. They are seasoned well, which is a must for a street taco which is minimally dressed with toppings. The ambiance is not flashy at all, and pretty basic looking but it's ok because the drinks and food make up for it. The service is also always on point.

Yelp
Crepas Poblanas - light and tasty surprise. It really is as described, a crepe with chicken and cheese. Even if you aren't too terribly hungry, this hits the spot. The Alebrije Stone - this is great sharing dish even if you get it for one person. There is slight sour taste and the cactus takes away the spice. The whole thing works well. Meats cooked very well and the presentation is pretty impressive. The service is quick and attentive, even if the place is busy and it is ALWAYS busy. Friday night, they had a DJ playing music on the patio, a little loud but you could have a conversation, not recommend for a first date - you'd be yelling at each other. It was a great atmosphere. I can't understate how good the service here is - standing at the bar waiting to get a drink and three different ladies behind the counter asked if i needed anything. not their fault the bartender was slammed but i appreciated them recognizing instead of ignoring.

Yelp
Quiet restaurant. We were a group of 6 and had such a great time. The owner explained mezcal to us. Had a whole new appreciation for mezcal. I had Alebrije Stone I am still blown away by this experience. So good

Yelp
We always enjoy Alebrije! The food and service are both consistent in terms of excellence! Today, we had cheese dip and tacos (steak, brisket, and shrimp). All were delicious! We appreciate the open concept; the food is made to order. The restaurant is always clean and neat. I highly recommend!

Yelp
I have been going here for a few months and just now getting around to writing a review! Each visit I have had here has been 5-star-worthy! My dad is a picky eater and he even approves! Whether it is lunch or dinner, the food is excellent and the servers are above-and-beyond! I have tried their quesadillas, burritos, special platters, margaritas, and queso. Everything tastes excellent and I love their decor. I actually got the chance to submit a pokestop here too and it got approved! Their mural is a fantastic art piece and now a pokestop on Pokemon Go.

Yelp
I went here for dinner tonight. The menu has the specialty items on the right so I asked the waitress would is the best of the far right column. She suggested this one. $18.25 and other similar type items were priced the same. The food came at lightning speed! The beef is thin. You had a choice of corn or flour tortillas. If you run out as they are small they will bring more. The table salsa for chips was also good. It is not that big a place but the dining area had 3 waitresses working, each watching their third of the space. Easy in and out with free parking by the door. Everything was fine!!!

Yelp
This is my second time ordering from alebrije mexican cuisine. We order two fish tacos & to shredded chicken tacos with onion, cilantro, and cheese unfortunately we reviewed something else.. Once I called the restaurant and explain to them that we received the wrong order, they were extremely thoughtful and told us we could bring the food back & exchange it for the correct tacos.. The restaurant was extremely clean when we entered, and the waitress was very nice. Next time I will make sure and double check my food before we leave.. however, we were excited to get home and relax and eat our tacos.. This is a great learning experience to always double check your food, no matter what because humans make human mistakes .. Thank you to the alebrije mexican cuisine staff

Yelp
Tasty little Mexican spot that comes with some drawbacks. It's a really small restaurant with limited seating. It can get busy at times so you may have a wait. The food is really good, but on my first experience here the kitchen forgot my meal when the rest of my party was served. I waited about 10 mins thinking it was still coming before the waiter came over and realized I didn't have my food. Turns out the kitchen never got my order so I waited while the rest of my party finished their meals. Not really that big of a deal, mistakes happen, but I still paid full price for my meal. That alone will probably not have me come back since there are SO many Mexican restaurants in the area, going to stick to my staples that treat me well!

Yelp
Absolutely recommend this place! Food was outstanding service was great! I loved the art work in the restaurant.

Yelp
If you want some amazing food stop here and eat! The portions are big and the prices aren't that bad compared to other places. The restaurant is small but the atmosphere is very nice. Definitely need to try this place out!

Yelp
I hate cilantro with a hefty passion and I had asked for my chicken fajita to come without the lime cilantro seasoning- welp, it came with. BUT, it's one of the only times where I didn't mind enough to send it back or just avoid altogether. The chicken was pounded down thin, making it dense but moist. The tortillas that came with were extremely chewy and warm- delicious!! The salsa verse and guac that came with was just the right amount and seasoning for the fish to come together. I had a couple glasses of wine but my colleague was loving her margaritas! It was definitely one of the better spots we got dinner at while in town for our week long business trip. The decor could use a bit of work but I don't think it's a place meant to impress your first date.

Will N.

Yelp
Great food and even better service. Wonderful people working. Definitely recommend! The atmosphere in the restaurant is enjoyable and authentic.

J A.

Yelp
Not sure what all the hype for this restaurant is but i would never go back Most of the food tasted old , portions small and pricey Got pork taco tasted funky, bad. And have had stomach issues since consuming. Hubby got steak fajita Nope never again.

Yelp
Great food, service and portions. Prices are also very economical and the ambiance is on point. I recommend it to anyone Tue enjoys Mexican food.

Yelp
Weekend special caught my eye immediately; Aquachile De Camaron. Their description follows: Shrimp cured in a spicy Serrano pepper and lime marinade mixed with red onions, cucumber, avocado, green apple, cilantro and served with tostadas. Served cold, this dish is packed with flavor. Your tastebuds will thank you for making this choice. No picture...I ate it before I thought about reviewing it....maybe I will come back for more.

Yelp
The food here was delicious. This is a hidden gem. The service was great, quick and efficient. It's a small restaurant, but comfortable. Would recommend.

Yelp
Outstanding authentic Mexican cuisine. Staff is very polite and service is always outstanding.

Yelp
I've been here several times for lunch and stop for dinner with the hubby. Super fresh salads and the food is well prepared and tasty. Not too salty. The ambiance is just ok. Better for lunch than dinner but still was very fresh and tasty.

Yelp
To start, just want to say the customer service is A1. It deserves 10 stars out of 5. Everyone is so wonderful, nice, and accommodating here. As for food, my date got the tacos plate it's like 3 tacos and I thought it came with rice and beans but it did not. He said the shrimp taco was delicious. You can get this with flour or more authentically with corn tortillas with cilantro and onions. The complimentary chips and salsa were nice! I liked it. For my dish, I got the "enchiladas traditional" it comes with 3 corn tortillas wrapping shredded chicken (Piccadillo beef automatically if you don't specify) and the server was nice to honor my request so that I get half ranchero and half mole sauce since I wasn't sure which one would suit my taste better. The mole is a sweeter, "chocolate" or cacao type of based sauce with cinnamon but it's not dessert tasting if that makes sense? This would be a sauce id get less of but still interested to taste again and again. I liked the rachero sauce better it's the traditional tomato/pepper based enchilada sauce. Even though I didn't favor the mole sauce too much I have literally no idea why I'd still get half mole sauce lol. Food here is pretty cheap imo like 10-20$ range. Margaritas by the glass are 11ish$ I didn't see any advertisement for pitchers. All in all, the food isn't to my personal taste but this is solely a me challenge. I wouldn't mind coming back for a salad or something but this isn't a place I'm going to rush to. Thank you to this establishment for such a wonderful experience!

Yelp
Unique menu | Great Service | Good Food My husband found this place on Yelp and we decided to go check it out. The menu isn't like your traditional Mexican restaurant. It does have the traditional dishes but it also have some unique and cool dishes like Beef tips cooked with cactus for example. The interior is casual. The server was very nice and helpful. They served some chips and salsa that I think was free. I ordered one Carne Asada Taco (onions and cilantro, corn tortilla), my husband ordered Puntas Al Mezcal: beef tips cooked with cactus, pasilla peppers, tomatoes, onions and cilantro, and his uncle ordered Enchiladas Tradicionales. My husband didn't like the cactus pieces because it's a bit sour and it's not his flavor profile (he said it was similar to kimchi / pickles - which he doesn't like). Besides the cactus, the sauce was pretty good and it has a heat to it that was just the right amount. My taco was ok, the meat was a bit tough unfortunately but the green sauce that comes with it was very delicious. My husband's uncle loved his food and I tried his chicken and it was very good. We plan to go back there and try some other dishes. The service was great and quick.

Yelp
I entered through what I thought was the front door but it wasn't. It's on the other side of the building not the entrance that's across from the street. My friends were there with a table already so I just joined them. We placed our order pretty quickly (within 15 minutes) but it took 45 minutes for us to get our food. It's a small place and can get filled up pretty quickly but it also looked like they only had one cook. We each ordered a dish to try. It's been a month or two since I've been back but I don't remember the names. One was a chicken soup, a steak burrito, chicken and steak fajitas, and ceviche. Chicken soup was okay, not bad but not like chicken noodle soup. It had nice pieces of chicken and variety of veggies in it and nicely seasoned. 5/10 Steak burrito was packed with a good amount of protein and meat to cheese ratio was perfect. Not filled with just cheese! 6/10 Chicken and steak dish was so good! Ask for their spicy sauce ($1 up-charge). It has a nice kick and so so good over their steak and chicken. I enjoyed that. 7/10 Their ceviche was okay, I've had better (in Nassau ). But for their standard its alright. It wasn't as sour or as spicy as I would have liked and I think there was jicama in it was off putting for me. It was also lukewarm... 3/10 I most likely won't be coming back because the wait for our food was much too long when we're all hungry, and the food didn't satisfy our palate.

Yelp
I highly recommend this restaurant! The brisket tacos were cooked to perfection, with tender and flavorful meat and their sweet plantains bursted sweetness all over the place. I was also impressed by the restaurant's great service and welcoming atmosphere.

Yelp
Eight minutes away from most places you care about is your oasis of Mexican cuisine with plenty of room to park your scooter. Or splurge and buy something bigger with the money you won't have to spend for a large meal at Alebrije. This was a lunch visit but I have great confidence they're open for dinner as well. Or just rotate tables and continue from lunch to dinner in one fell swoop. This just in: confirmed dinner is an option, or you brunch-type late-risers can grab your breakfast burrito at 11 am. Despite my wife being "done with quinoa", since this was a father-son affair (and well she ain't here is she), I accidentally happily ordered the Salad Bowl #1. I should have been persuaded by the name alone--so exotic! Thanks to a helpful waitress who gave me the pros/cons of #1 vs Steak Alebrije, I decided to throw caution to the wind and order a salad. I think the fact this was "lunch" subliminally influenced against steak. I need to work on my subliminalness since I consider medium rare steak on top of a couple romaine leafs to be "steak salad". But I digress. This was a diverse layered mix of greens, beans, corn, and lots of choices for protein. I of course chose to add...steak. Surely you didn't think I would veer of that path! Three choices of dressing/sauce; I picked the cilantro one. It was fab. I was stuffed, especially after loading up on those tortilla chips pre-game. My son opted for one of the grilled chicken lunch specials. I should have paid attention but I was too busy burying my face in that complex salad I ordered. It was good fun, good food, and I'll look forward to the return trip. Maybe next time I'll order something steak.
google avatar

Shevon M.

Yelp
The service here is TOP NOTCH! Zoey is an amazing server and if I were just basing my visit off her service I would return... but I'm not. I go out to eat for the food that tap dances on my taste buds.... The food here was the exact opposite. I wanted to ask for salt and probably should have but why do I need to season my food when I'm not cooking it?! It wasn't just me. My friend was not happy with her meal either. The plantains were the only item I'd order again and that's not enough to bring me back. YELP-- you failed me...
google avatar

Yelp
First impressions are everything. At many Mexican places, the first thing you try are the chips and salsa, and they're a pretty good indicator of how things will go. At this place, the salsa was a pretty bland puree. I prefer mine with some chunks of fresh tomatoes and onions, and a little heat. Things improved with $6 margaritas on "Margarita Monday" and some queso adorned with chopped jalapeños. We tried a couple of things; the carne asada tacos and cochinita pibil tacos were delicious! The steak was cooked perfectly and the pork was so flavorful. I really over ate on the Alebrije Stone. This was a combination of chicken, steak, shrimp, cactus and cheese in a sizzling hot stone molcajete. I loved the tomatillo sauce and blend of flavors. It was a little salty, but I enjoyed it until my stomach hurt! In summary, don't let first impressions get in the way, as you might be surprised at what you'll get!

Yelp
We had so many good meals on this trip but this one is the one that really stands out and I'd love to go back. This was the farthest from our hotel but highest rated. I'm so glad we went. I had some questions about the menu. first I'm not great at getting my android phone to pull up the menus and when we finally did .. i had questions. the staff were busy and seemed most people knew what they wanted so we were sorta in the no service zone for a bit. If we didn't know she said .. gave us time but I had questions. There were things on the menu I'd never heard of and the drinks just had names .. nothing to discribe what they were or how they differed. In the end i went for the house margarita and ended up getting 2. We both loved them and liked they weren't as tart as normal margaritas. the chips and salsa ... omg. we both agreed best salsa we EVER had. the flavors and spice level were perfect. I liked what we both ordered and when he didn't finish his ... I did. I'd skipped lunch so I was really hungry. Several things on the menu I'd like to try. Once we got our food the server seemed more friendly and attentive. i was sooooo pleased with the food and wish we had this restaurant in Ohio. Omg the flavors ... my mouth is literally watering as I write this. I usually don't eat refried beans .. my husband was shocked I ate what was left of his. But they had some spice and flavor not the typical boring refried beans.

Yelp
Good food, super nice people! Pleasant atmosphere but I've just had to get takeout so far and everything was packaged nicely.

Yelp
Let me start by saying, this place is a hidden jewel. A little hard to find and not a lot of parking, but the food is unbelievable. Hands down best Mexican I have eaten. A must try and don't forget the margarita!!!

Yelp
We love this place, this was our second time here and both times, we found the food, the service, and ambience top notch. This time we even asked for the hot sauce and aye caramba, it was great! The drinks hit the spot as well, we got their special blueberry mojito and ginger cucumber Margarita and they were both well made. For appetizers, we started off with quest fundido (made with chihuahua cheese!), and enchiladas tradicionales (all with shredded chicken with mole and ranchero sauce). Overall, this was a good dining experience and we'd definitely recommend this gem to our friends and family.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious fresh flavors! Interesting menu of classic favs and new takes on traditional. Our party had Salad 1, Salad 2 and the Tortitta sandwich with soup. One Texas Margarita, great flavor, made fresh not from a mix, that was mine , espresso flan for dessert. Portions were generous. Service was good. Indoor and small patio with outdoor seating available. A little difficult to hear with ambient noise inside, but very enjoyable atmosphere.

Yelp
We stoped by Alebrije on a sunny afternoon just looking for some yummy tacos for takeout and they didn't disappoint! Everyone was wearing masks, social distancing, and using digital menus. They made us feel very safe. They offer authentic Mexican food, so I wasn't so familiar with some stuff on their menu, but we ended up ordering crepas, and tacos. Crepas Poblanas ($12.50): crepes filled with chicken topped with creamy poblano sauce and cheese with rice. Taco Combo ($8.50): 2 tacos topped with cilantro and onions and choice of rice or beans. The Crepas Poblanas are absolutely amazing!! Best. Thing. Ever. The green sauce was so creamy, and rich. The rice was amazing, and the shredded chicken well seasoned. The tacos were ok. Too small in my opinion, and needed a little more flavor, but not bad. We also had their chips & salsa, and the salsa was incredible. Very chunky. The owner, Mark, was so friendly and explained us the "Alebrije" concept which is so beautiful, he also gave us a sample of their Mezcal and we can't wait to try it on a Marg, very good!

Yelp
Really don't have anything bad to say. Good food. Decent prices. Great customer service. Nice decor. Pleasant atmosphere.

Yelp
Upscale chef and kitchen. Very creative. Small interior. 10-15 tables. Tequila bar and beer. Not much other selection. Overall, very good. I'll be back.

Yelp
We wanted to try somewhere different for our weekly weekend date, and found this on yelp. It was so good!! Drinks were amazing and food was great. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a more casual restaurant experience with great food/drinks. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Got the lunch special burrito to go. It was super yummy thought the meat was slightly dry. They gave me a ton of tomatilo sauce on the side thought it was very sour for my taste. The chips were fresh and the salsa was also very good. Was kind of confused by where the front entrance actually was but it's okay.

Yelp
Awesome totally legit Mexican food like you would get in Oaxaca. If you want a bunch of melted yellow cheese this is not your place. Interesting menu, great service. We loved it

Yelp
In celebration of Latinx Heritage Month, I decided to visit one of my favorite Latinx-owned restaurants right here in Suwanee. Alebrije can be easily seen from Satellite Blvd, but can also easily be driven past if you don't know it's there. I can confidently say; however, that Alebrije is not a place you want to miss. Alebrije is located in a small shopping plaza near the intersection of Satellite Blvd. and Old Peachtree Rd. Look for the Regions bank and it's right behind it. The restaurant itself is fairly quaint, seating about 40 people comfortably inside, give or take a few. Like many restaurants, they have also moved to a digital menu that you can view via a QR code that's located at the center of each table. They have hand sanitizing stations set up at both entrances of the restaurant. I say both entrances, but since the pandemic they encourage people to use the entrance furthest from Satellite to help direct the flow of traffic and practice social distancing. I'm always greeted with a smile whenever I come to eat here -- they treat you like family the moment you walk in. Once seated they will ask if you'd like chips and salsa, unless you have a good reason not to, accept the chips and salsa every time. I tend to be picky when it comes to the types of chips restaurants serve and of course the salsa as well, both are excellent here. I also enjoy coming here on Thursdays because they do a $1 off tacos for Taco Thursdays. I highly recommend the brisket tacos but I've tried all of them and have not found a reason to dislike any of them. Everything is always on point from the food to the service. I am so happy to know this restaurant is still thriving after all that's happened since the pandemic.

Yelp
Great customer service. Food came fast. The salsa at the table tasted very fresh and I'm honestly not even a fan of salsa but I ate it. There was a piece of hair in my food that I noticed as soon as I cut into it but they were able to take it back and fix me another plate in a reasonable time. I'll most likely go back to try other menu items.

Yelp
I am ALL over a taco Tuesday and this little hidden gem did not disappoint. Tucked away in Duluth is this great restaurant that makes hand crafted drinks to order. I got the strawberry infused margarita which was as good as it looked. They offer a variety of dishes and we were able to mix and match our two selections. The server was very knowledgeable and offered suggestions for tacos she preferred. I got the Carne asade, carnitas, and chicken de tonga. The sauce that came with it gave the tacos a little kick. The salt mixture they put on the rims of the margaritas was some specialty red pepper salt mix that was really good! If you're ever in Duluth, check this place out.
