"Although they serve their thick corn tortillas and tasty tlayuda out of a truck, the mother-daughter team at Alebrijes Oaxaca Kitchen swear their joint is “not a taco truck.” Who are we to argue? Setting up shop in a lot that sat vacant for several years, Alebrijes Oaxaca Kitchen has been the buzz in White Center since it opened. The tostada de tinga is a thing of beauty with imported tostada, chicken tinga, and just the right drizzle of cream, all topped with queso fresco." - Jenise Silva

Some of the best, most interesting Mexican food I've had in town. The thick, soft, fresh tacos and memela are just delicious. There's much more than just tacos, feels like a real full menu, not too big, and all of it done well. The menudo is quite nice too.

Edit: I really hope this place opens up again. It is very hard to see so not many people have found it. The most amazing new food truck in Seattle! Hard to find because it's below street level. Has different kind of Mexican food than I've ever had. For instance the Memela Deluxe is a wonderful dish at a great price. It's on a handmade a couple of large tortillas with chorizo and carne asada and cecina. The carne asada is actually made from ribeye! All this on some wonderful black beans with yummy melted cheese and it's only $7! All the other dishes look good too and they're different from every other place. Like any food truck it's not the greatest atmosphere to eat at because it has a very loud gas powered generator..

The cashier was really friendly and walked me through some of the menu items and gave me recommendations. I really enjoyed my quesadillas. Got one with squash blossoms + huitlacoche and another with chicken tinga. Next time I’d like to try the tlayudas and the memelas.

This is a taco truck in a lot right off the main business district in White Center. Parking can be tricky on weekend evenings. I have eaten here twice. First visit I got a Tlayuda, which tasted just as good as the best ones I had in Oaxaca, it's a very large meal. Second visit got an empanada with chicken and mole verde, which was amazing. The mole was so flavorful from the green herbs like epazote. Also got a tetela (see photo), and a memelita, which tasted just like the ones I ate for breakfast in the market in Oaxaca City. The food here is very high quality, and the portions are generous for the price. The service is great, there a shelter for eating but it can be chilly depending on the weather. I know they have specials sometimes, but I haven't had the chance to try them yet. If I lived closer, I would eat here more.

No place to sit, but really cute space. Ordered the huaraches, a little pricier than Oaxaca (duh) … but flavors are incredible. All about the maize.
