Alebrijes Taqueria

This place blew my expectations out of the water. Lots of seating and cute interior. Once seated you’re given complimentary chips and 3 different salsas. I typically stay away from salsa because I cannot handle heat very well, but decided to try them at the recommendation of my fiancé who said I HAD TO try them. All 3 were very spicy for me but the flavour was so good. I could not stop eating even though my mouth was on fire lol. We also got 4 birria tacos with mozzarella cheese which I would have to say up to this point are the best I’ve had in the city. My fiancé who isn’t too fond of Mexican cuisine got the asada quesadilla and said it was the best he had, not greasy at all and the meat had great flavour. We also got the queso-chorizo app and I enjoyed it but personally would have preferred it served with chips than tortillas. The tres leches was great as well, not as sweet as some that I’ve had. Service was also amazing, service was quick, accurate and super friendly and helpful. Overall 10/10. If this restaurant was located closer to home, I’d probably be a new regular lol.

We usually visit this spot with a large group on Sundays when in the area, and absolutely love our experience each time. Really look forward to each meal here. The burrito bowls are great, along with the tacos and honestly everything we have tried or that family and friends have eaten has been amazing. After the feasts we have, its always great to look at your bill and have to double check thinking you were undercharged because the food is very affordable. Top notch food, great atmosphere, solid service. Highly recommend!

Hands down one of the most authentic Mexican food I’ve had here in Toronto that’s actually worth the price. I’ve been here a bunch of times and the food and service never disappoints.

Had a great meal at Alebrijes! We ordered the tostadas, enchiladas with pasilla sauce, and the Trio Botanero for app. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Authentic food experience- definitely worth a visit!

Authentic Mexican food with great service. I have tried different tacos and they all taste great, portions are good and staff are polite too.

The food is delicious and the price is reasonable. It beats any of those popular taco restaurants in Toronto. The soup comes in two sizes. If you are getting tacos as well, I would recommend choosing the smaller size. The location isn’t the most convenient but it is so worth it.

I reserved a table for 10 for a birthday dinner on a Wednesday night. We had a great time. Food was tasty and came out quick. All our food came at the same time and was nice and hot. I didn’t grab the waitresses name but she was amazing! Pricing was also great! Thank you for a great dinner!

This is our go-to comfort zone when it comes to Mexican food! The food is absolutely delicious, well-priced, and always served super fast. The service is amazing—everyone is so kind and welcoming. My favorite dishes are the shrimp tacos and the green chicken enchiladas. Highly recommended!

Great little taqueria in the north end of the city. The tacos are pretty authentic and delish. It's not a great bang for your buck, but it would leave you happy. Kudos for the two little bottles of sauce served on the side.

First impression on a Sunday afternoon: very busy, but laid back atmosphere. Nicely decorated so it looks like a fun place for a lunch date / work lunch. (4.5/10) The food: I ordered the Birria and Carnitas tacos. I chose Birria over Asada because it's stewed and I figured it'd have a richer flavor and I turned out to be right (as usual). It went perfectly with the red sauce and other fresh but standard ingredients. Overall, 5/5! The carnitas is typically a "safe" choice for me, but maybe because I had it after the Birria, it turned out to be underwhelming. Nothing more specific than that unfortunately since I was pretty engrossed in a conversation at that point, 3.5/5. I would come back to Alebrijes and try more items on the menu for sure, as it has that hidden gem / local favorite potential going for it!

We have had multiple items from this little gem including guacamole, tacos and burritos, all delicious! Well cooked and authentically flavoured. We have not eaten in the restaurant, but have picked up take out multiple times. The place is always packed and full of energy and often live music is playing. Looking fwd to an in person experience, but the food even when carried home on a cold night holds up beautifully, highly recommended!
