13 Best Hotels in Phuket, Thailand

"Strictly speaking, Aleenta Phuket is located in the Phang Nga region, just to the north of Phuket. The reason you’re here? To escape the crowds. The beach is the perfect place to do that: the palm-fringed sweep of sand is dotted with a few quiet-seeking travelers and some friendly dogs. The contemporary all-white beachside villas are the perfect rooms to make the most of the setting: with large pools and rooms each with their own entrance (separated from the main villa living space) they’re perfect for groups of friends or grown-up families. Little guests will be happy here too, with a small but sweet kids' club with a shallow pool and slide, and activities including tie-dye t-shirt making. Settle in for relaxed lunches and evening meals—think burgers or curries—at the beachside restaurant, or try the plant-based restaurant, Seasons, one of the few in the region. The chef’s multi-course tasting menu is worth the trip to Aleenta, even if you’re not staying. —Hannah Summers" - Chris Schalkx

Aleenta Phuket Resort & Spa

"Phuket’s beaches are notoriously overcrowded so a sister and brother team of locals in the know headed to the nearly deserted Natai Beach in Phang nga, one half hour drive north of Phuket International Airport to create Aleenta Resort. Their first property, on the beach outside Bangkok, was a hit with well known sun seekers like the Beckhams and this architecturally eye-catching contemporary resort promises even more pleasures. White washed standard suites are on the sand, epitomizing Aleenta’s ‘outdoor living-in’ philosophy, with floor to ceiling retractable windows that open onto private infinity pools plus tropical gardens, outdoor showers and whirlpool baths. Set back behind lemongrass stalks and lotus ponds, four duplex loft suites with soaring double height ceilings bring an urban chic to this uninterrupted 2.5 miles stretch of beach. 15 private villas have long since been sold to savvy investors; five are outfitted as spa residences for hotel guests who want to sleep, exercise and pampering to take place without leaving their private space. Pilates and yoga are the domain of an Indian yogi who rises with the sun to lead guests through downward dogs, extensive stretches or simply contemplative meditations in the sand. The waterfront four room spa incorporates the soothing waves to heal along with strong Thai massage. Worth leaving the beach for are nearby excursions like jungle safaris into the rain forest and a bevy of diving options as well as visits to the leatherback turtle rescue initiative sponsored by the hotel. Come back in time for exquisite dinners from the French chef who expertly turns out western dishes while adding a toque worthy touch to indigenous classics like pad thai. Making a barbeque grill from hollowed coconut trunk, he’s perfected the beachfront picnic by the seashore."

We stayed for 4 nights in December 2024 at Aleenta at one of the seaview duplex rooms.||This hotel is divided into two parts, the main hotel, spa, restaurants and seaview villas on one side of the road, whereas the other villas with no seaview are staying a short distance away on the other side of a road.||We had requested a quieter villa and the hotel nicely put us in the last villa. Unfortunately it meant there was no direct sun to our room, as it was blocked by trees from a neighbouring property, for most of the day until late afternoon. We also noted that there were no toiletries offered and upon request they were also forgotten.||WELLNESS - ||Early on into our stay we tried the complimentary wellness sessions, but were met with a rude member of staff, which should NOT be working in wellness. Prior to our session starting, he criticised other guests, was rude to us, and was generally just not very polite. He was also openly saying how he wanted to leave the job. Unfortunately due to this incidient, we did not do any more wellness activities, which were a big part of the reason we had chosen this hotel.||FOOD -||We thoroughly enjoyed our food at the main seaside cafe, where we also had our dinners. The selection of food was huge, so we were quite satisfied. Service wise - it depended on who was on duty that day. We did find some members of staff to be not so attentive and even forgot to mention the specials for the day. It was also sometimes difficult to grab their attention. ||We had 2 meals at the vegan fine dining restaurant - we were genuinely impressed with their effort in trying for this type of cuisine. The only suggestion we had was that for the "prawn" crackers that were served on both meals were rather soft/not fresh. Despite the service staff member being wonderful, the food was still not "amazing". (we noted during the 4 days we were there, not once did we see another table). We do commend the hotel for trying this concept, and hope it is successful!||OVERALL - good property, great and quiet beach, hard working staff, solid food options, but increased training to some service staff is needed for a trully luxurious stay.

I have been lucky enough to travel extensively and had massages in all corners of the world and have never left a review until now. This was bar far the best one ever. Before we started I was asked where to concentrate, the strength of the massage and places to avoid (knee surgery) and it was followed to a tee. It wasn’t scripted it was I’ve found a knot. Destroy it. I don’t mind firm but she was on another level but in a good way. I can now move my neck and shoulders far more than before pain free! Amazing! Back for another one in 2 days.

We went to Aleenta Phuket in December 2024 / Januari 2025. We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful Beachfront Villa with comfortable beds and lovely linen. |The beach is absolutely wonderful, natural, clean, long and so beautiful with stunning sun sets. The staff is very nice and everybody showed us a warm hospitality and did their utmost. The restaurant, lovely situated by the beach, had a large menu of very good food that we enjoyed very much. We also appreciated the eco-consiousness of the hotel. We highly recommend Aleenta in Phuket.

The pool villas were absolutely gorgeous! We loved it a lot, the bathroom was so nice with a view to the pool! The big glass sliding door to the bedroom! The room was spotless and smelled so nice. The bed was very comfortable and they did a wonderful job at housekeeping. The beach was very clean and private. We did go with the bikes, free of charge and that was nice, safe and no traffic st all

We stayed here as a family for two weeks over Christmas & New Year and had everything you could wish for - and more! The beach is always clean and spacious for walking. The sea is a pleasant 30 degrees and is the ultimate bathtub. The rooms are incredibly beautiful and comfortable, have everything you need & are cleaned and made fresh daily (as required). The best thing at the end: the staff The people who work here go out of their way to make you feel at home. We had the chance to meet Gary during our vacation, who was there for us & our concerns. I am not lying when I say that Gary is one of the friendliest, most accommodating and kind-hearted people I and all my family members have ever met. Whatever we needed or activities we wanted to do, he went out of his way to make it happen. It's fair to say, he is also part of our family now. The rest of the staff, whether restaurant, sauna or housekeeping, are of course always there if you need anything. So, all in all a 5/5 experience, I have nothing to complain about and only have love for the people who work there every day.

We have had a wonderful time at the Aleenta, super two bed loft style accommodation with pool and glorious sea views. Natai beach stretches for kilometres and is almost empty, an absolute delight.|Breakfast at The Edge is divine, lots of fresh choices, we also enjoyed 5 very good Al a carte dinners. A special mention to the staff who went above and beyond all expectation, the most gracious female manageress at restaurant, Mint, Best and Yacht were all superb, Mint was especially kind to my mother. A huge thank you to Noo who helped facilitate a very late check out, despite the hotel being at almost 100% occupancy.|The Aleenta gets a high 5 from us, well done to you all, an effortless and sophisticated stay with superbly trained and caring staff on a spectacular beach.

This was my second visit to the resort and this time I took the ocean loft villa. Overall the place was clean and continued to be well maintained over the years. All the staff (front desk, cleaning, dining, spa, etc.) were very courteous, always smiling and attentive to guests’ needs. The meals were delicious and ample in quantity. I also enjoyed the yoga session and spa treatments. It was a very relaxing time in a lovely setting.

Very nice and big rooms, hats down. However it could be much more comfortable for the size of it. There was nowhere to put make up, no place to put the towel, no iron in the room, the noise from the swimming pool was too much and it made it impossible to sleep. The people were helpful, the breakfast was not great, but edible. I would have expected smth better for that room price. Nice beachfront, i would choose another hotel closer to town next time.
