The 35 Best Restaurants in Barcelona

"A great option for indecisive diners, Aleia offers one tasting menu, that's it. It costs €178. There are two pairings to go with it, alcoholic priced at €108, non-alcoholic for €78. From scallop in cava with soubise, or French onion sauce, to the decadent grilled crayfish in a sherry beurre blanc with crayfish head “air”, or the Iberian “flan”—like a dessert but with the flavor of the finest Iberico pork—with chantarelles, melon and smoked eel —that sounds like it shouldn’t work but totally does, everything is perfect. Even the desserts (like the astonishing avocado cream with caviar) are refreshing and leave you feeling not-too full (quite a feat after 13 courses). Few spaces in Barcelona are more elegant or romantic than Aleia. Better still, the food more than lives up to the hype." - Isabelle Kliger, Gemma Askham

Aleia

"At Aleia, enjoy a fascinating experience that you’ll rarely find elsewhere, thanks to its combination of fine dining and architecture, and a location on the first floor of the famous Casa Fuster (nowadays the Hotel Casa Fuster), a jewel of Catalan Modernism designed in the early 20C by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. In its bright dining room, with large columns flanking its stunning windows and an extraordinary undulating ceiling that is reminiscent of the titanium panels adorning the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, savour a single tasting menu (choose between the long or short option) with a creative and contemporary vision, on which Jerez-born chef Rafa de Bedoya, always under the supervision of the award-winning Paulo Airaudo, showcases consistency and flavour, alongside a few French and Asian flourishes, and with its foundation in locally sourced seasonal ingredients." - Michelin Inspector

The best Michelin star restaurant I have ever dined at. We had 14 courses of the most delicious, incredible flavors. It was a true fine dining experience. I recommend this to all fine dining fans but be sure to come hungry!! The wine pairing was absolutely worth the price and added to the experience. Great, very attentive and professional service. I hope to be back soon for another delicious meal!

Had the possibility to visit and in short: dont miss the one! One star place, with many of the foods could have opted for two stars. Really good wines but if I have to mention something to be better at: could be wine pairing with food But overall: do visit, you will not regreat

Rich. The food at Aleia was good but incredibly rich. The presentation was spectacular, but even when pacing ourselves, the experience felt a bit too overwhelming. The service was pretty good. They were friendly and attentive, but perhaps too attentive. It felt like we had very little privacy because the staff was hovering nearby. I understand this may be part of showing us they are available to us at a moment’s notice. But we ended up having to speak softly, almost to a whisper, in order to have some privacy. We also had to ask them to slow down the food placement. Given how the place was nearly empty, it was a bit disappointing to see them rush the food to our table. The restaurant had elegant elements to it. Large windows and beautiful street-side views. But there’s not much of a vibe. It was surprising to find the restaurant only had one other table with guests when we dined on a weekend night. This is an interesting indicator that even a Michelin-starred restaurant isn’t always as coveted.

Aleia delivers an exceptional dining experience in an elegant, intimate setting inside Casa Fuster. The tasting menu was a true work of art — each dish beautifully presented, full of vibrant flavors, and showcasing the finest seasonal ingredients. The service was flawless, professional yet warm, and the wine pairing complemented the meal perfectly. Aleia is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience Michelin-starred dining at its best in Barcelona.

Good location and atmosphere however one of the dishes - chawanmushi which was overly salted mushroom moreover is not a Japanese restaurant; dessert was overly sweet; venison was too tough and sour, some of the dishes were fresh Eg the raw appetisers however the worst part was that there was hair in one of the dish which is not acceptable for a Michelin restaurant sad to say.

Hands downs one of the best Michelin restaurants I've been to. To focus on details such as non alcoholic wine for guests is beyond the norm . My only problem in the whole set menu was the steak which in my opinion could have been a higher grade but sticking to local ingredients makes aAleia more authentic . Galacian steak is no match for A5 wagyu which should have been the choice . The sea food portion of the set menu is phenomenal! Enjoyed every plate !
