"This historical Black Forest establishment in an idyllic location is thoroughly inviting. Inside, an attractive upscale dining space exuding bags of regional charm awaits. Affording magnificent views of the lake, the terrace beckons in summer. The menu takes its cue from the seasons and includes dishes such as Black Forest trout fillets with pickled cherry tomatoes, courgettes and parsley mashed potatoes or French corn-fed poularde breast, tender young beans and thyme pasta. There is also a "Gourmetmenü" comprising five or eight courses with wine pairings. Options are more limited at lunchtime. For overnight stays, the boutique hotel of the same name has guestrooms that seamlessly blend modern and traditional elements." - Michelin Inspector

Very nice, cosy hotel with beautiful rooms. We arrived late but that was no problem. We had three adjacent rooms, which were all good. It was quite warm in the rooms, but with an open window it is fine. I saw some reviews about the shades, but there were shutters so the room became nice and dark. Breakfast was also very well with plenty of choice. Only downside was that the restaurant was closed, but there were enough alternatives close by. Would definitely go again.

In itself a fine hotel. We needed a place to stay for the night before the return journey. We also wanted to eat something and the website said that the kitchen was open until 21:30. That is why we chose this hotel. Once booked online, we received a standard message from the accommodation 5 minutes later with information including the message that the kitchen would close at 20:30. We arrived around 20:50 and the kitchen was indeed closed. This was a disappointment for us. We would have chosen another hotel otherwise. The brochures in the hotel also state that the kitchen is open until 21:30. Very unfortunate. So with an empty stomach we slept badly in a very large, clean room. The bed was gigantic. Unfortunately no air conditioning or it did not work properly. The staff was friendly.

Conveniently located 5 minutes from the highway. Clean and spacious rooms (we got upgraded to junior suites which was a nice surprise). Recently renovated. Breakfast was good, as was dinner. Would definitely stay again as it's a great stopover on our way to Italy.

We stayed here as part of a coach party in September. I was a bit wary as I’d read the reviews before I went but the hotel was lovely. We had a nice big front facing room with a balcony. Spotlessly clean with a lovely en suite with shower. Food was excellent both nights. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and the wine was reasonably priced. Only drawback was there was no actual bar and we sat in the foyer round a large table. Overall no complaints and I would return.

We stayed in the hotel for only one night. The staff was quite helpful and friendly. The hotel is little bit old but renovated. Also the Christmas decorations in the building was really nice. The room was really clean and big enough. The breakfast was also nice, not huge variety of choices but pretty enough. Overall, the hotel was far from city but we would stay there again.

The hotel is located in a nice small town, you can park the car free outside. There are a shop of vegetable and tipic thing from the area very cool. ||You can go from the hotel to friburg in 30 minutes from quiet and relax roads. ||The staff was polite. The breakfast is quite simple and basic, but it works for a normal breakfast. The room was very calm and clean. We stayed here three nights and from here we visit different place of the schwarbald or black forest.

Stayed at the hotel for one night this week with work colleagues. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and breakfast was plentiful. The setting is rural but not far from Freiburg or Europapark. Great value for money.
