Aleria

"Time seems to have stood still in this beautiful restaurant occupying a neo-Classical residence from the mid 1800s, where the delightful patio, contemporary decorative features and 19C spirit come as a pleasant surprise. Here, the focus is on updated Greek cuisine presented in two menus (both with 5- or 6-course options): one entitled Earth & Sea, the other, the vegetarian-based Garden & Nature." - Michelin Inspector

This must have been the best food experience of my life, so far. We went with 6 courses, got two starters and from the very first starter we could tell that we were in good hands. Everything was tasty, well composed and the sommellier had done a great job in her selection of wines which all complemented the food to perfection. Thanks to everybody at Aleria!!!

Had an amazing meal our last night in Athens. We were seated in the back garden that was serene and very atmospheric. Service was attentive and warm without being pretentious. You could choose 5, 6 or 7 courses. We chose 6 and wine pairing. The food was perfection, every course was unique. It was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The wines were extremely well chosen, the sommelier’s well curated taste were evident in every wine pairing. They had a vegetarian option as well. We especially appreciated that they were able to accommodate our son who has celiac disease and their gluten-free house made bread was delicious. This is a wonderful special occasion dinner, highly recommend. It was expensive but they delivered.

Each course was phenomenal with so much depth. The wine pairings were also excellent with much thought and knowledge behind each one. The spirit selection was excellent, in general. My wife and I enjoyed every bite and every sip! To top it all off, the service was second to none. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Athens.

Ok, let me start with this: Aleria is NOT a restaurant where you go for a “quick” meal. Plan to sit and enjoy. It is truly fine dining, a wine pairing meal that is meant to be savored and allow the wine to seep in so you start talking more ;o) and enjoy the companionship of your party, whether its one other person for five others. On our recent trip to Athens we went because our friend, Effie, said it was a must do. We were definitely NOT disappointed. Thank You Effie!! The meal unfolded with an amuse bouche and ended several hours later with an equally amazing digestif. In between we were treated to a dance of amazing flavor combinations and the most sumptuous lamb I have ever had. Each course and wine were paired perfectly, and we were very pleased that the red was an “Earth and Sky” from northern Greece, a wine we had discovered days earlier in Thessaloniki. 5 courses were perfect for us but you should try 6 or 7 if you skip luncheon. The Amberjack course was a delightful surprise. The staff was knowledgable, unobtrusive and professional, with a sense of humor thrown in. They made for an amazing evening. Thank you. Excellent service is a treasure. GO NOW BEFORE THEY GET A MICHELIN STAR BECAUSE YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO GET IN ONCE THEY DO. We’ve eaten at street food vendors to Starred restaurants around the world, this was one of the best. RUN, don’t walk, and enjoy Aleria’s offering to the Culinary World today so you can say “I was there when . . . “ I took no photos of the meal except for the palate cleanser, the butterfly accent was just too amazing not to document!!

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon in Greece and Aleria provided our best food experience from our trip. They are a Michelin star restaurant and lived up to that! Service - A+++ They are on top of everything when it comes to service. Very attentive with refilling drinks, replacing your plates and silverware, seeing if you have questions/need anything, and checking to see you’re happy with the food. They even offered to call us a taxi for pickup and walked us out to the taxi when it arrived. Menu - large variety of drinks to choose from. The food menu is limited to specific courses for vegetarian and non-vegetarian. While that may make someone very picky hesitant, read this next section before you let that impact any decisions on making a reservation. You can pick from a variety number of courses. Food - A+++ They live up to the Michelin star rating with the flavors of the food. My wife and I are big time foodies and we were very impressed with the amazing flavors of the food. I personally am not a seafood fan outside of sushi and I really enjoyed the seafood courses. We did the non-vegetarian 7 course meal and loved it. Probably our favorite meal while in Greece. Cost - This is a high end restaurant that offers top tier service. You should expect to spend no less than $100 per person. $150 per person if you’re getting drinks with the food. But it’s absolutely worth it in our opinion. We highly recommend reserving and enjoying a date night, special celebration, or just a nice and classy dinner at Aleria. Top tier food and service!

From the moment I stepped into this elegant Athenian gem, I knew I was in for something special. The ambiance effortlessly balanced sophistication with warmth—dimmed lighting, tasteful décor, and a gentle hum of conversation that set the stage for what turned out to be one of the finest dining experiences I’ve ever had. I had the pleasure of enjoying a 7-course tasting menu and the evening was truly unforgettable. Each course was beautifully crafted, balancing creativity, flavor, and presentation in a way that felt both refined and deeply satisfying. What truly elevated the experience, though, was our server, Panos. His service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and effortlessly professional. The pacing was perfect, the ambiance elegant yet relaxed, and the entire evening felt like a seamless journey through modern Greek gastronomy. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a standout fine dining experience in Athens— Go to Aleria and ask for Panos!

A Symphony of Greek Elegance and Warmth! Nestled in the heart of Athens, Aleria is more than a restaurant—it’s a sanctuary of taste, ambiance, and heartfelt hospitality. From the moment you step through its gates, you’re greeted by a peaceful hum of laughter and conversation, the kind that only comes from people truly enjoying themselves. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and every detail invites you to savor the moment. The culinary journey at Aleria is nothing short of enchanting. Each course is a masterclass in Greek gastronomy—curated not just to feed, but to awaken. The flavors are bold yet refined, rooted in tradition but elevated with modern finesse. And if you’re wondering whether to choose your own wine, don’t. Trust the sommelier. Their pairings are pure alchemy, creating a seamless dance between plate and glass that heightens every bite and sip. As the sun dips below the horizon, the courtyard transforms. Delicate lights twinkle in the trees, fairy-lit ornaments cast a gentle glow, and the entire space feels like a dream woven from warmth and wonder. It’s romantic, serene, and utterly magical. A special acknowledgment must go to Panos and the entire Aleria team. Their grace, attentiveness, and genuine care elevate the experience from excellent to unforgettable. They don’t just serve—they host, guide, and delight. Let them take the reins. You’ll be glad you did. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or simply seeking a place to feel joyfully present, Aleria is a destination worth every moment.

We loved every single dish in both the vegetarian and meat tasting menus. They also easily accommodated my allergy. The meal ended with a pleasant surprise that we were not expecting and they also added a few dishes over and beyond our tasting menu. It was fantastic.
