Love this place, I visit once month at least. Its such an enjoyable brunch experience each time. The decor, atmosphere of the piano on the weekends and the service is always great! I cant wait to visit again!

Very nice atmosphere for brunch. Large restaurant but not super loud. There’s a place to sit at the bar for solo eaters as well as tables and booths. Our server was super nice and brought us a carafe of Coke Zero so that we always had a drink. Other waiters checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The menu had lots of fun and unique items we’d like to try in the future.

Great food, service, and atmosphere! I grew up going to Alexander's, but haven't been back in decades. The space looks great - Nice and modern and open, just a little bit cozy. It took me a long time to order because there were a lot of things that looked great. I got the beach club and it was amazing! Waitress was great also. Checked in regularly and promptly delivered drinks, refills, etc but didn't make us feel rushed.

This was my first time visiting this location, and I have to say—it was a great experience! Our waiter, Tailor, was the best—so nice and pleasant. He checked on us often to make sure we didn’t need anything. Truly top-notch service! Toward the end of our meal, two supervisors stopped by to check in, and they were just as friendly and welcoming. Do I recommend this place? YES, in all caps! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service made it even better.

The cafe exceeded all expectations. I am shocked by the excellent service. The food is delicious. The service is excellent. I will definitely be back again.

*Vegetarian* Must try the cranberry pecan pancakes, super delicious! Great place for brunch, with a very unique take on the omelette, i really loved it and thought it was great for vegetarians (*They say they use farm fresh eggs and not liquid eggs). Portions are more than sufficient, and the roasted potatoes are a must try. I’ll have to say, disappointed in the coffee. For a place with fresh eggs, fresh fruit juices and really tasty food, they did not have a proper espresso machine so the quality of my cappuccino was subpar.

Enjoyed Alexanders Cafe for the first time and had a very delicious breakfast that was made even better by the friendly service and bubbly atmosphere. This is the kind of place where you want to become a regular! Excellent food with delectable seasonal offerings and the best coffee!

I am a simple man. I usually get 2 eggs and some kind of meat. This place does a fine job and the other items I have tried off the menu are good as well. Usually not a long wait and has plenty of space even on Sunday. Staff is always friendly. Only complaint is that it can be on the pricier side but that's just the price of doing business nowadays. You could definitely do worse for breakfast.

Alexanders Cafe has been in Elgin for a while and is a favorite of the locals. Alexanders Cafe is a breakfast and lunch restaurant. When I visited I ordered the chocolate chip waffles and my mother ordered the margherita flatbread. The chocolate chip waffles came out with a fancy plating and tasted as good as they looked. The margherita flatbread was big and not as flat as I was expecting. It tasted more like a long pizza, but exceeded my expectations. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our server was kept busy but was nice and friendly. For a great neighborhood restaurant, I highly recommend Alexanders Cafe!

The menu is expansive. With that being said I'm not sure I made the best decision with the Chorizo breakfast burrito. It was presented well. Sliced avocado on top, Cholula Crema as well. When I dug into however there was a lot of folded tortilla, not a lot of tasty chorizo. The restaurant itself is large and updated. The hostess lady who gives you your 'trash bucket' sends a weird vibe however. All in all a brunch/breakfast joint with an big menu you just have to throw your dart at and hope you hit a bullseye

Alexander's was a great cafe spot with quick service and good food. Tried: banana bread French toast, butcher block skillet, breakfast tacos Loved: the breakfast tacos dish was the most loved in our group Liked: the banana bread French toast tasted just like warm French toast, without much batter on it.

This place is great. No complaints. We arrived around 7:30 am on Saturday morning. No wait. Food was generous and yummy. Exceptional service today. Some of us shared the food. The waitress pre split the portions so it would be less messy for us. They provided us with extra napkins and water pitchers since we had a group of 11 people. Nice ambiance.

A first time event occurred on our most recent visit to Alexander's- we ordered the same thing.The chicken flatbread was/is a fantastic dish.It was topped of with sweet potato fries and iced tea. Good Golly,Miss Molly, that is something to remembe.

I never leave reviews on places but i come here often and every single time it's great. food is always delicious, service is always great and the portions are huge + filling. The bussers are also consistently keeping the restaurant clean. Def a family staple.

My family and I have been going to this restaurant since it opened and the service has always been great. We've always been treated warmly and have had great service from the second we walked in until we left. Not today. My husband and I visited this morning for the first and only time together for breakfast. The young man who was the host was not professional at all. His demeanor was very brusk, his appearance was unprofessional this is not at all what Alexander's has been. Our server wasn't really friendly, either. Maybe it was just the day, but I've come to expect more from this restaurant because they've expected more from themselves.

Amazing breakfast! Huge selection. Great service. Most are big enough to share and you can get the fancy pancakes for small unchange. They service mimosas and bloodymarys. They had lunch food but i was interested in breakfast.

We stopped here for lunch after a frustrating drive around Chicago coming from east of Indianapolis. Glad we arrived in time before their 2:30 closing. The food was excellent. I had the half salad/half sandwich combo. Everything was extremely fresh and flavorful. I would definitely stop at Alexander's on a future trip.

Had the pleasure of eating here when I was in Elgin and it was sooo pleasant. It was normal people having conservations kind of loud, you could still hear the music. The staff was all so friendly. The mimosa flight was delicious and so was the food. The service was a tiny bit slow at times but nothing too bad. Would definitely recommended.

Always love coming to Alexander's, they use the best and freshest local ingredients and they have such a diverse menu it's hard not to find at least a half dozen things you'd want to try. The service is always good and very friendly as well.

We went on Thursday and there wasn't a wait time surprisingly. We ordered a peach iced tea and a strawberry smoothie but they bring u a complementary water jug. When they bring u food they also bring the sauces to put in the side. It was a very open area with nice lighting. Made us forget it was gloomy outside.

Super place for large delicious breakfast my first choice for food, service is always very efficient and waters very professional

Service was great. French toast was inconsistent- half was burnt and half was raw and wet. Truly a disappointment. The eggs were fried not basted, but the potatoes were perfect. Usually I have no problems eating here.

Inside is clean and seasonally decorated, stuff service is ok, and the food is good as well. Very traditional brunch/breakfast American restaurant. Their egg Benedict was nailed with melted York inside but their pancake was very dry.

Always busy but the wait is never too long. Enjoy the piano while you wait and bask in all the good smells from the kitchen :) We recently moved to the area and Lauralee has been our server twice and she is amazing. Her service is second to none. The manager was going to all the tables checkin on everyone and she genuinely cared about any and all feedback. She gave us good vibes and that she truly enjoyed working there, which always makes me happy to see. Even her staff seems to love working there. One server said he worked at the other location and this one is much better and I could tell he meant it. The food was amazing. The fresh squeezed OJ, bacon, sausage, and omg those pancakes with the cinnamon butter are nothing short of perfection. I would be interested to try a lunch option here one day but the breakfast is too good. I'm not a big egg person but they have great options if you are. Recently, we tried the biscuits and gravy and that had a good balance of flavor. The hash browns are golden, brown, and delicious as they should be also they are salted perfectly. I hate it when places don't do a little salt and pepper seasoning. It's a must! However, don't you dare skip on those roasted potatoes because they pack some flavor. It's exactly how you want them. This will be our regular spot and we will ask for Lauralee every time because she is such a sweetheart and a damn good server!

Service was effortlessly brilliant. Clearly a great meal. Just traveling, but if I'm ever in the area I'd be there every day.

The food and service are always amazing. One of my favorite spots to go to on a Sunday morning for brunch.

The interesting thing about Alexanders is how they do everything right with such a broad menu. The staff is excellent, everything you eat is great. I wish they were open evenings again.

We were looking for something different from the hotel buffet and this was across the street and had generally good reviews. The staff was very pleasant, it was clean and nicely decorated for a breakfast cafe. My breakfast panini with egg, bacon and avocado was very good. It came with a large portion of roasted potatoes that were also very good. My wife loved her banana bread French toast. The coffee was very good as well. We were not disappointed and did not need to eat lunch as we had more than enough.

Went here with a group of 8 friends, we all ordered something different and we all loved the food! Our server was wonderful. She even split the checks 8 ways, which I know can make things more difficult, but she did it with no problem. We wanted to make a reservation ahead of time, but they do not take reservations- that being said, for a group of 8 people, the staff was very accommodating & made sure we were seated comfortably & in a timely manner. We really enjoyed the piano player & comfortable seating in the lobby as well. I would highly recommend

We stayed at the hotel right behind here and did breakfast here every morning because it was so amazing! We came in as a group of 10-14 depending on the morning and they were so accommodating and provided amazing service, even with our size group. Every dish that came out looked and tasted so good, not one complaint from anyone on any food! They have an amazing tea selection (random, but being a tea drinker over coffee this made me sooo happy) and full bar for morning mimosas or other drinks! There is a bar for any solo travelers looking for a place to grab breakfast, but it is right in front of the door so may be slightly cooler in the winter (regardless, still worth the visit).

I have been twice and look forward to going again. The food is delish everytime! I always get the crepes But this time it was the Swedish with eggs bacon hash browns sausage. I didn't have to eat again! The orange juice is fresh squeezed. Service is excellent and everyone is friendly, it's a happy place.

Food is always good here. It does get crowded so be forewarned. I've never had a bad meal here. Give it a try!

Wow. Great experience. Gia was an excellent server and the shrimp avocado omelette was delicious. The servings were huge and the atmosphere was awesome. I cannot wait to go back.!!!

Looking for a breakfast place on our route, we stumbled upon Alexander's. Our server was Nikayla, and she was excellent. She was super friendly and always had our coffee cups filled. To me, the coffee was only just ok. Bacon was a little greasy, but I got a lot with my order which was awesome. The breakfast potatoes were big chunks of potatoes. My boyfriend got a side of French toast that came with this amazing cinnamon butter. We asked for hot sauce and she brought out 6 kinds! The bathroom was super cute as well. They had disposable cups for mouthwash and lotion. Prices were a little high, which is only reason why they lost a star. I did not order any on this visit, but they also had fresh squeezed orange juice that smelled amazing.

Great Food!!! They are only open until 2:00 but serve both breakfast and lunch. I usually go with corn beef hash skillet. They make the corn beef fresh so it's nothing like the canned corned beef hash.

Great breakfast food this afternoon! I got my Intelligista mocha and the breakfast platter. My mom and aunt ordered the chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. We were starved! We all enjoyed our food and our wonderful server.

It's been years since I've been here and don't remember how it was. I thought I try it again after all these years and was disappointed. The country fried steak was over cooked, hard and dry. The chicken was dry and the chilaquiles was salty. Probably skip next time. Our server is the best though. Sorry I didn't get her name. Kept checking on us and very accommodating thus the 3 stars I gave.

Visiting from California, staying at the hotel next door and went to Alexanders for breakfast, food was great tasting and service was outstanding. Very recommended

I was staying at the Courtyard Marriott behind the hotel and came here for dinner with friends. Being gluten-free I don't often see gluten-free pancakes as an option, so I went for breakfast for dinner: gluten-free pancakes, scrambled eggs, well done bacon... and Woodford Reserve Bourbon (it was dinner time after all). The pancakes came and it was 4, huge pancakes! They were light and fluffy and delicious. Service was friendly and my friends enjoyed their dinners as well.

Kayrn is the best server at Alexanders. She remembers how I like my Chai Latte, and is quick to accommodate our large group. The kids are always happy with their meals and the price doesn't strain our budget. Their wide selection never fails us. They have something for everyone without sacrificing quality; which can be hard to do. We can't wait to sit out on the new outdoor patio!

Second time visiting here. I had to bring my mom since the last time she wasn't with us when we came. She ordered the shrimp omelette and I had the prime rib French dipped sandwich since it was so good the last time I tried it. I let my mom have a bite, she looked at me and said I hope you don't expect to get this back! She ate half my sandwich! Sooo good! Sue was amazing. This place really feels like home, great ambiance amazing food and the staff are so nice and friendly!

Nice modern restaurant. Seasoned staff was welcoming and engaging. Biscuit was made from scratch and was light and fluffy. The gravy was light and seasoned ok. It was not the best gravy but it was pretty good. Needed more sausage chunks. Eggs were perfect, crispy hashbrowns were actually cooked crispy then onion added, which was the highlight. Usually you say crispy hash-browns with onion and you get mushy crap. Sausage links were ok. The bacon was very good, but small pieces. Overall I would stop again. ALSO reasonable prices.

Went here on a weekday, expected a typical Greek type of family restaurant. I was impressed upon entering, it is very nice inside. Good breakfast & service but nothing that blew me away.

Had breakfast here last week on a Friday Morning. Service was prompt and they take the social distancing serious! We ended up in a big booth all to ourselves and had the plexiglass on it to divide booths. We even noticed a server cleaning the plexiglass in between tables so I know they are disinfecting and keep clean there. Bonus points for that! Bigger menu to choose from. This restaurant has a Mexican type of flair to its menu. Coffee had a very odd taste! My father in law also said something so I knew it was not just me. He never complains! Lol. They offered a military discount which I love- bonus points! Service was friendly and she made suggestions. Prompt and food came out in timely manner. Would definitely dine in again! I had the red velvet crepes for V day and they were good! My father in law got a corned beef hash skillet and was stuffed when he left! He really liked his.

Arrived at 11:05 A on a Saturday with our family of 4 and were told we had a 15min wait. Checked in after 30min and was told we were next. Another 15 min later someone was seated that arrived after us. Went back to the host stand was told that they had us down for 6 instead of 4. Three staff members at the host stand and they completely dropped the ball. We were seated after 45 min and greeted by our server. Said she'd be right back. Another 15 min goes by and she returns we provide our entire order. She brings our drinks quickly and we waited 20 more min for our food. The food was as expected - tasty. Spent another 20 min looking for our server to pay our bill and ended up going to the bar to pay. Could have easily walked out without paying at 1PM. The food is decent but order to go -- the staffing here is extremely lacking.

The ambience the staff the food was very well set... if yous are anywhere near the Dundee Elgin Illinois stop in ask for hailee (our server) very kind and polite and a great smile greeting everyone ... had biscuits n gravy and applewood smoked bacon... now I can say that Illinois and the chicago and surrounding areas have the best food but then I biased about chicago and it's foods... just stop here you won't be disappointed.... Peace out be safe people...

Had the Farmers Market skillet and it was absolutely delicious. Also had the gluten free pancakes which were probably some of the best I've had !

Cute fall outdoor decor led to beautiful live piano music as we entered. Cute decor, wooden floors & tables, plus an overall energetic vibe! Thanks to Yelp's Waitlist feature, our 25-30 minute wait was cut to less than 10 minutes. They have an extensive menu (eggs, pancakes, mimosas, oh my!), but we finally settled on the Alexander omelette, hash browns and pumpkin pancakes, as well as the requisite cafe Bloody Mary & mimosa. This is, after all, vacation! Our food arrived VERY quickly (felt like we blinked & it was there). The server knew we were splitting the meal, so she had the order on 2 plates when it was served (without our even asking - thank you!). The omelette, with bacon, goat cheese, caramelized onions & roasted red peppers melted in our mouths. The hash browns were crispy. The star of the meal were the pumpkin pancakes, accompanied by cinnamon butter. WARNING - the pancakes contain walnuts (we weren't made aware when we ordered nor was it posted on the entry chalkboard). However, this didn't detract too badly from our overall enjoyment. Side note - don't mistake the mason jar with blue liquid in the bathroom as soap. It's Listerine!

Finally tried this place. At first I didn't want to wait, I am so impatient, but hearing the regulars make comments like : Typical Alexanders so full because it's so good etc SO that made me hold on and wait. And yep it was worth it. I had the greek bloody mary, which I thought it was nice to see a simple drinks menu that pairs great with breakfast, it's mainly breakfast items I noticed. Anyways usually bloody Mary's in the area are your typical, too much tomato juice and barely any vodka. This one was perfect, the cucumber vodka they use was really good and I liked the garnishments. We had the Elvis waffles that are stuffed with bacon, very good. Ham on the side which was really good and then chicken tenders. I really liked the batter they used. Anyways will come back. And highly recommend. Also they were so attentive and nice.

We had a fantastic brunch the morning we went the service was great and food was fantastic as well!!

Update: we finally got to try it in person and dine in. The inside is very beautiful and cozy. The environment is warm and took us by surprise! The hostess in the front was something else. We had to repeat the groups name at check in multiple times because she was too busy listening to something on her air pods. She doesn't greet anyone that comes in because she's on her phone. The worst thing is that the restaurant is completely busy! There was no down time but she made sure after every name given at the podium, she went to her phone. Then another young gentleman walked by, possibly a busboy also with headphones in. At the lobby, you can also see at least half of the kitchen staff working on the food either don't have a mask on, or using it as a chin diaper. The food was actually good and the restaurant was surprisingly very nice. The service was utter garbage and that is about it for us. We probably won't be back.
