We had a great experience at Alexandria Volkswagen with Dean Reyes. He took the time to sit down with us, listened to what we were looking for, and even had the car we wanted ready and pulled up for a test drive. Since we had our own financing, the process was quick and smooth. The only disappointment was having to pay $900 for brakes and rotors so the car could pass Maryland inspection. Service departed damaged my wife's 2023 Black Atlas Twice: 1st time they hit the gate and then had to keep it several days to fix it and did not provide a comparable car for my family of 6. Additionally, the service department communication was terrible. If I didn't call them I would never hear a word. 2nd time they puncture a hole in the leather seats and I believe it happened due to the technician rushing to complete the recall issue on Saturday after I dropped the car on Thursday and they had not touched it or called me for two days and I called to inquire after texting for two days with no response. Lastly, when I went to pick The car up on Saturday I was locked inside the gate after the technicians left me when I went to use the restroom And the car wash guys had to get my car out from 6 cars deep like they did not know I was coming. I left a note for the GM Mike Welsh to call me to discuss the Service issues and he didn't think I was important enough to reach out to me. So initially I was told my car could get corrected on Wednesday of last week. It Monday and I still Don't have an appointment to get my wife's seat fixed. I would tread lightly with this dealership. They are convenient but not really service oriented and communicative. They also like to break stuff so they can fix it. Well almost fix it

BEWARE OF THIS SHOP. John at Alexandria VW attempted to make up unnecessary repairs in order to charge me thousands of dollars more than necessary when my alternator failed, causing all other systems to limp to a halt. I had to steer their service rep to the actual problem that they probably wouldn't have told me about unless I specifically directed they look at it. They were not able to immediately tell me if the alternator or battery were bad. When I directed them to install an alternator, they did not have one available and would have to wait a week. I realized they did not intend to get the car working with the least amount of parts and time as an honest shop would. I was horrified and retrieved my car. Went to another mechanic nearby and fixed the problem with a new battery and alternator in a matter of hours for under 1k. The car runs better than ever. The fuel problems were COMPLETELY fabricated. When I wrote a review with my testimony, they denied taking my car in and somehow had my review removed three times now. Providing receipt for proof.

I have given this place great reviews on other sites because Rob was great to work with and continued to be helpful after we bought the car. However, I have had too many unpleasant interactions with the finance team --or at least one person from the finance team-- to leave those good reviews as my only input. On my last experience she was rude and condescending and absolutely refused to actually help after I had spent over $50,000 on a car there just a few months prior. I would avoid dealing with this place; I definitely won't be going back for another car there.

A big part of my decision for selling my VW and leaving the VW brand entirely was this dealership. Over the course of the ownership of my VW this dealership: -Needlessly upsold me on replacing 2 tires after I clipped one while at very low milage (tried to tell me the OG tires were no longer manufactured). They ultimately installed wrong tires (smaller car tires on SUV) creating a safety hazard. When I called them out on this the right tires were magically back in stock. -They told me they do not replace windshields, when they had previously replaced a windshield for me and had in fact previously insisted that I -must- go through them for glass repairs to keep warranty. -They tried to charge me for diagnostics after telling me there would be no charge for diagnostics under warranty ... and when the time came to finally sell my car and move on from VW, they low-balled me on their buy-back price by several thousand dollars.

I stopped at one other dealership before coming to Alexandria VW. I liked this ID.4 better and I really wanted to give a place a better review, but there are a couple key issues that I had, and they completely changed my mind. First off, our sales person Daniel was friendly and engaging, all the way up until the moment that I told him we were using our own financing because it was a full percentage point less than their financing. At that point, he became cold and distracted and wandered off. I was on the phone with my bank securing financing and I had to write some things down so that I knew all of the information to pass on to Alexandria VW. It was stressful because it was close of business for the bank and I had 5 minutes to secure it and get everything settled and Daniel had disappeared. I had to go and ask him for a pen, and he was standing by the window moping and staring out at the parking lot. Instead of helping me, he just pointed me to a desk up front and told me to go ask them. He informed me that they generally charge $1500 extra if we use our own financing, but that he was going to cut me a break as long as I left a Google review, so here we are. After sitting at the table for a while, we were wrapped up, but I couldn't get him to come back to the table... So I had to go find the financing guy myself and that guy was very nice, and was a little taken aback that Daniel had just left us there. He could not be bothered to help much with the car, to the point where he screwed the license plate on the back and started to put it on the front but then just walked away so it blew off in the street and my husband had to run across traffic to go get it a few miles down the road. In addition, when I sat in the car and realized that the lumbar module was not functional, he lied and said he could feel it working, when in fact, it was completely broken, and I had to take it to another dealership a few weeks later to have it repaired. Now the next issue had to do with getting permanent tags. Once they told me they sent them out, they never arrived, so I had to keep checking back in. I was finally informed that they were never sent out and there was a valid reason and I needed to reach out to the MVA, but that would've saved me several weeks. At that point, my temporary tags were expiring so I had to get extended tags. Now the second pair of extended tags were expiring, so I called back again and they told me they already sent them out... But they didn't. Now I'm calling back once more, and they are suddenly overnighting them to me, except they arrived about a week later standard USPS ground. They arrived the day my extended tags were fully expired, and at that point, I was very frustrated with them and it was way harder than it needed to be. Another issue is that my husband drove all the way to Alexandria to bring them the check from the credit union, and my husband didn't know that he also had to sign it, but he had them look over it and they said everything looked great and so he left and came home to Baltimore... And then they called me the next day to tell me that he was supposed to sign it. They then had to send it to me and we had to sign it and then send it back (again, all USPS molasses ground), but why didn't they notice that? This is not their first rodeo. The one upside is that the finance guy, I think his name was Joe?, was very friendly and helpful, and the signing process was made much easier since there was not a massive stack of paper, but his entire desk was a screen and so I could read everything and I didn't have to think about all that paper waste.in the end, I love my car, but it has absolutely nothing to do with VW of Alexandria.

He was very responsive to my multiple questions, attentive to our needs, and was prompt to any requests. If I need to go buy a car again, i would most definitely go back to Dimitri. Purchased a car from this location in October. I had a poor experience when purchasing this car, but it was pretty standard for car shopping. A few weeks later, I noticed a whistling sound in the vehicle. Brought it in to service at this location, learned it was an issue with how the windshield had been replaced at this location. Windshield replacement was not mentioned when I purchased the vehicle. Agreed to have the issue fixed at this location since it was covered under warranty, and asked for the car to be further inspected for any water damage. Service confirmed that there was no water damage after inspection. Two months later, I have an issue with a light on my dashboard. I bring it into a different Volkswagen service location where I was informed that there was extensive water damage in the vehicle requiring $1500+ in repairs. I am incredibly disappointed with my experience at Alexandria Volkswagen both on the sales and the service side of things. I would not recommend using either departments at this location, and I regret purchasing the car that I did with them after experiencing so many issues with getting the damage resolved.

We had a very poor experience at this dealership. We worked with a salesmen who was very nice and informative. Financing was take a long time and we were concerned how long we would have to wait. We spoke to who I assumed was the manager. He never did introduce himself or even say hi. When we explained that the financing was taking a long time, he was rude and just said well you have to wait. I tried to discuss other arrangements like driving an additional two hours and come back the next day, and he continued the rudeness and was very unhelpful. Unfortunate to start with what looked to be such a great experience with a nice salesperson but to lose the customer with how management treats them.

The customer service here is absolute trash. I saw the car I wanted on Capital One's website. I intended to finance through them. I called and spoke with Atiq. I made an appointment to come in and see the vehicle at 7 that evening. I told him I was definitely getting the car, whether I used my financing or theirs. I got there at 6:45 and Atiq told me I could wait outside. Uhhhh, no. I opted to go inside and ask for the paperwork to get started while he finished up with his customer. I finished the paperwork and told Atiq I was ready to see the car. He shuffled around and mumbled something and kept talking about the numbers. I told him that was all well and good. But I wanted to see the car while it was still daylight. After an hour, I finally get to the car. It's nice! But it's all blocked in. Now, I'd made an appt and made it clear I was getting the vehicle. Why was it not ready?!? He finally gets it moved out. He hands me the keys and tells me to test drive it. I asked him to come with me because I want him to explain features. He does and does a good job of telling me about the car. That's nice. I get back and I am SURE I want the car. Well, Atiq takes forever to shuffle around and we talk about my trade. Which is valued at $7000, at least. They offer me $5k initially. Naw. So then they come up to $6k. Still not good. But I relented. So Atiq just begins sliding me paperwork and telling me to sign. I ask what I'm signing because everything at that point seems very up in the air. Am I using my financing or theirs? If you use theirs, the car is the internet price. Use your own? It's $1000 higher. So I go with theirs and vow to just refinance with mine in a few months. FINALLY get the car. I'd asked Atiq if they were going to gas it up for me during the test drive, seeing the gas was low. He said they would. I get it and it's on less than a quarter tank. Now, I don't know this car yet and I have to drive back to Silver Spring. And it's 10 at night. Instead of gassing it up for me, they give me a coupon to present for $15 worth of gas. At this point, I'm tired. I take the coupon and go. That gas station is closed. I had to find somewhere else to get gas at my own expense. I called back and spoke with Atiq the next day. He told me I can come back and get half a tank when I'm up there after I told him I was disappointed in how I was treated. He told me the deal hadn't gone through so they didn't gas up the car and then it got too late. Sir? Eff you. And then he had the NERVE to ask for a 5 star review. Sir, the car gets 5 stars, you get 1. I love my Audi, hate this dealership.

Avoid this deceptive dealership at all costs! I searched their website and narrowed down my choices, and made my long drive from Maryland to Alexanderia. The dealership is very small as compared to others and becareful where you park. The actual dealership on the inside looks very dull and industrial. Lackluster, as compared to the others I've been too. While browsing, I meet Nasir , who would be my sales guy. From the start I got not so good vibes. I showed a photo of the car I was interested in, he got the keys and gave them to me. He then was like ok, you test drive and come back. I'll be here. Ok, I was hoping he would sit along with me, and tell me more about the car. Nothing. In fact he told me that the car is not certified used. He said it's a typo ? Well that's a major typo! Then my friend who is also a mechanic on the side, pointed out damages that looks like it was in a front end fender bender. Then a lot dings all over the car. Nasir, boldy stated, car is as is. Take it or leave it. So with that attitude, I was leaving but until I spoke with the manager. I go in, and ask for a manager, in which I was told he is off. So no managers work on a Saturday?? Then a manager came and I said my peace. From the get go, I already had a bad feeling that I wasn't finna get any resolution in my favor. I sure as he'll wasn't gonna trade my car in, nor buy a car. A day later and that car that I was interested in, is still on their website. I'm glad for my bad experience because I found a beautiful car, and bought from an awesome salesperson, and an awesome dealership, that review will come shortly. As mentioned before, avoid this dump, and go to LINDSAY of DULLES!!

I wish I could give a negative 10 to this place because I am at my wits end! This place is a MAD HOUSE!!!! Parking, arriving and getting my car serviced has been a nightmare. I made an appointment and upon arrival I am only permitted to work with a specific service rep even though there were 4 other people there without any customers. When 'my' rep comes on the scene he's friendly enough but attempts to up charge me for some fluid to "clean" the engine, I decline. I brought my car here for a routine oil change and tire rotation and 2 and half hours later it's ready...BUT 'my' service tech wasn't available for me to check out, until about 15 minutes later! Then I'm told the car is done but still needs to be cleaned. Another 30 minutes go by and come to find out the car has not moved since the service BECAUSE THE MECHANIC DROP MY KEYS INTO ANOTHER CUSTOMERS VEHICLE!!!! It took them another 30 minutes to figure that out. So now I'm waiting for this customer to return with my car keys so I can leave this place!!! Did the service department send someone out to get my keys or even think to do that...nope! So another poor customer is suffering due to the poop show that is this VW service department! I'm waiting to speak with a Mike Walsh, the person in charge. I'll update the review if anything changes but I expect nothing!!! Lastly, if you live in DC and are thinking about this place to service your our VW, DON'T DO IT! Drive the extra 15-20 and save yourself the frustration! Update: the management team there at VW Alexandria acted pretty quickly to resolve my issues and understood my valid complaints! I have been refunded and have my next oil change on them, even though I am moving to Colorado! For that I will update my rating to 4 stars for their professionalism and courtesy! Price gouging "unicorn cars" to take advantage of customer. 15k markup on cars for "market demand". Sticking with Lindsay Volkswagen who know how not to disrespect customers with absurd predatory pricing. Don't tell em you "can't" even give the not-really-a-deal MSRP and it's to "protect" against a buyer reselling a vehicle for profit. That's on the customer. They just want to get their bigger price of the pie at my expense. If a local buyer walks in and a car is available, allow them the courtesy of treating them like a valued buyer. I feel bad for the chump who pays 62k for a Golf R. You know what is being charged for these sports editions of your cars. It's pretty clear that going above MSRP is conveyed as some kind of deal.

Alexandria VW does not take their customers' concerns seriously, laughs in their faces, and engages in questionable business practices. Please heed the following tips: (1) Do yourself a favor and look for a different dealership. Unfortunately, picking a VW dealer in the DMW area is like choosing between the plague and cholera based on the reviews. (2) Take photos of your vehicle before it goes in for service. The dealership does a poor job marking damage on the car before it goes into the shop and once it is in there you have no way to check whether their mechanics caused any damage to the vehicle. In this particular case, the car was plausibly damaged in the shop, a suspicion that was strengthened by the staff's response when pressed about the possibility of the car being damaged by their mechanic. "These things never happen! Your car got hit! Your car has damage all over!" Based on other reviews, Alexandria VW damages cars and does not own up to their mistakes. (3) Take your car to a shop that will assess any damages or malfunctions without charging you $174 if it turns out the issue is not under warranty. You are at the mercy of unscrupulous people who are happy enough to take your money simply for plugging your VW into their computer. At least, they kept saying that is all they did... Again, look at other reviews that detail the poor workmanship at Alexandria VW and show their mechanics do not always go by the book, as the service manager kept claiming. I cannot stress enough how poorly the service representative (Mr. Perez) and the service manager responded to my concerns. They kept insisting the only way the issue could have occurred is if the car got hit, which it did not. The issue arose spontaneously. The service manager literally said that in his experience issues with the front assist systems were always the result of the car getting hit. Seriously? Radar sensors and software on cars never malfunction? I will spare you the other falsehoods that had to pass for good advice that were thrown my way. Worst of all, Mr. Perez and the service manager on several occasions laughed in my face. The people at VW Alexandria played me for a fool. Then again, it was foolish of me to put my trust in this shady dealership.

I cannot recommend Alexandria VW enough, and you've got to work with Jamall! It's been almost 10 years since I went through the process of getting a new car, and working with Jamall was hassle-free, totally transparent, even took two hours less than the last time I was negotiating a deal at a dealership! Jamall is very knowledgeable about each of VW's vehicles and not only left me assured that I picked the right one, but worked with me and for me to make sure I got it for terms I was comfortable with and that were fair based on current market conditions. I will definitely be going back for all service and any future needs!

This dealer is super shady. I had given them all my personal information and even credit card info for a pre-order on a 2022 VW Golf R. They were supposed to contact me in November to pick color and options; then finalize my order. Covid happens and I guess that VW corporate changes their policy to only all each dealer one of these cars. Originally they were allowed 5 customers, I was number four. Today, the Golf R was finally announced that it was being shipped out to the US. I called the dealer about my pre-order and they informed me they were not getting one. But if I wanted it was mine. Of course I said YES! About 20 minutes after they verify my info to be current since we last spoke, they told me to come in to the dealer to sign the paperwork. I was super excited until I sat down and say the new price... They decided to take my original paperwork that stated MSRP plus delivery and tax/tags/title AND add a huge surcharge. The price was literally 20-25% higher than we had originally agreed on. After speaking to a couple of their staff, they gave me excuse after excuse. They did not want to take any ownership for their failure to communicate with me about all this information they had. I will never go here again. I would never recommend anyone to even step foot on this lot. They have 0 integrity, and even less communications skill.

Good morning xxx, sorry for the delay In getting back to you but i have been swamped. Back story is my daughter relocated to Alexandra she is teachiing in DC. She has my my wifes 2014 Passt TDI. The car broke down and we had it towed the dealership. Almost 3k in repairs , she has it back for less than a week and it broke down again. The service dept changed the the low pressure fuel pump and not the high pressure fuel pump that the code signified. We were told they would credit service cost to a new lease. We decided to switch to a used car as my daughters income in limited as a first year teacher. When we told the GM that was the plan was to go with the used car they withdrew the offer. So clearly there was no credit from the dealership, and they were just using VW america credits for new lease rather than giving us back credits for the service work performed. So unless the dealership gives us credit for the improper work performed, we will not be proceeding with any purchase from Alexandra VW.

please stay away from this dealership. sold me a lemon. bought a used vehicle from them and took it to another dealership to get a diagnostic and was informed that the vehicle had 7 years worth of work not completed on the vehicle. put a total of almost $4000 into the car before being told my pistons are damaged and itll be another $6500 to fix it. so please by all means avoid this dealership.

This place is the epitome of mayhem & foolishness. Per the incoherent response by management below, I can tell you that what's being stated is simply false. The language in the paperwork I received at the conclusion of my visit here was just as incoherent. Customer service = zero stars Communication = zero stars Professionalism = zero stars Honesty/Integrity/Ethics = zero stars Quality = zero stars I could go on and on; the other subpar reviews are on point with my experience this past week. Dealt with 4+ people in one day, no one was capable of communicating with their peers, let alone with me. Couldn't answer basic questions when I called repeatedly for updates on my car (which was brought here initially for photos of the paint quality issues that were to be provided to VW Care/Corporate) and the front desk person who checked me out couldn't even speak to the type of oil they used for the oil change. They talked me into a 10k servicing that wasn't needed (car is new and has 5k miles) and not only did they not top off fluids but they left the cap off to the washer fluid tank. Great work, guys! Employee of the month worthiness right there. Not capable of troubleshooting my Airplay issue, simply had a tech plug in his phone to "test" and no diagnostic was done. Don't read the Google reviews; their owner/service manager Mike Welch wrote one of their reviews in recent years. On that note, Mike won't call you back if you leave him a voicemail. And, he doesn't care about anything but making a quick buck. Car wasn't running smoothly when I got it back so took it to my trusted shop to ensure these jackwagons didn't screw anything up. Turns out in addition to the above, the root cause of that was that VW Alexandria likely disconnected my battery causing issues with the adaptive technology and the need for the car to re-baseline (reset) settings. Bottom line, come here at your own risk. Do research and get a word of mouth referral. This place is a nightmare.

I've owned VWs for 20-25 years and been using Alexandria Volkswagen on/off. It's gone downhill every year over the last decade or so. The heyday of the service department was under the leadership of a woman manager, who I wish still ran the place. Those were the five-star days. I do not recommend these days unless no other choice.. The most helpful people are those who are outside the service center directing customers where to park. As for the service center half the people who greet customers appear to be high and/or argumentative. Most don't want to problem solve -- often the answer to any question: we don't know and will need to charge you a fee to figure it out. A windshield wiper fixed? A radio replaced? Really? And the $190 " just to see see fee" doesn't apply to the service itself. It's a separate cost to labor and parts -- talk about robbing your customers. When you make appointments, they are just drop off times. The assumption is everyone either takes the metro or has somebody to drive them to and from ... anyone who is single plan to wait and wait. Making an appointment does not mean anything more than a time to drop off your car. Oil changes you cant make an appointment anymore. Your wait time can be hours which completely contradicts making an appointment when you are able to make one. Efficiency is not a word I would use to describe this service center. I've used other VW service centers in Virginia and Maryland and they all are leaps and bounds a better experience -- way more efficient, informative, customer, oriented and respectful. The last time my oil was changed, they forgot to reset the computer so I had to go back for what should be a standard checklist item upon completion of a job. I called to ask what i could do to fix it and was told it was complex. When I arrived in person, a technician showed me how easy it was to reset the computer. Holding two buttons for 10 seconds... This issue of my time being wasted/not factored into the equation is a theme. A burden feels constantly put on me when I do business here. That's why I give them two stars. For the prices they charge it should probably be a zero star.

Completely unprofessional!! The dealership does not hired qualified or professional employees. Everyone from sales to service was horrible to deal with. The sales person, Reem, didn't know anything about the car she was selling. The receptionist just transfers you to voicemail, which is a waste of time because nobody returns calls. Both the new (Chris) and used (Marcelo) cars sales managers completely avoided my calls and refused to help with my issue. They passed me off to the service manager (Mike Welch) who also refused to return my calls. The service department messed up the tint application, making the windows too dark to pass inspection and they refused to even discuss options on how to move forward. I was left to deal with the problem on my own. I would recommend you find another place to do your business.

I've been back many times before. Today was a great example of how things should be expected. Superb professionalism in the front end followed by a knowledgeable Mechanic that really made me feel at ease......Unfortunately everything became horrible! My car was returned with stains and I was directly lied to by Mike Rush! My car Reeks of mold! My electronics glitching because of the water damage! "Nothing's Perfect" -Mike Rush. On top of that, none of my repairs which happen to be warranty work are working properly. Highly advise any customer to Take their purchases elsewhere. This dealership is not up to VW standards! Example* On a Sunday I arrived half hour before closing to pick my car up, Only to find the crew had left early after a pizza party. My car was blocked in the garage as it was confirmed by a young women in sales that it was strange they left early! Example * It was confirmed twice that my car was ready to go once by phone and in person. My cars pano roof had leaked and water had sat in the vehicle for 4 days leaving a horrible odor and possibly the start of Mold! After picking my car up, I notice stains all over the headliner and a "In your face smell of stale water odor"! Example * I've called 25 x's and left over ten messages and this is the platform the service manager chooses to respond to my concerns! They want to deny that I contacted them? We recorded every call! And say I've missed four appointments well it wasn't fitting to our standards to not know when the vehicle would be returned!! Yelp won't Lloyd me upload videos or audio files , FYI We will not be returning to this location!

I scheduled an appointment with Sascha and from the moment he walked up to me, I felt comfortable. He was very knowledgeable about the vehicles and more importantly about what I was looking for in a car. He was informative and walked me through every step. He was friendly and polite and answered all my questions. The entire car buying process can be intimidating, but Sascha made it seamless. I would absolutely recommend this dealership and ask for Sascha--he knows cars very well, and will meet you halfway to help you drive home your ideal car.

I worked with Sorrell and he was nothing short of amazing. He worked out an amazing deal with us. I originally wanted a used VW Tiguan within my price range. I took in my M3 to trade in and Sorrell ended up working out an amazing deal with us and I ended up getting a 2022 VW Tiguan R Line! He was polite, quick, and very helpful! I would recommend this dealership to anyone!
