"Alfi is an all-day wine bar and restaurant that seems to have forgotten its natural wine speciality. The low-intervention wine recommendations don’t quite hit the mark and the Italian-leaning small plates and pizzas are satisfying, but not special. Despite the delightful option to play boules on their covered terrace, it’s also located inside Spitalfields Market which feels less see-and-be-seen and more front row at the Flying Tiger sale. There are plenty of better options in this area but if you do find yourself in need of an urgent—and inoffensive—big group table within walking distance of Liverpool Street, this place will fit the bill.
