This Time Tomorrow Florence Review | Hotels Above Par

"Right on the doorstep of the apartment, Ristorante Alfredo plates up typical trattoria fare; locals eat here for the run-of-the-day menu and to gripe about their days with the no-nonsense staff who serve as much drama as taste."

We had dinner here on our first evening in Rome. We were lucky to get a table without a booking, but I strongly recommend reserving in advance, when we left, the line outside was very long. The service was very kind and attentive throughout. Drinks were excellent (Aperol Spritz, Hugo Spritz, and an Old Fashioned , all really well made). Food was tasty and flavorful; we tried from each other’s plates and were all satisfied. It’s not the “authentic homemade Italian” type of restaurant, but it doesn’t pretend to be either. Prices are moderate to considering the history, the name, and the atmosphere, center location, it felt acceptable. I read some reviews calling it a tourist trap, but honestly, if you know what to expect, it’s worth it. Classic ambience, good food, great service. All in all, I can recommend it for what it is – especially if you want to experience the famous Alfredo name in Rome.

I made a reservation to try the infamous Original Alfredo. I'm glad we did, reservations are definitely recommended. We did the set Alfredo menu, which I know makes it easier for the kitchen to prep so it's a good system. The server set up a little station in front of us, for a couple of the tables, that they were mixing the sauce together and handing right to us. The food was good, I could have eaten more, so don't expect a big full meal when choosing this option. The tiramisu dessert was also a small size. Staff were friendly, everyone was working well together like a well oiled machine. I don't need to go again but I'm glad we tried it out.

Nice, quiet atmosphere in the outside dining area. Food was delicious. Especially the zucchini flowers as an appetizer and of course the fettuccine Alfredo which is special to this restaurant. Reservations are necessary as I noticed people waiting for a long time on a line that did not have a reservation.

The servers are sneaky. Be aware! My daughter reserved this restaurant for us to try since she didn't have a chance the last time she was in Rome. The restaurant and its ambience make you feel it's a premium place to dine. We were greated nicely and instructed to sit in a room (on the right) with only 6 tables; quiet and feeling important! A veteran waiter gave us an intro and recommended the tasting menu. We rejected and told him that we will order 3 main courses and the famous Fettuccine Alfredo to share, instead. He immediately gave an unwelcome impression and told us someone else will be here to take the orders. We finally ordered a sword fish course, a ribey steak, Filetto 1955(see picture menu), and the Fettuccine Alfredo for a 3-person meal. When preparing the Fettuccine, the server would tell the recipients a story/history of the dish. He did it to the 2 tables prior to ours and the 3 tables after us; however, he didn't say a word in front of us when he was preparing the dish. What the heck does it mean? The meal finally came with good presentations but small portions. The food tasted good except the ribey was hard to chew. Our bill was €142 which included a 10% service charge, as indicated on the menu. When I was paying, the waiter asked me to enter tips on the portable card reader. I pointed to the bill and asked if the 10% same as the tip, he replied that's a cover charge. When I asked the difference between a cover charge and a service charge, he told me to forget about it. He didn't me to hold on to the detailed bill. In summary, the food was acceptable and good. I just have an impression that they try to up sale the €80 tasting menu. If unsuccessful, the waiters demonstrated unhappiness in emotions.

We just arrived in Rome from Florence and enjoyed a lovely dinner outside here. We arranged the tasting menu in advance with reservation (long line without one) which of course includes the fettuccine Alfredo. We all really enjoyed this classic dish. Each course ranged from good to excellent without misses. Extensive wine list that accommodates most pricey points. We love the wines from Bulgeri region. Service was top notch and friendly. Great atmosphere outside. One of the better meals and experiences we've had in Italy.

Heard that I wasn’t very good so was a little nervous but the original Alfredo was incredible and I had a wonderful night. The waiters and service was also excellent it was super fun having them make food table side!! PS: I really appreciated the waiter making sure all the portions of alfredo were equal, everyone at my table agreed that was super incredible and doesn’t always happen.

Worst experience I’ve had in Rome! Long story short… I was so excited to try the infamous original Alfredo and had high hopes. I made reservations months in advance and we ended up stuck in the corner table getting bitten by mosquitos. We had a rude unhappy server with no smiles, no introduction. He had a smug face the whole time as if we were an inconvenience to him. The antipastas and Alfredo lacked flavor. The noodles were so thin it was almost like chewing on mush. The extra black truffle shavings made no difference in the alfredo dish. I highly suggest saving your 25 euros if u ignore the negative reviews and end up eating here. The one good thing is the aesthetically pleasing interior. Other than that service and food are poor. Definitely over priced. Do yourself a favor, save your money and eat somewhere else. You’re not missing out. FYI: Always double check your bill. They added a Tiramisu and a cocktail that we didn’t order. When I tried to notify the server, he snatched the bill from my hand before I could finish reading the rest of the bill to him. And this guy had the audacity to ask for a tip!

Food was alright, this is the birthplace of Alfredo, the food was like baby food super soft pasta. Thought it would be different nothing special about it other than they dump Parmesan and mix it in. Wasn’t impressed would not go back. Lamb chops and sea bass were good
