"Alias is a sultry and sophisticated social club, offering signature handcrafted cocktails, the finest champagnes, and Executive Chef Jose Picazo's meze selection of Mediterranean fusion bites from Dolce Vita."

"In the depths of Dolce Vita resides Alias — a “secret social club” accessible via an unmarked hot pink door next to the Mediterranean hotspot (or down a secret stairwell in the back). Dolce Vita’s meze menu is still available for snacking, but as the night rolls on guests can look forward to a live DJ, VIP lounge area, and fruity drinks like the “Bubble-icious,” (vodka, raspberry, lemon) and “Fizzed,” a lavender rose-infused gin with lemon and sparkling wine." - Vinciane Ngomsi

"A Northwest nightlife artery gets an Eyes Wide Shut edge this weekend with the debut of Alias on 14th, a flashy new drinking den from the owners of Clarendon Pop-Up Bar and The Lot. Located in the depths of Mediterranean newcomer Dolce Vita, Alias opens Friday, April 29, with a bar program that showcases bubbles, fire, and billowing smoke, with an equally theatrical look to match. The 100-seat space that formerly housed jazz club Sotto also offers a dizzying count of Champagne options, out-of-the-box bottle service, and a one-page meze menu from Dolce Vita chef Elier Rodriguez upstairs." - Tierney Plumb

This place will surprise. Surprised my girl and her friends. Drinks were good and appetizers menus were ok. BUT WAIT..... We got introduced to the new menu (Thinks to the Manager and her friends from out of town👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😋. We all are definitely going back. I gave for stars only because of music. But if you go with the right people... drinks and good convo makes up for it.

Amazing ambiance at the bar, the food and drinks were beyond our expectations. we ordered the Paella and i swear to god i thought i was in Valencia 10/10. The staff were great & super friendly, the waiter kept checking on us every once and a while ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

What a cute little hide away. The decor was nice, bar was very nice and seating was well appointed with several options. Drinks were very good and Chole’ our server was Super!! On gave it 3 stars, the crowd was much younger than we expected.

Two of us were here with an RSVP this past Saturday to celebrate my wife's birthday. Less than 10 minutes after we were seated at our table, while my wife was in the bathroom, the hostess accosted me and told me that the table I was seated at was reserved and asked me to move to the bar. The thing is, the table was reserved for ME and in less than 10 minutes, she had already forgotten that she had seated me there. I had to politely remind her. Our waitress was absolutely terrible. She had a bad attitude and very clearly didn't care about anything but trying to make a quick and easy buck. Their craft cocktail list is small which is normal but they were "out" of two of them. How does a speakeasy run out of craft cocktails at 9:30 pm on a Saturday? Because they use pre-made mixes...Because they aren't actually craft cocktails. What kind of a speakeasy doesn't make their drinks on the fly? It didn't matter, the drinks they did make us were absolutely terrible. One thing you'll learn about DC, everyone charges $15 to $25 for mixed drinks and craft cocktails so make sure you go to a place that makes them perfectly for that kinda money. Alias is not one of them. The ambience is sincerely nothing special. There are way cooler spots in DC where you will spend less money and get better drinks and service. The men working the door were super friendly, kind l, funny and truly the only reason Alias is getting two stars instead of one.

This place is not worth the hassle of trying to park. The decor was cute. However, the drink menu was small and could have been more interesting. I tried to order something off the menu and asked for 3 whiskeys before I named one they had. The staff was friendly. We couldn't get a reservation until 9pm on a weeknight. When we got there the place was dead. Maybe it was an off night, but I wouldn't go back.

Hubby and I enjoyed this place. Our first speakeasy experience. Great vibes, great people and we loved our bartender "Jewel". She honestly makes the place super fun. Drinks were very nice. Didn't need many to get there. The food was delicious but not much as in portion. The only thing we didn't like was the place is super small so not a lot of room to even get to the bar to order drinks. You will have to stay and wait until someone gets up to even be seen by bartenders. The host in the reservation area stopped us with her mean voice to let us know the section we were walking towards you needed a reservation. Fine, but no need to be that stern as we didn't know. We were looking to see where the place lead to. We found you all on Tik tok no way we knew what was what but anyway. There was a woman who appeared somewhat part owner. She was incredibly rude to the bartenders who were so humble. Honestly, that would make me not patronize them anymore. One thing I hate is gross mistreatment of employees. I really hope green fur gets her attitude straight. Our great experience was solely because of the bar. I don't think I'll ever make a reservation there. It's two small. I would post visuals if I had pics but unfortunately I'm a reel and boomerang girl so you can't post those here

It was Friday at 8:30 and the music was so loud you felt like you were in a club. Would’ve liked it after 1130 but kinda wanted to hear my friend say… anything at dinner lol. When I arrived, the two hostesses couldn’t figure out who was seating my reservation, they passed me back and forth for 5 min then just had me stand next to the bar while they looked for menus. After being seated, We waiting 20 min, and finally ordered our first drink. My friend ordered a drink from the menu with lemon in it and there was so much lemon juice it made you gag to try and sip. I ordered a New York whiskey sour and I kid you not they brought me a drink with grapefruit juice, lemon and whiskey. It was as horrible as my friends drink and wasn’t a whiskey sour or a New York whiskey sour. The waitress didn’t come back for another 20 min for us to get a new drink, even so, the menu was so sketch (for ex, the Rose Champagne didn’t tell you the brand you were ordering like you were at a broke down college bar). We considered having food too as we planned, but between the service, drinks, and the way others faces looked when their food arrived, we were a bit horrified. Especially to eat half of the raw items on the menu. We decided to leave after an hour. When the waitress came back we advised we were leaving and they comped our drinks (which we had only tasted) which we were grateful for. I can’t imagine I’d ever return, but I think it a cute concept if they had better … everything.

I really enjoyed this place. The aesthetic, the drinks the deserts. The bartenders were very warm and welcoming, despite how busy it ended up getting. The one with the curly short hair was very tentative. The DJ was playing some 2000s R&B, so now I know where most of these tik tom mixes come from. Deff a good spot to pregame. I say pregame because we had plans afterwards, so we couldn’t stay long.

Yelp
Excellent food and drinks! The decor is beautiful! This hip and happening bar recently started karaoke on Wednesdays from 7-10pm and DJ music on the weekends. Latin, hip hop, etc. Amazing drink specials on Wednesdays! $5 house liquor drinks and $5 seltzers! The calamari was on point, and the menu looks so good that I want to try everything! My friend sampled a few dishes and said it was delicious! Bathrooms are clean and there's only a few stairs to get to the bottom where it's located. Staff is super friendly, and I've already returned several times!

Yelp
Come very picture worthy cocktails and lots of room for your big group. The cocktails were delicious and strong and definitley creative. A few of us got something that was served with a bubble from a bubble gun. So 5 stars for presentation! But at $16 each, the vibe of the bar was a little boring and not totally worth it. We were all there on a Thursday night and the DJ was great, but the dance floor (and the rest of the bar) was totally empty. There was really no one in this bar other than our group of 5 or 6 girls. Maybe try this spot on a Friday or Saturday?? Or if you have a big group and you want to try out a spot you know you'll all be able to get in to. I can see it being great with a good crowd, but an empty bar + pricy cocktails is not always a recipe for a wild night out.

Yelp
This place has shut down :( So sad to see it go, but the owner of Dolce Vita (next door) said it's been closed for a couple of weeks now.

Yelp
Alias is a cool spot, with stunning cocktails. The vibes on a Thursday evening were... well non-existent. We were a group of 5 and there were maybe 10 total people in the bar, including staff. They had a DJ, but clearly Thursday is not the night to come to Alias. The temperature inside was pretty warm in the reserved lounge area. We had to ask them to check on the AC a few times, which the staff very kindly did. They checked in with us a few times to see if things had cooled down. We all ordered cocktails and they were really well done and beautiful. I ordered the The Bubble-Icious cocktail. When it was served, the server brought a bubble gun to put the bubble on top which was very cool and "instagram-able". At the end of the day, a $16 cocktail needs to come with slightly better ambiance to be worth the trip. I'd consider coming back on a more popular night, but I'm worried I'd get even warmer with more people around.

Yelp
Came here for the soft opening about a month-ish ago. At first I was super ecstatic! What a cool spot with neat decor and a happening bar. I was definitely loving this speakeasy vibe. Well that vibe lasted maybe an hour as the place turned into a club with tapas/ food service at tables. My perspective on this place changed quickly and not for the best. We got some items to munch on. Majority of the food came paired with fried items that were not listed on the menu e.g. chicharron with the beef tartar...interesting touch but unexpected. Luckily the group I was there with has no dietary restrictions...but what if I had someone in my party who didn't eat pork?! Unfortunately, the fried pairing touch had another set back- the taste. It tasted old and stale..these items without a doubt were fried in cold oil. Finally the service...just HORRIBLE. Understanding it was opening night, we were very patient, but there was a lot that can be handled better with the service.

Yelp
Overall really enjoyed Alias for the cute aestetic and great cocktails. Came fairly early on a Friday night (maybe 830/9) and the bar was empty. Its hard to tell the vibe theyre going for. Given the bouncer out front and general decor it looks like a club but there were people in the back area eating dinner (the place is attached to Dolce Vita next door) like a restaurant and the pink door is kind of hidden so it feels like a speakeasy. All that being said, i loved my drink. I had the thai tea drink and it was so good and creative! Tasted like a marshmallow and was the perfect treat and the presentation was so cute. My friend had a champagne cocktail loaded with flowers. Delicuous and adorable! The bartenders were super friendly and attentive. Id be curious to see if this place turns into more of a lively club at night but definitely would come back for another delicious cocktail.

Yelp
Super cute spot! Went for date night with my fiancé & we enjoyed ourselves. We went a little earlier in the night so it wasn't packed. Found 2 good seats at the bar where the bartender was friendly and helpful. Suggested an old fashioned like drink to my fiancé and I just got a glass of wine. Our food came out rather quickly and although the portions weren't big, it tasted so good. We would recommend this place to our friends.

Yelp
What a RIPOFF with the MANDATORY 20% TIP. Ordered 4 Jameson Whiskeys in one order and they throw in a 20%, $12 Tip just to hand me over 3 drinks, since 1 was a double. I WON'T BE GETTING RIPOFF AT THIS PLACE AGAIN!!! I SUGGEST everyone argues and fights back about this!!!

Tetiana E.

Yelp
I won't lie, it's a nice place inside, great friendly staff. However, I don't know why people write about their good cocktail list, which is definitely not true. We tried 5 of your cocktails (there were only 6 options, yes only six) and we didn't like any of them) not enough sweetness, taste like nothing , etc.)

Monique M.

Yelp
Super cute speakeasy vibes! I'm a sucker for a good cocktail with liquor and either champagne or sparkling wine in it so naturally I ordered the Fizzed cocktail drink. It was pretty good, I'd come back and order more drinks again. Honestly I didn't stay at the place long just ordered a drink or two with friends but I'm rating it 3.5 stars for the decor and cocktails (which was a bit pricey starting at $16. When I return again I'll update you all about the food, DJ, and service. Stay tuned!

Yelp
Alias on 14th replaces Sotto, where you previously could catch jazz over drinks and candlelight. Alias is it's devil-horned EDM twin. Think sexy lounge spot for nightlife, with neon signs galore. The stage where performances used to be? Your very own private 'section' with velvet sofas. Discovered this spot after seeing their feature in Washingtonian. The pictures in the article don't lie: this spot is an Instagram destination for sure. Find the bright pink door. Came on a Thursday night for a night cap with girlfriends and we were basically the only ones in the place. They had a DJ playing remixes of both new and classics, so it seemed like they anticipated (or are used to) crowds. Here's to hoping it caters towards an older crowd and doesn't end up like a Salazar!

Yelp
Visited for the first time before Thanksgiving holiday when my best friend was in town visiting. Had an amazing night, met the owner and fantastic staff who kept us engaged and entertained throughout the night with superb Cocktails!

Yelp
I love the karaoke on Wednesday's w/ $5 cocktails and singing from 7pm-10pm. Will definitely go back with my friends and don't forget about the decor of the place, overall great experience.

Yelp
This is a great spot for a night out with friends. The decor is very cool and sleek, the drinks were delicious (especially their rendition of a Thai tea!) and the food was decent. I don't think enough people know about this place yet to really judge the vibes- it was fairly empty on a Friday night and nobody was dancing or anything - but hopefully that will change in the near future.

Sydney G.

Yelp
Checked out this new spot on 14th St. on a Thursday night. The vibe and the aesthetic are really cute... Lots of fun touches like velvet couches, floral stools, and lots of fun little elements to really up the environment. I will say drinks are pretty pricey ($16 plus for a cocktail). We didn't order any food so I can't speak to that but they did have a menu that offered interesting options. When we were there, we were one of just a handful of people in the establishment, which was surprising for Thursday night. Despite the fact that the room was mostly empty, the DJ was really giving it his all and kept turning up the music louder so we had to shout to be able to hear each other. if you're trying to catch up with friends I wouldn't recommend coming here for a chat. It definitely seems like they want it to be more of a dancy vibe. I could see it being a really fun place for a girls night out or a bachelorette party.

Yelp
Stopped by Alias with friends after dinner on a Thursday. Wasn't crowded at all. Definitely has a lounge vibe to it. Fantastic cocktails and the churros were good. Managers approached our table too many times to check in on us in a very short period of time (cleaned up unfinished drinks). I started to wonder if they were closing soon and wanted us out -- they said no. Not sure if they are owned by the same folks as Dulce Vita...but they do have the same napkins and a similar problem with overattentive staff.

Yelp
Interesting plates, lackluster on the cocktail scene. This is a place more for this new age 'vibes' patrons who want the photos and not the quality. Food wasn't bad, but that is likely since the actual restaurant is upstairs. I'll try them but these cocktails down here were boring and the bartender only knows the menu. Yelp
Came to this disaster on a Saturday night for a birthday get together. -Service was atrocious. Everyone was clueless and forgetful -There was some kind of flood -Drinks and food were wrong and took forever I'm in amazement that a place that is only open four days a week for 6 hours at a time is this dysfunction. 100% would not recommend. They need to call Jon Taffer.

Alexandra P.

Yelp
This place was really cute, loved the music up until about 11:30-11:45 when it switched over to a instrumental techno vibe (a Saturday night). But the drinks, vibes, atmosphere, and decor were all great. At one point everyone came together and did the electric slide to Before I Let go. Definitely would recommend, seems like it might still be a bit of a hidden gem.

Nahir C.

Yelp
Julio was a great server. Kind, attentive, great recommendations and speedy. We enjoyed the Kale Salad the most! Yea

Yelp
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. 0 Stars if I could. Drinks were terrible. Charged me $40 for a well vodka soda...seriously??? Lighting/vibes were cute and decor was nice but like what the f
