Fend Off Seattle's Winter Chill With Hearty Soups - Eater Seattle

"You might be drawn in by the chickens roasting over an open flame out back, or by the tacos, tortas, and burritos being plated inside. But when there’s a nip in the air there’s nothing more satisfying than having birria de borrego ladled into your bowl. This Mexican lamb stew is richly flavored and is guaranteed to warm even the coldest of hearts." - Jenise Silva

Google
Finally found a place that does California burritos like I used to get in LA. Got the carne asada burrito as well and happy with the meat portions. First time at this chain and the drive-through makes it pretty quick and convenient. Generous with the sauces on the side and packaged neatly.

Google
You know I compare places like this with places like fast food chains, and I don't have any idea how they stay in business. For what you get it is like their prices are stuck in the 90's. Like, does the owner know what inflation is? How can they charge so little and provide an item made of fresh ingredients, massive quantities and quickly!? I don't get it. It's confusingly pleasant to find one of these and to top it off it's open 24 hours. I feel like the owners of these places should be our congressional representation in politics. The country would be in a much better state of affairs if that were the case.

Google
Fantastic presentation when I got my food through delivery and has always been good for the most part, this restaurant chain only let me down in that the workers barely spoke English at the downtown location, one of them didn't even know how to say manager, he said "no manner" lol, and they never have tres leches when I'd order it and they'd give me a not so good flan instead and I think the flan cost less than the cake

Google
Everything is good here, the service is great, the food has flavor and its fresh, the menu has a lot of options and the cashiers are helpful by explaining the condiments it comes with. This place has the best prices in Burien no wonder they have a lot of cars in the drive thru each day. Shout out to the Amazing Employees that have the best attitude and are helpful, I can tell they love what they do. The owners of this place should be proud of making quality food for everyone to enjoy. Thank you

Google
These are the biggest burritos around! I love the sauces they have. Veronica and Mimi were super helpful and friendly. I also come here frequently with midnight munchies and they're open 24 hrs! The inside of the restaurant is small but clean. And there is a good variety of food to pick from. The portions are very generous.

The first time I ordered from DoorDash, it was amazing. Best enchiladas I’ve ever had the second time I ordered. It seemed like I ordered from somewhere different. There was not very much enchilada sauce far less beans and rice and even though I ordered Carne Asada, I got chicken. The fourth time I ordered it was pretty good. Today When I ordered there was no enchilada sauce to be seen. There were so little added soaked into the tortilla and it was very dry And there was barely any beans or rice. I would order far more frequently if I knew that I would get the same order every time because what I got the first time was delicious. I even put in the notes and the instructions to add a little extra enchilada sauce. But to no avail. Thank you

Google
I’ve been to this place many times and find it's worth the drive from West Seattle. I love that this place has many dishes that taste just like the ones in Southern California Mexican restaurants, more specifically San Diego. I haven't found another with similar tasting food anywhere else in Seattle. The California-style burritos, rolled tacos, and carne asada fries taste like the ones I've had, living in Southern California. It’s a nostalgic flavor for me. However, I do remember their salsas were not very good. I would always throw them out or just add a little chopped serrano and cilantro to it myself. This last visit, a couple of days ago, was different, though. Our breakfast burritos came with three salsas (roasted red pepper, tomatillo, and an orange one I couldn't recognize), all of which were delicious! They all were spicy and fresh! I’ve even craved them with other dishes. I don’t know when they started spicing up and favoring their salsas, but that was a great idea! The employees are always polite and friendly, and handle the orders quickly, as the drive-through is full every time I’ve gone. It’s always been a seamless experience for me, and I haven’t had a negative experience with them. This last visit on 08/01/2025 made me very happy with the new salsa surprise to go with my always delicious “San Diego style” burritos. If it's too spicy for some people, at least make it an option for the rest of us!

Google
Hit & Miss Standard Mexican food with a drive through! It’s not fast but it’s really convenient, especially if you’re looking for late night options. They have a ton of different selections, especially for a place with a drive-through. I had sautéed shrimp and my partner had the carne asada burrito and both were very very large portions and tasty. The beans and rice are fine. I remember a red sauce awhile ago but have only had the green sauce the last few visits.. Sauce is aiight, not that flavorful or hot but adds something to the food. I’m from San Diego and they get the carne asada California Burrito right ! French fries and everything. Sometimes there’s too much gristle. It smells and tastes like the real thing. The tortilla is delicious! One word of advice: their flautas never come right. Flautas are rolled flour tortillas and they’re serving them with fried corn tortillas, those are taquitos, which they sell! Delicious but not accurate now three times. I ordered taquitos and got corn taquitos so I don't know lol. I had the Al pastor weekend tacos and they were flavorless, dry, no pineapple, massive pile of dry scrambled flavorless meat chunks (not in a good way). Definitely not off any trompo and not cooked right.

Yelp
So good the best Mexican food on ambaum. Service is solid. Ambiance is drive thru Cali style. Five stars.

Brendon L.

Yelp
This is the best restaurant experience I've ever had in my life. Very thorough juicy meat. Fast service amazing is why I give it a five we just went to the Maria's concert. This is a great experience. The burrito was great. The S was great. The queso was great. The tacos was great.
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
Good tortas. Good salsa spicy and flavouring. Good aguas. Good in general. Lady was very nice.

Cheryl S.

Yelp
always fast and good I like the breakfast burritos and cheese tacos Never eaten inside. Looks like drive through or sit outside only?
google avatar

Anthony S.

Yelp
I've been going here for 3 years. I always order combo#9 with hardshell beef tacos. Not sure if it's the owner or Manager but when it's the nice older Hispanic lady with glasses at the drive through window, the food quality and service is great. I believe they changed the soft tacos and it definitely improved taste!

Craig H.

Yelp
The burrito was big, but had little flavor. They didn't give any sauces or toppings. I also ordered beans and rice which I couldn't eat because they didn't send any utensils or napkins.
google avatar

Cheol K.

Yelp
Super affordable price for a meal. Got the Birria plate which comes with two flour tortillas and rice and beans. Huge portion for $12. I only ate half of this meal and had enough for a dinner later. There is a self serve salsa and pepper area. The birria tasted good. Worthy of 4* given the price point.

Keilah L.

Yelp
I will never eating here again. The customer service was whatever but I found plastic inside of my order! I took a bite and there it was

Yelp
I don't know why I keep coming back here. I didn't know they covered. Literally covered everything in their crap guacamole and when I asked them to remake it I was told it's on the menu and they refused. I will never step foot in this joke of a restaurant again. Seriously. Forget this crap whole

james e.

Yelp
Fish taco dish was very good, and no matter whether you eat in or out, you're going to get a take away container. The sauces inside the store are a nice touch, very hot, homemade. The ambience is a little sterile and the lighting is spartan. I went in there because their line of cars outside was like six, for the drive-through, which tells you it's pretty good stuff.
google avatar

Josiah T.

Yelp
The food here is the best burritos and fries in town! Service is always top notch! The overall ambience if this place is astounding!
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
Some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Everything tastes off. Gross old oil flavor to all the food. I threw it all away.
google avatar

kelly P.

Yelp
Very inconsistent. Sometimes the food is good but when it isn't good it's really bad. Don't bother reaching out to them to let them know the food was weird and not good. They don't prepare the food there and can't answer any questions as to what is in the food. I ordered the Chile relleno burrito and the chili was red and the batter was completely burnt. There are so many good Mexican food options in Burien I'm shocked this one is surviving.

Jonah V.

Yelp
Great food and always comes in clutch late at night . They have a great set menu at any time of the night and day .
google avatar

Yelp
What a great place! For a family meal or for a large group! My wife and I love the food here very authentic and the service is great. It is operated by people that care which is sadly getting rare. My business also orders here for large groups of people and I can place an order a night before and pick up at 6Am and everything is ready 2 go !

Yelp
The best way I can describe this place is indie Taco Bell. It scratches an itch, so my 4-stars is based on that very particular craving of trash done well (this is a compliment). I will take one of their hard shell chicken tacos over certain other Mexican chains any day. I visited the Burien location for the first time this week on a whim, which was probably a mistake because their menu is huge, and the self applied pressure is real. I knew I had a hard shell taco craving, but for some reason I blurted out "chicken fajitas!" The server asked me something and I just said yes because i wasn't going to battle that tinny drive thru intercom and our language barrier. I managed to order some tacos too. Imagine my surprise to receive the heft of a massive burrito. Apparently a chicken fajita burrito, not a platter. It was all probably for the best since I am sure the burrito version was the best way to enjoy their fajitas. That burrito has literally provided me 4 meals. The tacos deliciously inauthentic. I am going to order online next time I have that nasty craving so I know all my options. Nachos? Taco Salad? It's going to happen at some point. Also, extra points for the early/late hours.

Yelp
Good food at an affordable price. Large selection of menu items. Drive thru can take some time when it's busy but that's due to food being prepared to order so it's always hot and fresh.

Yelp
Alibertos took over this location, which prior was a taqueria under different ownership. Alibertos is a local chain with (I believe) most locations in the south sound. Burritos are our game. They are somewhat odd at Alibertos. The Regular Burrito is a massive amount of meat, but without rice, beans, salsa or cheese. Pretty much just meat wrapped in a grilled tortilla. The super burrito (they have a name for it, but I forgot it), is hella-huge. It's also dominated by meat, and has a small amount of rice & refried beans. Some sour cream. No guac, not much cheese, no salsa. But, lettuce! Argh. Combine this lettuce with the tortilla wrapped in butcher paper (not foil), and we are in 2 star territory. The meats we've tried - carnitas, al pastor and steak are all forgettable. They are cursed with being tough, greasy and dry. Yes, greasy and dry. Another average disappointing PNW burrito experience. Enjoy!

Susan K.

Yelp
THIS IS THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD AROUND!!!! They are so kind and the food is delicious .i promise I'll come back with big tip!

Colin G.

Yelp
Great Cali style burritos ! Come here if you want a taste of Cali Mexican food ! I highly recommend
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
There carne asada fry's are good. Good size and good for the price no complaints whatsoever. They have a big menu that's worth looking at.

Jacob N.

Yelp
Best Mexican food at this chain of restaurants. The Burien location was great. They have an inexpensive California burrito that I ordered almost every day for lunch when I worked nearby. They have great dinner plates too, like the steak ranchero.
google avatar

Bob G.

Yelp
Decent food, but there are many better options on pure taste quality. However, Alibertos Jr crushes it when it comes to convenience, price, and overall quantity of food. 12 street tacos for $15 is a deal you won't beat anywhere else. Would recommend.
google avatar

Denise S.

Yelp
This local-ish chain took over the space from a lesser Mexican restaurant and has quickly become a weekly stop for us. I grab burritos, quesadillas, tortas, sopes, enchiladas, and rolled tacos each week and shlep it over to a local craft brewery around the corner. I have at least one person ask me where we went every time. It is all good. All of it. And the lady who works the counter is friendly, energetic, and efficient. Seriously, there are zero wrong answers. The latest find and my new personal favorite is the Vegetarian Breakfast Burrito, followed shortly thereafter the Daysauno Burrito. But the carnitas is delish, the al pastor has great flavor, and the pollo asado is a unique treat. Start the journey with rolled tacos filled with either chicken or potatoes, and then start working your way through the menu.
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
Definitely not close to some of the Mexican food I've had in the area. I ordered shrimp fajitas and carnitas tacos. Their prices are decently set, which is one of the benefits of this place. Service is also nice and quick. But I wouldn't recommend this location if you're craving Mexican with El Rinconsito down the street. Unfortunately, the meat was dry and not flavorful. The shrimp was covered in sour cream and guacamole, definitely not my cup of tea. Also, wasn't a huge fan of their rice and beans (I've never had this experience because it seems pretty impossible to get wrong).

lem k.

Yelp
i really appreciate that it is open very late, the lady is nice and considerate and I love the vibes. thank you. food is rather delicious and delightful and I am happy to have discovered this place ¨

Princis B.

Yelp
The lady was so rude and racist!she not helpful and no customer service at all and I don't believe seeing her with no respect at all shouting and keep cursing in front of the customer like us trying to ask their menu

Rodolfo C.

Yelp
Ridiculous, i've ordered here before and have asked for quesadillas de carde asada with sour cream inside and they do it but today Supposively they couldnt do it i think the lady taking orders was probably just having a bad day maybe that time of the month she was rude. Will never come here again at least not the burien one seattle one are more professional and have a better attitude.
google avatar

ClArk T.

Yelp
First timer here. Ordered at drive thru, was about to leave because no one opened up the window for almost 10 mins. But the food was prepared as you order I guess. But then no one was ahead of us. But the food was good and I'll be trying more of the items next time.

Courtney L.

Yelp
We've been going since this location opened up, almost every Friday through the drive thru. Service, food and prices are really good with few exceptions. Just like I remember from my days in SoCal. I always get a horchata with my meal and it's consistently good. Until this past week. I didn't try it until I got home and it seemed to have a soapy, detergent taste to it. Odd, but figured it was an anomaly. Went again tonight and had the same experience. Maybe they changed something? Not going to order it again anytime in the near future.

Margo H.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem. We love the drive thru option. Mostly a hit and sometimes a miss. Lately it's been a miss. Condiments are missing, lots of fatty pieces, overcharged rice, and now prices have gone up. $15 12 street tacos is now $22. For what it is now, we will probably go try out a new place. For the convenience, we might come back.
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
First time I went here last month, my daughter and I shared a sausage egg and cheese burrito. It was super big and very delicious, perfect to share. Today we went back and we tried the chicken burrito it was packed, fresh and yummy I got a side of sour cream to spoon onto it and will do so again or ask them to add in the sour cream. My significant other had the fajita burrito, he ate it all in one sitting surprisingly, it was a little messy but he said it was amazing! Definitely going to try more items on the menu!
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Food rating and cleanliness went down. Back on the hunt for anew spot.
google avatar

Jay V.

Yelp
WOW!!! So happy I finally stopped! This place reminds me of Roberto's in San Diego and am wondering if there is a connection because the menus are similar. I had the TWO CHILLE RELLENOS plate which was BOMB! Two of the best rellenos I have ever had with a nice helping of rice, beans, pico and two flour tortillas as I like them - big, fresh and piping hot. If you want AUTHENTIC Mexican food in Burien this is THE new spot! WONDERFUL SERVICE as well! Rivals La Costa for sure and much handier for lunch. I will probably be back tomorrow to try their 5 rolled tacos with guacamole or they have what looks like a wonderful potato, egg and chorizo burrito special right now as well My prayers have been answered!! Now if we ever get an IN-AND-OUT Burger in the Burien/White Center area I will be ecstatic! MUCHAS GRACIAS Alibertos Jr.

Kamaaina O.

Yelp
Good food, fair prices, n good customer service. Nice spot for a quick lunch break. My coworkers n I eat here regularly.

Gee M.

Yelp
We pass by this restaurant all the time, ignoring it because we assumed the menu would be pricey for fast food items. One Saturday night, we finally decided to park and look at the menu. The prices were reasonable enough to try. Well, the food is really good and very reasonably priced - much better than the other two Mexican restaurants that we frequent around the same area. This will be our new go-to place!
google avatar

Craig O.

Yelp
Yeah It was pretty hit and miss I thought the beans and the rice were very good the cheese on the beans though we're not was not melted so it was you know hot at all the the peppers & STEAK & onions were okay. the best part was that they gave me guacamole and sour cream and didn't charge me. okay well happy summer everybody. I had the steak ranchero and the carne asada taco. I didn't need the carne asada Taco a friend was sick so I gave it to him.
google avatar

Katie A.

Yelp
Had a breakfast burrito one time and some tacos another time. Loved them both, especially the breakfast burrito. Had enough for left overs and it was super tasty. Reminds me of California burrito joints of my youth. Not sure they are my favorite tacos, but I'd go back for burritos!!
google avatar

C Y.

Yelp
Delicious a secret gem. Get breakfast or dinner always yummy. Friendly service too. Fresh and yummy

David S.

Yelp
Really good food, I love their mulitas. Never been inside the restaurant so I'm not sure how clean it is but from the outside it looks... small. Service is good, just make sure you speak loud and clearly. I ordered three mulitas and was charged $25. I was confused until the gal handed me a bad with three burritos... speak loud and clear. Lol. Great place to get authentic Mexican fare. I make a point whenever I'm in the area to stop there. We'll done.

Mike P.

Yelp
I appreciated the size and weight of the burrito, good value for money, but flavors were sort of bland, even the guacamole.
google avatar

Luis B.

Yelp
I probably drive by 20 times per day and didn't care much and tonight we were browsing in Uber eats and my wife really liked the pictures and decided to order, she order torta al pastor and I order tacos al pastor and food was amazing and delicious and when we saw the bill we were surprised that food is so affordable. We definitely recommend this restaurant, much better that other restaurants in town

K T.

Yelp
For 19 years I have looked for a breakfast burrito that would compare to what we used to get when we lived in Arizona. My search ended here! I have been twice now, both times ordering the steak, egg & cheese breakfast burrito. The first time I was in heaven. Finally found AZ style large, thin flour tortillas - superb. The burrito was excellent. Only fault I could identify was that you got pockets of cheese and pockets of egg but they were not throughout the burrito. Second visit left me disappointed. While all the ingredients were distributed equally thru the burrito, the steak was cooked to death, tough, and gristly. Seasoning was just not a flavor I can describe and not enjoyable.

One Star R.

Yelp
This place use to be good with large portions but has gone down hill in the last 3-4 month. The portions have shrunk considerably while the prices have gone up. I get there's inflation but you could have raised the prices without changing the portion sizes. If you're looking for the large California style burritos this is no longer the place. I noticed the beef is cheaper quality and very gristly. Their hard shell tacos and tostadas were stale as hell this last time. They also have messed up my order multiple time in the past few months. I don't know what happened to this place but I noticed the staff has changed in the last 3-4 months. Will never be returning, I suggest the same for anyone reading this. There's no consistency and you don't know what you'll get each visit.

Mrs B.

Yelp
Not worth it. $8 for one minuscule enchilada when the menu shows its a two enchilada combo. Manager is a pos who hangs up on people and doesn't care. Foods great, but manager needs to be replaced.
