Great place for drinking delicious beer. They have a huge variety of tap beer. The food is nicely cooked. Here I saw so huge tables for a big company. We ordered (~15-20 min waiting time from order and get food): 1. Bacon wrapped dates (12$). It's tasty and has a hint of sweetness. 2. Pretzel is a star as a beer, of course. I like design and service. Thank you.

Google
There are quite a few breweries in the area, but Alibi is the best BY FAR! With a great variety of tap beer, they have something for everyone. The beers they make here honestly stack up with the best.

Google
Food changes based on who's there. It's also a bit pricey. Service has always been outstanding and there's generally a beer on tap that you will really enjoy. It's a nice pit stop on the way to Reno or Tahoe. If you are staying in Truckee, it's a great place to hang out and chill.

Google
Good time at this spot! It’s a welcoming and homely brewery with a great outdoor patio and a lively quiz night happening. The beer was fantastic. The food was above average, and while it took about 50 minutes, they were upfront about it due to the trivia night. The weather was perfect, and I enjoyed a friendly conversation with a couple at the German beer table-style seating. I would definitely recommend it!

Google
Really enjoy this place for a leisurely lunch with the family. The atmosphere is very laid back and the staff are kind and friendly, even when it’s busy (and it can get very busy). Plenty of seating both inside and out. The food is “bar food” but surprisingly good and fresh - the bao buns are delicious and the pretzel as well. Free parking lot is a plus.

Google
3 location w/ 3 different atmospheres. Great selection of brews. DIPA & Porters are stand outs.

Google
Solid beers and great service. Fantastic long bar lots of inside seating, but also tons of outside seating with shade, etc.. Well crafted beers that really pushed the envelope on different flavor profiles. Food menu is short but the items they do serve our sol

Google
Hey, they've got a great selection of craft beers. And you have to try the mustache pretzel, it's incredible! The Alibi is a really nice place, it's clean, bright, and welcoming. Even the restrooms were super clean and bright.

Yelp
We came for dinner and be warned, it's slow but good food. They have a small kitchen so it takes time. We ordered the buns and the brawtwast sausage and pretzel. Very good food.

Mary K.

Yelp
We had a large group of 12 staying close by to ski/snowboard this past weekend and we decided to come here due to their long tables that could sit at least 14 people in one table. You order at the counter and then they'll give you a number and will bring the food to you. The food was on the pricier side for bar styled food. Also the menu was different on their QR code versus their in person menu which was a bummer since most of us wanted to try the lamb burger. The food: - Bacon Wrapped Dates ($12). There was only 5 pieces so it was kind of pricey in my opinion. It was a tasty balanced sweet and salty appetizer but wish we had more pieces. Would probably get this again if I didn't care about spending $. -Beer Braised Bratwurst ($15) +$1 if you wanted both beer mustard and beer cheese mustard. The bratwurst was seasoned well and had a nice contrast with the pickled cabbage on top. The beer cheese technically went better with the bratwurst but I preferred the beer mustard since it was more sharp than mild flavor of the beer cheese. -Beer Mac N Cheese ($13) +$3 for bacon. This Mac n cheese was nothing special. It tasted bland and we wished we had a little more salt. It felt like the Mac n cheese was missing something and left us craving something different. -Pork Belly Bao Buns ($15) for 3 pieces-- these were delicious. Not too spicy off you remove the entire chilli pepper. But again a little pricey for only 3 small buns. This restaurant/bar is a great option if you have a large party but just be prepared to spend a little more money yet still potentially leave craving to eat something else. TLDR; Great for large parties. A little on the pricier side. We still left a little hungry after ordering 2 appetizers and 2 "bigger plates"

Yelp
Beers were good. Food (including appetizers) took 30+ minutes... Everything was cold... The food it didn't come as described. The sides were completely different! Please ask if substitutions are okay or explain the differences when dropping off. My buddy was super stoked to bring us here. Blonde stout and nachos! Had neither... We stood up to order. Grabbed our own utensils and napkins. Bused our own tables. The tip screen started at 20%.

Tammy P.

Yelp
We heard that Alibi had some good beers and since we were in the area we thought we would check it out. It took a little time to find the place and depending on how busy it is it may be tough to find parking. There is plenty of inside and outside seating. Dogs are allowed outside but not inside. They offer a lot of different styles of beer and they do offer food. There were quite a few people and only one person serving so it took a little time to order.

Kassandra I.

Yelp
Such a fun place to meet up with friends. They have plenty of seating indoors and an outdoor space. It's a beautifully designed building and the staff are so friendly. They have a decent selection of beers on tap and some canned beverages. The food was amazing! The pork belly bao buns were perfectly balanced. The mustache pretzel was also cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!

Kara B.

Yelp
The vibe of this place is super dope. Came here after being on the mountain all day. Welcoming staff. They brew their own beers and seltzers for those non beer drinkers. Their food was delicious. I recommend the bratwurst! They offer cheese, mustard or both to go with it.

Kendra V.

Yelp
This public house has great local small town vibes. They host a variety of community events that locals and visitors can enjoy along with great food and local drinks. Their absorbing ceiling and outdoor patio seating create an enjoyable ambiance for all ages and is also dog friendly. The bartenders were prompt and friendly. We got the red white and blue Mac and cheese at the recommendation of the bartender and a brat with beer cheese and mustard. Both dishes were tasty. The portion of the Mac and cheese was generous and packed full of flavor. The flight option gave the chance to try a variety of their rotating drinks. I would absolutely recommend.

Yelp
We made a trip downtown after all day skiing. This place has plenty of parking in the back. With 3 cars, we were easily secured the spots. The menu on QR code is wrong. The actual menu is on the physical paper. We didn't know and we were excited to try out the lamb burger, which they don't have anymore. You can technically sit anymore. It gave me the German vibe with big lunch tables. You order at the bar and then they bring food to you. Some of my friends got the beer samples. They seemed to enjoy a lot. As for our food, the burger was yummy. The meat is tender and juicy. The Mac and cheese had very generous amount of cheese. It was creamy and delicious. It wasn't salty. I love both of the dishes. The price is on a higher side than I expected for the area. But I guess it worths it. Would totally recommend

Shirley A.

Yelp
I chose this place for lunch because of the pretzel and the caprese sandwich. Both were just ok. I didn't have beer. Plenty of seating inside. Huge outdoor seating. I sat outside, where the small children ran amok and the dogs sat obediently at their tables. The only customer service interaction was when I ordered at the counter and when they delivered the food. I cleared the table of my dishes myself since I only saw employees bring out food and not much else. They do have a small parking lot. There is plenty of street parking. Can be a hassle finding parking on busy days.

K Y.

Yelp
Good atmosphere and tasty beers. Food isn't the focus here, but good to eat with beer.

Charlene G.

Yelp
Alibi Ale Works is such a cool brewery located in Downtown Truckee. Dog friendly and kid friendly - can't beat that combo. The tables outside have heaters set up so this place is still doable on those chilly Tahoe days. Don't let the cold weather scare you, this place will keep you warm with their table heaters and delicious alcoholic beverages. They have snacks too! One that I would recommend is the huuuuge pretzel! This is so big it's large enough to share with some new friends. Cool, fun vibes at this brewery so stop on it for a quick drank!

Anel M. A.

Yelp
Great establishment to grab a craft beer from over 25 beer on tap. The Angus burger and Spicy chicken sandwich were great.

Helen H.

Yelp
We came here for lunch on one of our days in Truckee. We don't drink beer but we ordered some other drinks that were amazingly delicious. For our appy, we ordered these shrimp bao buns that were super flavorful. I ordered the bratwurst hotdog and that was yummy with a healthy helping of sauerkraut and two types of dip - cheese or grainy mustard. To be honest, that bratwurst wrapped in a pretzel bun could stand on its own without any dips...OMG! so good that u still remember how it tastes nearly a week after our trip. My husband ordered the turkey burger and that thing came loaded and he said it was one of the best turkey burgers he's ever had. We loved this place and will definitely be one of our go-tos in Truckee when we're up next! Thank you Alibi team...great work!

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Some of the best beer in Truckee! So many options for everyone (even if you don't drink beer). They have events most nights. Parking can be tough on busy nights. They have very friendly service!

Candice H.

Yelp
This is my fav alibi location of the two because they have a great outdoor seating area with cover for shade and heat when it's cold. The beer is obviously good but they also have wine and kombucha for folks like me that can't handle the heavy carbonation of a beer. Their mustache pretzel bread with mustard is great, and heavily salted which is a must. Sausage roll is also good. They do have a limited happy hour menu that could make a dinner if you choose. Most of the service is great and bartenders are super helpful. At times, you'll get someone who isn't as friendly as the others but that's life. Come out and sit under the sun (or shade). Tip: their wine prices seem high but they are for half bottles or full bottles. In the end, it's fairly priced. They also have live music a lot!

John R.

Yelp
Great vibe and experience with live bluegrass music. Drinks and food were great, but a more limited menu for food.

Derek N.

Yelp
What a GREAT spot! Coming into town for the week and needed a location and boy did we find one! Staff was awesome and fill of smiles, loads of seating for 1pm, food was just right! Looks like the place is popping in the evening with loads of seating and I am sure the ambiance is fun once the sun sets! Oh and parking too!

Michelle S.

Yelp
I came here with a friend for lunch , and I was convinced that the Alibi was only a bar , but I was pleasantly surprised to find out it wasn't . The ambiance of the place , reminds me of a modern barn , it was very pretty. I ordered mac and cheese and a sparkling lemonade that they make in house. The mac and cheese had an interesting flavor, the plating of the meal was very cute but I felt the aftertaste took away from the food itself , the lemonade was delicious not too sweet but not too sour . Our server was very kind to us and showed us the items he liked most .

Amogh A.

Yelp
Primarily a brew bar also serving great food, a nice outdoor seating area, and live events. The place is self serve but the staff is very helpful. The beer selection is solid - even if they don't have a name brand you're looking you'll definitely find a close match you'll love. The food is also great - they make it fresh and the flavors are not lacking. Great casual sit down place w friends for food and drinks!

Monica S.

Yelp
Favorite brewery of the 3 visited today. Good vibe and helpful service. If in Tahoe, Truckee is a must place to go; not only for breweries but also the history.

Brandon S.

Yelp
I'm camping this weekend and needed to find a place with some free wifi. Called ahead and was told there were plenty of places to "plug in". When I arrived I settled myself at the bar and was greeted by great staff. It was mid-week and off-season so the vibes were super chill. Good music. Great beer. Fun conversation. Once happy hour rolled around I ordered the bratwurst, which was delicious. Highly recommend it. Also, had a special pour that we called a "Giant Fantasy" (combo of their Giant Steps 2023 barley wine and Mr. Tartacular's Fantasy Island sour beer). It was delicious, and I would have never thought to mix the two. I had to wrap up around 5:30 but they had line dancing scheduled for later in the evening. Sounds like there's something fun to do almost every night of the week. I'll definitely be back!

Johannah W.

Yelp
Had a nice time stoping in for happy hour! We came up to Truckee on a little day trip and needed a snack so we stoped in at Alibi. Happened to be around time for happy hour so of course we had to try it. I had a Radler which is one of maybe favorite ways to drink beer. They make their lemon soda in house which is a major plus! My sister in law got the soda and she really liked it. It wasn't overly sweet but also balanced and not sour. My husband got the Cucumber Gose which was not bad but really tasted mostly of peanut butter which was interesting. We ordered a sausage flatbread off the happy hour menu and it was a tasty little treat but the highlight was the red white and blue Mac and cheese which was to die for! $17 and worth every cent! We split it 3 ways and were stuffed. Big chunks of chicken smothered in hot sauce and blue cheese atop a cauldron of bubbling Mac and cheese. The picture doesn't even do it justice, it was beautiful and delicious. The ambiance is very brewery centric, as is to be expected, with lots of wood and a lodge feel. Nothing wrong with that, we're in the Sierra Nevada's. It's a warm cozy vibe with is always welcome in my book. The only downside is there was not enough staff. The nice employee behind the bar was working her butt off filling orders as fast as she could and it was just too much for one person. Other than that, she deserves mad props for doing that all by herself! Alibi is always a safe bet in the area if you're looking for a good time!

Joey S.

Yelp
They have one of the best sour beers I have ever had! I went when they opened one day so I didn't have any food. I want to come back and try it again!

Kim S.

Yelp
Love this place. We come here often. Great selection of beer. Fun events. We love the Alibi pretzel. Outdoor space is perfect no matter the weather.

Alex M.

Yelp
We went on a snowy day and the interior was a nice, warm retreat from the cold. We came in right at opening and ordered at the bar. It took quite awhile for our food to come out but we weren't in a huge hurry. They had mulled wine on their winter menu and we had to try it. It was so good! The spices and heat warmed us from the inside out and it was a great indulgence. We tried the pretzel with beer cheese and it was delicious! It was warm and savory and definitely curbed our hunger. For my entree, I tried the turkey burger. The burger itself was good. The pretzel bun and the chipotle aioli made it extra special. The coleslaw was a nice touch. I'm usually not a huge fan of coleslaw but this rendition was really good! This is a great lunch spot to stop in Truckee!

Ashley B.

Yelp
We came here for lunch and a few beers because we enjoyed the food, beer and atmosphere a couple years ago. However, this time was some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The chef refused to cook a burger well done for the woman in our group who is pregnant and in the first trimester of her pregnancy. We were not asking for any customizations, just to have the burger cooked a bit longer and the chef said that he wouldn't do it even after letting them know she was pregnant. Very disappointed and will not be back. Do better.

Mark T.

Yelp
When it's super hot in the valley, gain some elevation! That's what lead us to Alibi for a late lunch. We took advantage of the cool mountain breeze on the large patio alongside other weather conscious people. I enjoyed a Hazy IPA matched with a Falafel sandwich. The falafel was decent but the warm naan really hit the spot. Tip: there is a small parking lot behind the restaurant. If you're lucky, you can grab a spot. Otherwise, the street parking is metered.

Rayce M.

Yelp
This place has incredible beer and solid food options, but it is pricey. They have spacious interior seating and huge outdoor space as well. They do lots of events throughout the year. Food can be slow to come out at times. Overall a solid stop in Incline Village.

Preeti R.

Yelp
Good beer selection, spacious interior and large outdoor patio space with heaters. We got a beer flight and enjoyed it out on the patio. Food was really good, in our group, we went with the portobello sandwich that had a layer of tomato jam that added a slight hint of sweetness, a steak sandwich, a lamb burger and mac and cheese. We weren't fans of the mac and cheese but everything else tasted good. Our plates were calling for some fries and looked half empty because none of the sandwiches/burgers came with any sides which was disappointing for the price. Overall great taproom vibes and a fun way to spend a few hours out on the patio if the weather permits.

Sheri H.

Yelp
We've been here a couple of times and it's solid! Great selection of food, beers and additional drinks, plenty of outdoor seating and very dog friendly. Always on our must dos when in Truckee!

Jennifer B.

Yelp
I'm not a fan. Portions were skimpy Wait for food was long, which they announced at the bar where you order your own food. It was pricey, especially sodas, at nearly $5. Music selection was decent and being dog friendly is cool, but I won't be going back.

Alex S.

Yelp
The beers are so goooooood. I love that they do have seasonal beers and that the flight is small enough. For $13, you get four 4 oz beers. I got a seasonal IPA, dark saison (wow!!!), Golden mocha stout and a barleywine (double wow!!). The lamb burger is also really good. It's solid and yet still juicy and the cheese pairs so well with the lamb. The place can get crowded so be prepared to stay in line for a while.

D'artagnan D.

Yelp
Great location. Big lots of seating indoors and outdoors. They are taking on too many outside parties that overwhelm the kitchen . So they told many customers food in 30 food in an hour. They sold beer when they returned the decision had already been made no food tonight since they were supporting two private parties. Don't come on. Friday / Saturday ( private parties , don't trust bar staff to actually explain or know why kitchen has decided. ) ( I watched decision change 4 times in 30 minutes and 10 people walk out ) Not sure what to recommend. Beer was good but .. staff is overwhelmed with private parties Manager came by and said oh it could change again not sure we think we are doing good later )

Alicia W.

Yelp
One of our fave places to grab a drink and hang out while in Truckee! I've been here a few times but only to sit outside on the patio. They are very dog friendly and you can always find several dogs relaxing on the patio. There are water bowls for the dogs as well. Interestingly, their Incline Village location does not allow dogs on their patio; service animals only. I don't really understand the difference (the other location has an awesome back patio that would be perfect for dogs) but it makes me prefer this location much more! The patio has heat lamps above the tables for when the temps get cool. You can order drinks or food inside and they bring them out to you. They have lots of great beer options, there's something for everyone. Food is pretty solid too. We can't pass up the mustache pretzel which takes after their business logo! The cinnamon one used to come with a delicious mascarpone cheese glaze for dipping, I think I prefer that over the chocolate sauce it now comes with. Parking can be tough if you come here on the weekends, the small attached lot gets full quickly. There's street parking further away which is what we usually end up doing. I'll have to come back to try more of their food, but I can definitely say the beers and pretzels are worth trying!

Nina M.

Yelp
What a great place! There is limited parking on the side of the building but also plenty of street parking. You walk in and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and we were greeted by very friendly staff. There are plenty of different types of beers including sours and kombucha. Their food options are very unique for a bar and everything was delicious! Bathrooms were clean and they have merch if you want to buy anything. All of their food has tons of flavor and very filling.

Nin J.

Yelp
Alibi is a nice pub serving a small but mighty selection of foods. We ordered the Red, White and Blue which was a bake saucy pasta with chicken breast in a delicious hot sauce topped with blue cheese. The sauce was similar to Franks Hot Sauce. It was a great combination of ingredients! The Greek salad was delightful and colorful filled with olives and the best feta cheese I've tasted - super creamy and not too salty. The house made lemon vinaigrette dressing was amazing and was a perfect pair for the salad. Husband got the steak sandwich which was filled with slices of steak and pickles on the side. The steak was tender and it filled him up. If you drink beer, go here. If you like to eat great food, go here. If you drink beer with your food, definitely go here. PS: staff and guest were all friendly and the bathroom was clean!

Amy S.

Yelp
Great beer, chill atmosphere with plenty of space for indoor or outdoor dining. Solid food if you know what to order. Stick to the bratwurst and you won't be disappointed. They don't take reservations but you can usually snag a spot even on busy holiday weekends. Alibi is centrally located right in downtown Truckee so it's easy to stop by for a beer on your way to dinner. The bartenders are great and will let you taste a range of beers if you have a tough time deciding.

Peter T.

Yelp
I live in San Diego. Kinda sorta a beer god town. However, I have kids now so beer tasting every weekend is now of my league. Alibi was shockingly amazing, far above the above-average tier. It beats Stone, Modern Times, even Russian River in my opinion. The beers are lighter, less hoppy and hazy but full of flavor. They don't fill you up and fat you up, they fill you with happiness and delight. The A+ kicker is the quality of food. While the bratwurst was ok, my lamb burger was bomb. Lamb tasted freshly formed, freshly pressed and cooked. The pickles on the side were awesome. Tons of seating inside and out, over all an excellent spot.

Alessandra A.

Yelp
Only come here for beer. Food was overpriced, mediocre, and took over an hour to come out (for a simple salad, bratwurst, and chicken sandwich). Chicken sandwich didn't even come with fries but potato chips (from a bag). The "pretzel" bun for the bratwurst was a store-bought quality bun. Not fresh, not worth $15.

Susie M.

Yelp
Perfect stop for an early afternoon snack. Staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. Indoor seating was peaceful and comfortable. Truly a beautiful gem in Truckee! My plate presentation was above and beyond perfection, and super tasty!

Jaime B.

Yelp
Beautiful location! Great selection of beers! The Alibi Ale had a perfect grapefruit note with just the right amount of IPA bitter. The 2 stouts were smooth and amazing as well. They have a large family friendly interior and a large outdoor beer garden with heaters that is dog friendly! Love this place!

Chad G.

Yelp
Good beer, nice space and service is fine. Not sure about a twenty two buck burger though. It's good, but we're talking about an order at the counter & take a number sort of deal, and with a "side" of a bag of chips. This is a bit much in my book. The pretzel is really good. Parking can be a minor challenge in a weekend evening, but not too bad.

Phia S.

Yelp
Alibi is great! Tahoe is getting more and more breweries as time goes on, but Alibi is one of the originals! It is owned and operated by locals who have lived in the North Lake area for ages. We cannot help but love a truly local business as Tahoe becomes more and more populated. They have numerous beer options from pale ales to stouts to IPAs. They even have a sour or two on the menu which I always appreciate as a sour beer girl. You can really find any and all types of beer here. They have a private parking lot! Which might not sound too fancy, but downtown Truckee can get very busy. Knowing that you will not have to park on the street is such a big draw! My favorite time to go to Alibi is on Wednesday nights for Trivia. It is usually pretty busy those nights and the trivia is really fun. They always change up the topics. The host does an amazing job keeping it very entertaining. The food is alright if you need a quick bite, but not something to write home about. I personally am a big fan of the pretzel just to fill my stomach as I drink. Overall, Alibi is an amazing brewery and I highly recommend it!

Genevieve S.

Yelp
Loved this place!!! Delicious food, good beer, friendly staff and they had a bluegrass band going on Sunday night!! Great vibe. Will definitely be back.

Julie K.

Yelp
Food was tasty and service was awesome. We sat outside weather was nice. We had a big party 20+ and they were great sport about it. We tried to fit all of us on 4 tables to allow for other customers. The daily kombucha was unique but refreshing. I want to say it had lemon grass, ginger, lime and basil?

Seth R.

Yelp
This is one of the only breweries that has a variety of beers on tap that I actually enjoy - meaning there is a lot more than IPAs. I'm a huge fan of sours, stouts, and hard kombucha, and Alibi does not disappoint. My favorites are the Awkward Family Dinner, Big Berry Tickler, Chocolate Raspberry Oatmeal Stout, and the Contradiction. They also have solid non-beer options for NA beverages, wines, and ciders. One of my biggest gripes with a lot of bars & breweries is how IPA centric things seem to be these days, so it's nice to have a place with this kind of variety. Even though it's kind of a small building, most of the events I have been to there were still fun and the crowd size was kept manageable. The bartenders are all really nice and do a great job helping you select a drink based on what you like if you need a little help or recommendation. They also host tons of events in the summer, so it's a great spot if you're looking for something a little more fun than a dinner only date night!

Bryan L.

Yelp
This place is a really nice beer house to check out in the area. It's open later than some other places so definitely worth a visit. Parking is a little tight depending on the time. My group came in on a Friday night and didn't have a problem. The food is kinda limited in what they serve. I would recommend getting the bratwurst because it has a lot of flavors going on. The carnitas tacos are ok but not something to write home about. The mushroom sandwich smells amazing though. Beer selection is great and compliments the food, or the other way around. Service is fast and friendly and they try to be minimal but not too disruptive. Overall worth a visit if you come around for the ski season.

Elva C.

Yelp
We had a great and memorable experience at Alibi! We enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor dining options, extensive menu, fresh beer and flavorful food, and the relaxed atmosphere and spacious indoor and outdoor dining. The staff provided superb service. It is also pet-friendly! We look forward to visiting again soon!!!

Ashley C.

Yelp
We came here by recommendation and it's such a cool spot! It's right off the main strip of shops and restaurants in downtown Truckee. They have a free parking lot too so you don't need to pay for parking on the main road which is great. There are tables indoors but even more seating outside. We took a nice corner spot since we arrived when they opened at noon, but the place was pretty much filled by the time we left at 1:30. The menu isn't very extensive but they do have some great sounding items - more unique than typical brewery food. I picked the red white and blue mac which has Buffalo chicken, green onions and blue cheese. It was cheesy and gooey and I liked the pasta they used. The chicken could've been more tender but otherwise had good flavor. It was pretty filling even though it didn't look like a huge bowl. Great little spot but only downside was the food did take quite a while to come out. I was starving by the time it finally showed up! Other than that, it's a nice place to enjoy on a sunny day and it's kid friendly (high chairs available inside) and very dog friendly (outdoor area only).
