Yelp
Hit or miss, but it doesn't as much depend on when you go, as much as what you get.
I'll provide a TL;DR at the end.
I'd like to first ask: where are all the people? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it wasn't crowded, but if a good bar is relatively dead at 7-ish on a Saturday, well, why? Maybe 7 isn't prime time for crowds, but a couple more people?
To drink I ordered an Indecent Exposure. Don't let the color fool you, this drink has kick! Initial flag or very mild and balanced, and the tequila (as far as I've seen it go) isn't too intense. Then the heat gets you. It won't have you begging for water, but it will warm your mouth up nicely. Pretty strong too, I could definitely feel an effect while and especially after it.
For food I ordered the Bulgogi Skewers (cooked medium rare) some Tuna Tartare, and the Tiramisu to finish off the meal.
Skewers were a miss. With the exception of one piece, that had the melt in your mouth flavor, the rest were incredibly chewy. To the point where the center might as well have been a gum-ball. Chew all day and it's still there. Seasoning wise I would have liked a touch more, but didn't find myself asking for salt, pepper, or A1. Sauces coming with the dish were nice as well, only I do wish those not on the meat were a little more differentiated.
The salad that came with it was extremely pleasant. Actually had flavor instead of being a bunch of crunchy but otherwise tasteless lettuce.
Tuna Tartare was a sure hit. The same salad makes a reprise, but man oh man that tuna. The consistency was perfect, whatever mix-ins were. Ere added a wonderful dimension of crunch, and the sauce was on point! Not only did it tie everything together, it was in perfect amount too!
Side sauce had differentiation this time, which I liked!
The tiramisu was a mixed bag, 85 percent good, 15% room for improvement. It wasn't overly sweet, and the dough was very nicely soaked in a sweet alcohol of some kind. In terms of improvement, I found there was too much cream. Having more dough would keep this wonderful dessert more on balance.
The location was pretty neat. Large, clean, plenty of room (again, it wasn't super busy), and lots of cozy, inviting spaces for small or large groups! Nice, large outdoor space as well!
The service was overall pretty quick.
But then there's the question of value/price.
Tuna Tartare's price is up there, but good, sushi grade tuna is expensive, and this quality showed, so no issues here.
Tiramisu was priced fairly.
Skewers were a little towards the expensive side, but if they had that melt in your mouth quality I would not be complaining as much.
The drink however was definitely overpriced compared to similar downtown Boston locations. Sure it was a great drink, but those are not a rarity.
TL;DR: a clean, spacious inviting bar with hit-or-miss (though generally solid) food, and great but overpriced drinks (think: Vegas level overpriced). This place is large-group friendly, but value and quality wise there are definitely better places around.
