Best Pool Food and Drink in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"In downtown Tempe, Canopy Hotel’s lush rooftop bar offers a prime place to cool off, enjoy a few drinks, and take in a knee-weakening view. From your 14th-story perch, you behold a stunning, 180-degree vista of Tempe’s buildings, open desert, and far mountains. This pool is intimate. While sitting in the shade or sun, snack on ceviche, ahi tuna nachos, kimchi wontons, and other snacks. Cocktails lean experimental, with nearly all using a Mexican spirit (tequila, mezcal, sotol, or raicilla). Check out “It was just growing there,” which combines sotol, aloe, lemon, honey, and a Cynar mist." - Chris Malloy

Dope spot! The ‘Reverse Happy Hour’ is clutch & right on time for a good food, music, drinks and views.

Google
Recently I had SUCH a good experience here that I had to keep returning while in Tempe! The rooftop has a great vibe and the food was great, but Gina made the experience! From her specialty holiday cocktails to her excellent service & charming personality, she provided service and expertise that’s hard to find! Definitely returning soon to try the other holiday creations, which were as delicious as they were beautiful!

Google
Highly recommend Alibi from their pear salad to the meatballs or delicious cocktails it was all great! We loved everything we tried throughout our hotel stay. The staff is also top notch - Gina, Emmy and Cody were all amazing. Definitely will come back the next time we’re in Tempe.

Google
Sophie was awesome, great drinks and intro’d me to the best NA beer! Awesome place to cop sunset as well!

Google
I wish I could rate this higher! Gina was phenomenal, a true gem to have on your staff and a sincere pleasure to have as our server! She went above and beyond for our Galentine's Day lunch! The drink menu down to the little details of the heart shaped napkins. The rooftop setting was perfect for our event!

Google
Gina’s Snow on the Beach, Fashionably Festive and Spicy Skinny Margarita are some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. The Snow on the Beach and Fashionably Festive were fun creative and delicious! Thanks for the fantastic drinks and service!

Had dinner and drinks this evening, set at the bar and the bartender on duty was very plain and as soon I order my food and 1 drink, I felt pressure by the way she ask me if I wanted to close my tap. I been staying here for the last 3 weeks from Wednesday through Saturday weekly and is the first time I felt uncomfortable when having dinner on the premises. I was fortune David showed up and took over part of the bar and started making my drinks and food. Had 4 Mules , 2 tacos and Calamari. Thanks David the drinks were 🔥🔥 . But overall, the experience and the food is great!!

Google
Great views of the valley, mostly to the south and east of tempe. And just as good as the views was the service, very friendly and welcoming. The food was great, as well. I had the hamburger and it was really good. The drinks were also delicious. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
What a great hidden secret!! My family and friend came here for my birthday celebration! Both bartenders prepared excellent cocktails, the food was amazing, and the views of the city and sunset were awesome! To top it off, the bartenders made me a special birthday shot! Must do!

Yelp
I like changing up my spots so after a special Friday night dining/art experience at the Canopy Hotel restaurant, we decided to head up to the rooftop for another round of cocktails. The atmosphere and view are great (saving grace), unfortunately, it was a challenge to figure out how to get cocktails. A few other groups around us were going to the bar to get drinks while a server was tending. We waited a bit and eventually, I just went to the bar, got us 2 standard cocktails made to order, and headed back to our bar table. It was near the holidays but expected a bit more cheer... Will return again, but hope the service can match the ambiance.

Yelp
Visited on Saturday 11/2 and sat at the bar. The bar tender never acknowledged my friend and I, even after making eye contact. I finally said hello, and still she offered no menus, drinks, not even a single "I'll be with you in a few" I kept my eye on her for quite a while and she was super slow to make every single drink order, not efficient in any way, as one should be behind a bar on a Saturday night. I watched her start several drink orders (including mine) and she was adding an ingredient then putting it away then getting the next ingredient and putting it away. It was like watching someone who's never made a drink in their life. Eventually, another server was able to take a food order and get us a check when the time came, so I'm not sure if the name "Elliegh" on the receipt was from the lackluster and lame original bartender (blond) or the more friendly and personable staff member who helped us wrapped up. I ordered the shrimp ceviche and the components (chips, guac, pico) were good, the shrimp was flavorless. Wouldn't order again. My friend ordered the turkey club and that looked good. Still, this won't be a place I visit again. I will add, it sounded like they were understaffed, but that doesn't account for not even being acknowledged or not knowing how to make a drink.

Yelp
Nice little rooftop bar in the middle of Tempe. Came here with a couple of my girl friends for a Friday evening. It was pretty mellow, with only a couple of other people there. The bartender took my drink order right away and the mule I ordered was good. Although we weren't staying at the hotel, it seems pretty nice and everything was clean and well kept. Didn't order food here this time but maybe next time!

Yelp
Walking in, Alibi has a nice atmosphere. I love the roof top vibe. Came here for a work event and boy was it a mess. It seemed like they were not prepared to accommodate our group. The menu is very limited so it was concerning how long some items took to come out. We were in no means any rush but chips and a salsa should not take over an hour to get to the table. The food was a hit or miss. I really enjoyed the buffalo cauliflower. A fellow co-worker enjoyed the edamame but said they were messy and spicy. I personally had the seared ahi with some Asian noodles. I could not eat the pasta. It just didn't go well with the tuna for me. The noodles did not give Asian vibe. It was also cut on the thinner side. I really wish the sesame seeds I saw on the edamame was encrusted on the tuna.

Yelp
Came here on a double date and we got 3 different drinks, all of which were not good. The margarita I had was very watered down and didn't taste good. I couldn't finish it. The wait was also very long for our food, like 45 minutes. The food overall was not bad, The flat bread I got was over priced ($18) but didn't taste too bad and portion size was good. The chicken sandwich was a little dry for $15. The fries were also not good. They very much needed salt and they were broken in small pieces. But the only reason why the food is not bad is because it's from the kitchen down at Alter Ego. Honestly I wouldn't really come back again.

Yelp
Why are you guys afraid of seasoning? Like everyone says the nice and atmosphere is extremely nice, especially for Arizona/Phoenix metro area. But the restaurant/food needs to make sense. For starters there is no mention of different brunch/dinner menus anywhere on the website nor is there a mention of the restaurant closing for a hour between 3 and 4pm??? Smh I've been here 2 times to eat and each time the food has lacked any modicum of seasoning. I ordered a burger once and it was tasteless. On a recent trip to this place I ordered chicken and waffles which came with a side of maple syrup, and some nasty buffalo sauce smeared all over the flavorless fried chicken. I had to ask for a side of butter for flavor on the waffles. They threw in some watermelon slices but it was swimming in the buffalo sauce as well smh. I then decided to order their honey sriracha chicken sandwich and once again the unseasoned chicken is saved by the sauce/toppings. Does the chef know that garlic, onion powder or even adobo exists? It's ok for the meats to have flavor! My goodness.

Yelp
Such a cute rooftop bar! I loved that it was decorated festively for the holiday season. Did not try and food but their seasonal drink menu was good. A great spot for a quick drink for date night or with a friend.

Yelp
We've been here a few times and really like it! We come for taco Tuesday a bit which is fun. Good margaritas and I like the el jefe which is a prickly pear mezcal marg. The only thing I have to say that's not purely positive is that we notice inconsistencies. One time we ordered a steak taco and it was very carne asada taco vibe and the next time it had a Asian sweet and savory meat vibe going. It seemed like it was some meat they had leftover from another menu item or something. I wasn't complaining it was super good! And if for taco Tuesday you are just using what you have leftover I also totally get it! Maybe just have to make it known on the menu. There have been a few things we have ordered twice that have been different each time. Maybe the least of worries since it's a hotel? Just thought I would mention it since we are local clients. Definitely worth going though!

Yelp
Funny story about how we ended up here. Met a pal for dinner and couldn't find it at first but then someone from the pool threw a rubber swan down from the roof top which fell into the vehicle. Looking up thru the panoramic roof we could see people staring down after tossing the rubber swan. It was then that we knew it had to be the spot we were searching for. Thank God it wasn't something heavy coming down instead of a swan. Adealina (sorry if I spell your name incorrectly) bartender Is AMAZING!!! Joe the DJ IS awesome but tonight was not the night to be there.... Country music is not my thing but up until Joe was forced to play it, it was a nice vibe! The company of Adelina and Joe made my visit here nice. Welcome Aboard Adealina from a Vegas. I love the view and the welcoming breeze from up here on the OPEN 14th floor. I didn't know that this was a hotel and assumed that it was apartments for some reason. I met some cool humans. I had the burger and fries which were spendy but expected these days but we were a little surprised that my burger had to no lettuce nor tomato on it and my friend couldn't get a salad because they were out of ingredients. That was horrible as we came to eat and to catchup. My friend ended up with just fries since she can only have gluten free products. Valet parking is available on site which I found out that the restaurant will validate for you... otherwise, $12.00 to park however, meter parking is only$1.50 per hour which was worth it if you're not into a Stanger driving your vehicle and waiting for it when you're ready to go. On the way in (or out) there's another restaurant downstairs which, has great customer service and the bartender Morgan was AMAZING, as well as, the Manager of the entire establishment, Dee Jay, who welcomed me with open arms! Anyway, go check it out for yourself. There's all age groups here since it's a hotel and not a college kids hang out. Respectfully! I'd return to sit and chat with Dee Jay, Adealina, DJ and Joe as they all gave it a memorable experience! Thanks guys

Yelp
Nice shaded area on the rooftop for a romantic sunset dinner! We were greeted immediately upon entering and were given menus. Unfortunately we just missed happy hour by 5 mins and their online system won't let you get the happy hour prices as soon as it passes 6pm. Food 4/5 Empanadas were our favorite followed by the tacos We got a kale salad with beef as well- pretty good! The pool and the tables that have shade are on opposite sides. I thought it would all be in one area so that was a bummer. You have to choose between sitting in the sun and having a pool view versus sitting in the shade and not seeing the pool

Yelp
Great views of Tempe and a nice place to hang out for the sunset. Only drawback is that the beverages are overpriced. Worth a visit.

Yelp
Met up with a friend here on a Saturday evening. It wasn't as busy as I expected but I have a feeling this place draws a later crowd as it's more of a bar rather than restaurant. We came for dinner at sunset. The views are gorgeous. Definitely a great spot for a drink at sunset. The food menu is quite limited and I was disappointed because I have dietary restrictions and could only eat the salad from the menu which they were out of. I still enjoyed being outdoors and the ambiance (as well as my company of course). Our bartender Andranique was new but she is amazing! Great personality and super attentive and helpful! There's also a pool and dance floor up here with a live DJ so I can imagine it gets a little wild. We didn't stay much past 7:30 so it was still a calm and chill vibe.

Yelp
Love!!!! This is a great hang for drinks, ambiance, and food. The views are lovely day or night. You can't beat a mountain vista. Decor is modern and trendy. Pumping great tunes. I had a La Lascivia to warm up, and some street tacos. Tasty! And didn't leave me feeling so full- great portion sizes. Love the roasted pepitas. Kind attentive service. Whether you stay at the hotel or come for after work relaxation A this is a must do!

Yelp
Cool vibe. Pretty empty for a Friday night but the view was a vibe. Pit stop for a drink before going out and the drink definitely did what it should have.

Yelp
Pretty good food for a hotel bar!! My boyfriend and I stayed at the Canopy, so we were excited to hear that they had rooftop dining. You get a nice view of ASU, the pool, and AZ sunsets. We came for dinner and they were able to directly charge my room. Super convenient. What we ordered: + Fries: So good! Great quality potato, selicious aioli dip, and the portion was good enough for two of us to share. + Short Rib Sliders: Surprisingly really tender! Marinated well and the bread was soft & sweet. Pretty tasty. + Poke Bowl: Comes with salmon and tuna sashimi. The marinade is very subtle, and the fish quality is pretty good. Lots of veggies! The only downside is the rice was hard and undercooked.

Yelp
Came downtown for dinner but decided to check out the roof top bar. Came during happy hour and tried the fish ceviche with chips-7/10. Plenty of fish however felt like it was missing something else. Couldn't figure it out but they were very generous with the fish. I forgot the name of our drink but it was a pretty strong one. Staff was great. Tables were clean. There is a swimming pool near the bar and people were leaving their orders. Nice view of downtown.

Yelp
Great relaxing spot with a view! The sunset was amazing. Almost a 360 degree view of the valley and plenty of patio space and inside table if you need to cool down. Got the chicken tacos which were good, packed and lots of flavor. Service was friendly and engaging. I'll be back.

Yelp
Got here around 1300. PJ is the bartender. For about 30 minutes he was the only employee we saw. Acknowledged us upon entering. Told us we could sit anywhere. It's a large area for 1 person to work alone. Patio on either side of the bar/dining area. At this time of day, 1 of the patios is completely in the shade and the other is completely in the sun. I chose the sun. The shade is cold when it's windy. They have umbrellas to shade with. And PJ was kind enough to roll it around until we maximized shade. They don't start serving food in the bar until 1500. But they will let you order from downstairs. They have to get on the elevator and go down to the 1st floor to get your order. Please be considerate enough to at least recognize the effort they are making. Everything was great. It's nice to be able to have some clean/lean options while eating out. The dressing was good, but unnecessary. I'm glad I asked for it on the side. Hubs also asked for dressing on the side and when PJ delivered it, he acknowledged that it wasn't done that way and that he had already requested they redo it, but wanted him to have something to nibble at since my food was ready. Gos love him. The dressing wasn't that thick and was good. So we kept it. But PJ is a great employee.

Yelp
Got a day pass through Resort Pass and I gotta say the Rooftop Bar/Pool was cool! Shout out to Jacob for the excellent service today. Ordered from Alter Ego which is the restaurant in their lobby and it was delicious. I got the Ego Burger with the side of fries. Spiked aioli gave it a great flavor. Definitely recommend if you're in the mood for a burger during your visit. For drinks, I had El Jefe and Como La Flor which I recommend as well. El Jefe had a great flavor with the "spicy" they add to it. Vibes were chill/laid back. The outside pool was great. Especially because we were the only couple in the pool area for most of the day!

Yelp
Gorgeous bar for a hotel. I love it. Rooftop views. Experienced this bar for the first time December 2020, I think my first pics show the decor for Christmas time very cute. We were staying at the Canopy by Hilton at that time. Fast forward to 1.5 years later, I still think about the canopy and the awesome bar so suggested we go back there. I'm glad we did. It's just as cute as I remembered. We went for an afternoon drink and some views. It wasn't busy so I'm guessing on a kicking Friday or Saturday they may have misters on outside. They also have heaters for the rare cooler months. Gina made us delicious drinks, a cocktail called raspberry crush and it was really light and refreshing, I really liked it. Had fresh muddled raspberries. She made hubby a mocktail of her own creation something with Red Bull in it lol, he ordered two. Really great bar most likely college students come here I suppose since it's right next to ASU. But maybe hotel guests as well. Beautiful views. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a rooftop bar with a cool vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice and simple rooftop bar in Tempe. Good for a small group of friends or a date. Not much of a food selection that I felt looked good on the menu, so I wouldn't recommend this place for food. Maybe just appetizers. The drinks were average. Prices are fair for the area. It wasn't that crowded on a Saturday night, which I liked. And they have great outdoor heating lamps that get you nice and toasty on a chilly night. It's the first time I noticed a bar having excellent heating lamps.
google avatar

Yelp
Gina was amazing. She made the whole Galentines menu and her drinks were beautiful. She was so sweet and provided great service. Definitely coming back xx

Yelp
We had such a great time celebrating our anniversary here. The rooftop offers great drinks and views. We had a couple of drinks that were reasonably price and delicious. I highly recommend checking this place out, especially to watch the sunset. They have a rooftop pool for guests that adds to the ambiance and a cute setup with chairs and gazebos.

Yelp
If you're looking for a club scene with a DJ and a place to bump and grind at 1pm for a Sunday Brunch, this is your spot!!! The Canopy by Hilton has a great ambiance. Walking into the lobby is serene with a cool vibe at Alter Ego, the sister restaurant. Make your way up to the top floor 14 for the Alibi Rooftop Lounge and as soon as the elevator doors open, the music will be in your face. We sat on the edge of the rooftop glass ledge but the music was still so loud we could barely hear each other. There was a girls birthday party with two long tables and apparently we had missed the memo. They were done eating and probably many mimosa pitchers in and living it up. Dollar bills were floating through the bar floor and it was all we could do to not stare. If we had started our drinks at 11am, maybe we would've been ready for this but we hadn't even had our coffee yet and moved downstairs to Alter Ego where we originally were looking. Not sure why they didn't have any Open Table availability because they were wide open.

Yelp
My husband and I visited the rooftop bar. Emma was fabulous. She was so sweet and gave us fantastic service. We will definitely come back to visit her :)

Yelp
Alibi, the rooftop lounge, exceeded all expectations during my recent visit. The drinks were nothing short of exceptional, boasting a diverse and expertly crafted selection that added an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. The ambiance at Alibi is a perfect marriage of sophistication and comfort, with panoramic views that create an unforgettable backdrop. However, what truly stood out was the impeccable service provided by the stellar team. Christian, Sophie, Garrett, David, and Gina orchestrated an evening of perfection. Their attention to detail and warm, genuine hospitality enhanced our experience. Christian's mixology skills, Sophie's knowledge of the menu, Garrett's attentiveness, David's recommendations, and Gina's friendly demeanor collectively contributed to an evening we won't soon forget. Alibi's rooftop lounge, with its outstanding drinks, captivating ambiance, and exceptional service, is undoubtedly a 5-star destination. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable and delightful night out.

Yelp
This place was a very cool stop. Came here on a weekday early afternoon and it was not too busy at all. Although there was only one girl working, she did a great job to help us and provide great service. Highly recommend the margarita flatbread it was very fresh and delicious. Cocktails were very yummy. Most of all the view is just absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend stopping in here and the hotel is also very beautiful.

Kaila D.

Yelp
This establishment is one of the more decent rooftops in the area (not the best since I've lived here for 6 years) great drinks, decent views. Talking about the customer service though... I will not be returning for that reason alone. Initially walking in sitting at the bar, David the bar tender was completely attentive with a positive and super energetic attitude. Bar tender Cody then approached aggressively and had a rather negative attitude seemingly judging me and my friend from afar. We were taking pictures for a local restaurant review while being starred at, pointed at, and laughed at. This experience made the environment go from welcoming and fun from Davids positive vibe to uncomfortable and unwelcoming from Cody and a female bartenders attitude. This behavior immediately prompted us to close out our tab and leave the establishment. 10/10 David

Yelp
I went with a friend here last week for a couple of drinks. They were excellent. We also went on a Thursday so they had a fun trivia going on! Food was also really good, we ordered the shrimp and the margherita flatbread. They told us they also do events on the weekend such as Pool parties and glow parties!

Yelp
Love the vibes and the bites to eat here! Perfect for an after-work happy hour! I came here on a Friday night for dinner and drinks with a friend. The menu features several specialty cocktails and an Asian fusion, Hawaiian food-inspired menu. Drinks (5/5): We sat at the bar and started off with drinks. My friend had the Tamarind Mule, which she LOVED and ended up ordering a second round of it! I ordered the Electric Strawberry, which I loved and would've ordered a second round had I not been driving later haha. Both drinks were delicious and had enough alcohol to feel the buzz! Steamed pork buns (5/5): These were yummy! Anything with baos and char siu pork gets me hyped. I loved the bit of crunch and acidity that you get from the pickled red onions. Poki sampler (3/5): The dressing the had on this bowl tasted great! I think the fish could've been a bit fresher (you can tell it wasn't at its prime), and the rice could have been seasoned just a little with rice vinegar. The dressing on the poke soaked into the rice, though, which offered some nice umami and tartness when you combine it all together in one bite. The addition of avocado to the bowl was also a great touch! It was the perfect level of ripeness and added a welcome bit of creaminess to each bite. Filipino-style empanadas (4/5): By no means was this authentic OR the typical Filipino empanada (which I expected), but it sure was tasty. The pork was savory and moist, and perhaps could have used more soy sauce or vinegar to up the adobo flavor. The ginger plum sauce the empanadas cake with also tasted great. Service (4.5/5): We sat at the bar and there were other patrons present, so we did have to flag down a bartender a few times to get our orders taken/get other things like napkins and water. The bartender that served us was super friendly and hospitable, and struck up great conversation with us!! As an Asian person, I'm always pretty skeptical when seeing Asian fusion food; but given my skepticism, Alibi did pretty decently and offered lots of great bites to eat. I'd definitely come back to eat and drink here with friends after a long day of work!

Yelp
Such a great experience! Gina and Christian at the bar were so friendly and attentive. We had a small family get together on the patio and everyone loved it and the service was exceptional. Beautiful view and good vibes. The bar is open to the public so it was easy to locate.

Yelp
We stumble across this rooftop on early Saturday evening. It's located in the canopy hotel above alter ego on the 14th floor. I like how the rooftop was sections. Indoor, outdoor with a pool on the other side with cabanas. The bartender, Gina, was such a sweetheart and she took care of us.

Yelp
My experience with this restaurant has been pleasant. Im from California so really didn't know what to expect, but i ordered the spicy margarita and that was delicious not to mention the Brisket tacos. We happened to find out that Brittany created the Spicy Margaritas and they're life changing! Id say that this establishment is definitely a diamond in the rough

Yelp
I have loved my week here at The Canopy. I was here for a work team event and The Canopy hosted our events. Everyone has been wonderful...the room was great, the bed super comfy. They do allow dogs (which I love because I own them and travel with them all the time...but come on... what owner lets them bark all the time? I hope they weren't left alone too long!). Anyhow.... Great place and I LOVE THE ROOFTOP! Mikey and the staff have been AMAZING all week. It has been such a pleasure to have folks to hang out with while on a business trip and have fantastic food too. Way to go Canopy (and Mikey)!

Yelp
I love this place so much, I come here all the time and recommend it to my friends as well. The hotel as a whole is a wonderful "staycation" place; I like the restaurant downstairs and the bar up on the rooftop, as they offer different vibes. Alibi Rooftop Lounge is a beautiful rooftop bar with friendly staff, great drinks, and stunning views.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place for the Phoenix skyline view located in downtown Tempe. It's located inside the hotel and you take the elevators up. Since I no longer live in the urban skyline apartments, I like coming to places like downtown Tempe and Roosevelt to walk around and enjoy the city view. Didn't try any food because kitchen was closed. They have a pool but it looks like you need key access (from hotel). The drinks were ok -- typical bar selection but I mostly came for the rooftop views so it's all good.
google avatar

Riley G.

Yelp
Visited this rooftop bar on ASU family weekend. There is no table service, you do have to order everything from the bar. The food is really expensive and really small. My party ordered the Street Tacos both chicken and Brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were extremely salty. They were both so tiny! They were out of rice for the poke bowls which was disappointing. Other people in our party had the burger which had a really weird sauce on it. The fries were delicious though. The employees were very friendly but ended up leaving starving still and with an unpleasant experience.

Heather S.

Yelp
The drinks are overpriced and not good at all. The food was okay, not as great as expected. I'm sad to say I will not visit again

Joy J.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend had an absolutely amazing time at Alibi! Gina and David were our bartenders and they welcomed us as soon as we came in, and they had the best energy. Gina made some amazing drinks for us, the Barbie Mojito was soo good, and she even freestyled a mix drink that had Crown Apple in it since that's my boyfriend's favorite, and it was very good. The ambiance and the vibe was amazing they had a great playlist going, and it was comfortable at the bar being around such friendly people.
google avatar

Claudia V.

Yelp
The drinks and food here are great. I ordered a tamarind mule, the empanadas, poki, and pork buns. Everything was delicious and I'll definitely be ordering the pork buns again. The poki is surprisingly filling and could feed 2-3 people if you order another small dish. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to check out the rooftop because of monsoon season, but it looked awesome before the rain kicked in. Once it's cooler, this will be the perfect place to drink cocktails with friends after work. Staff were incredibly responsive when my friend and I were alone. However, staff were less hospitable once my masc girlfriend showed up. Staff made my girlfriend wait a long time before taking her drink order and they entirely stopped being friendly to us. Overall, good food, good ambiance, but this particular experience wasn't LGBTQ-friendly.

Yelp
Decided to drop in for lunch around 12:30. I was only one in the place. After ordering my food and sitting there for 30 minutes I went looking for it. After another 5 minute wait it showed up . Japanese Chicken sandwich with fries. It was pretty good. Great view. Nice pool area. I imagine it will be busy come cooler weather with the ASU students returning. You can park in garage and get your ticket validated for free parking!

Yelp
Booked an overnight StayCation at Canopy Tempe. Looked at several hotels in the area before making my reservation. Deciding factor in selecting this Hilton Hotel were the reviews of the Alibi Rooftop Lounge. My wife and looked forward to celebrating our anniversary at the lounge watching the sunset and listening / dancing to music from 6-9. After our arrival we were very disappointed when we found out the lounge, pool, roof-top were closed for the entire day for a private party. Does not seem right to take this amenity away from 200+ guests staying at the hotel in order to increase revenue by renting out this public space for a private event. It would be wise for Hilton to step in and stop this practice.

Yelp
We went to Alibi based on Yelp reviews and a relative dearth of interesting/upscale dining options in downtown Tempe. The food was good if a bit over priced. It's all tapas style, we had the empanadas, poke bowl, ceviche and octopus fritters. As stated, it was good, but not worth elaborating on. Cocktails were interesting and the service was satisfactory. What stood out to me was the ambiance. Alibi has the look and feel of a Disney Channel tween show version of a hip spring break hangout. LED light strips pulsate different colors while the sound system pumps out music from c-list artists. To be fair, Alibi is poolside bar/lounge, so maybe that explains it, but it was a Sunday night in February.

Yelp
Met some friends here for trivia. As the name suggests it's on the rooftop of a hotel where the pool is. The bar is a decent size but the seating around it is limited. The food menu is extremely limited and everything we ate was good not great. We tried a few different things (flatbread, burger, edamame). The edamame wasn't good, i don't know what it was exactly but none of us liked it. The flatbread was good, nice crisp. The burger was decent, on the smaller side and was very basic. Definitely not worth the price. The drinks are on the pricey side. A vodka soda (house vodka) was $12.00. Service was great at times and non existent at other times. Overall there is nothing that would bring us back here.

Yelp
Worst service ever. Inattentive staff. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks after I went to the bar to ask if they could wait on our table.

Yelp
The atmosphere here is beautiful. It was chilly outside but the heat lamps made it much better. Good DJ but sad he left before they closed. Good music and good vibes go hand and hand. The drinks were expensive and weak. I ordered a Long Island but I felt felt the cup was the only thing long and the island was dry. Paying all that money for a drink tgat had no alcohol in it was craziness. I thought I was being smart to order a corona with a lime next. I was expecting a bottle with a lime in it, instead I got a corona as a draft. Say What. And the price of a shot was crazy high too. I feel like you're paying for the atmosphere. The food was meh .. sometimes fancy isn't all what it's cracked up to be. I might come back to look at the view and drink before I get there! LOL. Need a new roof top spot with decent drinks that's strong to match the price!!
