A Mad Hatter’s Delight at Alice’s Tea Cup UES!
The moment I stepped through the whimsical doors of Alice’s Tea Cup on the Upper East Side, I felt as though I had tumbled straight down the rabbit hole—except instead of curious cats and tea-drinking hares, I was greeted by the warmest welcome from Hendrix. He was as knowledgeable as the Cheshire Cat (but way less cryptic) and guided me through their freshly baked selection like a true connoisseur of all things sweet and scrumptious.
Before I could even place my order, I was utterly enchanted by the heavenly aroma of butter, sugar, and spices swirling through the air—like a magical potion designed to make you instantly hungry. If Wonderland had a bakery, this would be it. Naturally, I couldn’t leave without taking home a few treats to enjoy, and let me tell you—each bite was pure magic!
Pumpkin Caramel Glaze
Oh, White Rabbit, take me back in time so I can experience this scone for the first time all over again! Moist, tender, and brimming with warm pumpkin spice, this beauty was crowned with a silky caramel glaze that made it taste like autumn decided to throw a tea party in my mouth. The perfect balance of sweet and spiced—so good it deserves its own unbirthday celebration!
Blackberry Scone
This scone was the Queen of Hearts’ worst nightmare—because there was absolutely nothing to behead here! The juicy blackberries nestled within its golden-brown exterior added the perfect burst of tart sweetness, and the flaky, buttery texture made each bite feel like a tea party for my taste buds. Slathered with a bit of clotted cream? Absolute Wonderland bliss.
Raspberry Scone
If the Blackberry Scone was a tea party, this one was a full-on royal banquet. The raspberries were bold, tangy, and perfectly jammy, giving the scone a bright and refreshing pop of flavor. Whether paired with tea or enjoyed straight out of the bag (which I may or may not have done on the way home), it was pure perfection.
Biscuit
A biscuit so light and fluffy it could’ve floated down like Alice from the rabbit hole! Buttery, flaky, and with that perfect crisp-on-the-outside, melt-in-your-mouth-on-the-inside texture—this biscuit was as comforting as a cozy tea party with the Mad Hatter himself. Honestly, if I had been a little greedier, I would’ve bought a dozen. (No regrets, just a great excuse to come back ASAP.)
Final Thoughts:
It’s safe to say that Alice’s Tea Cup has officially become my new favorite Wonderland. The scones? Divine. The biscuit? Heavenly. The experience? Absolutely magical. I can’t wait to come back for brunch (and maybe convince my friends to dress in full Wonderland attire). Until then, I’ll be dreaming of my next trip down this delicious rabbit hole.
If you haven’t been to Alice’s Tea Cup yet, you’re LATE, you’re LATE—for a very important (and delicious) date!
