"The fifth outpost of Alicia’s Mexican Grille is set to open at 20420 Southwest Freeway in Richmond, though the restaurant is describing the outpost as located in Sugar Land. As at the other Alicia’s locations, the restaurant will serve fajitas, margaritas, and more Tex-Mex classics, and plans for tequila dinners and chef’s tasting menus are set to follow once the restaurant is open. No official opening date has been set, but expect for Alicia’s to arrive in February." - Amy McCarthy

Google
There are many reasons why my family loves Alicia's. Customer Service was great, the gorgeous decor and the wonderful atmosphere. We really enjoyed our family dinner here. There portions are very large....that is a BIG ➕ PLuS!

Google
The place is BEAUTIFUL, the staff was EXCELLENT...but the food was TERRIBLE! Synthetic tasting cheese, flavorless meat and horrible masa in the tamale. The drinks were GOOD😖 Mexican food is such an easy cuisine..how does an establishment go wrong.

Erasmus Kesler

Google
This is the second time we have been here. As in our first visit the service and food was very good. The tamale and beef enchalada were great, so was the guacamole. The salsa tasted different but very good. I don't normally notice or comment on the ice tea but this time noticeably good. We will be back.

Google
Excellent chef-style TexMex food. Big servings with great service. A little pricey.

Jonathan Hewitt

Google
Margaritas are decent. Service was slow but there was only 1 person at the bar. Chicken fajita quesadillas were really good. Their salsa is amazing. Very fresh and spicy for a cold salsa.

Food was fresh and delicious. Drinks are on time and priced fair and free ice cream to boot.... gotta try it.

Yelp
You didn't make it to 5 stars, but alicia tried. So down in Richmond, there's not much Mexican food, and this is no exception... as it's not Mexican. This is Tex Mex food aimed at suburbanites and non Mexicans, and it works. They do a great job with large platters of mid price "Tex" food, the Mex part is as ever dubious. But it's good, I mean, not bad at all as far as the genre goes. I find it hard to ever give this type of food a 5 star rating but I still think it tastes good and that's good enough for me.

Yelp
My mom and I had stopped by Alicia's for lunch today. We had a wonderfully pleasant experience, all of the staff had such friendly demeanors and the atmosphere was as peaceful as can be. The Spicy Tortilla soup has a lovely little kick to it, not an overpowering spice at all. Just enough to remind you it's there and to tickle your sinuses a bit over time as it builds up. My mom seemed to enjoy her salad, did need to ask for a little more dressing tho!

Kristy S.

Yelp
Caldo de marisco- lots of onions, some tomatoes I think and some unknown small seafood balls. There's calamari, fish chunks & a few small shrimp. Broth tasted good. Comes with buttered toast, no rice or tortilla. It needs more chunks of recognizable seafood. The place is very large & roomy, beautiful interior. Great service except the hostess didn't understand "where's the bathroom ?" So she had to go ask the manager for translation--She only spoke Spanish. My daughter had the cheeseburger with fries. It came with only a little but if fries. The serving size here isn't Texas style--big. It is enough to get you full but no leftovers. I've had takeout here, first time dining in. Overall food is ok. The selection is good though and price decent.

Yelp
Got free queso from checking in on Yelp. Thanks! It had a great flavor but was super runny. Salsa was nice and cold with good flavor of onion and slight heat. I had the Hawaiian sand fish with shrimp and mushrooms. The fish was very lemon forward. It over powered the fish. The fish as over cooked so it was dry and it was too salty. The rice was to be cilantro rice but I did not taste any cilantro. The veggies were broccoli, red pepper chunks and red onion chunks. My overall opinion of the fish dish is: meh and I won't order it again. Husband got beef fajitas. The tortillas were homemade and good. The beef was good. The beans tasted like canned retried beans even had a slight metallic taste. Husbands overall opinion is: meh...he will stick to Gringos across the street. Service was good. No complaints other than he asked my husband how his fajitas were but didn't ask me how my fish was...did he know it was subpar? Things that make you go hmmmmm.

Yelp
Beautifully decorated restaurant with really friendly attentive staff We ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp - really delicious with huge shrimp and the bacon cooked just right! We ordered 3 types of margaritas. All were good. The skinny didn't taste skinny! Def worth a second visit

Yelp
Just moved to the area and always pass this place, so we thought we would give it a try. It was pretty terrible. I would've rather gone to Casa Ole. The margaritas were $12 for syrup and ice. The rice was crunchy and oh my good the Queso must've been straight out of the nacho cheese can from Costco. Oh and the tab was $85 for some terrible food. I want a refund and to remove the few bites I had of our food out of my stomach lol

Mary W.

Yelp
Fresh! I had chicken Fajita salad and it was very good. We were in a group of 13 and the waitstaff was great. The margaritas are really really good!

Doug A.

Yelp
First time here although friends rave about this place. I had the lobster enchiladas and the wife had the alicia combo. She mentioned the guacamole could use more garlic. Lobster was good. It was tender but could use a bit more.

Dee N.

Yelp
Best margaritas in town. The food is great and the bartenders always friendly. Fajitas are on point too.

Kerri C.

Yelp
The WORST service we've ever had! I'm not usually one to write a review but we ordered a beer and quesadillas while sitting at the bar. The beer was brought to us after 10 minutes (most of which it sat under the tap getting hot) and after 45 minutes our single order of quesadillas never arrived. The bar was full, the bartender was overwhelmed and the manager was not helpful.

Jeff G.

Yelp
This place was awesome when it opens but it has gone to one of the worst restaurants in our area. Every time I order to go food from this place they do not put any salsa and the order is wrong are prepared incorrectly. The last time it happened I contacted the manager and the corporate office and everyone was very polite but nothing changed. I tried this place again tonight take out for three entrées and got no salsa and the cowboy steak was rare and actually cold. Avoid this place.

Tamelia W.

Yelp
Less than 1 star. Left a funeral with my cousin who flew in from Georgia. All she wanted was to eat was Alicias. We get here at 9:12 and they won't seat us saying they are closed. Hostess asked the manager and he still refused to seat us. I called and confirmed they closed at 9:30 and would still seat as long as we made it before 930. I'm standing in their lobby writing this

Natascha D.

Yelp
Had the beef fajitas. They were very tender, just could have used more season. I love beef fajitas and these were pretty good. I like the fact that it comes with sour cream, guacamole and cheese. A lot of places charge extra. The drinks were very good. We had the Kiwi cucumber Rita and the Mango Chipotle Rita. The service was good. The restaurant was clean. I will definitely be back to try some more food and drinks.

Kelly B.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I will not visit this place again. Everything was good until the last drink and then the bill. We had 2 skinny margaritas, ordered a 3rd and it was not even the sane drink. They removed it. Then we got the bill and had a 20% gratuity added on a 4 top. WTH??? The server said it depends on the server. Had to get that taken off and then got 2 beef fajita tacos individually and they charged $10.95 each. No rice. No beans. Nothing else. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Would not take the tacos off because they were already on the table. Asked to speak with the owner, who is not here, so Mgr Raul was not accommodating at all! We will NEVER come back. Always check your ticket to make sure you are not charged gratuity!

Julia A.

Yelp
I give this location 5 stars for consistency. I have been coming here since they opened. It is very common for restaurants to be great in the beginning and then just start to give poor service and low quality food. Not here. For over a year now i have eaten here at least once a month, sometimes more. The food, service, and quality are always top notch. They work hard to make our visit a dining experience. We have so many favorite waiters it isn't funny, but most recently Brian is simply outstanding. He handcrafted lemonades for my guests and sang "A Part of Your World" to my granddaughters". Who does that?! Now the food: we have had fajitas, caldo de mariscó, enchiladas, grilled chicken, nachos, Just fabulous. But our absolute favorite is the flan. We compare all other restaurants flan to the one here. Haven't found a place any better. Got a hankering for Mexican? Alicia's is your place.

Michelle P.

Yelp
Well, times have evidently changed at Alicia's. We went on a Saturday night and unfortunately my food was cold, and so was my husband's meal. Very disappointing and pitiful as we went there to celebrate our anniversary. I had high expectations, but sadly I think their quality is going downhill. Fortunately, we have some other great Tex-Mex options down the road.

Yokira S.

Yelp
Horrible service if you have a large party. Food is not worth the price! Manager got an attitude when I called her personally.

Erik S.

Yelp
Alicia's is a very good Mexican texmex restaurant The interior is "up scale". They try to present well and it shows. The food is very good . I had caso and chips for app and it was a little lack luster. Velveta with a few bits in it. That was a fail. But the enchiladas verde were very good. PartNer said his cheese enchiladas were great. Beans solid B. And rice C+. The prices KILL this place. $18.99 for beef fajitas is rediculous . Saw at another table. Nothing special. Everything else was two or three bucks or more higher than I would expect. So... guess it was good main and the rest lack luster. Prices not making me feel I got a fair exchange. Folks were prompt and super friendly I think a price review and put some spice in the food for God's sake it's Tex Mex!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Green salsa, check; queso, check; homemade flour tortillas, check! If I could give 10 stars I would, that is how delicious the food is and how wonderful the service is as well. I had the beef enchiladas from the lunch menu and it came out perfectly hot and fresh with just the right amount of sauce and melted cheese atop. Our server kept our drinks full and was very kind and helpful along with every person I encountered including hostesses. Definitely a place you'll not only want to check out but you will become regulars at, I know we will be back to try so many of the yummy menu items I saw today. There's something to be desired with many of the Tex-mex or Mexican restaurants out there but Alicias really hit the mark from the salsa all the way down to the deserts which I hear are incredible and added bonus they offer complimentary ice cream cone after your meal, whats not to love?!

Bridgette M.

Yelp
This is the third time I have been to Alicia's and each time it was delicious. This time we had the pleasure of Jacobo waiting on us and he was just a pleasure!! He made experience just wonderful. Will definitely be back again and again.

Rosie B.

Yelp
I love their Mexican style fish ceviche. Such a great flavor and full of fish! The seafood soup is also delicious. I've had take out from here twice and it's been great both times.

Ariel S.

Yelp
Phenomenal food. This establishment went up where a crappy Mexican restaurant *used* to be and I was fearful that the old would stick with the new. I'm happy to report that Alicia's parking lot is full and the food far exceeded my expectations. We had the fajitas, but the show-stopper was my son's junior burger. Angus meat and BIG. Chips were tasty too! A++

Amber E.

Yelp
The interior is very nice and some staff are friendly while others not so much. Our sever was pretty blank and did not smile much. There were 5 adults and the seating was odd. They simply put a chair at the end of a table for 4. Now I don't go to mexican restaurants for the free chips. However, it seemed the food took awhile and we had eaten all of our tiny bowl of chips. Finally, someone asked if we wanted a refill and we ate most of those too before our food came. It wasn't very busy but not slow either. The food...is ok. I had chicken enchilada suiza. The chicken was moist but bland. Also, I am disappointed there was no cream sauce with my enchiladas, only tomatillo sauce which is not what I was expecting. The rice and refried beans were good but not great. Two others ordered the chimichanga with chicken. That looked like a disappointment. The rice and beans are inside with hardly any meat. The exterior was not crunchy and reminded me of a burrito with queso on top. My husband actually ordered the burrito which looked just like the chimichanga. Now the chocolate cake was great! I mean it was so good I would go back just for the cake.

Cara D.

Yelp
Gross. I ordered the shrimp tacos and couldn't even eat them because the tacos were absolutely drenched in oil. The oil was pooled in the tacos and ripped through the tortillas making everything fall out. Sent the whole plate back and wouldn't not order anything else. Won't be back. Update as of Sunday 5/20/19: my mom became sick from the food the following day. She said she will not be back as well. This restaurant won't last.

Sophie B.

Yelp
This is our new favorite Mexican food joint. We got the street tacos, chicken enchiladas, and a burrito. Everything was sooooo good we can't wait to try other dishes. Price was also very reasonable!

Lexi M.

Yelp
Alicia's is a great restaurant for group gatherings!! They were great on the phone when I first called to set up a reservation for almost 20 people. I made a few calls closer to the date and the day of our group gathering to update our reservation numbers, and each time I called they were so incredibly accommodating. Upon arrival, everything was set and Gregory, our server, introduced himself. From the time we first sat down to when we got our checks and were getting ready to leave, Gregory and his helper were awesome. The food came out very timely and everything was excellent! Overall, I highly recommend Alicia's for both service and food quality!

Jerry P.

Yelp
We ate here yesterday. Portions were good. The food was great. And the service was also good with the exception of one mix up in the kitchen. They did fix the mistake and every thing was fine. While we don't speak Spanish it seams it would help here. Which is probably what caused the mix up. Other than that no complaints. We will return as the food really was that good.

Atticus M.

Yelp
The food was amazing and I loved it I was amazed by how tender the food was and I would totally recommend this place you get your money's worth.

Asabe H.

Yelp
Really nice Mexican restaurant! Very clean . The meats are juicy and tasty! Which is hard to find this days Very affordable prices . Staffs and welcoming! The menu is easy to understand and relate to . Pretty good size with different options

Debbie J.

Yelp
Over priced for mediocre food. There are much better places to get good Mexican food without the chain-restaurant prices.

Matt S.

Yelp
We have visited the other location in Katy and enjoyed the food so glad that there is a location closer to home. People need to realize that they just opened and it always takes a place a bit to smooth out the kinks and the issues. Give them a chance people. Our waiter was friendly and nice and attentive to what we needed. We decided to get the mixed fajitas for the whole table of 5 of us and we enjoyed them. There was not a bite left. Hot fresh tortillas are a must in my opinion when you get fajitas at any place. The beans and rice had good flavor. Overall we had a great dining experience here and even though there are minor issues they will get fixed as the place is open longer as the staff needs to train and serve more.

Rikki F.

Yelp
Honestly, just go to gringos across the street. This place is over priced, the food & drinks aren't even "good" & the service is sh*t. I use to be a regular since it's across the street from my complex but 1 too many times of just poor service I took it to gringos. Don't waste your money here, seriously. Negative stars if I could.

Brianna D.

Yelp
We went for lunch; was my first time eating out since COVID, and I was very thankful for the precautions being taken. All staff wore masks, the menu was scanned on our phones, and taking into consideration that there weren't many people there, we were still all spaced out which was nice! If I lived in the area I'd be back in a heartbeat!

Elora M.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and friendly staff from the hostess to the waitstaff. Very clean and complies with the CDC social distancing order. I highly recommend their queso and beef fajitas! The margaritas are exceptional as well! Thank you to all of the wonderful staff for taking care of my family and myself. We never once ran out of drinks, never ran out of chips and salsa. I will continue to support this local chain.

Brandon F.

Yelp
The smell is tremendous the menu has little informative message on each slide they shorted me my previous visit on the chicken but if you tell them they correct it but it's sad I have to tell them to put the right amount but overall there is really good service and is always fast

Jay H.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Our server Marco was amazing and made the beat drinks. Love this place so much. See yall next week!

Julia W.

Yelp
This place has become one of my favorite resteraunts to enjoy some drinks/food. The bar has plenty of seating space......Frozen Margaritas come in several different flavors.....lime, strawberry, mango and top shelf. (My favorite is a Frozen lime margarita with a dollop of the strawberry.). The menu has plenty of items to choose from.....it is always served hot and tasty. (My favorite is the stuffed avocados) The staff is friendly and attentive And shout out to my favorite bartender...."Jasper".

Sheryl C.

Yelp
I thought the waitor was attentive, ambiance was great, the guacamole was delicious! My husband had a delicious plate and mine was a little salty. I will visit this restaurant again due to its new and everyone deserves a 2nd chance. The restaurant and restrooms were clean and thats a plus!!

Teresa B.

Yelp
Poor Management!! Ordered delivery from Alicia's website, order arrived quickly but I was MISSING a whole meal of 2 beef enchiladas with rice and beans. (Crispy Taco was included in a small container) Called the store and talked with the manager RAUL He assured me that my meal was there because he bagged it himself and doesnt know what to tell me. Super unhelpful!! I guess Im lying then or the door dash guy ate it? I do NOT have time to be calling playing games as I have a sick toddler at the moment which is why I ordered for delivery. Very frustrating situation with No compassion or offer to fix!!! Luckily my mother in law arrived and offered to take all the food back for a complete refund. Won't do business here again! What a waste! Will stick to Vaquero in Greatwood.

Roy F.

Yelp
Best Gourmet Mexican Restaurants in Texas. Not your typical Mexican food. Great Food for a fair price.

Matt C.

Yelp
We checked in on yelp and received the free small queso. It was runny and tasteless. We ordered the poblano fajita steak for 2 and it was over cooked. We asked for the steak to be cooked medium and it came out well done. Also, the tortillas are too large. Other Tex mex restaurants serve small tortillas that are thick. Perhaps the worst part of our meal was the surprise that we got charged $1.95 for asking for extra tortillas. The positives? Their salsa is amazing! It has some heat and is flavorful.

Isabelle S.

Yelp
I really liked this place, the food is great and the service is on pointe! I love their rice, super good and real Mexican red rice. The only thing is thAt ttbeir lighting isn't that great, but that's it,, great food, reasonably priced and wait for it, FREE ice cream .

Matt F.

Yelp
My mom try to order for delivery and the person told my mom that they don't do delivery. Well, it tells you on the ad and she told my mom, "not my problem". Like really??? You don't talk to someone like this.

Mike O.

Yelp
The food was ok. The salsa was good, but way too spicy for a house salsa. The guacamole was good and so was the beef fajita. It was more expensive than Gringo's and a little more pricey than I'd like to spend on this quality of food. The service was good and they seemed to have more than enough people on staff.

Mikey D.

Yelp
We ate here today, we used to love it here but we won't be back. Food took forever and some of the food was cold. We had to ask for the same items multiple times. The "manager" came over and really shouldn't be in the service industry, I'll leave it at that. Way too many places to eat for us to go back. Things happen, I get that but how you handle it determines if customers will be back. Rachael, all 15 of us will not be back. No need to reply asking us to come back. Thanks

Ted M.

Yelp
Hola muchachos, que paso? My darling wife and I had an early dinner here to avoid the drunks. We had the Anniversary Tacos and they were super fuckin' yummy. The street corn on the cob was like a stroll through Mexico City in the afternoon while dodging bullets from the drugs lords - exciting as hell!! The green sauce they brought with my tacos (probably avocado) knocked my taste buds into next week - it was spicy and added depth of flavor that lingered into the night. My frozen margaritas were fueled by the space shuttles and certainly gave me the rocket boost I was craving. It's a new choice for you When you crave Mexican food and $4.00 drinks makes it a must do on your dining list. Don't fall into the same trap, try something different, you won't be disappointed. The joint is clean, new and nicely decorated - I swear I thought I was on the veranda of a local eatery on the beach in Puerto Vallarta.

Mike M.

Yelp
Tried this place based on recommendation of a friend. Said great service. So wife and I decided to try it. Well it turns out it was just ok food and not so good service. Waiter seemed to be more interested in the table next to us. Had to stop him at one point while he was clearing their table, to request a refill. He grabbed my drink and we never saw him for ten minutes. Finished my meal with no drink. Never had brought or offered water. Never filled wife's drink. The food was just ok. The nachos were soggy. Couldn't pick one up. It was a mess. I got the chimichanga. It was smothered in so much cheese that's all you could taste. My wife got the build your own plate. She thought it was good. Nothing special. They had their chance. Way to many other restaurants to choose from that do give great service and food.

Lawson C.

Yelp
I wrote this the day I visited last Thursday. I don't think staffing was an issue as it wasn't that busy.

Jason J.

Yelp
It was okay, the fajitas are better then Gringo's the service was better then normal but all around this was a one time visit. Don't get the stuffed jalapeños unsure what kind of cheese is inside but it didn't mix well. All in all it was something to try but not something to go back to.
